The wait for the food took quite a while. They brought out the fries with the entree so we had to eat them together. We would have rather had the fries first. The quality of the seafood was okay. I go to a lot of Cajun seafood places and I've never had shrimp that was so hard to peel like here before. I'm a pro shrimp peeler but it was frustrating peeling this shrimp. MAKE SURE YOU CALL FIRST!!!! The first time we walked in, they said it was reservations only. Fast forward to the next weekend and we had called in ahead of time asking if they were busy that night. They said in 15 minutes they would have a clear table and that they would call me as soon as it's cleared up. The food was good on both times that i visited here. I would love to give this place a five but the customer service needs improvement. The first time i would have provided 5* with the young cashier lady. But the second encounter I called to place a pick order he inform me to go online to place the order. I then went as he suggested but their system was not excepting online orders. I called back and inform him of this so he stated that it should be accepting now. I went back online and it stated the same thing. The final called he told me i just had to come in to place the order. I ordered a pound of king crab with no seasoning and no butter and was charged $46.00 and when I got home with my order I discovered they had put garlic butter on the crab. I called and they said they would correct the order. When my wife returned the crab they were discussing rinsing the crab in the back room and my wife could over hear the conversation. This was after my wife had told them that she had an allergy to garlic. They did give her new crab and when she got home it did not seem like a pound. We weighed the crab and it was .61 pounds. Based on what I was charged and received this was a $17.00 overcharge. The package I got was with shrimp and it was over cooked. This place is a rip off. I know times are tough on small businesses and this is not the way to treat your customers. Won't be going back. read more

I ate here earlier tonight, and was blown away by the hospitality. They make you feel at home. When I try a new place I am hesitant. My daughter wanted to try it, because it was my bday, and even she enjoyed the food AND STAFF! Thank you to all of you for the hospitality! My boyfriend and I came here on Father's Day. It was totally packed but the staff was so friendly and offered to call us when a table opened up. The food is AMAZING!! Best clams we've ever had in a pot and the trifecta sauce is to die for. I wish I had asked our waitress her name because she was a complete gem! Craving some Cajun style seafood but not wanting to drive to Sacramento or San Jose to eat at the Boiling Crab? Then give this place a try! The food was delicious! Not too spicy but a definite garlicy kick. We ordered a bucket with 1/2 lb each of shrimp, crawfish, and mussels, plus potatoes and corn. This is their smallest bucket but was PLENTY for two adults. It is a fun experience peeling and eating with your hands. A bonus was the great music and crankin air conditioning on a hot afternoon. They serve a decent selection of beer and wine. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is there are still a few general restaurant-type things that need to be ironed out. Perhaps it is due in part to a very young front of house staff, but we had to walk up to the counter to ask for refills on soda (our waitress was apologetic but didn't check back after that), had to ask a couple of different waitstaff for plates, and the overall cleanliness was a bit lacking in my opinion (the floors were extremely sticky, tables weren't bussed quickly, and the restroom needed much attention). My husband & I tried this place because the reviews were so good on Yelp & we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the pound of shrimp with trifecta sauce, the garlic noodles & garlic bread. It was amazing & plenty of food for the 2 of us. The downers: they ran out of wet knaps, there wasn't any soap in the bathroom & when we went to pay, their debit machine wasn't working so we had to get cash out from the liquor store ATM next door. But since this is a new spot, they are still working out the kinks & still get 5 stats cause the food was so damn good! This place is amazing! The food is delicious and not too pricey. I've been here a handful of times. We normally get the snow crab legs and mussels with potatoes in the pepper lemon and Cajun in the mild. The sauce is very tasty and the fish is always cooked perfectly. This is a hole in the wall restaurant with plastic silverware and paper plates. A lot of the food is served in steam bags. But the seafood cooked well and seasoned perfectly., especially the shrimp and crab. The garlic noodles are great. A few beers and nothing in the way of wines. The manager said we could bring our own bottle without corkage fees. It's great to have a seafood restaurant in Manteca that serves something other than deep fried fish. read more

First off I want to say thank you to Dale N for recommending this establishment on Yelp. It did not disappoint. We went on a Saturday night and immediately got a table. We were informed that they were out of garlic noodles and I was a tad disappointed. I ordered a gumbo and was super excited to try it. It was 9 dollars and when it came out I was disappointed with the size. Upon tasting it, I was also disappointed that the base tasted like they used too much flour in the rue and it wasn't seasoned well. They had a special running for the boil, it was buy two pounds of crawfish, get one free. So we partook in the special and added a pound of snow crab legs along with sausage, potatoes, and corn. We did the trifecta of sauces and had it only as a mild sauce. The sausage was spicy but the sauces were amazing together. I even scooped some of the sauce up and put it in my gumbo. All in all the boil was delicious but honestly it is a bit overpriced. With our two drinks and what I mentioned earlier, it was 71 dollars. I would go back again, but I would definitely be more conscious of the menu. read more

Besides The Boiling Crab in Sac, this is my second go to spot for Cajun shrimp I've been here twice so far and service is always the best. I actually got the same server both times! (forgot her name) .. My typical bill would be a lb of Shrimp head on, in their trifecta sauce in medium with a side of garlic noodles, yum! My bf would order their fish and chips basket. The fish tastes so fresh! And a must try is their GUMBO FRIES!!! Like who invented this cheesy goodness? Lol.. I must say that they're menu is a little pricey but what Cajun spot isn't?
