Located inside the Bunker Hill hotel, don't get thrown off by the signs that read "hotel guests…read moreonly past this point" or something along this way. We were able to find street parking right upfront, but it can get tricky. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman and by a beautiful view of the houses on the hills. The view and vibe alone deserve 5 stars. The issue we had was the wait time. We waited close to an hour for our food. If we weren't so hungry and tired after a day of exploring, we would have just cancelled the order and left. We tried the shrimp appetizer and it just didn't up meeting expectations based on the menu description. My friend had the mahi sandwich while I had the mahi entree with mashed potatoes and plantains. The mahi in the sandwich was a bit dry, but my entree was pretty good. However, definitely not worth the one-hour wait or the cost. Overall not a bad experience and worth a try, but go there with lots of patience hahaha. Also, note that 20% gratuity is included regardless of group size.

We had a pretty large party with us, and they put together a table for us pretty quickly. However we were warned that the wait after our order would be longer than usual because of our size and accomodation. (Nothing a few bottles of wine couldn't fix!) The bar was stocked with basic essentials, nothing over the top but lovely enough to get everyone a cocktail or preferred beer/wine. The food menu had a good variety for everyone to have something interesting they could eat! Not everything came out perfectly, or even at the same time, but they were willing to accommodate everyone's needs and fixed a wrong order very, very quickly for us! Everyone who had ordered the mahi and salmon loved it, it felt fresh and zesty paired with onions and peppers. The shrimp dish was lovely and mild, as was the tamarind chicken. They were willing to accommodate some specific needs and made plain grilled chicken for someone who needed it. The rasta pasta had a bit of a little bit of spice to it, which was fun for an island take on pasta as a vegetarian option. They did have a vegan option with a veggie burger that came in a pita. The sides were all great, the fries and mashed potatoes were amazing, and the rice/beans were good as well. Unfortunately because we sat down close to 8, some menu items on the dessert menu were out. This lead us to the rum cake, which came out WARM and was absolutely delicious! If we stayed nearby again or needed a meal close to town, I would consider this a cute and reliable restaurant.

We didn't get the same positive vibes as other fellow Yelpers. Sorry to say…read more To start, it's a confusing layout in a historical building. You walk through a jewelry store to get to a small restaurant that combines Virgin Islands Ice Cream shop with Calypso Cafe. Most of the seats were taken, and all we saw was a line to place your order at the front. My husband waited in line while I found a table that hadn't been cleaned yet. It was very busy there. He ordered us 2 brownies and 2 bottles of water for $16. The lady at the counter gave herself a tip by taking $3 of the change and giving him back $1. He was going to give her all the change ($4) back, but after that incident he was floored. To add insult to injury, she didn't give us what we paid for. She proceeded to help the next person in line for an ice cream shake order. We waited and waited and no one acknowledged us after trying to flag someone down. We finally got the attention of a different lady who was helping people who were seated in the back. I think her name is Cameron. She didn't fully understand our frustration, and we had to explain that we didn't get the items that we had already paid for. She made it all right, and even offered to warm up the brownies. We just didn't feel like waiting longer for it. I'm giving benefit of the doubt here since maybe we just didn't understand the ordering system. Maybe there's a service charge that we didn't know about. How could we? We didn't even get a receipt. Perhaps there's another line for Calypso Cafe? I don't know. Honestly, the lady at the counter should have informed Cameron before proceeding on to the next customer. It only takes 2 seconds. I mean, really! Will we go back? Absolutely not! We'll go somewhere else the next time we're in Charlotte Amalie. It wasn't worth the long wait for 2 bakery items and water.

The crepe was filled to the brim with fruit (banana and strawberries) and Nutella. We did also opt for whipped cream, but you can ask for without. Latte was STRONG. The omelette was also packed full, this time with various veggies and even ginger! The toast that comes with is plain white toast topped with butter. The space itself is cozy and cute, although hidden. You will have to walk through a jewelry store to find it. Front of the shop is dedicated to coffee and sweets while the back is for main breakfast and lunch dishes. Highly recommend!

I ended up showing up early so I was only able to see and try the breakfast menu and drinks, so those are the only items I can rate Ambiance: 5 stars. It's an open floor plan right on the dock. We were able to sit right next to the water and get some fresh air. The place isn't too loud, but very inviting. They have a bottomless mimosa option and this place feels like it would be a great brunch vibe Service: 4 stars. Staff was super nice and waitress was helpful in regards of what to order. There was an issue with steak being overcooked and they were able to replace it, but it did take taking to 3 different people, which I thought was weird Drinks: 3.5 stars. The Rum away with me was absolutely wonderful, but the White Russian was not good at all Food : 4.5 stars Steak and eggs was fantastic. We had to get the steak recooked, but when it was made well, it was a top shelf steak. Crab cakes: also would recommend! No notes here Breakfast burger:,really loved the fact that the patty was smashed. I was worried that there was too much going on but everything combined quite nicely. I got the breakfast potatoes and they weren't really anything special. Overall this place was a 4.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 5 because the vibe and views were immaculate

We sat outside-unfortunately it was raining but I can see why people would come here on sunny days! Our dinner was good-I had fish tacos which were delicious and the fish pieces were very large. I subbed out fries for a salad-which was the largest side salad I have ever gotten in any restaurant! The highlight of the night was the Sangria-wow was that delicious! Our server was very friendly. One negative, our receipt had already included gratuity and when they handed me receipt, there was another blank line asking for gratuity (again!) and showing % options. This is very deceiving. Read carefully so you don't accidentally double tip! Oh, and there is an additional 3.5% non cash convenience fee. Thank you!

One day we were over at Coki Beach catching some rays and swimming while enjoying some drinks on the beach when we both got hungry. I said, "Let's go try Uncle Buddy's! It's literally 50 feet away." It's such a vibey little open aired space right on the water with beautiful views. The lady and her son who own the place were super friendly and welcoming. She had her son whip my gf up an amazing cocktail which we both shared and loved plus I had to enjoy a Presidente beer as well. When in Rome :) We ordered a platter that came with fried plantains, rice and beans, fried shrimp, and salad. We also ordered a fish sandwich. All of it was to die for! Excellent! Chefs Kiss :D I love this place and I love hard working people who go out of their way to make sure you are happy. I'll come back again and again while in St. Thomas. Thank you for the amazing food and drinks :) Enjoy!
