Ordered the following from the bar: Chowder, mussels, Halibut dinner. The chowder was indelible and I returned it. The mussels were not much better however we were starving and ate half(reluctantly). For was perfect, the halibut special was 12oz-14oz and was simply delicious won top of s Latino style rice. And the prime rib was medium rare, thick slice and was the best cut of beef we had in a while. The prices was very reasonable and being from Manhattan this would be a $200 medium. Narragansett beer was only 650 a can for the tall boy. This place is four stars or five stars in my opinion. I recommend anybody out on the Cape to come to this place ASAP and the piano bar music was incredible. read more

I love a place that enthusiastically receives a solo diner and seats them where they're most Comfortable for their intentions. Had a fabulous beach rose martini and a steak, with a mudslide for desert. Planned to sit at the bar, ended up at a patio table. We stumbled on this pretty spot for for last sunset dinner of vacation. Right from the start, the hostess as so accommodating w/ a late Sunday evening reservation. We caught a gorgeous sunset over a bowl of big coconut curry mussels (dip the bread in the broth!). Incredibly delicious! Huge quahog for sharing! Swordfish tacos were excellent and the scallops came in a cute dish with a toasted crust, very sweet and tender. Double thumbs up! We will be back for sure. read more

Every summer, we stop in the chart room for lunch. Tucked back into a marina, the winding road opens up to an expansive view for the restaurant. I was pregnant at the time, and appreciated that they offer non-alcoholic options on the cocktail menu. We enjoyed the classics for our meal: chowder, stuffed quahog, and a lobster roll. All were tasty and came out quickly during a weekday lunch. There was a bit of a wait for our check, but the service was fine. A nice little restaurant on the wharf. That is how I will start off this review. At 5:30 pm it was busy. Our party consisted of 2 children and 3 adults. Start with the decor. It was a nice New England wharf restaurant. We sat outside. There were a couple outside options available. We sat on the porch, right across from a swordfish. We had views of the marina, and the many boats. There was also an awning set up, and other tables and chairs with umbrellas. All in all it was very nice and cozy (and by the crowd, always busy). The menu. For the with kids, I will start off by saying there is no kids menu. (No chicken tenders or Mac N Cheese). They make up for it by offering Grilled Cheese, hot dogs and hamburgers. As a heads up, the above only come with chips (a bag of cape cod chips), coleslaw or potato salad. My kids ordered a cheeseburger and hot dogs. The cheeseburger was a decent size, but honestly my daughter did not like it. We ordered it medium rare, and it was dry. The adults in the party ordered the Stuffed Quahog and the Chart Room Chowder for appetizers. The Stuffed Quahog was good (pictured) while the Chart Room Chowder was simple as my wife put it. It has all the makings for a good chowder but was bland. For the entrees we ordered the Prime Rib, Scallops, and the Crab Salad sandwich. Prime Rib came with either a baked potato or rice and a vegetable (whatever the vegetable of the day is, today was yellow squash). Prime Rib was i would say a 12 to 16 oz as pictured. I loved it, and so did my daughter - perfect medium rare. The scallops - according to my wife was very good, came with the choice of potato or rice, and veggie. She got the baked potato. The other member of our party ordered the Crab salad sandwich was huge, but didn't have celery or salt (bland). Sandwiches also came with chips, potato salad or coleslaw slaw. Last but not least, the drinks. My wife ordered a Mai Thai - which was strong! She followed up with a pain killer to get a little more fruity taste. The pain killer was great. Over all, it was a good experience. Food was decent, the atmosphere was great and the service was great. Enjoy! read more

Great service and food - make sure to call for reservations- it's definitely worth it. Food is great - some nights there is a piano player which can be hilarious when patrons come in and sing - especially after a few world famous Mudslides. The food is all great - but I would bypass the appetizers- they are okay- but the mains are more than enough food! The desserts are decent- but as mentioned the meals are abundant so you probably won't be able to get to dessert. read more

We held my husband's memorial luncheon at The Chart Room here on Saturday, and it far exceeded our expectations! The Chart Room was my husband's favorite place to eat in the summer. He had been going there since the 80's - long before we were married. The owner, David Jarvis, met with my daughters and I, and graciously offered the room behind the piano for our event. He also created a custom menu that was within my budget and printed copies for each place setting. He also allowed my daughters and I to come early before the service and bring flowers for each table and set up the dessert table. The servers were friendly and gracious. They took the drink orders and kept the alcohol separate from my meal tab. The food for the luncheon was exceptional! Our guests were impressed with the waterfront location, the cozy room, the and not only the many entree choices but the side choices as well. I will be forever grateful to David Jarvis, Todd for letting the girls and I in early to set up and the wonderful servers (I'm sorry I didn't hear the names) who took care of our guests on the day we honored my husband. The Chart Room will forever be our beloved place for commemorating an event. Thank you for everything! read more

This might read as a bit of a strange review but it needs to start in a strange way. We were at Parkers Boat Yard on a mooring and called for the water taxi to come take us to the Chart Room. While in the taxi I said I was hoping the food was better than last time and a man popped up and said " there are two chefs.. one does a great job but the other not so much.. if you are lucky enough to get the better of the two you will enjoy yourself." Well we got lucky and everything was yummy. I opted for a Reuben not feeling like a big meal and he opted for scallops. Our appy was clams casino. Everything was spot on.. right down to our martinis. All delicious.. It was packed with people but we got inside in no time as everyone else wanted outside seating which made us even happier! Our server was Luke who did a good job.. I think he was a bit of a rookie but really tried to tend to us.. the reason there is 4 stars and not 5 is because the service was slow.. they had tons of young people running their butts off to do the best they could but if the kitchen is slow it's not their fault. So I've been here twice and I have to admit the owners are a friend of a friend so I don't know if everyone gets the extra special service like I experienced but just the same great spot if you're on the Cape. It can be a bit tricky to find if you've never been here because it's located in a marina, lots of boats and boat folks hanging around but great spot on a warm Summer evening. We sat outside just prior to sunset and it was dynamite. We had enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with our dinner as we watched boats coming in and out of the marina and the Sun setting, if you're a fan of water views and are on the Cape looking for a nice dinner out don't pass on this spot. For the food I had a terrific perfectly cook piece of Salmon, my wife had a Shrimp scampi she absolutely loved. My daughter went with the classic lobster roll, it was HUGE you could have fed 2 people with it, she luved it. Can't wait to get back here Summer is just around the corner. read more

The food was decent, but the geriatric hostess was rude to the small kids in our party. As we were waiting for our food, the kids (3 and 4 yrs old) were playing near the table. The room was hardly busy, but as this elder hostess was seating another party, she made a point to literally scream at the kids, "you can't play here!" It made the rest of the room go silent and look. She knew how to ruin an otherwise good experience. Sorry she cost our waitress a better tip. Maybe it's time to leave her in the kitchen or retire. read more

This place was so great with amazing service. We had a larger party, which they were able to accommodate. Our server, Martina, was awesome. She gave us recommendations of where to go around the area and wrote down the addresses for us. The food was also really good. I had the schrod with a baked potato and it was delicious. My friends and I were genuinely appalled by the hostess's behavior. We arrived at the host stand and were asked if we were dinning with them tonight. We excitingly replied that we would like to have a few drinks and appetizers. The hostess rudely replied saying "Ok, well you have 30 minutes max...Seriously you have to be in and out in 30 minutes or less" she did not give us an explanation as to why and reluctantly guided us to the table, rudely pushing through a family of people that were attempting to get seated at their own table. We ended up leaving as this interaction was so unsettling and truly ruined the fun atmosphere of the night. Please save yourself and avoid this place. There are plenty other marina based bars and restaurants with much better treatment of their customers read more

This place is next to Kingman Yacht Club. Great seafood and ambiance. I sat by the piano next to a man who goes there regularly. We had a wide ranging chat. Right before we left the guys at the piano played the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz's solo and he sang it! The next day we met friends there for an excellent lunch - I think I had Lobster Newburg. Everyone had a great time. I came by with a large group of friends for dinner. While you're waiting for your table, you're able to order beer and wait outside at a table by the water, which was a nice surprise. For dinner, I ordered the turkey BLT on portuguese bread and my partner ordered the fish tacos. Both dishes tasted good - the sandwich was a bit dry and the tacos were flavorful, overall no complaints. There is also live music on Friday nights which created an enjoyable ambience. It got really cold at night, since the restaurant is right along the water, so I highly recommend bringing a sweater for some extra warmth. Our server, Martina, was superb, and is the reason this review is getting 5 stars. She was extremely kind, warm, friendly, and personable! read more

VERY popular restaurant with a terrific view and a favorite of ours for lobster salad. However, the other food is often "uneven". Started with Clams Casino. Tasty. Then the lobster salad portion of our visit. I had it in a tomato and while the lobster salad was delicious as usual, the tomato was hard, flavorless and unseasoned. I wish that if they were going to use an out of season tomato, at least season it a little before the salad goes in. The potato salad that accompanied it was very good. I ordered a classic cocktail, a Tom Collins which I have had some trouble lately finding a bar that a) knows what they are, and b) knows how to make them. This place has it on their cocktail menu so I ordered one and it truly stunk. So, points for the seafood and not much else. read more

Wow. What a horrible experience today at the Chart Room. The luck ended when they had a table free without a wait. Went downhill from there. Drinks took 30 min. Then to order food another 15 min. Disaster in the kitchen we were rocks after an hour wait for food. Food started to trickle out. Took another hour to get to all. Burger almost raw. Chowder they had to remake due to kitchen disaster came our last. No visit from a manager to apologize, explain situation, offer a discount. When we asks our young server to ask management for some recompense, he came back quickly with "she won't do anything". Went to talk to "she" got a few confused looks like there wasn't a problem. Told them we are locals and regulars and very disappointed. No apology..she actually said to me "whatever"...yeah, don't go here this summer. It's a shit show for a ton of money. read more

We've been to the Chart room in Osterville numerous times, our favorite, wanted to check out the original in Cataumet. It is so much bigger than it's counterpart. We asked to sit outside and were brought to a table under the awning right behind the bar. We again asked for outside and the request was dismissed, not sure what you have to do to get an outside seat as there were open seats. Service was super friendly and attentive. Food was tasty. I had a very generous portion of Prime rib, my husband the scallops. Would go back. read more
