I was in the neighborhood on a Sunday and stopped by around 10:30am for a quick bite. I enjoyed my food, but it took longer than expected. FYI, limited seating. Inside: one table for 3 and 4 window seats. Outside: one table for 3. Food - 4/5. I ordered the "Yoga Mat Burrito" ($14) which comes with egg whites, avocado, cheese, potatoes, and a variety of grilled veggies. I opted to add jalapeños as well. Overall, a very solid breakfast burrito - great value, clean, filling, healthy, and tasty for what it is. I liked that it was a good ratio of egg whites to veggies to potatoes (some other burritos I've had are way too heavy on potatoes). Just a bit messy to eat. It also came with a small side salad (for dine-in only). I was still very full hours later. Service - 3/5. Waited 10 mins for them to take my order (there was one party of 4 waiting in line ahead of me). After having my order taken, I waited an additional 15-20 mins for my food. Quite slow for a small deli. Would I go out of my way to come back? Probably not. But I can certainly see why this would be a popular neighborhood spot. read more

This place is super hit or miss. I've had some sandwiches that were good not great and other days they've been pretty bad. I got a bagel one day that was literally just hard. I'm a creature of habit who's been trying to expand my sandwich horizons and only recently learned about PHD despite living in the area my whole life. I stopped by for a late weekday lunch and there were still a couple customers seated when I arrived but no one was in line, but it still took a few min before anyone acknowledged that I was there and waiting to order. It was nice tho that they brought completed orders to folks who were waiting outside instead of calling out names/numbers, and I liked that the sandwich meats were cooked to order so they were fresh (even if it meant waiting a little longer). I ordered the Latino on Dutch crunch and took it home to eat (~10 min walk). I was worried bc the menu listed the ingredients with chicken breast, but it was cooked well and not dry. It had a good balance of lettuce and pickles too. Unfortunately the bread wasn't crunchy :( and overall the sandwich was a bit salty for my taste and made me extra sleepy after I finished half lol. It was a hearty portion for the price though! There are a few counter seats inside and a couple table seats outside, but this definitely seems like more of a takeout spot. I'm confused about service bc other reviewers seem to have had a different experience than the standoffish experience that I had. While the portion and price are reasonable, this didn't wow me, and I'm a picky eater so there are only a couple other options on the menu that I'd eat, so I would probably stick to my usual neighborhood spots instead. read more

Really good deli off of Fillmore St. the sandwich was very big and filling and I love that all of their sandwiches come with "the works". I ordered the PHD greens sandwich which is one of their few vegetarian sandwich options. There's also a falafel wrap which I believe is vegan. I think this is a great affordable lunch spot in the area with quick service. There's cozy indoor seating and outdoor seating. I just wish there were more vegetarian and vegan options! read more

I've been to Pac Heights deli a couple times now and it's safe to say, I'm a fan! The first couple of times I got their tuna melt sandwich and it was delicious and something I'd order again and again. But when we were walking by we saw they added a chopped cheese sandwich to the menu, and I knew I had to try it. Safe to say, their chopped cheese sandwich alone is something I'd come for on a regular basis. A lot of spots have been taking their try at it, and it's been alright. Pac Heights deli does it right, and to me it's because it's simple with fresh quality meats and veggies. It comes on your choice of bread, I got sourdough, and I felt like it was the right choice. For $14, it's massive and easily enough for two meals. Highly recommend giving this a try if you fancy yourself a chopped cheese fan like myself. I also got their sausage breakfast sandwich on an English muffin, that was hella good too. Two sausage patties, plenty of melted cheese, very filling for a breakfast sandwich. I added some mayo at home and would recommend that to add a level of creaminess to the sandwich. The staff here is super friendly and even offered to give my dogs some turkey while we waited for our order outside of the storefront. The place itself is small, with a few places to sit inside but more so a place to takeout and eat at home or the park. Lovely cafe! A hole in the wall amidst Pac Heights. Store has some popular smoothie choices, bagel sandwiches, and regular sandwiches. Order the big burrito ($14) which contains bacon, veggies, cheese, and potato wedges. Although breakfast ends at 12pm, it does seem they continue breakfast past the 12pm mark. Items are cooked to order, so it does take a couple minutes. I ate there and it also came with a small salad on the side. The breakfast burrito was really delicious, has an added some hot sauce for more flavor. Mixture of mushroom, bell peppers, and onions. The bacon was like thick bacon and had a good salty flavor. Latino was juicy and fresh with crunchy veggies, Al's was more hearty with the pastrami. This would be a 5 star if the crunch bread was crunchy. Maybe since I got the sandwich to go, the bread got a little soft on the commute home. I'd be interested in going back and eating there in person. read more

Stopped in on Thanksgiving because I needed a quick bite after having a drink nearby to watch the Packers game. This place is the bomb. It's a New York x San Francisco deli feeling. The price is RIGHT! The owners were the nicest I split a sandwich with my partner and they brought it out all dressed up on two separate plates. The sandwich was BIG packed full, the lettuce is good romaine, not just some iceberg bs. The sourdough was great and fresh. The place is small but has one table and a cute little bar seating area that looks out towards the street. This place is just off of Fillmore and is 100% worth a stop in if you're craving a sandwich. The deli meats are Boarshead which are high quality and I've enjoyed everything from a Rueben sandwich to a California style turkey sandwich with avocado, breakfast sandwiches with sausage or bacon and fresh cooked eggs. I love this deli. I visit from Santa Rosa to see my acupuncturist whose a block down and she recommended it. They have gluten free bread, it's the sliced bread so it's small. But they pack that sandwich and it's soooo good . I order the Fillmore and add turkey. The first time I went I mistakenly was not paying attention to the type of smoothie I was ordering because it had dairy, so I took a dairy pill and I was okay. Phew, crisis averted. I love their little window sitting area, it's a great people watching spot. I love that sometimes their family is there hanging out, I would say the service is great. They forgot to bring me my smoothie, but no worries they were happy to get that to me. Their bacon is crispy too, which I love. read more

They have been in business for about three months now (Aug. 2024) and the menu selection is good. I had a very tasty Reuben. It included a small side salad. Friendly people and good service. Coffee at $2.50 for a small is a better price than most coffee shops in this neighborhood. The atmosphere is fine but the reason I took off a star is the condition of the restroom. It could be cleaner (bottom of the toilet seat looks like it hasn't been washed for a while). Sort of reminded me of a gas station's toilet and we all know those are not usually the cleanest. Second time trying this place. Atrocious breakfast sandwich. Ordered sausage, egg and cheese on an English Muffin, and from top to bottom it's pretty terrible. They serve cut up hot dogs as "sausage." English muffin was okay but the whole thing looked a hot mess, and the dude at the store literally had nothing else going on. So it's not like it was the peak of business rush. This is nothing like a New York Bodega, I would urge the owner to go visit one and see what a breakfast sandwich typically looks like. read more

So excited to have Pac Heights Deli in the neighborhood! I stopped by today to grab a quick breakfast before taking my dog for a walk and the service was amazing. The service was so great, my fiancé insisted we go back for lunch to try their sandwiches. It's a cute little shop with a comforting ambiance, and I instantly knew I'd be a regular coming back with family and friends. We got their Big Burrito and Yoga Burrito for breakfast, and both got the California on Dutch Crunch for lunch. The burritos were filling, but not overwhelming. Food: My review is about breakfast. I really like the breakfast options they have a solid variety of options, and I have tried specifically their healthy breakfast burritos. I and I have no complaints. The Yoga Mat and Healthy Burritos are not only nutritious but to me, excellent. Ambiance: Clean, and nice no complaints. Service: (HERE is my issue) The staff is nice people, BUT I have come to the place on three different occasions looking for breakfast options and they told me that they are no longer serving breakfast. My issue is that the menu and schedule state breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (noon) and I have shown up all three times (today) at 10:30 AM, ( A few weeks ago) at 11:00 AM, and 10:50 AM and had to leave disappointed. There is no consistency, if you don't want to serve breakfast after 10:00 am you guys should change the schedule in all your communication materials. It feels like they make the call depending on their mood on any given day. I would strongly recommend this place for breakfast options, but I would also recommend calling in advance to make sure you don't waste your time. If the get more consistent and honor their own advertised schedule my review would give them 5 stars. read more
