Horrible customer service and overpriced for what is served. No prices advertised "due to economic times". That's weird since other business locally are able to show pricing and not take advantage of our community and tourists. I would never recommend this restaurant ever. The food was cold, soaked in old oil, and burned. Sad meal for a special birthday girl turning 9. The staff was rude and made excuses for everything. Don't waste your time. If you like diner's this is the place for you. They have large portions. The food was great my husband had a Turkey club and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. The fries looked to be hand cut and cooked to perfection. I think it was a moderate pricing. I would recommend it to anyone that understands it is a small dinning area and isn't afraid of deep fried food. read more

We love coming to the Bridge Restaurant! From there homemade soups, especially the French Onion to the desserts.

Here's a tip before you guys read my review: Walk in and talk to the waitresses because they're too incompetent to come to you. So, I drove from Wisconsin all the way over here and was hoping to grab something to eat because I was so hungry. I walk in to the front lobby and see this huge sign that read: "Please wait to be seated", so I wait. I waited for about 5 minutes and within that 5 minute span, the waitress takes a look outside the door and sees me sitting there, patiently waiting to be seated. She walks away. TWICE. I then proceed to make eye contact with her the third time around and she STILL walked away. At this point, I'm tired, starving, and furious. I walk out before my temper gets the best of me and say a bunch of things and cause scene. Mine the fact that this was all 10mins before closing so they probably just ignored me in hopes that I walk out, which is exactly what I did. So obviously, I didn't get to try their food, so I can't review the food. All I know is that I've NEVER been BLATANTLY ignored like I was here. Seemed like a nice, fun place to eat, but... Passing through on our way to Burlington. The wait staff here must have a sport or game with the locals that is called, "who can antagonize each other the most?", while we ate here, we witnessed so many deliberate verbal jabs and physical 'menu whacks' between the older waitress and her customers we thought we'd been transported to an SNL skit. That said, the food was reasonably priced, very fresh and homemade. The soup of the day, a tomato macaroni Hamburg soup was delicious. Each of our entrees were tasty and well prepared. I had breakfast here the service was good quick with coffee , I hade a bacon egg and cheese omelet for being in cheese country there was only two pieces in it. The bacon was ok but instead in being in the eggs it was flooded in the center. Good thing my wife ordered home fries they were very good. I might go back again read more

Pleasantly surprised! From the outside, the restaurant is nothing special, but my family and I had a great meal. I wanted to get there for breakfast, but we missed it. This place is great! My boyfriend and I are away on a secluded vacation and needed somewhere for dinner. We came in at 7:30pm not knowing they close at 7:30 (Google was wrong!). I just wanted a creemee. When they handed me the small I ordered my jaw dropped in disbelief. No wonder I rarely see someone at this creemee stand. Small was a generous term for what I was given. And when I mentioned that it seemed awfully small the counter girl claimed that was the size it was supposed to be. I'm sticking with the creemee stand further up rt 17 where a baby size is four times more than the amount of the small at the bridge restaurant AND costs less. read more

Didn't care for this restaurant at all. The food is greasy and wasn't hot by the time we got it. The waitress who seated us was rude and we didn't dare ask for another place setting. We took one from one of the other tables. We won't go back. There is a much better cafe not far into New York and the waitresses aren't rude. read more

Had breakfast here 3 days in a row when camping nearby. It was fabulous. This is a small place with maybe 20 tables, but loaded with charm and a friendly staff. The food is excellent. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and you have a choice of potatoes: deep fried or grilled home fries (with or without onion), both were very good. Ham and sausage were excellent, and I recommend the home made bread. I think one breakfast could have been enough to share since the portions were very large! Coffee was fresh and good, and they have a great selection of specialty tea. They even heat the tea cup so it stays hot! Orange juice came in a chilled glass. The home made pies in the display case looked so tasty I was tempted to order a slice for breakfast, but I didn't. I'm sure they were as tasty as they looked, since everything here was top notch. We thought it was a little expensive at approx. $10 per breakfast of 2 eggs, meat, potatoes,toast, coffee or tea, and juice, but worth it considering what we received! read more

Loved this gem of a restaurant/diner. The service and homemade food was quality. Our waitress greeted us warmly (even though it was packed) and knowing we were rushed to catch a flight out of Burlington, hurried our order in the kitchen. Eggs were tasty, light and fluffy, perfectly cooked. Actually all our meals were perfect, especially the strawberry shake! We ordered the works:eggs, homefries (given the choice of deep fried or grilled), blueberry pancakes (little, juicy blueberries, not big, tasteless clodhoppers) with REAL maple syrup (regular syrup was also a choice). On our way to Lake Placid for a restaurant industry event and found, what seemed to be a little gem. Cute and a bit busy at lunch- always a good sign. Ordered the Bridge burger, instead of the regular burger, because it was described on the menu as " a 7.5 ounce burger." It was double the price, but that is a BIG burger ( I have had half-pounders before). There was a bit of a wait, but we figured you have to cook a big burger longer- so, no big deal. The waitress brings our food to the table and the burger is a normal little burger on a normal store-sized bun. You can't get a nearly half-pound burger on a little bun. It didn't stick out beyond the size of the bun and I notice that it was the same size as the cut-in-half patty on my wife's Hot Hamburger Open-faced sandwich (which was on the small-side itself). I told my wife that they gave me the regular burger by mistake. And asked the waitress, quietly in the waitress station, who said that it was the Bridge Burger. I said that it may be, but it is nowhere near 7 - plus ounces of burger. I later suggested to my wife, that she imagine two-quarter pounders, and that is the approximate size of a 7.5 ounce burger. To prove her point, the waitress stopped while delivering the next tables food and took the top of the bun off of the guys burger and scolded, "this is the regular one!" I had to hold back my laughter- it was the same size as he one that I got. I didn't make a scene or anything- other than the waitress stopping to display the other gentleman's burger (kinda gross) and I still tipped her. Waiting for my bill, I saw the cook and the manager talking and peering at me through the kitchen door glass...Who dares question our 3.5 ounces patties?- and I Am being generous with that estimate. I have known and been coming our family to this wonderful little restaurant for many years now! the best darn hot turkey sandwich or roast pork, real mash taters, and fries, the pies are out of this world try the maple chiffon to "die for"!. the salads are wonderful 1/2 toss-1/2 fruit, spaghetti, and so MUCH more. The staff is quick, very joking and friendly, know what many customers want to order before they even say it! My husband, two teenage kids and I stopped here for dinner on our way to Burlington. The portions are huge, the place was clean and the service was very good. The best meal on the table was a fried fish fillet sandwich. It had fresh lettuce and tomato and the batter was nicely seasoned. The roast beef in the french dip sandwich was thick, pale and chewy. The homemade fries were overcooked but the soup was good. I think the Bridge would benefit from less quantity and more quality of food. My English relatives were visiting nearby - they had read about The Bridge, especially their maple cream pie, it was 'not to be missed.' So we all went there in the late afternoon to have a bite to eat and then finish up with some fantastic pie. The waitress was a total trip, like someone out of Durgin Park, snappy and rude but perhaps underneath a heart of gold? not sure about that part. She was quite rough around the edges... but the hard part was my dad who is 89 (he was the reason my relatives were visiting, primarily) has trouble eating and we wanted to order him the mac and cheese (one of his favorite things and easy to chew) from the kid's menu - but she wouldn't hear of it. Said she'd be in trouble 'with the boss' if she allowed it... So he got something he couldn't eat. My relatives thought Americans were more flexible than this... so this was a shock to them. Poor Dad! did his best.But it left us all with a bad taste in our mouths... The pie was just ok. The better pie is the coconut cream. And the prices...they were just ok. There were so many cars in the parking lot, we thought it must be pretty good. We had lunch. What we got was disappointing - cold mozzarella sticks, rubbery chicken, burnt bun, soggy fries, a dry piece of turkey with gravy that couldn't make it moist. Also there was no air ventilation and the whole place was really hot. Its a tiny place and it was busy, so maybe they were just off when we went. The service was great though, but just underwhelmed by the food. I think in the future if I'm in that area and looking for food, I'll take the extra 10 minute drive and go to Vergennes to find a bit to eat. read more
