Special Shout out to PACO, great guy, superb service, wonderful smile and unmatched energy; wanted to try a new spot with my girlfriend, she's been there before so I tried for the first time...and I will be BACK, loved every bite of everything I had. 11/10

NO BUENO!!!!!

The food we ordered was all delicious! We ordered Pineapple Mahi Mahi, Aguachile, fries, and grilled shrimp & scallops. You go to the counter, order, & they bring it out to you. The staff were all nice. The only thing I think they should probably work on is the mess on the ground that customers leave. The tables were clean but when we went there, a good number of dirty napkins were scattered on the ground. It would be dangerous if someone slipped on it.

This review has lost 1star only because they don't tell you that they charge for tips when you pay. Only after you pay and you see your ticket is when you see they have charged a sizeable tip, AND because they don't actually go to you're table more than 2 times. What is the service tip if you don't actually get a good service? Anyway. Food is great I have zero complaints, I got a seafood combo platter or something like that. It is based on market price and I also got a margarita on the side. Both decisions were awesome! If you like the famous boiling crab you will like this for sure. I got the it spicy and extra lemons on the side. If you do decide to stop by I guarantee you will like. I had a taste of the fry's and po boy from a friend and it was just as good. Guys don't waste time and check it out! The place is clean and it's spacious enough to bring in a big group. You can tell they take pride in cleanliness and their seating areas. The ambient is great and the bar is a plus for those mixed drinks. Another thing I didn't like is that you have to ask for everything. You need a bib to not get dirty? You got to get up and ask. You want butter for you're crab legs? Get up and ask for it. You want gloves to not get messy? Gotta ask for it. I mean it's basic stuff you need to no get you're clothes all dirty or for the crab legs. If it wasn't for the food, this would have been a bad review.

I'm trying this place for the first time so I don't know what to expect. Everything looks good but they are out of Crown Royal. So I'm waiting till they get some. Other than that, so far so good.

Customer service was great and fast, food was really fresh and hot. Soft drinks you get up to get your own refills which I'm fine with. There was live music so that was really nice. You walk in and it looks small but they have a wide dinning room enough seating

The food here is absolutely amazing and the portion sizes are huge. I definitely recommend the pineapple salmon. It was cooked to perfection and the pineapple sauce should be sold in stores. Everyone in our party throughly enjoyed their meals. Check them out for yourself, you won't regret it.

Hard to not give them a 5 star. The place has plenty of seating, but he line moved fast, and the food came out quickly. The beer was cold, food was hot, and the location is nicely placed in downtown Garland. There was some drama while we were there but i feel like it was the customer's fault so I'm not going to hold that against them. When it comes to the food, drinks, and service they are hitting on all cylinders. I definitely recommend if you want some good seafood. Ok now bye bye then!

So fire. The aguachiles are the best I've ever had. You need to come to downtown garland for the aguachiles. The Richardson location and Wylie location are not as great. Seafood boil is always fire. Casa view and Garland are the best location

If you're looking for a fun place with mouthwatering seafood and outstanding hospitality, we highly recommend giving Kickin' Crab a try. We can't wait to come back! My friends and I are on a cross country road trip and were really craving a seafood boil--We found…read morethis spot on Yelp, about 15 minutes from our hotel, so we decided to check it out. -- Combo #1, which lets you pick 3 out of 4 seafood options for $47, plus corn, sausage, and potatoes. We chose crawfish, mussels, and shrimp head-on with Cajun&Garlic butter--it tasted super tangy for some reason, I think they may have accidentally added lemon pepper but it was good still. --My other friend got 1 lb of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp with mild Louisiana sauce, which was sweet and buttery. The Louisiana sauce is definitely the go to choice, if you dont know which to get. --We also got rice (a bit dry but perfect for soaking up the sauce) and steamed broccoli, which was cooked deliciously. -- And the only other thing I would mention, is the shrimp and mussels were of good size but the crawfish was on the skinnier/small size.. a little disappointed but still great, nonetheless. The service was great, and everyone was really friendly. Ambiance wise, the store is small and decorated with a beach shack vibe.

I ordered the Coddle Plate ($18.95), which is described as tilapia and jumbo shrimp sautéed with…read morehouse seasonings, topped with a creamy cheese sauce mixed with pico de gallo, served with basil white rice. What I received was completely inedible. The tilapia was burnt and tasted almost rotten, not just overcooked but scorched to the point where the flavor was overpowering and unpleasant. The shrimp were also burnt to a crisp. The tails were visibly blackened, not charred for flavor, but burned. I managed maybe three bites before having to stop. No amount of cheese could cover how bad the fish tasted, and it honestly felt like the cheese was being used to mask a serious cooking issue. This was a complete waste of nearly $20. I also ordered the Grits & Gumbo, described as deep-fried grits with a crunchy exterior topped with house seafood gumbo. The grits were hard and bland, not flavorful. The gumbo itself was disappointing: the roux was thin and bitter, lacking depth or seasoning. The only decent part of the dish was the shrimp, but that alone couldn't save it. I finished the gumbo, so I'm not expecting a refund there, but the coddle plate absolutely should be refunded. It was genuinely inedible. Unfortunately, based on this experience, Flying Fish will not be getting any more of my business. Whoever is running the kitchen does not understand execution, seasoning, or basic seafood preparation. Strongly do not recommend.

Combo Banh Beo Nhan Kho and Uot ($12.95): You get 3 of the dried shrimp and 3 of the mixed toppings with chopped shrimp, pork, mushroom, fried shallots, and peanuts. Both were good but I liked the mixed toppings version a bit more. Usually banh beo is topped with fried pork fat but the dried shrimp one came with croutons instead which was very interesting and actually worked really well. You get a nice crispy and crunchy contrast with each bite. Banh Hoi Dac Biet ($24.95): Everything on this plate was delicious. I had never seen seafood paired with banh hoi before so this was a first for me. The seafood included squid and scallop and the grilled pork was nicely charred. The ground beef wrapped in grape leaves broke apart easily and was just okay but the sugarcane shrimp was my favorite of everything on the plate. Ca Phe Khoai Mon ($6): Wow the coffee is super strong. The ube foam was really good and paired well with the coffee without overpowering it. This definitely woke me up and I could not sleep that night after drinking just half of it at 6 PM. Tra Tac Thai Xanh ($5.50): Really good and tasted different from other places I have tried. The drink was a deep dark green color and the kumquat flavor came through even though you could not see any yellow color in it.

I am not a big fish person and hubby loves something fried so a healthy fishy meal isn't our first go to, but we went outside our normal tonight. And we left so satisfied. We did the crab fingers (special on the black board... pay attention to the specials they are fire). Tons of crab for the price and the chowder type sauce was so good.
