First time at this location. Beautiful view out the many windows overlooking the golf course. Our server Sara was very friendly and helpful. She answered our questions about the menu thoroughly and promptly started our orders coming out. Then came the food. A delicious 1/2 dozen fresh Wellfleet oysters. You can get Wellfleet oysters in many places but for some reason these were the best tasting oysters I remember ever having. I had the entree of caramelized bay scallops with lobster risotto. What made this risotto sparkle, is that the chef added sweet peas to it. A delicious combination with the big pieces of lobster and scallops. My spouse had the crabmeat stuffed haddock as her entree. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the chefs own raspberry sorbet for desert. It was mouth watering. My spouse had the decadent warm lava cake with ice cream All in all, this will become of of my favorite restaurants on Cape Cod. Ate outside, warm night. Thursday's they have a singer who was very good, they also have oysters on Thursday's for $1.00, which were excellent. Food selection is good, service was excellent. Chef Tim Miller from The Glass Onion is the chef here now. My husband and I went Saturday night and sat at a high top in the bar. They have remodeled the entire dining area over and it is gorgeous. Nice comfortable furnishings with TVs, a large bar area and dining in other rooms if you don't want to sit in the bar. Ron, our waiter, was excellent and very attentive. The food here is wonderful. Go for one of the steaks. They are fabulous! I had a filet and my husband had a sirloin. Everything is fresh and home made. And if you don't want a big meal you can order a burger. The Cape Club is a must if you are in Falmouth or anywhere on the Cape! The staff is great in every area of the club from the golf shop & driving range to the Cape Grille restaurant! It was a disappointing experience. Went there on a Thursday night as the has a dollar per oyster promotion. Got there and the were $2 each, so ordered a half dozen. 35 minutes later I was informed that the had run out. Watched others, apparently from a golf outing and none apparently got oysters. Made for an annoying experience. The chicken Caesar salad was disappointing as the chicken was like wood chips it was so over cooked. Only blessing was a good cocktail. Very disappointing. Was our first indoor dining experience since onset of pandemic. Based on previous experiences, decided to go here for our anniversary dinner. Braised short ribs did not taste "fresh." Food was not hot. While bread is not critical, pre-pandemic Club served bread or rolls. Was not asked if we would like bread with our meal (even if we had to pay). We returned food to be warmed up. Throughout meal, staff did not come back to check to see how meal was. They did ask if we wanted any more wine when we requested our check. Don't know if dessert or coffee was even available. The service and food quality was not up to par with the past. Entered restaurant with high expectations, based on a previous experience. Unfortunately, the result was completely opposite. We went for lunch and sat out on the porch. A nice breeze was coming through and as we were settling in after ordering, a woman next to us lit up a cigarette and smoked us out of there and into the dining room. We ordered a simple Smoked turkey sandwich that had some bacon but the whole thing was bland. The turkey was thin sliced as of it came from a processed package from the grocery store. We were given a choice of boring white bread or boring wheat. No variety. Ordered their chopped salad that had woody chicken breast and was not really a true chopped salad, which is not a difficult thing to make. Took two bites and sent it back. We had the clam chowder and thought that was good. We asked for rolls to have with chowder and salad and was told "they don't do that for lunch". The service was slow slow slow. Our waiter looked bored. We were never given a choice of side with our sandwich and were surprised to have a plate full of fries accompanying it. They were good and we ate them all but would have preferred a side salad which was never offered. The most successful restaurants have one thing in common. Consistency. This place has none of that. I wanted to like this place. I had such a good experience only a few days before. What a disappointment. read more

Horrible meal. A fish dish that smelled up the whole room was put in front of me. I had to remove it from my table untouched as it was offensive to other patrons near me. No one came with a menu to ask if I wanted something else. Manager did not come to check things out. My husband had to share his over cooked chicken parmigiana and a basket of bread with me. Great addition to Falmouth! The Cape Grill is in the former Ballymeade golf club. The chef is from famous Glass Onion restaurant in Falmouth Center. The food and presentation are fantastic. The steaks are well cooked and the daily fish special is always a great choice. The staff is well trained and they always are there to help. On our recent visit we had busboy Jack, and he mentioned how this is his first summer at The Cape Grill. He mentioned how great all his co-workers and manager are and has enjoyed getting to meet the many faces that frequent the restaurant. Highly recommend!! read more

Great Service and food. Children's menu is fantastic. Not a place I would bring a child who can't sit through a meal though. Drinks are great, nice wines by the glass, and while I have had several great meals there, the steaks are always highlight. Tried the Cape Grille last week and have to say it was GREAT! I ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and they were very tasty and the cocktail sauce was very good too. I opted for the ribeye, cooked medium. It was cooked perfectly and had a great taste. Side was asparagus and nicely flavored French fries. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great meal. read more

Great meal! Well worth the visit. The staff was very well trained and aimed to please. Food presentation was beautiful.

Recently, I hosted a party of 5 at the restaurant and while the food was quite good, the service was very substandard. The young man serving was quite sincere, but he was totally inexperienced and incapable of being a server in such an upscale eatery. I fully understand giving young folks the opportunity to work and gain experience, but he had apparently little or no experience and little to no training for his job at the Club. He somehow read off the specials for the previous nite, reached over the table pouring wine and clearing plates, delayed bring the wine until the meals were brought and I ultimately had to ask for the wine, etc. When I pay $300+ for meals, I expect better service that I might expect a fast-food eatery. That was not my experience last Wed. The service should match the food quality. In this case, the service was inferior. Food was great. Service was inattentive/awful. We enjoyed the meal when it finally came. The waiter was new and had no idea what he was doing. For example, our main course arrived, yet our appetizer plates were not cleared. Maybe the service will improve with practice, so I will give them a few months to see if they can get it right. read more

I am commenting on the restaurant only. I love the golf course, maybe a little pricy, but its some great golf. Went to dinner tonight and the staff was great, the fillet was perfect as always. But, two thing. 1) Why do restaurants advertise one thing and deliver another? They offered a Carrot Cake. You would think it would resemble a carrot cake, right? Well, it was a very dry, dense tasteless 'roll'. Nothing that resembles or tasted like a cake. About 2 inches high and 5 inches long. Again, nothing that resembles a cake. The staff was good, and did not charge me and gave me another desert. If you are going to offer a Carrot Cake, please at least let it resemble a cake, or let folks know before ordering. 2) Please, please, clean the menus! They were terrible. I had to go to the bathroom to wash my hands after touching it. greasy, food stained menus covers should not happen for a high end restaurant. This is an easy fix and doesn't take long to do.....I wanted the experience to be perfect, like the other aspects of the experience, but it was a little disappointing. read more

Not our first trip, but not the best. Food continues to be excellent but service was a real let down. Hope that this was just a fluke. Slow service and disappearing waitress. Twenty minutes after taking our order our waitress returned to say the special that one in our party was no longer available. He made another selection and another 30 minutes later our food arrived.
