Contacted The Bugman and told them of my situation. The scheduler was kind enough to squeeze us in the very next morning! My husband spoke to Marie who was very kind and accommodating and seemed to go above and beyond to make things work for us. We are new homeowners and gutted our home and found some termite trails. Figured we have a professional inspect it. Robert was right on time the next morning and had to wait for us bc we were late haha. He gave us a courtesy call 30 minutes before arrival. He advised us to tap into our one year warranty first (from escrow termite inspection) before going with them to save us money. OMG I APPRECIATE THE HONESTY. We had a Bee in our kitchen this morning. My mother is allergic to bees and I do not want to find out if I am allergic to bees. I googled up the closest wasp exterminator, thinking it was a wasp. The lady on the phone was very helpful and had a great personality. She called around and found a bug man in my area who could arrive within the hour. True to her word Alex the bug man arrived at her home in Torrance within the hour! Alex was in our kitchen less than a minute and found the bee, He picked it up by its wings and said it still had a little pollen in the back hind legs. He brought that bee right on outside where it belongs. The bee is happy to be outside and we are happy it is outside as well! Alex was not even going to charge me for the removal of the Bee, What a great guy! He walked around the perimeter of our home and made sure that we do not have any bee nests living in our walls. As a collection agency, this place is grade A, top of the line! I've never had a collection agency strike the fear of god as well as this one. I've not really had much experience with collection agencies but I'm pretty sure the bugman's organization can win some awards. I has some issues with ants over last summer; they were pretty much coming out of the woodworks so after an initial inspection I signed up for a quarterly service for a year contract just for good measure. After sending the needed financing, their technician came out and took care of our ant problem and a few other things included into the contract, such as cobweb cleanup....AND that was the last I saw or heard from them! For the next 2 seasons after seeing that same cobweb above my porch--I could swear birds were using it as a nest by then--I called in to cancel my service. The lady over the phone convince me that I had one more service in my contract--which I've already rightly paid for--which they won't honor if I cancelled my service right there and then. So I held off on the cancellation and told her to make a note to the technician to let me know when they did come to my house. Again, another season passes without a word. Fall season arrives and well, I now have the pleasure of having the weekly voicemails from the friendly Bugman collector saying that I now owe them for the new service they provide at the new rate since my year contract is over. And yes, that cobweb over my porch is still there. It makes for quite an authentic Halloween decoration! read more

Used the Bugman for years and then felt I didn't need the service any longer. A few years have gone by and I called them again and I got the whole run around about not giving out prices over the phone and they couldn't get someone out tomorrow to do the work just the estimate. All seems a bit odd as this is the same house that they did for years with the same issues - all minor by the way. Called Terminix and they gave me a quote over the phone, honored a $50.00 off coupon and the work will be done tomorrow. Really frustrating and bad customer service Bugman! Made an appointment for a free inspection. They gave us a 2-hour window. They even called a day-ahead to confirm. Jason the inspector showed up about 20-minutes early (which, in my book, is a thumbs up...early is much better than late). He made arrangements to accommodate my kennel'ing my dog by doing as much of the back yard checks (including going under the house) first. Did a good, long check of everything...top and bottom (and, on a hot day no less...). He found signs that our other appointment didn't find (especially under the house...which means I've downgraded their rating by a star). He even advised that tenting isn't necessary, as well as provided the pros and cons. He also explained what the warranty/guarantee covers. Horrible service with this company. I have had two encounters with this company the first time we were getting roaches they, we followed what they had advised us to not only were they extremely rude( I had at the time a new born and couldn't get out of the within a min I asked him if he could give me 5 min to grab my stuff and the baby and the guy responded "well how long are you gonna take? " I repeated my self and said "5 min" he scoffed and smacked his lips and just walked away) and had at least 3 months and still could not get rid of them. I finally decided to call Orkin and not only did they get rid of them the only came out 3 times. The bugman was well aware of the fact that I had dogs my dog got sick and they refused to pay for her care the vet also stated that it was the chemicals used and they still did not care. This time I have rats and the only person helping us is the maintenance man. They walked in to do an evaluation found a rat in the restroom and still did not want to catch it they made they had the maintenance catch it. They advised us that there is not much more they can do besides what the maintenance man was already doing and never came back. I'm only stuck with this company because they have a contract with the corporation that own my building. DONT EVER GET THIS COMPANY ITS HORRIBLE TOTALLY RECOMMEND ORKIN!!!! read more

Her bugman was Mario M. and he was very helpful and patient in explaining to my aunt the process of rodent exclusion. I had lost faith in this company up until EDGAR AND MARIO came to my home today. They sealed up my house properly i didnt have to point out places to them they found them on their own and made sure to take care of it like it should have beenthe first time. I live in a mobile home and it is very hard to completely seal it, but they did an amazing job. They showed up on time they were friendly and professional they went above and beyond to take care of my horrible rat problem and they even did a little extra for no added cost!! On all levels the Bugman did a great job. Robert, the inspector, showed up on time and did a very thorough inspection from top to bottom. He explained the ins and outs of termites, their activity and how to combat them, and the positive and negative aspects of tenting vs local treatment. We chose localized treatment. The technician arrived right on time, explained what he would be doing, where he would need access, and when he expected to finish. A couple of days later the wood repair crew showed up and went to work. They primed and painted any new wood, and left things as clean as when they arrived. Their estimate was the highest of the 3 we received, but the quality of work was top notch and I highly recommend them for any termite service you might need. read more

The Bugman service was outstanding! Our inspector was Robert, who did a very thorough inspection. From the attic to under the house, from inside to outside, he checked everything and explained what he found and what needed to be done. Everything was above board and no high pressure sales. We set the extermination service for the day after Christmas at 10 a.m. At 10 a.m. on the 26th Narciso was at our door ready to do his job. He was professional and courteous. He explained what he was going to do and asked if we had any questions or concerns. He started inside the house then worked on the exterior, after that he went under the house. All the while he cleaned up any dust or mess that came with doing his job. At the end he went over everything he did, asked if we had any questions and the presented the bill. I have used Bugman for many years, the service is always dependable and I have had no problems. The last couple of years I had some wood damage that had to be repaired and/or replaced. Art Gonzalez and Nathan Harrison were the employees that did the last round and they were fabulous. Very efficient and fast. They cleaned up every day and work was perfect. I grabbed a little paint and they painted the boards before they put up and they figured out a way to get at the problem areas. One of the previous reviewers faulted The Bug Man for requiring a "year up front" payment for a termite contract. I guess the reviewer does not understand that when one is buying something resembling a "warranty" or a "guarantee" that one generally pays _up front_. I don't feel it is fair to diss this awesome company for policies that are standard across the industry. These guys are thorough, polite, and fair. That is a rare commodity in this day and age. Further, their warranty covers subterranean termites... try getting that from any of the big companies. $225/year for a house that used to be in an orange grove is a pretty good deal. In the last 30 years I'd wager they've been out five or six times for treatments. You'll never need tenting if you go this route. read more

The Bugman supervising carpenter Tony Rubalcava and his team members ( Nathan Harrison and Rudy Gallegos) did a fantastic job replacing termite damaged wood at my Newport Beach home. The second story fascia board work was particularly challenging because there were seamless gutters attached . The work was completed with no gutter damage. Tony was very respectful and very diligent keeping me informed about the scheduling and sequencing of their work projects. Our guy, JEFF is fantastic! It's all about the technician. We utilize the pest and rodent services. In my opinion, all of these extermination companies offer very similar services with very little differentiation. In my experience, the cheapest isn't always the best option. So the key differentiator is the technician. . . Jeff is the man! He's extremely courteous and professional. He always contacts us ahead of time to give us a heads up and let's us know when he arrives on property. That way we are not startled when we see a person roaming the property. He is extremely meticulous and not a single cobweb is left behind after he leaves. We also like how Jeff is very mindful of pets. There have been times when no one was home or can't answer the door and he won't service the areas that the dog has access to. We really appreciate the sensitivity to the pets. We have never had a problem that warranted a repeat visit. He has also been extremely responsive. We once had a rat run into the garage and immediately snap a Bugman trap. Jeff came out within a couple hours to remove the carcass. He failed to disappoint every time. I really hope Bugman management appreciate the value of "human capital", something that the corporate balance sheet never seems to capture accurately. read more

I have been a customer of The Bugman for years for termite control. I needed some wood repair for old damage but put it off for a while since the cost was fairly high. I finally decided to do the repair and go through The Bugman since I knew they were a very reliable company. Boy, was I glad that I did! They sent out several guys in the morning and started the job promptly. We've used the Bugman's annual termite service for a few years now, and they've always done an exceptional job. But for our inspection today with Narcisco R, he went above beyond. Very thorough walking me through the findings from his inspection. He also told me in advance where he would need to treat our backyard (our 4 year old likes playing back there) to make sure it was safe. Plus because he had worked on the Bugman's in-house repairs team in the past, he shared some really helpful advice on where we may need extra repairs to prevent termite damage in the future. Last but not least, he found a dead rodent on our property (one of our neighbors have had some issues and set out some poison traps recently), which he helped us pick up and dispose of right away. This company has not done a good job for me during the last 3 years. I did not have a chance to fire them until today. They had a contract to spray perimeter quarterly and charge additional $75 for each interior unit. The units are newly built. They never did any good spraying outside, so the roaches went inside. Once they are in, this company did not exterminate them well the first time. They charged me again when they come back the second time. Worst of all, their invoices do not indicate which unit they treated. This is not fair at all. They are not ethical. They are fired! New customers beware!!!! read more

He educated us on what to do to keep pests at bay in between services and recommended products to really keep our family safe. The following week, Rafael took care of the spot treatment and three days later Daniel followed with the replacement and repair of the wood. Daniel cleaned up after all of the wood work and was especially attentive to assuring that the man door to the garage could open and close properly after the repair. Bugman has the worse service that I ever seen in any pest control companies. Please do not waste your money. My yard is full of spiders and rats and bugs; when I ask them about the issues they tell me that they will send someone to check on that, but no more follow up! I send them pictures and explain all the issues, but still the technician usually spends 5 minutes and spray outside and by the time I want to talk to him, he is gone!! I have asked them for last 4 months which I see rats everywhere so add more baits, but nothing changed. Their technicians changes all the time, so they don't know how many baits they have to check and what needs to be done with certain customer! Very stupid! I am telling them why my backyard is full of spiders, they said because they have treated ants for whole summer not spiders! So shall I expect spiders for the whole summer! The supervisor suppose to come and talk to me for last 4 months, but never happened. Very disappointed :( read more

I had Eddie do a termite inspection and found significant deterioration due to dry rot on two large beams in our balcony. He summoned Luis Barron and Daniel Montes to replace both beams and these two guys did an outstanding job. One of the beams was 300 lbs and they figured out a way to get it to the second floor balcony and mounted it perfectly. Kudos to these two gentlemen and to Eddie who did a very thorough review of our house. I have been using The Bugman for the past five years and I have been very impressed with their work.
