My experience today was not good Usually it's pleasant but there's one problem they need to remove and that is the front desk person Raquel lI had been on ph with them a couple times today getting the card number correct and they said around 12 45 the meds would be ready so I go in around 4:15 When I asked her when she finally brought the medicine I asked what was taking so long she raised her voice and in a chest pumping reaction she lashes out at me because there short staffed then after I left I said you really should watch the way you speak and your tone with me instead of the normal ideal receptionist would have apologized so I turned around and said did your hear me what I said and she said I heard you that behavior I will not tolerate we spend a lot of money here and I send many people here and I can take my business to the really nice service at Pet Smart She should be immediately removed to the back where she doesn't interact with clients She had the opportunity to apologize and she did not there fore she wrecked your review from me Two years ago my review was great even tho there other reviews were not now Loving All Animals purchased this and the quality has declined read more

These people are ANGELS!!!! They've definitely restored my faith in humanity. I found a stray kitten here in Cat City. It was 120 degrees out in July. This poor kitten was so skinny and not doing well. I brought it to PS SHELTER only to be turned away because of a disease outbreak and they mentioned this place as a possible drop off. I called and they said sure! Bring it in! I can't believe how kind the employees are and the volunteers. The 2 ladies out front were just angels and helped me feel so much better about the poor kitten and guaranteed it would be ok. I chatted with them for at least 20 minutes about being turned away every time I bring in a stray and they told me about the owner/vet Dr. Diaz and how big her heart is and I just started bawling!!! I would love to give this clinic some stars, but Monique said they don't give out prices for bloodwork, and said I had to get old records. (It costs $500 for bloodwork at VCA for a kidney panel, but I don't want to change if they are not competitive.) I told them where they were, and said can you get those and I will make an appointment. And she wanted to argue about it. very upset!! The vet was nice but I feel like they took advantage of my situation. I brought in my sick cat. They did bloodwork and gave her fluids under her skin...Cost me $900!! Called me the next day and told me she had an infection and to come back and get medication...Another $150 just for antibiotics and a steroid. I gave my cat the medications as directed and she got worse to the point she would no longer get up. I called back and they did not even care!! They told me it would be ANOTHER $180 to pat my cat to sleep...meds are like $5-10 and they are ripping people off. This is unacceptable. Please take your pets to another vet. I have a 19 year old cat who after $700 testing needs to be on a thyroid medication for the rest of his life. I understand wanting to test his thyroid a month after he's on the med. BUT they have total control over the amount of refills for the prescription. Meaning they could require 4 thyroid tests a year at $1,000 just to renew the prescription. I have been on much more complex meds than a common thyroid med. I've never been forced to be tested up to 4 times a year just to get access to my prescription. This is the 3rd vet running the clinic in 4 years. They also make you pay 3% penalty using a credit card. The actual vet was in the exam room 5 minutes. The assistant basically did all the work. They know you love your pet. But it's time to say stop ripping me off. My visit cost over $800 for blood work and 2 meds. Now I could be forced to pay $1000 a year just to allow my 19 year old cat to take his meds. read more

Worst vet experience of my life - Cat Clinic tried to steal $600-$900 from me, and actually injured my cat. [NOTE: I subsequently learned on the CA Vet Medical Board website that this vet's license under a different name was voluntarily surrendered in December 2018 due to a violation. Its current license is under the name "TCC," which is misleading and suspect.] Lois is an extremely healthy and energetic 16-year-old cat (vets always comment that she presents as much younger). She has not been outside my home without me ever in her life. The Cat Clinic prevented me from going in the office with her "due to Covid." I was then told she was too agitated to examine and required IV sedation ($400 alone). They gave me an estimate of $1200-$1500 to examine her, payment required before the exam. When I asked the doctor what she thought the issue might be, she rattled off a list of conditions and invasive treatments that I would never put Lois through at her age. I told them to bring her back to me and sat confronting my healthy cat's sudden mortality. Then, the owner of the Clinic came out and presented a revised estimate of $750-$950 (Is this even legal?). Not sure why this wasn't the first estimate, so I have to assume they had tried to take advantage of me. Since I was desperate to learn why Lois was suffering, and it is nearly impossible to get an appointment in the Valley for a new animal, I agreed to the new estimate. Was told I would receive a call in 45 minutes. Two and a half hours later, they called to say they had done nothing, and it would be another 5 hours before they would be finished. I told them to bring her back to me. During this process, I spoke with 4 different people at the Clinic, all of whom gave me conflicting information. When I got Lois home, her hind legs were significantly weaker than before Cat Clinic took her from me. When I brought Lois to a different vet, she was examined with no issues (I'd given her CBD Oil - $30) and was treated for a serious UTI, which I had already figured out was the problem based on my own research. The new vet said the weakness in her legs was due to a strained pelvic ligament - which unquestionably occurred while she was being held by Cat Clinic. The entire process at the new vet took 1 hour and cost $210. Thank God I did not put Lois through the IV sedation that Cat Clinic required to examine my cat instead of telling me they couldn't treat her - this is animal abuse. I advise avoiding this place at all costs - buyer beware. read more

BUT Took our cat in for a check up.......returned with a cat that was unable to walk without falling over.....and is now totally DEAF. Tragic ! Whichever tech or vet that decided to clean our cat's ears so badly damaged them, our cat no longer has hearing..... it took almost two weeks for him to recover from the ear abuse that he now walks normally....BUT his hearing is gone. I took Charlie to The Cat Clinic because the rescue I got him from, Kittyland, was taking him there and they'd know him best. Charlie seems to have IBD, and can only eat one kind of dry food, no treats or people. He's a great cat, filled out to 11 lbs of strength and affection. I took my 19 year old torti cat to Dr Diaz today with the grim reality of having to put her to sleep. Once she examined her, she said oh no she's still got life & I'll fix her up!! Freckles stayed at the clinic for 2 hours while tests were run, thyroid, kidneys & blood samples.... All turned out great, except an eye infection. I saw the other reviews but my experience wasn't anything like them. In fact, the kind and helpful folks at the Cat Clinic gave me a proper diagnosis and went above and beyond to help me and my fur baby Sammy. Long story short, my baby boy wasn't doing great. I took him to the VCA emergency hospital where they said he had asthma. After a week he was not improving and I wanted a second opinion. No other vets in the area were taking new patients and I went down the list on google. The Cat Clinic, Rachel especially, was able to get my Sammy in right away to figure out what was wrong. They ran a few tests and I was able to take him home for the evening. I took him back the next morning to finish up the tests, due to the specialist not being there the day before. Sadly, when Dr. Caine called it wasn't good news. My poor baby was borderline diabetic, his kidneys were going downhill as well as his pancreas, his esophagus was inflamed, and he had 2 tumors.... The VCA caught none of these things and charged me up the wazoo for a wrongful diagnosis. The folks at the cat clinic allowed my Sammy boy to have peace and end the suffering I could see he was going through. The VCA would have had me only giving him inhalers and steroids. I know some have not had the best experience here but I can honestly say that these kind souls went above and beyond for me and my Sammy. Brought my 18 yr old cat on 1/14/2022 to Dr Diaz at the Cat Clinic bcuz she wasn't feeling well. Cat was vomiting, sleeping a lot and appeared weak. Diaz said she could extend the life of my cat a couple of years but first wanted to run some tests. Through the doctors confusing speech pattern, she sounded convincing and I left my cat in her care. After 5 days of "testing and treatment", I brought her home. They showed me how to give her daily IV fluids which made me very nervous. My cat was like a zombie. She wouldn't move off the bed. I took her back to Dr Diaz on 1/26/2022 and she was checked back into the clinic for more testing and treatment. My girl was euthanized and cremated a few days later. Bill totaled $4,500. Looking back now with a clearer mindset, I've come to realize that my cat was dying when I first brought her in. I feel misled and taken advantage of, but mostly, I am heartbroken and horrified with what she went through during the last weeks of her life. I believe this doctor swindled me then tortured her for the money. If only I had been consulted to euthanize her on the first day. read more

My cat was extremely sick. I had gone to the animal Samaritan's hospital out in Indio but all they did was made me wait for hours and gave me liquid steroids. A few months later my cat's condition grew worse. The cat clinic staff were able to get me in right away ...but delivered the worst possible news. I've been taking my cats to the Cat Clinic for many years. I've also referred my mom and her two cats, as well as neighbors and friends all over the Valley. Between our cats and everyone we've referred, we've been a source of 10s of 1000s of dollars for the Clinic. Despite this, we noticed over the past 5 or so years a steep dive in their bedside manner in distressing situations especially, disastrous office administration, and alarmingly high staff turnover. Extremely rude treatment, to boot. I suspect that even though Dr. Diaz is back there, she is no longer the owner because this place is a mess. Purchasing prescription food and supplies has become a nightmare. We follow the rules: Call ahead to place the order, call before arriving. You get there after calling ahead to see if order is ready, you get there and nothing is ready, so you ask if you can still pick up the items and they make you wait for a good 15+ minutes, oftentimes only to find out they're out of what you came for in the first place. Receptionist Rachel is literally Nurse Ratchet. She plays games on the phone and withholds service and supplies. Downright cruel woman. On top of that, we noticed they're marking up items up to 100%. This is something they lied about. How do we know? Because we asked for approval to order prescriptions online but they gave us the runaround and said "we'll order it for you and you can come back." We said that's kind of a hassle, why can't they just approve this time? They got nasty about that and reverted to "we'll have it for you by next week." We didn't want to argue or put our cats in a pickle with their supply needs, so we went along. But it's gotten even worse over the last three years trying to get supplies. They just don't want to cooperate unless you bring your cat in for a general exam in order to issue the prescription food. It hadn't even been a full 10 months and they wanted to withhold prescription food until I brought my cats in for a check-up, each of which would cost $600+!!! What decent vet does this??? Extortion? Aside from that, I had to put down a kitten about five years ago. A doctor there was extremely rude and insensitive. She put us in a room to say goodbye to the kitten after the euthanasia. After only TWO minutes, while we were still bawling, she shooed us out and said "okay ladies, time to go. Kitty is gone." The clinic was having a slow day! We gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she had a bad day, continuing to come back in hopes of the best care. You'd think after all this time, all these cats, the thousands spent there, the dozens of visits to pick up supplies, and multiple referrals, they'd know us--or our cats--by name or face, at least enough to get dignified treatment and respect--nothing more, no special treatment, just common courtesy. The entire staff is rude and hostile. Dr. Diaz is abrupt, elusive, and inaccessible. The rest of the doctors picking up her slack are totally apathetic. It's clearly become all about money here, no longer about the cats' wellbeing. If you want to be financially gouged, deceived, and demoralized, go to the Cat Clinic. read more

I found a group of feral cats off Hwy 111 in palm desert and caught 3 kittens I am going to have spayed and neutered. THEIR cost for a spay - $700.00!!!!!!!!!! I am from L.A. and it's not that much from bottom feeders there!! They kill and treat cats like they are rats because there is such an over population of them EVERYWHERE and definitely here in the desert, a real s&% show described by one rescue organization here. I really wish I had read the reviews for this AWFUL excuse for a vet clinic. DO NOT go here! Here's my experience for a couple of weeks ago. I arrived promptly at 9am and called to notify the staff. They asked the usual questions about my cats age and health, who was a first time patient at this location and only needed a wellness exam. A few minutes later Vet tech A came out to have me sign paperwork which included an option for CPR or DNR (do not resuscitate) yikes, but ok. She let me know that she would take my cat inside where vet tech B would get him signed in, etc before the vet was to see him (who hadn't yet arrived.) 9:25am the vet arrives... 9:38am vet tech 2 calls to ask me more questions about my cats health history and previous vet information. Admittedly my indoor senior boy hadn't been to a vet in at least three years and his last vet had retired so no, I don't have any medical history on him. I also added that I had moved over a year ago and it's been complicated getting him in. Vet tech 2 was obviously judging me and had an attitude, let me know at this time that she or the doctor would call me about how to proceed after he'd been looked at by the vet. 9:54am vet tech 2 calls again, still no doctor and more questions about my cat. 10:16am the vet calls! Finally. She asks if my cat is usually grumpy. I explain that he's old and sometimes can be aggressive with strangers, which I explained to vet tech 1 upon arrival. She offered to give him a light sedative and that if that didn't chill him out enough to get blood from him that a twilight inducing sedation would be next. She also stated that a tech would be out to show me a break down of the pricing before they went ahead with anything. 10:21am vet tech 2 calls and reluctantly tells me that my total will be in the $600-$800 range. I'm sorry. But no. I let them know I'm denying this and taking my grumpy cat home. Of course they charge me the $75 appointment fee for doing absolutely nothing. 10:45am Another tech brings my cat out and has me sign the receipt and mentions that she moved from the east coast also and vet bills are higher out here. I let her know that my other cat had a chem 24 and wellness exam at VCA a week prior just as I had asked for $330 out the door. This place should be shut down read more

Recently I brought a cat from a shelter in bad shape needing hospitalization Have been visiting her much. I witnessed her and team. They all are so loving. Sweet talk while treating & more. Previous hospital I worked was nothing like that Move em in, move em out. No kind words. No kisses. Yu never walk out after an exam saying What just happened? WARNING! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAT HERE! If I could give this clinic a 0 stars review I would. This is by far the worst place to take your cat! Do not do it! Waste of time and waste of money. My sister and I took our cat to this clinic do to a UTI. After our cat was there for 4 hours ! They called us to let us know he might have crystals and that our cat was in a lot of paint . Also that the total cost of this would be over 1500$ my sister and I in full panic concerned for our cat asked the Vet to do whatever possible to save our cat and reduce any pain. They told us at 4:45 that our cat was almost ready to get picked up and they would have to schedule a later procedure. We asked if we could go get him And the woman on the phone told us NO. That they would call us at a later time when he was ready they were just letting us know about the later procedure. We waited for the call to pick up our poor kitty thinking he was in so much pain and we just wanted to see him since our kitty had been gone all day. At around 6pm we did not hear from them and we started to get concerned I told my sister that although they closed at 5pm maybe the vet was working on the cat on their own in the back and they had a skeleton staff do to the Covid pandemic. At around 7pm we started to get really scared and we headed over. We headed over to the clinic to knock we knocked the door really loud multiple times. There was no cars surrounding the building the clinic looked empty. We knocked all the windows all the doors we were in panic we had no idea what happened to our cat. Almost as if someone else picked up our cat. We really thought someone stole our kitty. We knocked the clinic till 8pm and almost called the cops. We went home and prayed for our cat we were so confused and so concerned we had no idea where our sick little kitty was. We showed up to the clinic the next day as soon as they opened and this clinics incoherent staff had forgotten our cat in the clinic !!! They left our cat in there overnight in his carrier bag. My cat was completely zipped in the small bag. My cat had peed on himself and had pooped on himself. Our cat was so starved. He had been there all day the day before without eating and the morning without food he was covered in pee and poop and was in his small carrier. My poor kitty was traumatized. Not only did they forget my cat they refused to give us our cat back until we payed an "over night " fee. THEY PRACTICALLY CHARGED US FOR KEEPING OUR CAT HOSTAGE" the customer service was horrible! When we confronted them about not calling us they said that the receptionist probably "wrote the wrong number" after we asked them to confirm our number twice! And they were able to call me to let me know about the 1500$ charge but not about the fact that they were going to keep my poor sick kitty overnight ?!!!!!!! What?! How does any of this make sense Cat Clinic!!!??? I understand there is a pandemic and a lot of paces are short staffed but this is on another level horrendous! This clinic kept my pet over night without my consent. I regret not calling the cops on this place for not informing me or asking for my consent to keep my cat. I will contact my attorney and sue this place for the emotional distress it has cause my sister and I and keeping my cat without consent overnight practically holding my cat hostage until I payed a bill for lab tests that were not even given to us because we refused to continue any further treatment with them after the nightmare we went through. We took our cat to the Desert Dunes Animal Hospital and they took great care of our cat and only charged us about $400 for full treatment which was less than a third of what this horrible cat torture clinic wanted to charge us. Do not take your cat here! Please beware of this clinic! Save your cat the suffering and take him to the Desert Dunes Animal Hospital. read more
