This lounge is simply OK. I am used to Delta Sky Lounges, KLM Lounges, Korean Air Lounges in the USA and around the world, and this lounge does not come close to meeting these standards. Not a lot of comfortable seating. No coffee available - machines were down. Breakfast menu didn't have a lot of options. Better than sitting by the gates, but not a great place in terms of lounges. Compared to Escape lounges, Centurion is the way to go. The Phoenix Centurion Lounge compared to others is pretty terrible though. There's not as much food as others and it's barely kept full. You have to ask for almost everything and then the staff roll their eyes at you. Right now as I look at the food line there's no plates, forks, or spoons. Also it's ridiculously hot in here, it's like they forgot they are in a desert. Even the staff have complained about the heat in here. This is my 4-5th visit here and it's always like this. I will continue to return because it's a place to sit and the food and drinks are free, but they can definitely up their game to come close to other Centurion Lounges. read more

This time Yolanda welcomed us with exceptional hospitality and she was helpful and through with any concerns we had, we will definitely be back because o the great service she give us. Hands down the worst Centurion Lounge I've been to. There was no vegetarian protein on the small buffet when I came through. No good looking deserts or anything appealing. I spent 30 minutes round trip walking to this lounge, only to leave within minutes of arrival due to the poor food selection (a tiny fajita bar and some cookies). They did not provide to go coffee cups (Denver does). I left with nothing but wasted time, and rush ordered a veggie burger on my way through my terminal. Great Centurion in Phx. SO glad that they opened one in my main flying hub. I definitely give 5 starts for a few reasons. 1, this lounge has ample space for seating and isn't nearly as cramped as the DFW or DEN lounges. 2, nice food choices that are all served buffet style and are restocked frequently. 3, beautiful views of the tarmac and phx area. 4, there are absolutely no other lounges of this caliber in PHX. A comparison to an admiral lounge would be dismal. Despite a long walk to some of the gates, the Centurion Lounge is totally worth a stop by in the PHX airport and would highly recommend it. I've visited this lounge multiple times over the years and have always had a good experience. However, I visited on April 2 and was very disappointed. When I arrived to check in, I let the woman there, Latanya, know that I had a guest to add as well and inquired about the Escape Lounge next door since I was curious about whether they were accepting guests. She very rudely told me that the Escape lounge doesn't take Amex members. And I said, "oh, I didn't realize that, since I've gotten in multiple times with my Amex Platinum, and it's also listed in the app." She then tried to process the $50 guest fee with my card multiple times and grew increasingly irritated that it wasn't working, and finally told me to move over to the Escape lounge staff so that they could take care of my card. I noted that Latanya also didn't greet me or my guest when we first arrived. I then watched her greet the next 3 groups of guests with a smile and she was very warm toward them. I don't know if Latanya was just having a bad day, but she needs a serious attitude adjustment before she works in a customer-facing role. My guest also tried to get a drink at the bar and the bartender with the mustache was rude to him as well. I've been to this lounge multiple times and have always had wonderful experiences with the staff. It leaves a very bad taste in my mouth to be treated with such a horrible attitude especially when I am paying for a guest to join me. read more

I was irritated the bartender let me know there is a 4 drink maximum per person?? If I have a long layover or wait for my flight I don't see why there would be a limit, but OK. read more

I had read so many reviews trashing this place and was really on the fence. Happy I tried it. My experience could not have been more different. Short wait but I was in in less than 10 min. Very clean and two staff working nonstop cleaning and assisting nonstop durning my 3 hours there (cleanliness and food seem to be the two biggest issues, seems they've listened). Bartenders very friendly and never waited for a drink. Food was fantastic, good salad bar, turkey breast, brisket, mashed potatoes and gravy. Always filled and fresh. One thing that is different is this is a more straightforward space, mainly open rooms with tables and bar height seating. Not the nooks and secluded areas of other Centurions. Can't wait to go back! read more

Disgusted that this Lounge can be considered part of the AMEX Centurian Lounge experience. The food bar was nearly empty and looked to have been torn apart. I asked when fresh food was being brought out and was met with attitude. So I quietly walked away (feeling embarrassed) to go sit back in my chair only to be annoyed with seven different loud mouth ill-mannered children running rampant. A football game was on the tv for everyone to enjoy and a couple asked to have it changed to cartoons. Cartoons...in a lounge that adults who pay a premium are supposed to enjoy prior to boarding. I was disgusted with the entire lounge experience. From the crowd of children and parents not watching their kids, to the lack of food available for cardholders who pay a premium to access the lounge. Not sure my $695 annual fee with my platinum card is worth this experience. That being said, nearly every lounge I've accessed domestically and internationally is lovely but when it comes to Phoenix, it's straight up trash. read more

While visiting airline lounges is certainly a unique thing that only so many people have experienced, there are different classes of airline lounges, and I truly believe that Centurion Lounges are among the better ones (at least within the United States). I had always looked forward to traveling through Dallas or Philadelphia, or another city with a Centurion Lounge. In fact, I got spoiled enjoying a free massage when passing through Dallas. I've been disappointed in my lack of traveling since the pandemic appeared though I had looked forward to traveling again when I learned that the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (my local airport) will now have both a Centurion Lounge and an Escape Lounge in Terminal Four, lounges known for chef-inspired food and drinks that go well beyond cheese and crackers and house wines. At Terminal Four in Sky Harbor, I have usually frequented the Admirals Club, but this past month, I visited the Phoenix Centurion Lounge for my first time for a short but memorable visit. Having heard stories of long lines and waits, I was pleased to have no wait though I was warned that there may only be high top tables available. I checked in at the B-concourse of Terminal 4 and then took the elevator to the lounge floor. I was greeted and directed into the lounge where I passed a large relaxing lounge area and then a bar with a buffet style table. I found a seat in between them and grabbed some breakfast food and juice just prior to the change from breakfast to lunch. I let a long line of people go through and finish most of the plates over a 5-10 minute period while I read a book and avoided the line. I was fascinated to see that the food just kept coming out, which included a hot chicken dish, a rice dish with beef, a salad, veggies, and cookies (among more food that I didn't choose to try). I was certainly filled up prior to heading to my flight shortly thereafter. While my gate was in the A-concourse, I took the moving walkway and found that it was only a 5-10 minute walk to get from security to the Centurion Lounge and again back to my gate. The Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal 4 across from Gate B22 on the upper level. The hours are 7 AM to 7 PM daily. Note that though there is an Escape Lounge next door, both lounges use the same kitchen, and there is a policy that says that card holders may not visit both the Centurion Lounge and Escape Lounge at Sky Harbor in the same day. The lounge's amenities include a premium bar with complimentary drinks and food, high-speed wifi, workspaces, print/fax/copy, and magazines and newspapers. While many clubs offer an opportunity for anyone to buy a one-day pass, the Centurion Lounge does not. Rather, only American Express card holders who have a Centurion Card, AMEX Platinum, or one of a few select other cards can access it complimentary as a card benefit. Currently, they can also bring in up to 2 guests for free though starting in 2023, there will be a per-person guest charge while the card holder can continue to access the lounge for free. I'm definitely going to be a monthly visitor to this excellent Centurion Lounge - I'm so glad that we finally have a high quality lounge at PHX! We stopped by on Friday night before flying out for a long weekend, so you'd expect it to be crowded, but we easily found seating with a view of the planes landing and taking off. This lounge feels twice the size of the Seattle Centurion lounge, and we could have grabbed seats in any one of several rooms. Staff seemed very happy and friendly, joking around while cleaning, and the bartenders were rocking it. Try a coffee martini - it's delicious! Food had a Mexican flare with a bit of kick, heavy on the veggies and protein and light on the unhealthy/boring carbs. Having this lounge available at my home airport definitely justifies the annual fee on the Platinum card. read more

I've been to this lounge for both morning and daytime offerings and it's been underwhelming (severely so for breakfast) in all aspects. On my breakfast visit (~7:30am), the options were standard but extremely poorly executed. Some things were passable, like the pale croissants that turned out to be the best available option, some were not, like the pale potatoes that didn't look like they had seen any type of seasoning or cooking element, but mostly it was all unacceptably cold. Everything felt as though it had been taken directly from the fridge and onto the line, where it then sat trying to get to room temperature until it hit my plate and sat at a cool 68F (my guesstimate). Literally everything, from those sad potatoes to the equally sad and dry chorizo/egg scramble to the oatmeal SITTING IN A WARMING POT, was served below room temperature. I would have had a better breakfast if I had gotten eggs from McDonald's across the way. On my late afternoon visit, the bar was heavily crowded and it took me about 10 minutes to get a drink order in. Not the bartender's fault at all, but I'm not sure why management decided it would be a good idea to only have one bartender for peak hours on Friday. The food was better, but still painfully average. The water/coffee area was out of glasses/cups for quite a while after we arrived, yet another oversight during a very popular time. There aren't many, if any, other amenities to speak of here. It's a pretty big disappointment compared to other Centurion lounges, especially given that this is now the second newest Centurion. Not worth an early visit to the airport, but if you happen to be there anyway you might as well stop in for some free booze. read more

We came to the Centurion lounge, and there was a long line. The reception area people told us that we could wait for people to slowly be let in (because they were limiting entrance)to the Escape Lounge--which they said had the same food and drinks as in the Centurion Lounge. I don't think that the food was the same, and the accommodations weren't the same. When I went to ask the Centurion Lounge about whether the food really was the same, the attendant wasn't very pleasant and said it was exactly the same, and we couldn't switch lounges. Also, the Escape Lounge charges for premium cocktails. (I didn't want a cocktail, and I may be wrong--but I don't think that the Centurion Lounge charges for cocktails...) The Escape Lounge wasn't bad--but I would expect better customer service from the Centurion Lounge as a Centurion member, and I think that if the Centurion Lounge is trying to suggest the Escape Lounge as an option, they should truthfully present what the Escape Lounge entails. Compared with my home lounge (SFO) this lounge is on par. It's brand spanking new so the furniture is still in good condition and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would say the bites and drinks at SFO are a little more versatile and I like the aesthetics a little more but it's still a very nice lounge and it's nice to have another one to visit. A port in the storm of travel I always call them! For breaky I have a mimosa (good quality champagne) with flapjacks that were yummy! My husband had a Bloody Mary and they had good quality vodka options: Tito's, Grey Goose ect. No 'well' at this lounge read more

Very glad that this lounge was here for my long Phoenix layovers from my recent trip. Very pleased at how friendly the staff were, and the great condition the food buffet was kept in. Pam met us, nicely, ask for my Platinum card, so I gave her my card, then she asked if we have second card, my wife has a card, but didn't bring it with her, Pam was trying so hard on computer for about 10 min, asking my home address, I thought next question gonna be " what is your SSN? This lounge is spacious and clean since it is relatively new. Bar area and hot bar are very comfortable. I have seen spaces that are more luxurious but this hits the spot when waiting for a flight. Downside is the distance from the gates with the most traffic. It is across from B22 in terminal four so allow time for transit between gates. Love these lounges! A great Amex perk!!!!!! read more
