I've eaten a lot of cesar wraps this year, and the Hornet is so far my favorite of them all! We were headed to the Presidio for a friend's birthday and it was BYO-everything, so we knew the hornet was the spot we wanted to go. We got sandwiches and a wrap, both were really tasty. We ended up sharing halves of the wraps with some friends and they were hella impressed as well. Great value and great flavor and enough for two meals. So good that we went back a few weeks later and they added a special southwestern wrap, and somehow this one was even better! I hope they make this a staple on their menu because honestly I think I like the flavor profile better than the traditional cesar wrap. Hornet, if you are reading this, I hope you make an asian-style sesame chicken wrap or some take on the chinese chicken salad, I'd be lining up to try that one. Keep up the awesome work! read more

Egg salad sando / 7-Eleven: Best egg salad sando I've had thus far in the city. Better than the more popular Japanese eateries/cafes. The bread is nicely soft, moist, and not too thick. Crust is light. The third slice helps break up the richness of the filling, and by being so thin (but not too thin), it keeps the overall bread:filling ratio in a good spot. It also helps give some friction, lessening the amount of filling that oozes out the back and sides when you take a bite. The filling is creamy, rich, and well seasoned. A pinch of something something to zhuz it up might be a nice option (maybe relish? Japanese curry powder? Furikake?), but as is it's a very solid basic egg sando. Besides the culinary side, at the current $10, it's reasonably priced. Chicken Caesar wrap: The salad tastes notably fresher than most other CCWs I've had and it's not too stem-y. It's close to what you'd get at a nice sit down restaurant, as opposed to some overdressed slop at a buffet table. Mine was a smidge light on the chicken, could've used a few more of the nicely seasoned croutons, and could've been rolled a bit tighter, but I would (and will) order it again. Favorite Caesar salad wrap in SF! This is our go-to sandwich spot lately. They are located inside London Market on the corner of Divis & Sacramento. Open Tuesday - Saturday 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM but frequently sell out before 3:30 PM, especially on a weekend. We usually order ahead on their website before getting there, the wait can sometimes be long if you order in person, or you make the trek and their sold out! So life hack: order ahead. London Market is a high-end liquor store/tasting room. It is a beautiful space. The Hornet is tucked towards the back of the store and has a separate side entrance. There are 2 tables outside if you want to enjoy your food there. They also have a few doggy bowls, which my pups appreciate! Their menu consistent of 8 sandwiches which they rotate and typically offer 3 different styles daily. THE CAESAR WRAP! It is fresh, it is high quality, it is humongous. All of their offerings have great ingredients and top notch flavor. My biggest takeaway is that these sandwiches hold up well and don't get soggy!!!! We picked up around noon and ate them a few hours later and they were still perfect. Prices vary around $18 - $20, which is pretty typical for this portion. I can stretch it into two meals or my bf and I share one. (Has inflation gotten so bad? I feel like this is a bang for your buck!) read more

Stumbled upon this establishment on Yelp and had to try this spot because of the glowing reviews. It's an interesting set up located in the back of a wine store but the person taking the orders was very nice and I was sad to hear that their special was a Dungeness crab sandwich since I have already preordered their chicken Cesar wrap on their website. Wished they had specials available for preorder. The chicken Cesar wrap was delicious with each lettuce evenly coated with sauce. The only gripe I would have is that there wasn't that much chicken and the price was a bit steep for a chicken Cesar wrap. I honestly could've made this at home. I went to this new sandwich shop because I wanted a Caprese. And it is perfect. It is a masterpiece of structural engineering. The mozzarella is pristine, the balsamic is a precise, elegant punctuation mark, and the bread has the crisp, clean integrity of a mid-century modern house. The man who runs it is terrific. He is an artisan. But he is also a saboteur. Because right as I'm paying, this man looks past me, locks eyes with my female Rhodesian Ridgeback, and asks with total, terrifying sincerity: "Would she like a slice of freshly baked bacon?" Not a dry biscuit from a cardboard box. Freshly. Baked. Bacon. Do you know what happens to a Ridgeback's brain when a stranger hands them warm, artisanal pork? She is eighty pounds of pure, independent athletic dignity, but if I even whisper the word "sandwich" at home, she fixes me with a stare that says, "We are going to the bacon man, or there will be a reckoning." The service is friendly and great and guiding. Grab and go place, nowhere to eat but who cares. Nice shop that is clean. I got the Spicy Carlo and it was fantastic.
