Despite the older demographic, there's still a sizable group of younger, creative, and social folks looking for something to do. Sure, you could be satisfied with a '70s rock cover band for the 100th time in the village, but if not, then Dogwood has the potential to be the go-to spot if it just puts in a bit more effort. The last event listed on your website was in 2019. The last Instagram post was over two months ago, and the one before that was for New Year's Eve. With that kind of minimal effort in promoting and programming, it's no surprise the vibe is lacking. If Dogwood committed even 50% effort to curating consistent experiences and letting people know about them, I believe it could be one of the best spots on the mountain. She initially informed me that the restaurant did not offer a public bathroom. When I clarified that I was an active dining customer, she altered her response and told me that the bathroom was located outside the restaurant and down the stairs. I later discovered that there is a standard customer restroom located inside the restaurant. As a Latina, I felt like a targeted act of exclusion and racial profiling. This treatment constitutes a violation of equal accommodations under California's Unruh Civil Rights Act. I spoke to the owner, James Dixon, explained him what happened, told him I was emotionally disturbed and humiliated, especially now as a pregnant woman, and he did not recognize or acknowledge anything.
