Avoid Autobahn Collision Center…read more After damaging the charging port door on our EQS 450, we called Autobahn Motors (where we bought the car) for a recommendation. They sent us to their affiliated body shop, which quoted us about $850. We did our homework and also got a quote from Alioto's Garage in San Mateo, which was slightly lower. Still, out of loyalty, we went with Autobahn. Big mistake. About an hour after dropping off the car, they called and doubled the price to ~$1,700, claiming the EV required significantly more labor. That's something they should have known--and disclosed--before giving an estimate. Instead, it came after they had the car in their possession. That's not a revision. That's a bait-and-switch. We immediately picked up the car and took it to Alioto's. They completed the repair perfectly at their original quoted price--no drama, no excuses, no last-minute surprises. It's hard not to feel like Autobahn Collision Center leans on dealership referrals to get customers in the door, then inflates pricing when the customer is paying out of pocket. Save yourself the time and aggravation. Go elsewhere.

I then came back to Ray to have JP auto take care of it, at which point Ray was already giving me my options and educating me on how to go about this in a cheaper manner, even if it means not working with JP auto, which shows integrity, and again, great customer service. I sat with the idea, and the next day I called and Javier picked up, and he handled the down payment essentially, and the ordering of the parts, and he was great. I communicating to me the turnaround time and keeping me posted. Finally, I dropped off my car, and picked it up within a week, and Jay was helping me get my car out and finishing with the payment process. I'm telling you, customer service was fantastic, and it went such a long way, especially within the auto maintenance industry, where people feel most vulnerable and most likely feel scammed. They fix the bumper and it almost looks like the same shade as before I messed it up, so they did a great job with that, and an addition, they shine my wheels! I was pleased with the estimate and gave him the OK to do the work. He returned to his shop and an hour later he arrived again with an employee and they took my truck to their shop. After several days I received a phone from them informing me that the repair was completed and that they would like to deliver the truck to my home. I was amazed at how quickly they were able to complete the repair. When they arrived at my home with my truck, and I saw their completed work, I was amazed at what a fantastic job they did. I was not looking for a total restoration of my bumper; I just wanted a new headlight installed and the bumper straightened out a little. ABT was the only place that gave me an affordable quote and was willing to come to my house to do the work. I went online and purchased the new headlight as it was way cheaper than buying from Toyota. (I only ordered one headlight kit, but I received two!) ABT actually came out a day earlier than we had originally planned on. Francisco did a GREAT job replacing both of my headlights (so they match...I was worried one would be shiny and the other dull yellow). The bumper looks pretty darn good...much better than I was expecting. My car is old so I would have been happy to duct tape it back together...LOL. They kept in touch via text to let me know when they would arrive. They charged me exactly what they originally quoted even though I had the extra headlight. They completed the work in 90 minutes. Francisco was super nice and polite. I couldn't be more pleased! I highly recommend ABT if you need body work done on your car and would like someone come to you to do the work.

I requested a quote for repair of a bunch of rock chips on the front fender of my car. We met, discussed the plan to fill in the chips with paint, and I understood it wasn't going to look perfect by any means, but seemed like the color would at least be a close match again. Literally 30 minutes later I got a call the job was done and came out to what looked like grayish White Out had been quickly dabbed onto each of the rock chips. I was kind of shocked at how it looked and asked what else could be done to which he basically replied "this color is really hard to match so I can sand/paint the whole front bumper, but it still won't match the rest of the car" so didn't really seem like a solution at all. A few things. I understand there are material costs of doing the job, but for 30 minutes of labor and a poor outcome I think $400 was nuts even though this was cheaper than other quotes. If the color of my car (stock Lexus pearl white) was too difficult to match, he could've just said so before putting paint on my car. Again, if the number of rock chips was too many to fix, I wish he would've just said that before beginning or after the first one. Lastly, I was just very annoyed with the offered "solution". Tony was a really nice guy and I do feel like I went into this with realistic expectations, but now my $60k car looks like it has grayish chicken pox all over the front and I'm pretty angry. Just want to leave this here so anyone else in a similar situation can take a look at the close-up and set appropriate expectations before proceeding.

I recently had both the front and rear bumper on my 2008 BMW repainted. After many year of parking in SF the bumpers were pretty chewed up. Gene did a great job. He was able to fix the damaged portions and blend in the paint for a perfect match. The bumpers are smooth and the new coat of paint looks nice and shinny. The cost is a fraction of what an auto body shops would charge and he did his work in our driveway. It only took him a few hours vs leaving it for a few days at the shop. The bumper looks like new. Gene takes his time and does great work. I also had him restore the headlight on my minivan. They were yellow and all fogged up. They now look like new. Gene first cleans (sand/buff) the lenses and then reseals them. This should last many years and he warranties his work. read more

To top it off, when we picked up the car, we noticed the dashcam had been removed. Jerry only brought it up after we asked, making up a weak excuse about preventing break-ins, only to hand it back to us days later after leaving it inside an unlocked car. TL;DR: Rude owner who resorts to insults and gaslighting, charges absurd hidden fees, and is a straight up CROOK. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.
