So forget social distancing! We placed our order, paid by credit card. Then we noticed their was nowhere to sit or stand to wait for our carry out. They were neither exceptionally friendly or helpful. People who brag about the service must have family that work there. I got a "bowl" of the Shrimp Etouffee. It was SALTY as all get out! Aside from that it was oily too! There was far more rice than etouffee. If the portion I had was a "bowl" then the "cup" must be a thimble. My partner liked the fried catfish and fried shrimp ok, but he complained the fish was also too salty. I I am not inclined to return by any means. We waited nearly an HOUR, literally, to get our food! I spoke to a family of three sitting by where we were ordering and the father also said he and his wife and daughter had been waiting nearly an hour and had not yet gotten their food. He too was not happy. I went out to the car to wait on my partner as it was hot in the restaurant and there was nowhere to sit inside. The floorplan and layout of the place is absurd. We stood in a line for several minutes before a customer told us we were in the drink line, not the food line. Long story short... VERY BAD FIRST IMPRESSION. I doubt I'll give them another chance. Went to the catch yesterday at 2:30pm.... not very busy but food took FOREVER to come out and when it did it was a hot mess.... Ordered and appetizer that didn't come out until we had already finished our meal and desert... The wife ordered a blackened shrimp salad that she said was just OK and the shrimp were small... it was supposed to come with either hushpuppies or garlic bread but it was missing from her meal... I ordered the 3 shrimp and 1 catfish fillet and when it came the hushpuppies were stone cold, the shrimp was very over battered and just warm... the fries were hot and good and the fish was hot and just average... I had the bignets for desert and while they did come out piping hot they were a big disappointment... they were very thick and doughy more like a fried biscuit with powdered sugar on them. Our interaction with the acting manager was as disappointing as the meal itself... with all of the issues you would think he would comp the meal or at least one of the meals... his attitude didn't seem sincere and his excuse was that they were NOT busy like they had been so things are disorganized... really? you are NOT busy so there was problems? seems like that would be the other way around... anyway end result was that he took the appetizer off the bill... a little bit of a concession but in my opinion not enough of an effort to keep my return business so I will not be going back... honestly had better fish/shrimp at Cracker Barrell which isn't even a seafood joint. overall impression a 2 out of 5 stars read more

Went there on Friday afternoon around 5. It was pretty busy. Ordered Gumbo, 8 Shrimp Basket and the Shrimp PoBoy. They food was delivered quickly and hot. The gumbo was fantastic, they didn't have Tabasco sauce but did have Louisiana Hot Sauce. The roux was delicious and there was sausage, shrimp and chicken, I think. I was going to share with my spouse but she was too slow and only got a few bites. Her PoBoy was huge. It was very good, the shrimp were perfectly fried and the bread was fresh and tasty. My Shrimp basket had jumbo shrimp and they too were perfectly fried. I got the white rice and it was fine but next time I will get one of the other sides. Service was friendly and quick. I love gumbo and eat it whenever I can. My grandfather was Cajun and made a mean bowl of gumbo. This was almost as good as homemade. I definitely will be back to try other items. We have been going to the Broadway Catch from day they opened. Unfortunately, things are going downhill. Most importantly the catfish has become smaller and very thin. I'm conflicted because the flavor of what I had (shrimp/sausage/potatoes/corn) boil was really good. The hushpuppies were good, too. I used them to eat the leftover sauce, which was delicious. It was the one that combined all of the flavors. I would most definitely have it again. I had the banana pudding, too. Yeah, I ate it all, but it was just okay. I would not order it again, but dessert is not their specialty, so okay. I was not impressed with the service. First, they were out of crab, at lunchtime, on a Saturday. Went to The Catch during lunch on a Thursday. First of all the parking lot I am not a fan of however, the food and the service is good. I was not expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. Make sure if you are looking for fist to order the farm raised catfish, as they have two options on their menu. The cashier was nice enough to let me know there were two options instead of automatically letting me order the "catch" fish. I had the catfish, fries and hush puppies. I should have ordered one fillet have mercy I was full. Great seasoning and flavor on the fish, fries and hush puppies were delicious. Also had boiled shrimp and fried green tomatoes. The free drinks was a nice bonus however the hurricane needs something more. The swirl was delicious but sugary. I will be back for the food but I do not need the free drinks. read more

This was a saturday night my husband and I just relocated to Dallas we live in Rowlett and didn't want to go downtown. So he looked on yelp for what we wanted to eat. I didn't know they only had 3 stars or we wouldn't have come here. I just saw the stars when I came to do this post. These two stars goes to the staff they were attentive, pleasant and were working quickly. The female cashier was especially patient and pleasant. The food was ok. The okra and fried oysters had too much batter. I sat there and peeled off layers of batter. I ended having more batter than okra and oysters. the rice and beans were tasty. I do think they should offer this side without pork bec not everyone likes pork. Because of covid 19, they didn't have menus not even paper copies that can be thrown away after, like other restaurants are offering. So you had to either stand at the entrance and read the menu board high up on the wall or wait to get to the cash register were they had 2 menus taped. The placing of these two menus made zero sense. Place the menus along the line so folks can decide before getting to the cashier. A duh It was just ok, I can't see why I'd return. If anything I'd order some oysters for take out and request less batter. Shake off some of the batter before deep frying. read more
