Chicken Cesar wrap added avocado
Ada H.

Stumbled upon this establishment on Yelp and had to try this spot because of the glowing reviews. It's an interesting set up located in the back of a wine store but the person taking the orders was very nice and I was sad to hear that their special was a Dungeness crab sandwich since I have already preordered their chicken Cesar wrap on their website. Wished they had specials available for preorder. The chicken Cesar wrap was delicious with each lettuce evenly coated with sauce. The only gripe I would have is that there wasn't that much chicken and the price was a bit steep for a chicken Cesar wrap. I honestly could've made this at home. Kind of regret not trying their sandwiches but definitely will be back for it.

The Montana
Gerard Y.

I went to The Hornet in person and ordered The Montana. The sandwich was hella hearty with meat on a sourdough roll. The menu seems to change every once in awhile so I'll be back to check out the other options. There's 2 tables outside if you want to eat the sandwich right there. It's nice that this place is located in a bottle shop, London Market, so you have the option of getting a nice craft beer to go with the sandwich too.

Spicy Carlo
Jared D.

Amazing sandwich. They are currently in the back of a wine shop. Great wine and beer selection, but that's beside the point. They have some great sandwiches. The service is friendly and great and guiding. Grab and go place, nowhere to eat but who cares. Nice shop that is clean. I got the Spicy Carlo and it was fantastic. The meat was shaved, veggies fresh, focaccia spongy with great bite. Everything was in great proportion. High quality ingredients for a high quality sandwich. Would love to eat all of their everything.

Tri tip steak sando
Ryan B.

Preordered the tri tip sando for pickup. The sandwich counter is conveniently located in the back of London Market. It was ready early, nicely packaged and I was thanked. The sando seemed to be toasted in a panini press, the steak was sliced to perfection and everything had proper proportions including the red pepper and chimichurri sauce. A+ and I will return to try the crab sando

French dip
Michael R.

The hornet is actually located inside London market liquor store. Service was pretty fast by the time I finished my lap around the store looking at all the cool wine and whiskey my sando was ready. they recommended the French dip and it was sooooo good! Can't wait to try all the other sandos they have.

Spicy Pops w/ rotisserie chicken. Delicious!

Excellent sandwich! Spicy Pops. Rotisserie chicken was tender (not at all dry), perfect combination of ingredients with great flavor, great bread. Fresh ingredients. Expect to wait (mine was 20 mins) but SO worth it. Or order online. Very friendly service. A couple small tables outside.

Cesar wrap

New spot with some phenomenal sandwiches! I have been back once a week since my first trip. Personal favorite is the Cesar wrap, I personally like to add a bit of crispy bacon for the added texture. Seriously don't sleep on the Cesar, BEST IN SF! Also, the portions are HUGE! Can't go wrong at this joint. Grab a Sammie, grab a beer, wine, bottle. Whatever tickles your pickle (no pun intended).

The Hornet is hands down one of the best sandwich spots in Pacific Heights. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and specials for everyone. The flavors are on point, and you can tell they put real care into every sandwich. Definitely my new go-to in the neighborhood!

"Spicy Carlo" sandwich

A local favorite! Cool little sandwich shop nested in The London Market. High quality ingredients, great portion size and a really nice staff. I got the "Spicy Carlo" with fresh Acme bread and Molinari meats. The menu rotates weekly - this week they also had the "Crabby Patty" and the "Chicken Caesar Wrap".

So while I can't speak to in person service or decor the delivery is on point. My peachy salad was just ok. The chicken was cold and not crunchy, and the cornbread crumbles were not crunchy at all, like kind of in between stale and crunchy... weird combo. Peaches and pickled onions were awesome though. The dressings that it came with which were a bbq sauce and some type of special ranch also were a weird combo, glad it was on the side vs in the salad itself otherwise I'm not sure I would have eaten it. Crispy cauliflower was good but definitely not crispy at all! Probably got softer on delivery but definitely not something that should be advertised as crispy when it's not... The saving item was my carrot ginger agua fresca- this was amazing! Loved it, that gets a 5/5. Food is 3/5.

So delicious with lots of texture--tangy, crunchy and fresh from the apples. We also tried their Falaf 2.0 (salad) which is refreshing with some sweetness (grapes) and creaminess (avocado) combined with a zesty lemon tahini sauce. Really enjoyed the different flavors of agua fresca here. Spacious and clean interior with a cool SF landscape mural. Service was also friendly. Located on 9th Ave and Lincoln Way.

I came in specifically for the seasonal items and let me tell you... mission fully accomplished…read more My two picks were the Sonoma Salad and the Bangkok Bowl, and WOW -- both delivered in totally different (but equally amazing) ways. If you're craving something refreshing, light, and fruity, the Sonoma is a must. The pears take it to the next level and give it that perfect sweet, crisp bite that makes every forkful feel extra refreshing. It's the kind of bowl you order when you want to feel bright and satisfied. Now if you're in the mood for something warm, crunchy, and nutty, the Bangkok Bowl is your girl. The texture, the richness, the cozy vibes -- chef's kiss. It's hearty without being heavy and hits all the comfort-food notes. And can we talk about portions?! These bowls are NO joke. I swear I made a huge dent in mine, looked down thinking I was almost done... only to realize I basically still had a whole second meal left. Instant take-home win. On top of all that, the staff is super friendly, the space is clean, bright, and welcoming, and the whole experience just feels good from start to finish. I came for the seasonal menu but I'll definitely be back for everything else too. If you're debating what to order: Sonoma for fresh + fruity, Bangkok for warm + crunchy -- you truly can't go wrong!

This is the salad we wish we could have everyday. The main part of the restaurant is your standard table and booth situation, but off to the side is a darker, cozier arrangement of plush chairs and couches. The tables are a bit low and awkward to eat at, but the ambiance is immaculate. You can even get beer and wine here to complete the vibe. I will always love a MIXT salad. The ingredients are fresh, well-prepared, and fairly portioned. You can eat well and healthily and it's not unreasonably priced. I still mourn the loss of the green Goddess dressing... But I'll keep coming back regardless. It's that good.

Order their Rotisserie chicken! It's a waste to order anything else because that's their specialty…read moreand it's just so good. I came with a group of 7, and they were able to seat us pretty quickly. We ordered: A whole rotisserie chicken, the RTR Rice Bowl, the Chicken soup, the fried chicken sandwich, the seared broccoli, the rotisserie fat rice, and the shredded cabbage & almond. Best Dishes: The Rotisserie chicken and the Shredded cabbage & almond. The rotisserie chicken skin is really crispy and delicious, we were all fighting over who gets to eat the skin. The chicken is so juicy, it's really the best rotisserie chicken I've had. We understand why this place is so well regarded. The shredded cabbage is definitely the best side and we should've gotten another order, as we quickly finished ours and were basically licking the bowl clean. Worst: The rotisserie fat rice and the chicken soup. The rice was basically untouched and none of us wanted to eat it. It's ok, just falls short compared to the other sides. The soup was also ok, it's just a huge bowl and it felt like a waste stuffing ourselves with that when there were other better dishes. The rice bowl was pretty good, and is really good value. It's yummy and a good meal for 12.50. It's a very casual place, you order at the cashier and find a table and seat yourself there. Great for a quick lunch.

Giving this a solid 3.5 stars (but I'll round it up for Yelp purposes) hehe…read more The atmosphere is nice and cozy but man does it get packed quickly! The service was quick and kind. Never a moment where old dishes or cups were sitting on the table. To eat, my friend and I had the sweet potato, baked potato, quarter chicken (dark meat), artichoke, brussel sprouts, and the sorbet : ) 1. Sweet potato was sweet and flavorful 2. Baked potato was good but needed extra salt or butter to really jazz it up. 3. Quarter chicken was sooo juicy and flavorful 4. Artichoke needed some level of salt to even out the heavy lemon but well cooked nonetheless 5. Brussel sprouts were flawless 6. The sorbet is amazing! It's how I expect strawberry ice cream to taste but lighter and fresher. Overall, would I come back? Absolutely Would I recommend it to a friend? Already done lol
