After a workout, I stumbled across this gem- The Brazilian Spot. What caught my eye was the outside sign stating that they offered açaí bowls and smoothies and I felt that would be a perfect way to refuel after exercising. The cafe is down the street from Royal Gas and nestled between two residential buildings. Across from it, is a school where buses drop off children in the morning. Anyways, the cafe is cute and reminiscent of a good ol' neighborhood cafe with its modern twists (neon signs, nice coffee menu wooden lettering, a glass case displaying authentic brazilian pastries, which I believe most are savory and much more). To the left of where you stand they have refrigerated/ frozen goods that you can buy to take home which I thought was pretty neat. Instead of an açaí bowl, I ordered the Ipanema- (I love the song Girl from Ipanema, but I digress...it consisted of açaí, banana, and strawberries) I chose to have almond milk as the base instead of coconut and I loved it! The açaí berries was more dominant than the other ingredients, but I didn't mind because I never eat açaí. I also ordered pao de queijo to enjoy while seated- it was so delicious, the cheese inside mixed with the bread was so filling and spongy like). I ordered two beef pastries to go. This was my first time at this establishment and am excited to try more items in the near future!

Not all Latin American countries are the same just like not all European and Asian countries are the same. Try hitting up each different Latin American countries restaurants or go to soccer match you find out real quick the differences. Brazil in South America is a country in Latin America where Spanish is not in the top three languages spoken. The first language is spoken is Portuguese then German, and the Indigenous languages. Living in a tourist city like San Francisco you will find out one way or another. I went on a Mission stroll and landed at The Brazilian Spot on Valencia street. Inside you feel like you are inside the Amazon with all the greenery decor. The menu seems foreign to most English and Spanish speakers because the native language of Brazil is Portuguese. So the first thing I wanted to order was their Pastel de Nata ( Portuguese egg tart ). It was so creamy and bit flakey and not too sweat and topped with cinnamon. Then I had to try their Favela ( The slums) Açaí with crunchy granola and it had blueberries , kiwi , strawberries and sweeten with agave ( I wonder if it had tequila?)It was refreshing and tasty. The berries were very juicy. They also have the savory fried cheese bread called the " Pao de Queijo . This is a good spot and a hidden gem for Brazilian treats like the Brazilian Carrot Cake. I am what you call an San Francisco Urban Dweller went the Brazilian spot which has Açaí with toppings like Goji berries, Vanilla Whey and "Nutella "my Açaí bowl had agave, berries and granola it was called the " Favela" Brazilian Italians say the taste is "bella "and in San Francisco you know it's good when you ask an SF Native how good does it taste they respond "Hella" so try their tasty Portuguese egg tart topped with cinnamon but the word for cinnamon in Portuguese is "Canela"

The Brazilian spot is close to 23rd and Valencia in the Mission known for its amazing Brazilian food. I was really happy with the service, it was great that they also speak Portuguese too! I came by for lunch. The space has lots of seating and natural light, I really loved that. I got the Favela Açaí bowl, pão de queijo (cheesy bread), and of course a brigadeiro (a creamy chocolate "truffle"). The açaí bowl was so big and fresh!! I was so happy with all the fresh fruit toppings. The pão was very good, not greasy, it was cheesy salty delicious. I saved the brigadeiro for dessert and it was such a great sweet treat- almost like caramel in the middle. I highly recommend Brazilian spot, I noticed there were local Brazilians who also enjoy eating there as well! I will be back soon with friends!

Little post shop snack. Came here right before they closed on a sunday. they had a few pastries left. I got the pan de queijo. It looks they have a brunch buffet with hot food earlier in the day. They also have frozen pan de queijo which I might come back to stock my freezer cause I love them.

the food here was so so good, I think it was one of the best Acaí bowls I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered some of the buffet style cuisine and said it was also delicious. The cashier and employees were all very sweet.

Summer solstice is about to kick in this year, but the warm weather is already here, even in Valencia St of Mission District. When it comes to ice cold sweet treats, I start with an açaí bowl as a way to savor colorful fruits and have a healthy lifestyle. Looks like yogurt parfait, but with a plant based alternative. Plus, based on the expanded menu option, I can choose whatever fruits and condiments that make my customized energy bowl so berry Brazilicious! Goji berries are dried like raisins; but once I chew them, they're the same as granola when they stick onto the crowns of my teeth. These types of berries are frozen solid for so long that it's best to chew slowly. The service in Café Valencia goes well; it's better to give a tip to show how much you love anything that's Brazilian. Might come back for another day just for an açaí bowl since it's my favorite sweet treat.

Best açaí place in SF! This place is so cute and inviting. It's been on my list, so I went on the weekend after a workout class. I ordered the Favela bowl without bananas and with agave drizzle rather than condensed milk and dined in. With the first bite, I knew this place was legit. Only one other place (Corner of Brazil in East Bay) have I gotten açaí this good and fresh. I enjoyed it very much, and each bite left me wanting more. Can't wait to come back for another bowl and maybe a pastry or two next time!

Walked in for bottles of water. We then discovered that they sell hot food, salads, Brazilian cheese breads and other specialties. If we hadn't already ate lunch, we would have brought some hot food to share. They have a small area where you can eat inside, too. Great store for convenience items and Brazilian food. The little photo wall in the front is very insta friendly. Service is friendly and the ambiance is clean and tidy.

Ever drive by a place hundreds of times without even noticing it? Maybe you were too busy jammin' in your car. Or, breaking your neck staring at a PYT (creepy!). Or, cooing over the cutie on all fours (*raises hand*). Café Valencia (FKA Mercado Brasil), a Brazilian café and small grocery store is one of those places. I've driven by hundreds of times but never noticed it. It was only until I was yelping for Salgadinhos (Brazilian savory pastries) did I come across Café Valencia. They've been open for over 15 years in one of the SF's hottest neighborhoods and with less than 90 reviews...what's up with that? Café Valencia is open for takeout and dine-in. No outdoor seating. M E N U * Açaí bowls, salgadinhos, sandwiches (made w/ pão de queijo), tapioca crepes, smoothies, juices, coffee, and tea. Gluten-free friendly. G R O C E R Y * Beans, rice, condiments, pickles, oils, cookies, crackers, candies, etc. Don't forget to check out their freezer section for frozen pão de queijo. F O O D: https://bit.ly/3lFEzGb (Favs listed in order) * Pão de Queijo: Brazilian cheese bread ($1.75 each) Warm and delicately crisp on the outside with a deliciously cheesy and chewy, stretchy center. One of the few gluten-free items that I love that doesn't taste like punishment. * Emapada de Frango: Baked pastry w/ chicken, olives, heart of palms, corn ($4.90) Flaky empanada with a savory chicken filling with a touch of sweetness from the corn. Not a fan of olives so I was glad the one I received didn't much. * Beef Stew Tapioca Crêpe w/ side salad ($9.90) It was my first time trying a Brazilian crêpe and it was interesting. The tapioca crêpe has a crispy, gritty exterior almost like sandpaper (ok, not the best description but it's pretty tasty) with a nice mochi-like chewiness. The beef stew (shredded) filling was very salty though so I would try the cheese and guava one next time. Eat this ASAP as the crêpe's texture hardens quickly. It's served with a side salad - handful of mixed green topped with croutons and with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. * Coxinha: Brazilian chicken croquette ($4.90) The coxhina was chockfull of creamy shredded chicken filling but it was still cold in the middle with curdled cheese. I was on my lunch break so couldn't warm it up. S E R V I C E Friendly and prompt. You can see the smile behind the mask. A M B I A N C E No frills. Counter/high top seating only. P A R K I N G Challenging street parking. Guerrero is your best bet. Overall, I'm glad I found Café Valencia on Yelp and it will be my go-to for Pão de Queijo. This small business could certainly use some love; if you're in the area or passing through, give Café Valencia a try!

Great store, great customer service. Whether you're looking for a bite to eat or perhaps you want to buy some goodies to take home and make later. This is my place to go everytime Im in the Bay Area. If you haven't tried yet, the Avocado Smoothie is delicious! Accompanied with some TAPIOCA (savory or sweet) is just perfect. Be prepared to look for some parking as you probably already know, it is chaotic to find parking in San Francisco sometimes, and pay your meter I will be back!

Casual but upbeat Brazilian cafe - the aux is all fire Brazilian music, I was uncannily bopping my head the whole time I was there. Don't let the casual buffet setting fool you though - the food in the buffet is so delicious. The buffet is pay-per-pound so you can get as much or as little as you want. The options in this restaurant are definitely more meat-centric. If you are vegan or vegetarian there are some options here but I would definitely recommend this more for the SF carnivores. Because of the self-serve buffet style, you can get your food pretty quickly. Next time you pass by this place, definitely take some time to check it out! It won't delay you much at all and you'll get to eat some quick but delectable Brazilian food. I also highly recommend the Coxinha pastry - it's a savory breaded pastry with chicken and cream inside.

So yummy! Enjoyed their buffet. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Yummy play rain and breaded items were delicious

I got the Bay Blend and it was the perfect combination with berries and bananas, some granola and cacao nibs spread on top, and a delicious açaí, pitaya, and chia pudding base. Açaí bowls tend to be on the pricey side, especially if you get the large size, however, I got a small one and it was actually a decent amount for me. I noticed that they do have a lot of orders, so you might have to wait a few minutes, but overall it's not too bad. What restaurant staffs two people at a time on a weekend??? How are employees supposed to keep up with demand and be able to take breaks? It feels like the owners are money hungry and uncaring about staff health and happiness. My friend and I went to grab bowls before heading to the park today and it took an hour and 20 minutes to receive them. And that absolutely wasn't because of the employees, who were working themselves to the bone to keep up with demand. Customers and especially delivery drivers were getting increasingly rude and irritated with the employees as the wait times got longer and longer; the employees were as nice as possible as they responded to people demeaning them and drivers arguing with them. The owners need to get a grip and provide appropriate staffing or allow employees to pause delivery services when they're slammed. Just because people will keep buying your acai bowls even after a bad experience like this, doesn't make it right that you treat your employees so poorly. They deserve better!

DO NOT PAY FOR DELIVERY…read more We paid extra to have our order delivered to our hotel and used the restaurant's order-ahead option. We scheduled the delivery for 9:20 a.m., but by 8:40 a.m. the app showed it had already been delivered. The problem? There was no food at our hotel room. I tried contacting the delivery driver by text, but never received a response. It was incredibly frustrating, especially after leaving a generous tip. We later found out the driver had left the food at the hotel but never told the front desk which room it was for, even though they had all of the delivery information. As a result, our food just sat there until we eventually had to go down and get it ourselves. In the end, I paid for a delivery service that I never actually received. Instead of enjoying the convenience we paid for, we had to track down our own order. Based on this experience, I would not recommend paying for delivery. If you're ordering from this restaurant, save your money and pick it up yourself. I paid for a service, but I did not receive what I paid for. Then to make it worse the breakfast sandwich was just OK. Nothing to write home to mom about. To say the least we will not be ordering her again and would not recommend this restaurant.
