We stopped here about 5:45pm on a Saturday to get a snack before heading to the park strip for the Craft Beer Festival Summer Edition. Before reaching the entrance we could see their outdoor seating was completely full. I figured there should be no reason we wouldn't be in and out just quickly grabbing a few things from the bar. Boy was I wrong. This place is definitely divey. Upon entering they had a sign that said they were having problems with their CC machine so you had to pay cash or use their ATM. You were asked to seat yourself. They have lots of cocktails and they are very reasonably priced at $7. I ordered their drunken ocean water cocktail and my spouse had a panty peeler off tap. We also ordered a single order of appetizer wings. We immediately noticed the star of the Broken Blender team was their one and only bartender who seemed to be doing a ton of multi-tasking in addition to trying to motivate team members. He was doing his best to be professional but anyone able to read between the lines could tell he was overworked and over it. He was accommodating but his tone was one of irritation. Many workers came behind the bar discussing personal matters, interactions with other customers, and wiping off their dripping sweat in plain view. It wasn't a professional environment. At one point a customer who sat towards the back came to the bar to let them know she had been there awhile and hadn't been served yet. Very awkward and cringe during some moments. The place had a weird smell and wasn't the cleanest. I wanted our wings so we could leave. After being done with our drinks for 5ish or so minutes I ask the overwhelmed bartender if someone could check on them. They came out shortly after that completely over salted. We had to order more drinks just to take them down. Skipped the cocktail this time and tried a pineapple cider on tap made by a local brewery. It was light and perfect. We quickly paid cash and left. My spouse and I had a mini argument over the $20 tip I left. I honestly just felt bad for the bartender. I don't plan to return here. read more

This place could be really cool but seems to be struggling with covid issues and understaffed. One hour and 30 min wait for food. Went a few times to watch the burlesque show. It's nice that they have a good venue, but the food was horrid, bland, untimely, and plated awfully. I'm sorry but hard pass. read more

What's broken here isn't the blender. Showed up at 8:15 pm and after ordering wings, tots, and a burger, we didn't get our food until 9:15. My food was not quite warm, as well. Our waitress wasn't on top of our order-she had to be reminded. Instead, she was socializing with certain patrons and neglecting her customers. Not only did we see customers leaving, one made a comment that they've waited for 40 min for their food, and given my husbands wings which were sitting on their table for 10 minutes. The only good thing out of it was our food and a drink were given free/ discounted. I only see this place as a drinking spot- not for dining. I would've rather waited an hour or more to eat at State 49. read more

Food presentation and portions were terrible, and didn't taste that great. My alcoholic beverage even tasted like dirty water. I want to like this place as the businesses in this building have been successful before...but they have a lot to work on. read more

In Anchorage for vacation and decided to try this place out. Service was good but the food (Mac and cheese) was room temperature. At my request they reheated, but it only reached a slightly warm state. That was disappointing, especially because the food had a good taste. The other thing that disappointed me was the mixing of the Manhattan I ordered. The vermouth, not the bourbon, was the dominant taste. read more

I had the pork belly sliders and a baby blue margarita, my wife had the lil fancy burgers and a watermelon cosmo. It was all fantastic.

Seriously this place is gross. Staff are slow and probably high, smells like dirty. The food was greasy, tasted like it came out of a smelly freezer... don't waste your time at this less than a shitty dive bar, also heard the boss (manager) shitting on her employees... sad! read more

We were excited to go to trivia night at The Broken Blender for some fun and entertainment. It was great weather, so we headed out to the patio. We were informed we couldn't play trivia after all because they limit the amount of teams. Wish we would've known that before scoping out a table. Oh well, we will just go ahead and eat and drink anyway. Unfortunately, that was a bad idea. Although our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, the amount of time we waited for our food and drinks was unacceptable. Everyone's food was below par. The charcuterie board, at $28, was not worth the price. There was an ample pile of tiny pieces of pecans on the board though, if you like those. read more

I really want to like this place because I like coming to trivia on Tuesday... but the food is just missing the mark. I had a salad with the "steak" on it. I have never, ever seen a steak like the one I got. It looked fake. The second time I got the chopped salad that was supposed to come with cucumber, bacon, gorgonzola, etc. I think I found two pieces of each of those things in the entire salad. I basically paid $19 (I added the 4 pieces of dried chicken breast) for a bowl of lettuce. Last night when we went they were out of a ton of things which is annoying. The serving staff killed it though! Super on point and I was never without a drink which is of the upmost importance. I just hope they tighten up their menu and maybe add some more finger food type items for trivia night because the table is full. read more

Food was ok, but not great. I'm told they are new & haven't been been open very long. Very good selection of draft beers. Can't recommend dinner, but probably a very good place for drinks & appetizers. read more

Not impressed they were understaffed due to a concert but the The Rock Margarita tasted like an ash tray. Just one sip. The men's restroom were the worst my boyfriend had ever seen. If the restrooms are not clean I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. read more

I ordered the sliders. They were heavily seasoned and amazingly overcooked, they tasted like dried frozen meatballs. I ordered the tater tots as a side they came mostly clumped together but tasted OK (probably frozen tots from a bag). I notified the bartender that these were some of the worst sliders I had eaten in a long time, she just shrugged her shoulders and said she would tell the kitchen. She obviously could have cared less about my experience. The ambiance of the place is subpar as well. There were only 3 people in the entire place so they can't blame it on being busy. To many quality places downtown to come back here. I imagine this place will not be in business very long. read more

Super easy seating but expect the usual Anchorage tourist season relaxed dining experience. The staff at the Broken Blender were amiable to serve a taster of any beer on tap that I felt was questionable for my taste. They really committed as much as they could to my experience. If you love a dill dominant ranch dressing-this place has it. I had a Matanuska Brewing Company Blueberry Ale and a side of perfectly cooked tatertots. It made my day! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Don't believe the image of the burger they advertise. First time here and decided to order the Cajun mushroom burger which was one of the specials. I paid $17.50 for what I expected to be a mid-high tier burger, instead I received what must have been a frozen patty coated in thick seasoning or breading on the top that was grilled and covered in canned mushrooms and wilted lettuce pieces. The worst, grossest, and most unprofessional part was there was no fancy brioche bun like you see in the picture but 2 slices of bottom tier franz wheat bread (the thin kind from the grocery store). Also no fries! I honestly don't know how they could justify charging so much when the ingredients couldn't have cost more than $3. It is absolutely criminal to serve that bad of a food item to a customer and charge them so much for it. I will be contacting a health inspector to let them know to check the place out. I work in the food industry and god only knows how bad the kitchen looks if this is what they're serving! read more

Well, I don't think it was COVID precaution issues tonight as those are gone. It seemed as if they were open with all new staff (I think they are) so I won't be angry but factual. Adult son and I tried the restaurant after a glacier cruise and the guide recommended the place. We waited more than 25 minutes and were never approached. Despite many wait staff looking our way and looking perplexed like whose table is it. Finally as the staff approached a couple that came in from our same cruise 20 minutes after us my son approached and asked for a menu. The waitress got us menus but never returned. We waited about 15 more minutes (without being offered menu/drinks/food) and I ordered Dominos to be delivered to our hotel. I think they truly have no system as the wait staff and what looked like some managers came out within 5 feet of us and peered into a back room area and would walk away. I was angry enough to be snide and make other mean comments but when I got pizza I decided to just say they are obviously new. Web site incomplete.
