Great place to watch sports but the sports did not over power the pub environment. Great food, beer and wine/liquor choices. HH from 3-6, including Sunday. 20 oz beers for $8. The first star had to go because the staff at this joint is apparently being forced by management to make copious overuse of the words "y'all", "darling", and "sir". If you are going to adopt a cringey language gimmick, then can you please just cuss like a sailor? That would be much more comfortable for most of us. The second star had to go because they took my food away while I was still eating it, and wouldn't lay off, even though I was literally trying to grab it off the plate as they were whisking it away. Finally, the third star was taken because the fish and chips are OK, but the tartar sauce is disgusting. I could not eat it. I had to make my own tartar sauce at the table out of mayonnaise, pickle relish, and lemon juice. In other words, they don't know how to cook. read more

The scotch eggs are simply hardboiled eggs encased by sausage accompanied by spicy and honey mustard. The pub footballs were tasty but would have been better if the jalapenos were cooked a little more. The brown sticky sauce (not sure what it is) tastes amazing. The crab dip was average. We have family members that love this restaurant. Inside is dark and 1970s furnishing...you know, red velvet and dark furniture. Looks dated but maybe that is the pub theme. All the food is British, which is odd, since Brits are not known for noteworthy food. Have been there twice. Second trip was better than first. Hamburgers are enormous. I ordered sliders, they were just right. One person ordered shepards pie and that was huge portion and said it was good. They have a waffle fry appetizer that is covered in cheese. Cannot believe I am just getting around to reviewing Canyon's Crown. I have likely eaten here more often than any other restaurant in tucson. I rarely drink but when I do, it tends to be here. The atmosphere is always nice, the seating is comfortable, and the food is always top notch. In my opinion they have the best English Style fish and chips in tucson, possibly in Arizona. I have ordered almost the entire menu and never had a bad dish. Having worked in a kitchen I know how hard that is to accomplish. The management is top notch. When my 1.5 year old knocked my beer into my corned beef on St. Patrick's Day, they brought me a new beer and food and did not charge me an extra penny. I'm GF and they were able to nicely accommodate with a GF burger and fries (though the fryer is not GF but luckily I can tolerate some cross contamination). I researched restaurants in the Tucson area and found Canyon's Crown had a drink called Churro. As High Priestess of Churromancy in the Holy Taco Church, I knew we HAD to visit this place so I could partake of liquid churro. And hey, they had stuff the rest of my family could enjoy, too! First of all, the Churro really does taste like a churro. Kinda freaky, really. There is some small risk of aspirating on the dusting of cinnamon on the top, but I will defy death for a drink like this. Meanwhile, my husband appreciated their selection of beers on tap. Our son is autistic with sensory issues, and we always get chips for him. At Canyon's Crown, they have crisps; our son chose Cajun seasoning. These were darn good chips, and served prettily in a parchment cone. We had leftovers to bring back to the hotel, which were still great the next day. I had the large pub steak salad. It was delicious. The amount of steak was just right, and it was cooked to medium, as requested. My husband had two-piece fish and chips. He was impressed. The pieces of fish were VERY thick, and perfectly cooked. Fries were great, too. We had arrived right before five o'clock on a Friday, and we apparently just beat the rush. The place was packed, but our service was excellent. As we left, we saw a big crowd waiting to go inside, too. Clearly, the secret about this place is out! My wife and I are honeymooning in Arizona this week and have eaten in a variety of restaurants. After a long day of travel we chose The Canyon's Crown more for convenience than anything else because it was within walking distance from our hotel. I'm so glad we made the choice. We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday night, the parking lot full to overflowing, but we were seated immediately. Our waiter appeared almost instantly and took our drink orders and returned with the in less than 3 minutes. He saw we were still perusing the menu and said he'd check back. He may have ESP because we had no sooner made our selections when he reappeared. My wife ordered the Shepherds Pie and I opted for the Chicken Pot Pie. I enjoy my time at Canyon's Crown everytime I come. The staff is really fun and welcoming, the decor and ambiance are relaxing and the menu is well put together...not convoluted by too many choices and on-point with their pub fare theme. The beer menu is always great and you're likely to find something new and delicious there every visit. Most recently, I enjoyed a Huss Koffee Kolsh on tap as well as a Peanut Butter porter. We ordered the Irish Nachos as well, which were exceptional. They were very crispy, though a bit greasier than most I've had, and the toppings were fresh and generous. Crispy bacon, cheese, sour cream, green onion....just great. The fish and chips were unfortunately too greasy to eat. My grandma is from the UK and I've traveled there a couple times, so my standards may be higher than most. That said, however, this was the greasiest I ever had, so I had to send it back. The server was awesome and she took great care of us. I ordered the Sheppard's Pie instead and it was much better. It wasn't too runny, was seasoned well and the potatoes were nicely cooked. Overall, it's clear to me that Canyon's Crown really values its customers and I'll definitely be back. I'll probably even give the fish and chips another go since the server assured me that's not how they are usually prepared. Off-nights can happen anywhere. I highly recommend this place for a beer and some apps with your friends. Especially on Thursday nights when they do their Trivia Night. It's a really good time. read more

I have tried the veggie burger and the fish and chips. My partner has eaten the grilled chicken burger. The veggie burger was large and tasty. The bun was unable to contain all the moisture and got soggy on the bottom. I ended up having to cut the burger up to eat it. Despite this, it was tasty but messy. The fries are good and tasted fresh. The fish and chips were a good choice, but I would have liked a little more crisp Ness on the fish. An unusual thing was the plate size. It appeared too small. It made it difficult to cut the fish without it falling on the table. My partner loved the grilled chicken and the side. She said it tasted moist and fresh. As far as ambiance, it looks like a pub. They were delicious but by the time I got to dessert, I was stuffed. So this time, we refrained from getting any appetizers. I got the Guinness Pie on our previous visit. It was savory and filling. I liked it but it didn't sweep me off my feet. Last night, I went for the meatloaf. It was amazingly good! It was smoky and had a firm (but not dry) texture. It came with creamy mashed potato, onion rings and grilled vegetables like zucchini, peppers, squash and string beans. It was a delight to both the gustatory and visual senses! The partner-in-dine has been singing praises for the fish and chips. You can get either the one-piece or the two-piece fish and chips plate. Each piece of fried fish was humongous! The fries that came with were crispy. The Canyon's Crown has an excellent selection of beers (Guinness heaven!) and a cool-looking bar where the local pint-lovers hang out. I bravely ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert while trying not to think of the onslaught of calories. I was glad I did. It was moist and succulent. I was just driving by and this English Pub in Tucson and it caught my eye. East side close to Sabino Canyon Road on the south side of Tanque Verde across from a strip mall. Lots of TV's with sports, padded seats, English and Irish brews on tap and in bottles. Good food options and every day happy hour 4p-7p Seemed pretty open, young greeter at the door, crowded but pleasant and service was sufficient. There was outdoor seating available, as well as bar seating or regular tables. Traditional English and Irish food with other options. I did not have time to get a meal, just a Boddington's pint and an appetizer. Nothing special, but I will return to try a meal. Looks promising. read more

This is a great, great place to go for Geek Who Drink trivia night on Thursday nights at 8!!!! Definetly going to be regular date night. There were plenty of tables, attentive waitstaff, great bar selection, and the food was great! They had one of my favorite ciders on tap, that's always a plus! The staff managed the full house well and with a great attitude! We ended up sharing the fish and chips and it was plenty of food for the two of us! And it was. so. dang. good!
