Highlights are the grits (for us true southerners), pancakes, omelettes, and my favorite, the burger (perfect griddle prepared, seasoned with some sort of onion flavor). As the name suggests, this is a good little spot for a decent breakfast. It's a lot like a little greasy spoon diner. Nothing fancy but good service and hearty breakfast options. There are lunch items on the menu as well, but if "breakfast" is in their name I don't see much reason to try the lunch options. Like I've already said, don't expect anything fancy, but you will get your standard breakfast options done right. I've had eggs, pancakes, and omelettes here and all have been good. Nice sized portion, served with grits or hash browns, and toast. The omelette has been my favorite. It tasted fresh and had loads of big chunks of fresh veggies. The coffee is also excellent and the servers won't let your mug run dry. read more

I have been going to place for over 5 years now. But today that's it. The owner of the place came to my table and said I had a past due. I got confused and I said ok I might have. The due is $15.33 from sept 16 1:40 pm. I paid her the due because I wasn't sure after I left the place I did some research and it wasn't at all. I was at work all day that day from 9-7. I called her and asked her it was a mistake but she even refuses to listen. On top of that she said its only $15..and she swear that it was me. Where as it was a complete lie. She had mistaken me with someone else. I am not mad about the money but the way she reacted when told her that she was wrong and it wasn't me. Never going back to this pos hole any more where people work with no principles. And i suggest other to stop going to a business as well. read more

The Breakfast Place is our go-to Sunday morning spot. There's really no gimmick to the place. Nothing on their menu sounds exotic or experimental. They give you the staples and they do a great job with just that. There's no crepes or exotic syrups or sprite and grenadine blends. Just the good stuff. The most impressive thing about the establishment is the service. They're all friendly, lightning-fast, and efficient. Orders are always dead-on and refills appear as if by magic. The only complaint I could ever muster about their service is that they're so fast that I cannot finish my Sunday paper before the meal. A meal at TBP is like a good movie you've seen a dozen times: simple, satisfying, and comfortable. I was very surprised when I looked up this restaurant after eating there and saw that it had 4 stars... I don't know if the place went way downhill recently or what, but it was bad enough to make me want to review it when we got home. I don't mind the small town dinner feel, I actually like those kinds of breakfast places, but everything from the food to the coffee to the service was quite bad. First, the coffee was like Brown water - super watered down, cold, and absolutely flacorless. They have basic breakfast fare only on the menu, and what upset me most was that the menu item descriptions are all hyped up on the menu but it is completely inaccurate to real life. For instance, I ordered the "chopped steak and eggs" which was described as sliced sirloin seasoned and sautéed with hash browns, eggs, and toast. In actuality, it is a dry, overcooked, undersea underseasoned hamburger patty. The toasts was bargain brand bagged white bread that you can see clearly because it is on the counter of the breakfast bar. Even looking around at other people's food, it is all white-yellow powdered looking eggs with zero spice or seasoning, no color, and nothing else on a white plate. Very unappealing. Our waitress put the check on our tabke immediately after bringing us our food, which made me feel rushed abd offended, like they were trying to shoo us away quickly. They also never refilled our coffee once. Going to an ihop or waffle house would give you more options. They have nothing special on the menu and nothing fresh. If you want a cute local breakfast place with lots of variety and options and delicious food there are a lot of good places - I like J Christopher's in particular. I've been here twice now. I like small, neighborhood restaurants and I really wanted to like this place. It offers a good selection of omelettes and other breakfast items. But, after two visits I have noticed both times that the omelettes run on the greasy side. The grits just taste like plain Quaker grits that I can make at home. And the biscuits are dry and mostly likely not baked fresh. There just isn't anything overwhelming special here. I've eaten at many greasy breakfast joints, but sadly this one is just mediocre. read more

Disgusting... Don't do this to yourself eating here. I had NY steak and eggs. The steak looked like rubber and once cut into, even worse. The meat was raw and impossible to cut as well as to chew or eat. The regular steak and eggs is not even steak, it's hamburger meat. My wife had the spinach and cheese omelet with hash browns. It was mostly water on the plate and the has towns may as well have been taken out of a frozen bag and microwaved for 30 seconds. Just don't go here. This place is perfect if you're trying to clog your arteries and have a heart attack. They offer next to zero vegetarian options and don't even have fruit. What kind of a breakfast place doesn't have fruit? So if you are a typical person living in Georgia you'll love it, but for those of us trying to take care of our bodies and health not so much. Prices are super cheap though... just wish they had like vegetarian sausage and some damn fruit. Someone translate this into Chinese for me so the owner sees it... I'm not a fan of long lines, not for basic food. I was just hungry while hanging out on Tybee Island, so I had to try the place out. Yes, they are fast, quick and everything else associated with the word fast, such as swift, rapid,, hurried, brisk, lickety-split and speedy. But I rather they slow it down to make sure my eggs are prepared the way I ordered it. Not runny, liquefied , not for scrambled eggs..nah! This place is basic, tight seating. Being that it's on Tybee Island, your choice is limited for another breakfast place. If you like waiting in line to be socialble with octogenarians go for it. read more

Sorry service & a side of attitude this morning. I'm aware that I shouldn't expect a fine dining experience in a place such as The Breakfast Place, but I do expect to be waited on. When you walk in and sit down and wait because the employees are busy chatting with each other, it's rather annoying. Thereafter another party came in and sat down, and then after a few minutes the lady took menus to that table, but not me. I had to ask if she was going to wait on me and she got snippy. I got up and walked out. This is not the only place you can get breakfast in the area, they should remember that. And the employees should learn to do the jobs they are getting paid for and wait on customers rather than standing around chatting with each other. read more

If you enjoy bland food this is the place for you! I ordered a waffle and husband ordered pancakes. Both had no flavor and the pancakes were gummy. Even syrup could not save them.
