$18 Old Fashion how it was delivered from the bar (no drinks yet)
    Bob M.

Food and outdoor setting were nice, but service was comically bad. Took 3 hours from seating to paying our bill, of which about 30 minutes was spent actually eating. The rest of the time we were negotiating with our waitress trying to order drinks, get water, order food, get food, get bill, pay bill, etc. Each of these activities, for whatever reasons, seemed difficult and confusing. For example it took 35 minutes to get cocktails and we had to ask if we could actually order drinks. When they came, my $18 Old Fashion barely had an ounce of liquid (see attached pic). The food was very good ... but unfortunately the experience was just too frustrating for such an expensive place. We won't be going back.

Just an excellent experience on our first dining at this unique location in the South Valley. A picturesque setting with intimate dining. Every item was well and thoughtfully presented, from the rich artichoke soufflé through their signature salad, to perfectly executed seafood. Of note: their Brazilian Seafood Stew is flavorful and well stocked with halibut and shrimp. Dessert options were slightly limited, but their brûlée was a very good cap to the meal. Good beverage options...and the service was excellent. The restored pioneer home offers a great indoor dining experience in winter months, and the setup ensured that the overall noise level is quite mild. An excellent fine dining option for the area. Visit their website...there is a dress code, as well as structured costs for groups of six or more.

Absolutely loved!! Our server was Justin and he was excellent for our group of nine. Absolutely loved the ceviche appetizer--we ended up ordering two! I ate my entire dish of the Thai Halibut. I'd order it again w/o any hesitation. Others on our table had clean plates as well. The food was all fantastic!!! I also had the Charleston Salad and loved that, too!!!

I found this charming restaurant on social media-a friend had posted pictures, and it looked amazing. But when I first discovered it, we were in the dead of winter. So I bookmarked it to come back and visit when the weather was nicer-I wanted to take advantage of the outdoor seating. The day of our reservation arrived and, as luck would have it, there was rain. Boo! We were moved inside, which I don't fault the restaurant for. The ambience is slightly upscale, with tables very close to one another. They do their best with the physical constraints-there's only so much you can do with an old restored house. We ate at noon on a Sunday-and were hoping for lunch food, but learned that it was the brunch menu. The items that we ordered were good-everything was carefully plated and presented in a beautiful way. Others have mentioned the high price point for bottled soda. Our server told us that they were changing machines and the bottles were temporary. The pomegranate mojito was delicious and very fruity. I'm looking forward to returning when the weather cooperates so I can sit outside...and in the evening so we can try the dinner menu.

Came here a few years ago and it was amazing. Decided to go last night. What a waste of money. Highly disappointed! Had reservations at 8:30. That was about the only thing on point last night. Ordered drinks. Took foreeeevvver. Appetizer. Escargot stuffed mushrooms. Terrible! No flavor. Literally a snail on a mushroom with cheese sprinkled on top. Cheese was not even melted. Came out cold as if it was in the fridge two second prior. Had to send back. Still not good hot. Flavorless. Come on! For this place to be fine dining, and how expensive it is, you are treated like you are eating at your local village inn. I'm not sure you even know what fine dining is at this place. A real fine dining place knows when to clean your table after appetizers and before dinner. After our appetizer, food was spilled on the table. Waitress just acted like she didn't notice. We waited over an hour for our slop. Fish stew. This was okay, but honestly tasted like it was heated up. And the chicken dish as well. These both must have been popped in the microwave. I literally should have eaten at the local village inn. It would have been better and cheaper. Not sure who you have cooking back there, but it's definitely not a chef. We had 2 meals, 1 appetizer, 4 Tito shots and 2 cocktails. $200 later for cold appetizer, and a crappy meal. After we waited an hour for our food, we literally almost just cashed out and left. But then our meals miraculously appeared. Honestly, the only good thing about my terrible dinner experience, was the piano player. She was awesome! Service was a 7 out of 10. Okay. Not the best. This place needs a new chef, new menu, and lower prices. This definitely was not an amazing 200$ meal. Pretty mad at myself today for spending that!

This place has beautiful architecture and a charming look from the outside, which is why I chose to stop by one night. I had read reviews about the owner being rude, so I made sure I fit the dress code and was extra nice, and the owner was delightful. The music playing, however, was very... interesting. A lot of power love ballads, so be prepared for that. I got the porterhouse special with a caviar baked potato, and I was not as stellar as I had hoped, and was cooked well when I asked for medium. The servers were delightful and playful and attentive to our needs, and I'm sure I could have sent the steak back, but that's never been my style. My date had the lobster Mac and cheese which was also just ok. I have made both at home and felt that I could do it as good, which is the opposite point of going out to eat. Where this place really shined food wise was in the desserts. I would go back several times for just the desserts alone. We had the crisp and the bread pudding, which were both amazing! Overall, I'm glad we went and would go back again to have a sweet treat any time!

So excited to try this place for breakfast. Besides the host not knowing what was going on guessing it was his first day when we arrived. Then we asked to sit inside since it was a bit chilly outside at 10am. He went in and said "The chef said no open toe shows and need formal attire". I was in a polo shirt and nice levis, my guest was in a nice blouse, dress pants and open toed sandals. Maybe we needed a tuxedo and my guest needed to wear a formal dress for brunch? Even Grand America doesn't require that for brunch. Server didn't seem to know what was on the menu, he went on to mention a few specials that I wanted to see all ingredients on the menu and couldn't seem to find them. Asked him "do we need a different menu?" He came back and apologized that the menu had changed. Doh! Other than being disrespected at the beginning for not be formally dressed, and having a server that had no clue on what was being served the food was outstanding. Amazing tasting breakfast! For sure will be back, not sure if we will be in formal attire though....

The grounds are stunning, and the peacocks wandering around added such a charming, unexpected touch. But what truly made the night was our service team: Troy, Elizabeth, Zane, and Kingston. The cocktails were fantastic, and the wine from their own vineyard was a genuinely lovely surprise, you can tell there's real craft behind it. I'll say this: no restaurant can save a marriage, but if any place could get close, it's this one. La Caille gave us an evening we won't forget. Highly recommend.

I had done my research ahead of time otherwise it wasn't clear that there is no self parking options-only valet parking. The grounds and property are beautiful and we enjoyed some photos ahead of brunch. Our group was seated in a semi-private room and the service was impeccable. However - the food... was sadly lackluster and overpriced. I had the chateau breakfast for $39 which included eggs to order, ham (my protein choice), breakfast potatoes and a small slice of crème brûlée French toast. The highlight for me was the potatoes. The ham super dry, the eggs undercooked(I ordered over medium and they were like a sunny side up consistency), and the French toast felt like eating sand without much flavor. Thankfully the "complimentary" croissants were delicious and fresh. Aside from the company I was with, the ambiance and service - I do not recommend nor would I return.

Our server was great and hostess and valet were also great . That's what gave this experience the stars is the staff ... While the food was good quality and actually cooked by chefs and not just assembled from a Sysco truck, I was very underwhelmed because of the temperature of the food. I'm usually not the one in our family who cares most about this but with the "elevated dining" I expected more ... like warm food! It doesn't have to be hot but everything fireside was at best room-temperature. Then the dessert fondue was too runny and never formed a layer over what I was attempting to coat. Because of this I really debated between only two stars over three stars, but as I said the food is high quality and the presentation is cool, but the execution is majorly lacking. Especially with what is expected of Deer Valley and an elevated experience for $$$$. Also, there isn't a dress code, which is fine. Except one woman was dress in her ski underclothes and her Moonboots and that's it. I mean, clothes should be expected, not one step up from PJs or sweats. And I do understand this is a family restaurant, I have kids. Kids can go to the buffet alone and behave like they're in a restaurant, but kids were playing tag and running around and hanging off people's tables that weren't their parents; I know the restaurant can't control kids, but a manager should be able to inform people of this disturbance. Or maybe it should be deemed as family dining and not an elevated experience because of elevated I'd expect to enjoy the time without someone else's kids checking out what's on my plate. The ClifsNotes: Elevated experiences should have warm food, people in clothing, and behaved/monitored kids.
