    Corned beef hash
    Rachel B.

Lively little cafe near the shore with a fantastic menu. I ended up getting the corned beef hash which comes with a large biscuit. Hot chocolate had less chocolate flavor and was sweeter than I would have liked, but at least it was made with milk instead of water. There was enough food in this portion to take leftovers home too, a nice plus as I now get to enjoy this hash again for lunch during the work week Would love to come back again at some point!

Buttered Biscuit is so cozy and welcoming! Dave the owner is awesome and Gabby who took our order was just as fabulous! Things to know: - Counter is first come first serve. We got lucky and 3 seats were waiting for us - Street parking - No reservations so wait patiently it's worth it - Get a savory and sweet dish We love starting with the Hot Off the Grill Crumb Cake - this is a must! My favorite was the Copenhagen especially if you like smoked salmon-get your home fries crispy yummmmmmm! Lemon Zest Mascarpone French Toast Delishhhhh Dave's Homemade Corned Beef Hash - this I could have done away with the asparagus but overall very tasty! And they fill you up with coffee the entire time! Great service! Wish this was closer to home but always worth a trip. I'll be back!

We go here a decent amount. I got the veggie omelette and it's so yummy. My husband gets the meatloaf and he loves it. It was packed when we went but service was still great and the atmosphere is quaint !

I had wanted to try someplace new for brunch so I found The Buttered Biscuit on Yelp. The interior is cute/cozy with a nice long counter and merch for sale in the front. We ordered the corned beef hash benedict dish and blueberry pancakes. Food is good along with their coffee. A nice stop for brunch or lunch.

Back again and I wasn't disappointed at all. Service was perfect. The staff were welcoming, attentive and the wait was not too long. This time I ordered from the lunch menu, and I was happy with my choice - Daddy Dave's Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich (Homemade Crab Cake sautéed & served on a Grilled Bun w/ Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and a side of Herb Mayo) everything was fresh and tasty. We also ordered the Ho Cakes - a southern-style corn pancake topped with butter and raspberry jam. Oh my goodness that was delicious. This cafe feeling atmosphere with an amazing selection of breakfast and lunch to choose from, was the perfect start to my day.

Such a cute cafe in a quaint town. We were here after Labor Day and the restaurant and shopping strip were still hoping! They offer outside dining as well as 2 sides on the inside. We called ahead to get an idea of the wait time. It wasn't too bad and we only waited a few minutes to be seated. They have a great menu and our meals were delicious!! I wasn't that impressed with the biscuit that was given with each meal. It was a little dry for my liking. I expected more from it due to the name of the restaurant. And the butter could be more sweeter. But with that said my meal was absolutely delicious!!! I had the Cali crab omelette. AMAZING!! I definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Vegetable Omelet with Home Fries

We came here both mornings for brunch during the Sea Hear Now festival. Everything was delicious. I loved the caramelized grapefruit with strawberries, veggie omelet, biscuits and cinnamon butter, and side of pork roll one day and crispy bacon the other. I loved the mix of sweet and savory. Everyone loved their food and raved about the crab cakes and French toast varieties. It was easy to accommodate our groups of 5 and 9. I would definitely come here again.

This place is a gem! Definitely worth checking out. Fresh ingredients, friendly service, beautiful atmosphere and good prices. We got biscuits and sausage gravy and a crab cake eggs benedict. Both were wonderful, definitely will be back.

The famous grilled crumb cake... You must try this!
    Kimberly S.

I have had this spot on my bookmarks forever because I have been dying to try this famous grilled crumb cake. Thankfully I finally ended up in this area. We got a nice table for two under a big umbrella so even though it was over 90 degrees we were still comfortable. Our server Lori brought us over some menus along with some ice waters and I also ordered an unsweetened iced tea. They had so many good things to choose from but I figured since I was definitely getting some crumb cake I should choose a lunch entree for myself. We were there on a Sunday around 1:30 so it could go either way. They had some really tempting French toast on the menu too. So I decided on the grilled pastrami and Swiss on rye and that came with some coleslaw and a pickle and of course the Homemade Crumb Cake grilled in butter and sprinkled w/ cinnamon sugar. My hubby went with one of his all time breakfast faves Homemade corned beef hash. They had a special that was served with grilled asparagus, Swiss cheese, poached eggs, and hollandaise served with a homemade biscuit with cinnamon butter and jelly. We had our crumb cake first... now I see what everyone raves about. It just melts in your mouth. It's so moist and delicious. I love crumb cake and I think this was the best I have ever had. Then our entrees came out. Everything looked delicious. I put some coleslaw and mustard on my pastrami sandwich and took a bite. It was so good. I was happy with my selection. I asked my hubby how his food was and he said the corned beef hash was some of the best he's ever had and he said the biscuit was great too. So of course I had to sample the biscuit with some of that delicious cinnamon butter and he definitely wasn't wrong. I'm so happy I finally made it here. Our server Lori was so great and friendly and all of the food was so delicious. I'm definitely going to make it a point to be back in this area just so I can try more of their delicious food. Hig

I really like this cafe. The space is nicely decorated and is clean. The menu has a wide variety to choose from. Everything sounds so good. We ordered their specials and it was delicious. Their biscuits were soft and flaky paired so well with the cinnamon butter. The coffee was good as well. The service was friendly and food came out in a timely manner.

So just to be safe, I did make a reservation right when the restaurant opened. Seems to say I played it a bit too safe, I was the only one i there for the first 20-min.! In any case, then dining area was very bright and open, and I was seated near the window, which I enjoyed. I tried three foods, appetizer-entree-dessert, here's the breakdown: 1) Appetizer: Pan Roasted Achiote Octopus ($22) which has Shaved Pickled Carrots & Onions, Chermoula. For 1 person, this was quite substantial and a delicious start to the meal. The octopus wasn't tough, it was cooked perfectly, with a nice char-grilled flavour. Paired up with the accoutrements, it was a 10/10 way to begin my meal! 2) Entree: Grass-Fed Beef-Roasted Marrow Burger ($26) which has Raclette Cheese, Caramelized Onion-Tomato Jam, Fresh Baked Gluten Free Brioche Bun, & Beef Tallow Fries. Why 4-stars? Because of this item. The day I arrived the restaurant was trying their new "Baked Gluten-Free Brioche" on me, apparently I was one of the first --- the bread was dry AF, lol! I loved the burger --- the marrow taste, the raclette cheese --- I sing their praises, but wrong day to test out the "test bread"! It ended up on a Yelp Review. Hopefully the bread-recipe has been improved on after this review. PS: The onion-tomato jam perfectly pairs with the richness of the marrow burger. 3) Lastly, I ordered for dessert the bread pudding. They don't put their desserts on the menu, but if you ask the server they will let you know what the restaurant has for the day. I believe it's seasonal as well. It was average at best, good ---- but didn't stand-out. Overall, I'd totally recommend a stop-by if you're in the area! It's always awesome visiting these sites features on DDD, and tasting for yourself the hype behind their food!

We don't come as often as we used to because yes it is pricey but I would much rather come here and have a special night with incredible service, food, and drinks than still spend over $100 at another restaurant and get average food. The Grand Tavern is unpretentious, welcoming, entrees offer sizable portions. I have NEVER left hungry. Main complaints I see are price - again, yes it's expensive but it's worth it. Also you can see the menu before you go, how do you not know what you're walking into?? Complaints about the burger. First of all the menu changes seasonally. There's no way their patty is frozen. Everything is FRESH AF. And yeah, American cheese is king on a burger. Again, it's on the menu what did you expect? This is a restaurant that has literally never disappointed. I will always save my pennies for a great night out here. Everyone's entitled to their opinion obviously but entitlement is a hell of a drug. Check out the menu and have a great night.

Its on the water, so we waited for an outside table. We only waited about 25 mins on a very busy night (we were quoted 45) which I was pleased by. The tuna nachos were my favorite bite of the night. The plate was giant to share and the flavors were delicious. I got the shrimp and lobster pasta and if you are considering that, I would pass. The shrimp had a funny, almost lemon essense flavor. The lobster was tasty (can't really mess up lobster). The pasta however was mucky in my opinion. The pasta itself was broken so it wasn't easy to twirl and the flavor was just very bland. My friends got the salmon and the shrimp. Both looked delicious. I do have to mention that we did love that the entrees came with a side salad. Overall it was a lovely spot. I should have been suspicious when I ordered a glass of prosecco at the bar and it was just super cheap tasting. It was only $10 so I guess you get what you pay for. There was also a gross dirty napkin just sitting on the bar that was not attended to. At the table, I ordered their peach spritz. It was not spritzy and light as one would hope. It was extremely sweet and gloopy with syrup. Not refreshing. My friend had the strawberry mocktail and had to send it back due to its unpleasant taste. The waitress was pleasant and just took it off our bill. We ordered a dozen oysters. These oysters tasted flat like old gray dishwater. I think maybe the kitchen didn't bother to spot check quality. I think these were Blue Points, but they tasted like wet bathroom slippers. Next we had the clams. These were actually very good, but after the oysters, I was expecting very little. We then tried the crab cocktail. For $30, it was 3 tablespoons of crab on garnish lettuce. The crab was just so so, a bit dry, and totally not worth $30. We both decided to try the lobster bisque. They overloaded it with heavy cream. But the worst part was the garlic bread on top. Hard, chewy and clearly STALE. For the price and low quality, Marina Grille should be ashamed of themselves.
