Stopped by The Breakfast Bar today for some brunch! We were seated right away on a Sunday morning at 10am. I ordered the chai latte to kick things off and it was delicious!! Amazing chai I ordered the chicken breakfast plate and absolutely devoured it. I loved the homemade biscuits and potato pancake. The biscuits melt in your mouth and the potato was cheesy and perfect. The chicken was crisped to perfection. I really enjoyed my meal. My boyfriend got the BB sliders and loved them. The gravy on both of our meals was to die for!! Overall we loved everything that we ate. They were quick to bring out a range of sauces when we asked and the service was great. Our food was brought out fairly quickly as well. Overall I highly recommend the breakfast bar for brunch!! Such good food and I loved the big portions. read more

So we visited The Breakfast Bar two days in a row as we are staying next door here for Warped Tour. Yesterday we came in and the service was amazing. We got our food and drinks exceptionally fast. Everybody was friendly. The food was delicious. We came in for a second visit and they seemed more busy than yesterday. We waited about 20 minutes for our table and were allowed to order drinks while we were waiting outside. They did take quite a while to take our order after we sat at our table. We did get our drinks fast, but we were waiting for our food. We approached the bar for another drink round and to let them know we were still waiting for our food. The staff were very apologetic and let us know. That they were experiencing some technical issues with our order going through to the kitchen and that they were going to comp our meal. Multiple people came out to apologize about our inconvenience, even the manager.. Several members of the staff did sincerely apologize to us as they expect to be able to satisfy their customers in a prompt manner. Because of this, we will be returning tomorrow before we head out. We were not expecting a full comp of our bill, but we were very appreciative. read more

Everything about this breakfast place is exceptional!! I am in LOVE! My friend and I have decided that we are going to make our way through the entire menu...we are over achievers! I have only been here twice, and both times were amazing! Everyone is super cool! Jorge was our server both times, and both times he was also amazing!! He has such a great happy energy, and loves the menu items too, b/c when you order he lights up and shares his thoughts-he is about it! First time we had the breakfast burrito, and the Eggs Noni-delicious. Second time, we had the Love-Lee Chicken & Waffles, and Uncle Marcee's Omelet Casserole....OMG OMG OMG! Whatever is happening in that casserole is beautiful! While the food 100% stands on it's own, the sauces take the food to another delicious level! That syrup that you see on the back of the plate with the chicken and waffles, is no ordinary syrup....I was going to put my straw in it. And then there was Nana's gravy and this apple cinnamon cheese spread! I could barely concentrate!! :) There is street parking, and you can park next door at the hotel, but it gets busy quick!! read more

Wanted to try out this place for brunch! I ordered the waffle combo. Hands down, one of the best waffles I've had! I can't wait to go back to try their fall breakfast menu. We arrived around 12:30 pm, and it was pretty busy. The wait was only around 20-25 minutes. We were able to order drinks and wait outside. We got a Michelada and an espresso martini. The espresso martini is amazing! I had to get 2. We also got their cinnamon toast crunch shots, and they were soooo good! They had tables inside and outside. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were so nice. You can tell that the 2 bartenders have really good chemistry working together. For food, we got the deviled eggs, the BLT, and the breakfast burrito. The deviled eggs came in 6 halves. The mustard was a little bit overpowering but overall good. The BLT and burrito were both super filling, and we couldn't finish them. read more

How to start this review. 1) The food is very good, only down side is the biscuit is hard even if you put gravy on it. I had the fried chicken with eggs, potato cake and a biscuit. My father had a single biscuit covered in gravy and even piercing it with a fork, but it still had a crunch. 2) The service was great. The location is tiny, so if you're a bigger person get a table. 3) The prices are a little high. My meal alone was $21 and a soda is $5. read more

Came to try a new dog friendly brunch restaurant and it lived up to the hype! Although there was a wait, the line moved quicker than expected and got seated at the patio because I had a dog. The seating was a bit close to other tables but that's not an issue. I first noticed the good vibes of everyone there and how good the plates of food looked on each table. The second aspect I noticed was the good music playing, adding to the ambiance and liveliness. The servers were attentive and the menu had a great selection of breakfast/ brunch and lunch items from hot sandwiches, healthy options, decadent entrees and awesome drinks. We got the Saturday and Sunday bottle of champagne and OJ for $22. The three egg omelette with bacon, spinach, mushroom, bell pepp, onion and jack cheese was super filling and tasty with no holding back on those accessories inside. My girlfriend ordered the lemon pancakes with lemon zest custard that melted in the mouth with mashing flavor accompanied with sausage and 2 eggs. It's not over priced and you get even more than what you pay for in my opinion. Highly recommended established Long Beach local spot! read more

I ordered off the kids menu and it was just the right amount of food without the leftovers to store in my hotel. They were very busy so you need a bit of patience but besides that everything was great! I went to The Breakfast Bar on Monday morning. It's a cool little spot -- nothing fancy, but the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Their Eggs Noni was absolutely delicious, and our server, Kelly, was super friendly and attentive. The coffee was decent, and although it was too early for me to try any of their cocktails, I noticed they do serve alcohol. The staff were all wearing "Day Drinker" shirts, which definitely adds to the fun, laid-back atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend this place for a casual breakfast if you're staying in or visiting Long Beach. Probably not the best fit for a family brunch, but perfect for a relaxed morning meal with friends or solo. read more

I just had the best experience at this family owned restaurant with my friend and daughter! Seated right away outside, the hostess was friendly and had a big smile on her face. Both the inside and outside seating areas were very nice. Our server Juan was a sweetheart. The owner, Josh introduced himself to us and told us a little bit about how the place came to be and how some of the recipes were inspired by his family. We got to try a few sides. My daughter's lemon cake pancake was delicious. The biscuits from the breakfast sliders were incredible. The hungover plate.... WOW. I've never had anything like it.. everything was crazy good. Since it was both my friend and my daughter's birthday, they sent us home with chocolate chip banana bread, which was gone the second we went home and opened the box. We are so full. It was so good. We cannot stop eating lol. I definitely want to come back next time I'm in town and want to check out their other spot The Hare! read more

They open at 0600...so it nice to enjoy it quiet and empty ( they play oldies music!!!) Parking is behind at the hotel. Staff is nice. Doesn't have alot of decore everywhere. They have a bar if you want to sit there. The grits have poblano peppers in them, and they were creamy. The shrimp were seasoned perfectly. I've officially found my new favorite brunch spot! I visited the Breakfast Bar for the first time with my aunt and I had such a lovely experience. We arrived at around 10 am on a Wednesday and luckily there was plenty of seating available.The establishment's ambiance is very laidback, cute, and cozy. I like how they offer indoor as well as outdoor seating and I absolutely love how the servers all sport a "Day Drinker" t-shirt as uniform. In fact they sell their "Day Drinker" merch in the form of shirts, hats and hoodies and you know I just had to get a shirt to represent lol. Now onto the food! My aunt and I opted for the "Hung Over" breakfast poutine as a starter and it was 10/10 delicious! The Hung Over is ultimately fries topped with gravy, pork sausage, and other breakfast toppings and I'd literally come back here for this dish alone. For entrees my aunt ordered the popular Eggs Noni which is two egg benedict's on sourdough bread with your side of protein. My aunt was not too fond of the sauce that came on top of the eggs but I tried a bite and although her dish lacked in presentation the flavor was definitely there for me. I've been dying to try the famous Marcees Omelette which is an omelette casserole that you can customize with toppings. I added bacon and substituted my side of fruit for an extra potato cake. I'd absolutely recommend The Hung Over Poutine and Marcee's Omelette and you'd probably be okay skipping the Eggs Noni as it's nothing quite memorable. Overall The Breakfast Bar is a cute local establishment perfect for brunch and other breakfast occasions! Service was great and the food is equally delicious to how aesthetically pleasing the environment is. Give this place a shot and support your local businesses, you won't be disappointed. read more

My first time today at the Breakfast bar, found it from google and yelp and saw some good reviews ( we are not local ) and we wanted to check it out. I definitely recommend sitting at the bar with Nina and Kelley. We shared the Harvest Hash after Nina told us it was her favorite. It was so delicious. Only available during the Fall . As for drinks, we had their Espresso Tini and BYBP , both deserving 10/10.. read more

Visited the Breakfast Bar on a Wednesday afternoon. There is indoor and outdoor seating which are both clean and spread out. My server was attentive and friendly, in fact the whole staff was helpful and kind. I tried the Shrimp Bruschetta Benedict, the Breakie Sammie and the French Toast. The bruschetta Benedict was the most delicious dish I've had in a while, the flavors complimented each other well and the dish was perfectly portioned and not heavy. The potato pancake that accompanied the dish was light and flaky super soft on the inside! The breakie sammie was good, the only comment is that the bacon is very thick. Very filling. The French toast was also tasty! Light and airy served with warm syrup - chefs kiss! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a at home (elevated) breakfast experience. read more

I was excited to discover The Breakfast Bar while visiting family in Seal Beach--always on the hunt for fun new spots. I was seated right away at a four-top and handed a menu with water. It took a while for anyone to notice me, but my server apologized profusely saying he thought I was waiting for someone. Once he served my coffee and took my order I didn't see him except a walk by asking if my food was okay. I ordered the Lemon Cakes Combo: "Mom's famous lemon cake batter made into a pancake, drizzled with zesty citrus frosting and topped with mixed berries," plus two eggs and sausage links. Added rosemary sourdough on the side. Yes, ambitious--I didn't finish it all. Portions are huge. Everything was cooked perfectly and plated beautifully. The lemon pancakes had fantastic flavor but were super crumbly, making them tricky to eat. Halfway through, I needed a coffee refill but couldn't flag anyone down. Ended up walking to the bar, where the bartender pointed to the coffee carafe and had me pour my own. No big deal. Ambience was pleasant, place looked spotless, and the staff were friendly--just felt a bit overlooked overall. read more

This place is the freshest food I've had in California!!! The location is a bit hidden behind a wooden fence so it was hard to find at first, but I found it! If you're coming on a weekend day, expect to wait for a while we waited 30 minutes for a table. This place is busy, which gives you the feeling that workers want to get you in and out fast. The food is good like in other breakfast restaurants. For the Girls watching your hourly figure, they have some food for you as well. Overall this place is a good place to eat. read more

I would rather not review this place because I want it all to myself!!! Can't decide if I like the food or the service more... this place was ridiculously awesome!! The lemon pancakes.. best ever!! The extra gooey sauce was phenomenal. The sausage was the best ever. The bacon was delicious. The sourdough was perfect. The potato/hash brown was interestingly good. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Jorge was one of the best servers I have ever had. He made great suggestions and everything was spot on. He was personable and made the experience phenomenal. Leila was friendly and Carlos was very helpful and sweet! This place ROCKS!! The parking was simple. It's overpriced, $7 for a glass of milk in a plastic cup? Cmon. I lived in the dorms for 4 years , and it reminded me of the cafeteria food. I haven't been back to my college cafeteria and I won't be back here for sure The Cesar dressing for the salad was overly fishy and missing pepper. The double smash burger had no qualities of a smash burger it was just two regular patties that taste the same as what I make on my grill nothing special. I didn't have any alcohol but if I did I'd be more upset about the quality and prices than I already am read more

We ordered for pick up on a Friday morning. The woman that picked up the phone was nice and we were able to ask if it would take long to prepare as we were heading out to Catalina and had a boat to catch. She said it would take about 15 minutes to prepare so we placed our breakfast orders. We ordered a Breakfast burrito ($17.50) and the BB sliders ($17.50). The breakfast burrito was okay. It didn't come with any hot sauce or ketchup. It wasn't dry per say but it lacked flavor. The size of the burrito was pretty decent though. You have options to choose from for your side, I opted for the tatter tots. The tots were crispy and delicious. I may have enjoyed the tots more than the burrito itself, which is unfortunate because I really wanted a bomb breakfasts burrito. As for the BB sliders, my friend ordered this. She said without the gravy it was definitely a bit dry. She said the biscuit wasn't bad, but she wasn't a fan of the gravy. Overall, it was just pretty average for both of us. They prepped the food quickly, and the person helping me with the order and during pick up was nice, but the food just fell a little short for us. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Joshua and Pamela B.

Hi, we're Josh and Pamela Beadel, and The Breakfast Bar has been our dream come true since opening in 2013. We've called Long Beach home since 2002. Our years managing the Vault 350, George's Greek Café, Congregation Ale House, the Conga Room at LA Live, and Brix in Sunset Beach taught us what it takes to make people feel genuinely welcome. We brought all of that into The Breakfast Bar. What started as one location at 70 Atlantic Ave has grown into two Long Beach homes, with our second in Belmont Heights on E 4th Street. Built on four generations of family recipes, we believe great food and genuine hospitality can turn strangers into regulars. That's still what we show up to do every day. We also offer catering and private event spaces for groups and special occasions. The best memories are made around a good meal. We'd love to be part of yours.

It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

It was steady, but when we went up for our first drinks the bar itself wasn't very busy--there were maybe two people in front of us and two behind us. I mention this because it matters for context. My cousin ordered two drinks, one for him and one for his girlfriend. We were talking and at some point I looked at his girlfriend's drink, which was already about halfway empty, and noticed a fairly large crack running across one side of the glass, right above where the remainder of her drink was. I said, "Hey, your glass has a significant crack in it," and she laughed it off and said she noticed and was just drinking from the other side. I told her she absolutely should not do that because there was already a chip near the rim and there could potentially be tiny pieces of glass in the drink. I also told her we needed to bring it to the bartender's attention because that's a legitimate safety issue. Someone who isn't paying attention could cut their lip or potentially ingest glass. By the time we went back up to the bar, it had gotten quite a bit busier. We explained what happened to the bartender and he asked if we got the drink there. We said yes and pointed out the female bartender who had originally served us. He asked what the drink was, walked away, served a few other people, and eventually brought us a replacement. We were completely patient. We understood that the bar was busier at this point, we weren't rude, and we weren't upset about having to wait. What bothered me was when he handed us the replacement and said, "Next time you need to let us know when it happens." That response really rubbed me the wrong way. It's not the customer's responsibility to inspect a glass before drinking from it, and obviously we would have said something sooner if we had noticed it sooner. Considering the bar wasn't particularly busy when the drink was originally made, I was also surprised that a crack that significant wasn't noticed before the glass was served. I did take a photo of the bartender afterward because I wanted to make sure I could identify the person involved when I brought the interaction to management's attention. I spoke with the person who identified himself as the manager and explained what happened. He said he would speak with the bartender, but the response also felt somewhat dismissive given that my concern was ultimately about customer safety and how the situation was handled. Accidents happen and glasses crack. Had the drink simply been replaced and the concern acknowledged appropriately, I honestly probably wouldn't be writing this review. It was the combination of being served a visibly cracked glass, being told that we should have notified them sooner, and then feeling like the concern wasn't taken particularly seriously when I brought it to management that ultimately prompted me to leave an honest review. Beautiful property and amazing view, but the way this situation was handled definitely left a bad impression.

We stopped by late Saturday night and were able to snag an immediate walk-in at the bar at Hao Peng You, which is the intimate speakeasy portion of Midnight Oil. The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Overall, highly recommend checking out this vibey vintage Taiwanese-inspired speakeasy (that my inner history nerd was so excited about), and I'll definitely be back to try their food items as well as their two other bar/restaurant concepts!

They also had an impressive wall of craft beer on tap, but also a bit pricey, especially compared to places not on 2nd street, so there was never a particular *draw*. But then I never actually finished reviewing it, because I'm super behind. Anyway, then also not particularly recently, they launched a happy hour, which at the time, especially for this particular part of Long Beach, was pretty stupidly good, with $5 decent sized smashburgers (6 with cheese, 10 with cheese and also fries), as well as $5 craft beer, pretty much all of them, including the fancy, exciting stuff (exciting if you're a nerd like me, the barrel aged stuff, for instance). Skip forward again to just a few weeks ago, I happened to be attending an event in the general area again, an event that was going to involve more alcohol than food and for which having a happy-hour-timed dinner in the area was going to be useful, so I figured I'd check out whether the happy hour was still there, and it was. At least as of a few weeks ago, the happy hour (3-6 weekdays) was still a thing, and it had gone up a whopping 55 cents per item. Ends up being effectively ~$17 plus tip for a quality smashburger, quality fries and a craft beer, though they didn't have as *many* of the fancy (barrel-aged or equivalent) stuff as they had the first time, they did still have some, and it was still $5.55 for any beer on draft they had. So happy hour wise, that's a pretty good price for this part of the country, I'd say. Obviously only since the burgers and fries *are* also absolutely quality burgers and fries. Not quite as wonderful as my gold standard smashburger at The Stache, perhaps, but still a great smashburger. My opinion on spending almost 20 bucks for what is effectively still just an old fashioned, hasn't changed, though. :p

I wasn't impressed with their new location. I've eaten at their other location and I remember liking it a lot as I host conferences at the Long Beach Convention Center and direct my attendees there as our hotel blocks are all around the area. I live two blocks from the new place, so I was excited to try it. I also connected with someone who works there on Facebook food page, so maybe I had high hopes. Needless to say... I wasn't impressed. We were sat in a nice corner and there we stayed. It took a long while for a server to get to us. We tried to order several times and even the owner passed us SEVERAL TIMES and we could not get his attention. Finally a nice Mario Lopez looking gentleman took our order. I ordered the Country Fried Corn Flake Chicken Breakfast which is a "Full chicken breast battered in corn flakes cereal. Smothered with Nana's gravy and served with two eggs, biscuits and potato pancake." I added a regular pancake to the meal as well. My friend has celiac and we had a hard time finding gluten free options, but we were able to get her a gluten free pancake and scrambled eggs with sausage and veggies. (Veggies are each separate as you just start with eggs and pay individually for each veggie item. It gets pricey!) My chicken was so over cooked and dry and I ordered extra gravy to try and help it. I wasn't enjoying my food so I asked them to sub out the fried chicken for a grilled one as it was like eating rubber with an over fried crust. The gravy was tasteless. My friend and I both were unhappy with our meals and had to send things back. The server has recommended the Bloody Mary which my friend ordered not knowing it was $17! So next time she would appreciate a heads up. No one came to check in on us, or connect with us on any level and a discount wasn't offered as is done on most places when the food isn't cooked properly. We just felt like dispensable customers. To add insult to injury, the two much older women next to us began talking about us and smirking--literally smirking and looking at us with the ugliest expressions when we got up to leave. I'm recovering from a car accident and limping, and my friend had double knee surgery. So perhaps we looked a sight, but that isn't a reason to be blatantly rude. Not the restaurant's fault--but it still added to our very unpleasant experience. So yeah--I'm not sure I will go back despite my high hopes and how close it is. A friend and I popped in one morning on a breakfast adventure. Our server was fantastic, made recommendations, and was extremely friendly and accomodating. We could tell he loves his job. The barista was also very attentive and asked for my feedback on the espresso he made for me. (I told him it was decent and I'd order it again.) The service gets an A+. The food... is something to write home about. My friend said "one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten!" and she is a chef of 8 years. I agree with her and I've been eating breakfast all my life. Bring your friends and family here to show them how much you love them. We ordered a variety because there were too many things we wanted to try. Breakfast Sliders - We ordered them with sausage patties, which I think were homemade. The biscuits were made from scratch, as was the gravy. Perfect eggs, perfect seasoning, each bite a perfect bite. Eat them fast before they get cold. Omelet Casserole - We're foodies so we added bacon, spinach, and mushrooms to ours. The bacon was nice and thick and caramelized. The best parts of the casserole were that it is customizable, and you end up with a crispy cheese ring around the edge of your dish. NOM! Lemon Cake Pancake - Divine. Amazing. Simple genius. I dream about this pancake and want to try to duplicate the recipe... so I need to eat it about 100 more times in R & D. About every other weekend or so, I'm making it my quest to try out a new breakfast spot since it's my favorite meal of the day. Since it's close the beach and parking can be an issue in Long Beach, we decided to meet up at my friend's place and walk over - about 2 miles. After the walk, you could bet I was super hungry and the long line was a bit discouraging but luckily a spot opened up just in time and we grabbed it. Service was quick and prompt which was greatly appreciated after that walk. We got ice waters and coffee to start and then decided to get the signature dish - Uncle Marcee's omelet casserole. The omelet casserole is a mixture of bread crumbs, an egg and milk mixture baked and then topped with bacon and avocado served with a potato pancake and fresh fruit. This was so awesome. Everything came together really well and the fruit was nice and ripe. A great way to finish the meal and then the walk back helped burn it off. Cons: the outdoor patio. While it's nice to have a bit of a view, the flies really ruin the meal. They really need to do more about controlling the flies but alas, it's outdoors so you have to sort of deal with it but other than that, great service and a great meal. I recently visited The Breakfast Bar in Long Beach for the first time to celebrate a birthday with a few friends, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! Our waiter, Felipe, was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. He went above and beyond to make the birthday celebration feel extra special, offering great recommendations and ensuring our drinks and plates were always full. The food was absolutely delicious! From the perfectly cooked omelets to the fluffy pancakes and savory breakfast burritos, every dish was full of flavor and made with care. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! Unless you want rude lying customer service, cold food and snail delivery! I placed a delivery order on May 10. Early morning. The delivery was going to take 25-35 minutes. 50 minutes later I had to call and inquire about my delivery. The person who answered the telephoned said that the he was going to check on my order, literally 3 seconds later he said "your order is ready, we are just waiting for the delivery driver" what a joke and a lie. The driver was texting me and telling me that the kitchen was running behind while he was there at the restaurant waiting for my food. I told this to the person on the telephone and asked to speak to the manager, her name was Alice. I told her what had happened and she barely apologised for the "inconvenience" and said, "hopefully your food is good". My food arrived soggy and cold! First time ordering from this low standard food establishment where they lie to their customers and where they have 0 customer service and ethics!!! SHAME!!! SHAME!!! Be very very aware! This business staff really could use implicit bias training. On Sunday May 11 around 10a, My husband and I placed our name down for a table for 6. When it comes to our turn to sit down, the staff refused to let us sit till rest of the party has arrived. So far, the story is all straight and the staff were doing their jobs. Twist- the staff actually allowed a white couple sit down before we did and they were missing half of their party. When we confronted the staff of difference in treatment ( my husband is Hispanic and I am Asian). They explained to me the other group has people looking for parking. I have stated that is true for our party as well. They were parked and in fact walking over. Not only, they accused us of lying, and then the gentleman called me a 'Bitch'. I do not blame the whole business. The food was awesome, our server was stellar. However, this experience has cemented a insurmountable feeling of implicit racism, bias and xenophobia. Brunch? I'm giving this place a 5 star not only because my breakfast was delicious, but because the manager and staff were fantastic. I ordered Eggs N E Way with bacon, potato pancakes and some kinda special rosemary bread. Um, deliciousness all the way. Potato pancake with the Fresh 'n' Spicy Pepper Sauce was unique and tasty. Doug, the manager, suggested the mocha muchaco (hope I spelled it correctly) coffee. Um, wow! I highly recommend trying this one. Thanks for the recommendation Doug. And for my gluten free friends, I saw a few items for you on the menu. Check it out. The atmosphere in the restaurant was quite upbeat and seemed like the staff were all happy to be there. One of the waiters gave a high five to another waiter and then looked at me and said, "Just having a team moment!" I recently came in for breakfast and had a bit of a mixed experience. We were seated right away, which was great, and the service throughout was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is super cute and definitely a nice spot to sit and relax. Unfortunately, the coffee was really disappointing and I definitely need my caffeine for your safety and mine. I tried both a regular coffee and a latte, and neither tasted like coffee at all--very bland and lacking flavor. Definitely something that could use improvement. As for the food, it was just okay. The hollandaise sauce tasted a little sour to me, and overall it didn't really impress--I only ended up eating about a quarter of my meal. That said, the lemon pancakes were actually really good and the highlight of the visit. I'd be open to giving this place another try because the service and atmosphere were great, but the coffee and food could definitely use some improvement. read more

Had my farewell brunch here before I headed back home, we arrived at about 1130am and it was a 25 min wait...thankfully, the weather is always gorgeous here so we sat outside on the wooden benches. They had complimentary cucumber water in the waiting area...it was so refreshing and nice for them to provide that. Once called, we were seated at the bar area...wasn't a huge fan of the seating but since I needed to catch a flight I couldn't afford to wait much longer. I order 2 eggs any style, turkey sausage, potato pancakes and rosemary bread. The turkey sausage was very flavorful but a tad on the dry side. The potato pancakes was tasty but the rosemary bread was the standout item out of all. It was heavenly. I wonder if they sell this by the loaf? They should. In town dropping off my gf at the airport and we were looking for a place to eat so we did what most people do and yelped. I read some reviews about the grilled cheese & tomato bisque so I thought I would try it. NOT GOOD. For a regular guy that eats pretty much anything it was terrible and reminded me of what I got in grade school! Yes it was edible, I ate half because I was hungry but didn't even take the leftovers. There wasn't much cheese in it and probably should have asked for a different dish. Let's move on to the BISQUE !... This was equally as disappointing :( it was more like a chunky warm salsa. The flavor was ok but as far as I know bisque should be creamy. I barely ate any of it. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE - Staff was friendly. I hate to say and give them a 1 star. I been coming here since they opened. The last 2 times have been so disappointing. I don't know if they have new owner or they are under new management. I didn't mind the high price before because the food was excellent and the service was good. But now the food quality is not good anymore. This morning they brought my daughter her order and her French fries were so cold it was life yesterday fries. What was the chef thinking. Just once I complain they fixed the problem. Then my fruit bowl was so discussing, the fruit was so old. I was so thru at this time all I wanted was my check. I waisted $45.00 for breakfast for 2 of us. I'm writing this review as a warning to others after another disappointing experience at The Breakfast Bar. The host's rudeness and disregard for patrons' time continue to astonish me. Today, we were quoted a 15-minute wait, but ended up waiting for 45 minutes! The host seemed put off by our presence, ignoring us while seating multiple parties who arrived after us. When we inquired about the delay, the response was dismissive and unapologetic: "They were here before you." Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated incident. The host's consistent rudeness and lack of respect for customers' time have become a hallmark of The Breakfast Bar. Went to the breakfast bar with my boyfriend on this hot Sunday afternoon. Wait time wasn't bad at all, I called ahead and the hostess told me 30 mins. When we arrived it literally took ten minutes to be seated. We started with the pork belly skewers which had a nice adobo flavor. The fatty part of the skewers melted in your mouth! I ordered uncle marcee's omelette and he got the Caesar salad. The omelette was light and fluffy and with the sausage came a nice salty bite. I enjoyed the potato pancake but it could use a little more "umph". Still it was crispy and went well with the omelette. Overall our visit was a splendid one and we will be back. I'm sorry I just don't get the appeal here . There is always a line , people rave about this egg casserole thing and reviews are generally positive . We had the egg casserole special and the basic breakfast spread ( toast eggs bacon sausage potatoe cake )some orange juice and the food was absolutely bland . Like I had to put salt and pepper on the breakfast food at $13 a plate type bland . I want to say this might have been one of the most disappointing breakfasts I have ever had . This was my 1st time trying The Breakfast Bar and definitely won't be the last. Went on a Thursday around 10:30am ish and was seated right away. Servers were great and very tentative. My husband and I both shared each item we got. The Hung Over (Breakfast poutine) was delicious. The fries were crisp and well seasoned on their own but the gravy that smothered it made it better!! Also came with sauteed peppers and pork sausage. 2nd item we had was the Meatloaf Steak and eggs - meatloaf was very tasty and tender. We went to this restaurant with my classmates and we thought it would be so busy, but lucky us, there was no waiting line. The waiter was attentive and helpful. He prepared a table with seven chairs for us and because the weather was cold he brought a heating lamp. He explained the menu elaborately and asked us if there was any kind of food that we were allergic to or we could not eat. I ordered chicken with waffles. The staff are prompt to serve and friendly. The restaurant has a definite old school cafe vibe, with vinyl booths and a counter. Large windows provide great natural light. It is quite spacious. The one drawback is the noise level...this is a popular, busy place, and with all those folks chatting, the noise level is so high you can barely hear your companions. I would seriously recommend noise dampening efforts.

I ordered the basic breakfast sandwich on a croissant, avocado on the side (I am allergic but my partner is not), and egg fried hard. My avocado came on the side, but when I opened my sandwich I could tell they scraped off avocado that was on it.. the bacon on the sandwich was also quite laughable. It was one very thin slice of bacon. For $17, it's honestly a joke. Thank goodness my avocado allergy is mild (I also hate sending food back, makes me feel guilty for some reason). Mimosas are good, coffee is good. They use coffee as ice cubes!
