This is one of the best breakfast places in NJ. Their location is cute- they have some outdoor seating as well. Their omelets are among the best I've ever had. They do a goat cheese, arugula and sun dried tomato omelet this is unparalleled. Their biscuits are ridiculously good (and so is the butter they come with!) Hence the restaurant name! I definitely recommend coming here but be prepared to wait a bit at busier times! read more

I've come to TBB twice now, and this looks to be a promising option for "where do you want to get breakfast?" The restaurant is BYOB, and the staff has orange juice at the ready for your mimosa. The coffee is bottomless and hits the spot. I'll admit I find the flavor profiles shine more in their lighter dishes - the savory notes you expect in heavier dishes to cure your hangover don't come through as much as I'd like, but lighter choices like The Buttered Biscuit Scramble take you on a journey. There are two main reasons why you should go to the Buttered Biscuit. 1) The biscuits 2) The area (or at least Asbury Park) seems to lack awesome brunch places otherwise. At least that's my impression wandering around on the boardwalk at 1pm looking at puny breakfast menus or places that have moved on to lunch. Back to the Buttered Biscuit. I started with the ice coffee- which is bottomless. Atypical but great appreciated for iced coffee. I ordered the buttered biscuit scramble that was prepared with herbs de Provence, goat cheese, bacon and tomato. Pro-tip: when your hot buttered biscuit arrives to your table, spread the delicious cinnamon butter on it immediately for ultimate melty-ness. You need to make sure your order comes with a biscuit, they aren't complimentary for the table. There is a toast option too...but, why? It's not called the Buttered Toast. The scramble was perfect and had so much meaty goat cheese to spread around. I appreciated the rosemary potatoes versus super fried home fries. The portion was huge and could be your main meal, if not only meal for the day. We went on an extreme off time at 2pm on a Sunday. The space isn't huge and everything is awesome, so I could see this place getting crowded at prime times. They have buttered biscuit candles for sale if you want to take a bit of the experience home with you. read more

Driving from home to the beach for the day, The Buttered Biscuit was our Waze destination. Arriving at 9:45 in the morning, we found two hour parking right across the street. So far, things were good. Our fellow yelpers advised us that the wait could be out the door, but we were seated immediately. Especially, because the woman in front of us was dropped off and her husband was still parking. It pays to have the full party ready. Our server came right over with a coffee pot, but we didn't want hot coffee. We placed drink orders and he went over the specials. Everything seemed really good and I went with the Bavarian cream stuffed french toast, a side of sausage, and I had to get a biscuit. The biscuit came out right away and it tasted like all of the best biscuit places of the south that I've been to. I personally like my biscuits tasting more buttery, but I think the southern places go for flakiness, not being dry, and just being huge. These biscuits tend to taste better with jelly/jam or the cinnamon butter provided by this place. I actually would have loved to have a biscuit sandwich here. Biscuits are one of my favorite things in the world and this one is among the best I've ever had. read more

Food is very good. But for a place named for biscuits, the biscuits are terrible! I had a biscuit a while ago, didn't like them. Decided, it's been a while, maybe that was an off day for the biscuit maker. Nope. Still terrible. Dry, tasteless, crumbled mess. And the butter they give with them is no help. This place came highly recommended so it was the first stop we made as soon as we arrived. There was a bit of a wait to get a table as the placed was packed on a Sunday morning. Went this past weekend with my husband for breakfast and the space is adorable as well as very clean. We were seated right away because we came early before 10 and the waitress got our drinks right away. You have got to try their hot chocolate it's delicious and super chocolatey, definitely not Swiss miss. I got the special that day which was pulled pork eggs benedict and my husband got the Breakfast BLT. Everything was delicious; my pulled pork eggs benedict was not dry at all and full of flavor. The bbq was great and it was a very rich sauce. And their portions there are great. You are most certainly not going hungry here. On a Sunday afternoon, we were in the mood for some good brunch food, so my girlfriend and I came across this establishment. Based off of previous reviews, it looked like it was going to be great. It was only about a 15 minute wait for our table, and we got to sit outside. It was a beautiful afternoon on this specific Sunday, so it was worth sitting outside. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We started out with some coffee and ordering the Maui Megs French Toast. This was banana bread topped with coconut and macadamia nuts. I must admit this was way better than I expected it to be. I knew it would be good from all the positive reviews and it being one of their popular items, but OMG it was fantastic. It just had such a unique twist to it, that it worked. After a little bit, we then ordered a Huevos Rancheros meal and a Dave's Homemade Corned Beef Hash meal. The corned beef hash was definitely some of the best corned beef I ever tasted. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned so good. Everything that came in this plate, from the eggs, to cheese, to the biscuit; just went so well together. We both loved our meals. This place was awesome. An A+ indeed for food and service. If your near Bradley Beach area, definitely come to this spot. Highly recommended by me. read more

Solid option when you want to go out for breakfast but don't want to just go to a diner. The food here is always done right and you can tell it's much higher quality. My past visit was a spur of the moment breakfast with my parents and fiance on a Saturday morning. Surprisingly, we were seated right away, although as we were leaving the crowd had grown by a lot. We started with two pieces of their homemade crumb cake, which is lightly grilled and layered with cinnamon sugar goodness. It was definitely the right start to our meal. For my main, I got the B.E.L.T. sandwich, which is a combination I haven't really thought of before - bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato, with some mayonnaise. Now I won't be able to stop thinking of it. The sandwich is thick with bacon and very slightly runny egg, with shredded lettuce and tomato on top - everything went perfect together. The bacon was crispy, just the way I like it. Overall, a fantastic sandwich. If I could think of one negative, and it's a very slight negative, it was the breakfast potatoes. They were good, but I feel like there was one thing that I can't quite pinpoint holding them back from being great. I think they were either too oily, not crispy enough, or slightly lacking in salt (which was an easy fix at the table of course). The food was so tasty, and like I said the breakfast potatoes weren't bad by any stretch of the imagination, so it really had no effect on the overall meal. I do think The Buttered Biscuit can become one of my go-to spots. read more

My fellow yelpers have nailed this place- The Buttered Biscuit is a lovely, warm and welcoming, and delightful brunch spot tucked along the Jersey Shore in downtown Bradley Beach. If you want to grab a cup of excellent hot coffee and sit casually at the counter, it is first come first serve. If you would like a table, they have a super cute victorian looking dining room that makes you feel like you are out for afternoon tea! This place gets busy, but service is fast and the staff are extremely friendly and make sure you are comfortable as you await your table. The food is incredible. Large portions for a great price, and of course large fluffy biscuits with cinnamon butter that melts in your mouth! I recently had the cowboy omelette, which was on special. It was loaded with cheese and chili and sausage and came with a side of breakfast potatoes, and of course, a biscuit! I was stuffed half way through, but the taste reminded me of real southern cooking.... a taste I haven't had since I lived in North Carolina 2 years ago. All staff from servers, to busers, to the hostess, were truly a delight to interact with. You never feel "rushed" and can take your time sipping your coffee long after you have packed up your meal. The Buttered Biscuit is the perfect place for a date, a morning with mom or dad, catch up with your sister, or even to pop in for a delicious meal by yourself. Really great breakfast with the best corn beef hash in town. We came on a Sunday morning and this place was packed but for sure worth the wait. The pro move is sitting at the bar and not having to wait as long. There were three of us and two out of the three of us ordered the corn beef hash and one got the pancakes all which were delicious. They have some baked goods which are worth trying the brownie was fudgy and moist and recommended by the bartender. The funniest part about this place is that it's called the Buttered Biscuit but Biscuits are average at best. Crazy packed during brunch on the weekends. We came here on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Keep in mind it is byob and there are no reservations. I would suggest come before 11am or after 2pm otherwise there will be a wait. The menu is centered around the homemade biscuits. The southern style biscuits and sausage gravy caught my eye. I will say the biscuits are very good. They are flaky and soft with a good flavor. The gravy was not my favorite and was kind of bland. It needed salt or some other seasoning. We also tried the lemon mascarpone french toast which were ok. They didnt have much flavor either and the lemon flavor was too muted. Finally we had the pulled pork eggs benedict which was on special. I never had an item like this. It was pretty good. I would definitely come back here. Great quick service as well. read more

We came here for brunch while visiting Bradley Beach. It's a popular place for brunch or lunch, it's closed for dinner. We got there around 12:30pm and of course there was a 35 minute wait, but we got seated a little early. Customer service is excellent, our waiter was especially friendly, attentive and professional. There is outdoor seating but we sat inside at a quiet table by the window with room for our beach chairs and umbrella :). White tablecloths on the table, water glasses filled every time they became half empty, bill came as soon as our table had been cleared and we looked ready to go, we didn't have to wave anyone over but didn't feel watched. You usually don't get that level of service unless you're at a high- end place. By 1pm the place was clearing out so if you don't want to wait I'd plan to come around that time. So the food...since it's called Buttered Biscuit you can believe there was a tender, flakey and very buttery biscuit that comes with every dish practically. You can opt for toast instead, but that is missing the point a bit. Since we are trying to eat healthy these days, I ordered my dish with a biscuit and he ordered his with toast, and then we split the biscuit. It was plenty...they even brought us extra side plates, no problem. I put extra butter and jam on mine which was delicious but perhaps a bit over the top. I had the spinach and feta omelette with home fries, and it was made very well..flavorful and also well-seasoned home fries. Perhaps the meal was a bit on the heavy side, but I tend to get hungry on the beach and this set us up well for the day.
