NO BUENO!!!!!

The food we ordered was all delicious! We ordered Pineapple Mahi Mahi, Aguachile, fries, and grilled shrimp & scallops. You go to the counter, order, & they bring it out to you. The staff were all nice. The only thing I think they should probably work on is the mess on the ground that customers leave. The tables were clean but when we went there, a good number of dirty napkins were scattered on the ground. It would be dangerous if someone slipped on it.

I'm trying this place for the first time so I don't know what to expect. Everything looks good but they are out of Crown Royal. So I'm waiting till they get some. Other than that, so far so good.

This review has lost 1star only because they don't tell you that they charge for tips when you pay. Only after you pay and you see your ticket is when you see they have charged a sizeable tip, AND because they don't actually go to you're table more than 2 times. What is the service tip if you don't actually get a good service? Anyway. Food is great I have zero complaints, I got a seafood combo platter or something like that. It is based on market price and I also got a margarita on the side. Both decisions were awesome! If you like the famous boiling crab you will like this for sure. I got the it spicy and extra lemons on the side. If you do decide to stop by I guarantee you will like. I had a taste of the fry's and po boy from a friend and it was just as good. Guys don't waste time and check it out! The place is clean and it's spacious enough to bring in a big group. You can tell they take pride in cleanliness and their seating areas. The ambient is great and the bar is a plus for those mixed drinks. Another thing I didn't like is that you have to ask for everything. You need a bib to not get dirty? You got to get up and ask. You want butter for you're crab legs? Get up and ask for it. You want gloves to not get messy? Gotta ask for it. I mean it's basic stuff you need to no get you're clothes all dirty or for the crab legs. If it wasn't for the food, this would have been a bad review.

Customer service was great and fast, food was really fresh and hot. Soft drinks you get up to get your own refills which I'm fine with. There was live music so that was really nice. You walk in and it looks small but they have a wide dinning room enough seating

So fire. The aguachiles are the best I've ever had. You need to come to downtown garland for the aguachiles. The Richardson location and Wylie location are not as great. Seafood boil is always fire. Casa view and Garland are the best location

The food here is absolutely amazing and the portion sizes are huge. I definitely recommend the pineapple salmon. It was cooked to perfection and the pineapple sauce should be sold in stores. Everyone in our party throughly enjoyed their meals. Check them out for yourself, you won't regret it.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the decent size of their crawfish this season, especially considering how hard they've been to find elsewhere. The oysters have also been consistently good-sized during my recent visits. I've experienced varying crowd levels here; weekdays tend to be less busy, but last Saturday had a line out the door, so i would recommend to come prepared for a wait. Despite the crowds, the ample seating helps accommodate everyone, although the noise level can escalate with the lively atmosphere of people enjoying each other's company.

We chose crawfish, mussels, and shrimp head-on with Cajun&Garlic butter--it tasted super tangy for some reason, I think they may have accidentally added lemon pepper but it was good still. --My other friend got 1 lb of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp with mild Louisiana sauce, which was sweet and buttery. The Louisiana sauce is definitely the go to choice, if you dont know which to get. --We also got rice (a bit dry but perfect for soaking up the sauce) and steamed broccoli, which was cooked deliciously. -- And the only other thing I would mention, is the shrimp and mussels were of good size but the crawfish was on the skinnier/small size.. a little disappointed but still great, nonetheless. The service was great, and everyone was really friendly. Ambiance wise, the store is small and decorated with a beach shack vibe.

What I received was completely inedible. The tilapia was burnt and tasted almost rotten, not just overcooked but scorched to the point where the flavor was overpowering and unpleasant. The shrimp were also burnt to a crisp. The tails were visibly blackened, not charred for flavor, but burned. I managed maybe three bites before having to stop. No amount of cheese could cover how bad the fish tasted, and it honestly felt like the cheese was being used to mask a serious cooking issue. This was a complete waste of nearly $20. I also ordered the Grits & Gumbo, described as deep-fried grits with a crunchy exterior topped with house seafood gumbo. The grits were hard and bland, not flavorful. The gumbo itself was disappointing: the roux was thin and bitter, lacking depth or seasoning. The only decent part of the dish was the shrimp, but that alone couldn't save it. I finished the gumbo, so I'm not expecting a refund there, but the coddle plate absolutely should be refunded. It was genuinely inedible. Unfortunately, based on this experience, Flying Fish will not be getting any more of my business. Whoever is running the kitchen does not understand execution, seasoning, or basic seafood preparation. Strongly do not recommend.

So on a Saturday late morning 11:45am we walked into what is a very clean and welcoming restaurant. There were already a number of tables (mostly of Asian descent which is always a good sign). The menu is extensive and everything sounds so inviting. As a table of 4 we ordered the Bun Dau Mam Tom (mixed platter with fried tofu, boiled and crispy pork belly and green sticky rice patties) to share. Then I had the clay pot with rice and seafood with Chinese sausage and vegetables. Another guest had the same but with clams and pork belly. Both tasted amazing and so flavorful. You knowBobby Flay is known for his crispy rice.... Boy this chef definitely knows his crispy rice!! Another guest had Bun Rieu Oc with snails, yet another tasty dish. And the 4th person at our table really enjoyed the grilled pork chop Com Tam Dac Biet dish. Plenty of food, very very authentic flavors, great service and clean. We split a bunch of stuff family style which was a great move. Our favorites were the Banh Beo Chen with crispy fried shrimp topping, the grilled turmeric dill fish (so nice we ordered it twice!), and the bo ne (super tender beef, excellent pate). The coconut snails were also unique and excellent and a huge portion; would definitely recommend getting a side of rice or noodles to eat the gravy with because it's super delicious and does require some sort of carb to eat it all. It's a little too thick and flavorful to drink alone as a soup, lol. Somehow the bo luc lac wasn't nearly as tender as the beef in the bo ne, sadly; probably wouldn't order it again. Lemongrass chicken was solid though, and the nem nuong pork spring rolls was a small portion but really delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. There's a lot of stuff on their menu I would love to come back and try, and this spot is pretty close to a bunch of friends, so I'm sure we'll be back!

The menu pricing is fair given its seafood but not super affordable either. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were massive! The best thing, in my opinion, were the Mac and cheese crab cakes. A truly genius combination. Lastly, the fried catfish was just okay. It was kind of bland but not super crispy either.
