    Chicken sandwich
    Nicole S.

Had a work lunch here this week. We were given a private room which was amazing!!! The seafood tower was amazing. Sadly I don't eat steak so I got the chicken sandwich wasn't great but what can I do. The broccoli side was delicious though. The service was the best though. Every single server made sure we were taken care of.

We didn't have a reservation, however arriving on a Saturday early evening there was no issue getting a table. Every staff member from the hostess to the manager were just so lovely and made us feel welcomed. The wine list offers a nice variety of by the glass options as well as bottles. We need to start by showing some love to the bread basket. This is the best bread basket I've seen in a long time. An onion bread, pumpernickel, everything roll and large crackers were all exceptional, served with a wonderful perfectly soft butter. We started off with the crab cocktail which was served with a lovely creamy Dijon dipping sauce. The lump crab was so succulent and delicious. The ribeye was cooked to a flawless medium and seasoned to perfection and was just delectable. The. NY strip au poirve was also fantastic. Again cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent. The side dishes can easily feed 3-4 people, so we had leftovers. The roasted mushrooms were savory and excellent, as was the potato au gratin. The flourless chocolate espresso cake was divine and the espresso was smooth and bold. We loved our time at Capital Grill and would return in a heartbeat.

The Grille's Wagyu Cheeseburger with Chips & Caviar

Stopped by for a casual dinner in the lounge area on a Saturday when they weren't too busy and had a great dinner. The Wagyu & Wine was terrific. We had The Grille's Wagyu Cheeseburger and the Wagyu Mushroom Swiss Burger - both were great and cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the Chips & Caviar upgrade. The staff also truly added to the experience. We got a warm welcome and conversation from the host team and our server Victoria was very friendly and helpful.

I have been visiting the capital grille located in Grand Central. Such a glamorous place for both business and personal dinning. I'd visited with a group of friends for an early dinner on a Friday evening. We ordered macaroni and cheese for appetizer and oh my, it was so cheesy and tasty. Most definitely the best macaroni and cheese I had in a while and definitely shareable. For entree, I had salmon served with some greens. The presentation was close to perfection and it tasted magnificent. It was rich, buttery and had this shimmering and crispy look! The serving portion was perfect for one person. For drinks, I appreciated some champagne that's always a good idea. I forgot to mention that the bread was so yummy! Omg! I could eat the bread non stop. The staff were super welcoming and always in a happy mood.

The best lamb chops I've ever had. They were out of this world....the steak is always delicious.... I love capital grille... the people are amazing and they are always consistent.

I had lunch here with some colleagues, and the location couldn't be more convenient--right inside the MetLife building. I highly recommend making a reservation. The meal started on a high note with complimentary bread and butter. The butter was incredibly creamy! For the appetizer, we had the pan-fried calamari with hot cherry peppers--crispy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of heat. My favorite item on the menu! For my main course, I went with the pan-seared salmon, swapping the couscous for creamed spinach. The salmon was cooked to a perfect medium, though the spinach was just okay--I've had better. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for lunch. The service was outstanding--friendly, efficient, and attentive. I'll definitely be back to try the steak next time!

    Crab meat

Great place to come after work with work colleagues. An upscale vibe with a sense of home. Food is very good. Get the lollipop lamb chops. The crab meat is moist and sweet and calamari have a nice little punch to them from the hot peppers included as part of the dish.

Came here for a group dinner (seated us inside a private dining room) and really enjoyed my experience here. The pacing of the dishes was spot on. Started off with a bread basket with a nice variety of bread-- bread was warm, favorite was the onion focaccia (could eat an entire basket of that alone!). I loved the appetizers here, prosciutto wrapped mozzarella was delish (so soft, and I'm not even the biggest fan of mozzarella) and the fried calamari was perfectly crispy. Would recommend both of them. Salad was fresh, although I think it could've been more heavily dressed. I got the bone in dry aged NY strip (ordered medium rare), which was a HUGE portion and quite tender (do wish they seasoned it a little more though). Asparagus and mashed potato sides were decent and I enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake for dessert .

    Crab and lobster cake
    Hank C.

Located in the old pizza shop at Grand Central/Pan Am/MetLife building lower level, this has indoor and outdoor seating. A very big space inside. They had good service, cocktail shrimp was cold and refreshing, drinks were sweet and not too strong. Calamari was a little spicy which was nice. Crab and lobster cake... skip. I prefer just outright crab cake. The lobster didn't add much.

    Tofu steak with vegetables
    Rupesh S.

Managed to get a Tofu Steak, off menu, which went well with the butternut squash bisque. Service was excellent and attentive. The steakhouse ambiance is everywhere and pleasant. My red wine was delicious as were the cocktails. Desert - chocolate expresso cake - was divine. It appears a vegetarian can survive a steak house meal at The Capital Grill!

Considering this is a high end restaurant, I find it absurd you guys use choice grade beef. The steak was very dry and bland.

This is the first fine-dining restaurant that I've attended. The ambiance was nice and the restaurant was beautiful. I especially loved that you could see into the kitchen, it reminded me of Hell's Kitchen. I came here last summer for the Endless Pour event, where they offer you six wines to try as you go through the courses. And never doubt the ability for wine to do it's THING, definitely a creeper. My friend and I tried the crab cakes (the sauce for the crab cakes were to DIE for), and the lobster mac and cheese (the breadcrumbs added the perfect touch). For my entree, I got the Sea Bass. To die for, it melts in your mouth and it was delicious. The waitress was very warm and helpful, as she assisted us with what wines would go best for what we were eating. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience.

Great place for after work drinks. Love the ambiance of the restaurant. The music is a little loud. The food and drinks are on the pricier side but I really enjoyed the doli cocktail and the calamari.

Another Great Night at The Grille.

As I walked in and saw just how swanky this place is I panicked - there was no way we could just walk in here without a reservation, right? But the hostess was, thankfully, so down to earth. Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. I'll definitely be back for happy hour or dinner with friends!

It's been a minute since we'd dined out (life on the other side of having a kid has been DIFFERENT…read morey'all) so we decided to go check Barlume out. Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars
