My boyfriend and I love Cheese Course sandwiches and frequent here often. Today will be the last time. It's funny because while we were in the store I wondered why it was so empty. The story: My boyfriend and I ordered two large sandwiches to go. After being greeted by a not so pleasant cashier that we have encountered before and waiting fifteen minutes (despite the store being empty) for our food, I noticed we received no side. The menu sign clearly states that large sandwiches come with a side. When I asked the cashier, he stated because my meal was to go, we could not receive a side of chips (mind you I just paid $25 for two sandwiches). Good customer service at that moment would have just been to smile and state he can offer some chips in a bag for us, because clearly we ordered two large sandwiches and the menu states we receive a side. He did not however, and was rude and told us we can't have a side because our order is to-go. I asked him if I could then have my meal here because I enjoyed my side of chips with my sandwich. He then proceeded to tell me I owed him $1.50 because I stated it was to go originally. I was shocked. My boyfriend and I declined this and left. The absurdity of this whole encounter left me speechless. If you own a business the sole most important thing is the face of your business. This is why despite how much I enjoy the food of Cheese Course, I will not return back here. This is also why this business is empty. read more

I have been here many times and went for dinner on 10/4/17. The boy behind the register was extremely cold and rude. He was the most unhelpful person I've ever encountered. I used to love coming here because it's casual and they have a good wine and cheese selection, but after having many good experiences here and THEN having this kid treat us like dirt...I will never return. The friend I invited was shocked and I had to beg her from getting up and leaving. There are many other restaurants in this shopping center to choose from with better food and nicer staff. read more

One of the greatest lunch spots around. This incredible restaurant has a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and cheese platters. My favourite item on the menu is the Prosciutto Mozzarella sandwich. The portion size is big enough if you are starved and if not, amazing leftovers. You order your food inside and receive a table number with a cute description of a type of cheese. There is waiter service which is always quick. While I wait for my order, I go by the cheese platter and test out their cheese of the day which never seems to disappoint. I first began going to the Cheese Course in Weston, until they opened this location which is extremely convenient. I have eaten here several times and the quality and service are always top notch. On my most recent visit, about a week ago, I had the applewood smoked bacon sandwich with melted goat gouda, tomatoes, spring mix lettuce, and aioli. It was amazing. This WAS one of my favorite places when it opened. The food is still good but the service is lacking. I ate there tonight and ordered a cheese platter, glass of wine and a fountain beverage. The ice was empty. When I asked about getting some I was told the machine only works sometime and I could go to a restaurant next door and asked for some of I wanted. There were 2 people inside and 6 outside , all of whom had been served. There were several people working not sure why someone didn't go buy a bag of ice or two. I also ate there with friends last week and the young girl working didn't understand about the need for an ice bucket for a bottle of white wine. We also had to ask for plates and silverware.... We came to check out the cheese course to enjoy a supposed happy hour promotion which seemed so foreign to the staff - meanwhile it is quite apparently printed on the menu! With our first order which was a bottle of wine, we were given glasses which must have just come out of the washer, easily over 100 degrees - ideal if you enjoy a nice cup of wine soup. Due to the lack of staff the tables were not sufficiently bussed/cleared to allow for not an excessive amount of turnover. For an establishment that uses hot fudge sunday glassware in lieu of wine glasses (understandable to mitigate glass breakage) the owners might want to consider a trash/bussing station that is accessible to the patrons. A similar set up similar to that of Panera could work. What made the experience ultimately negative was how one of the member's of our group was thoughtful enough to order some food for the group (2 cheese platters and a sandwich) which never made it to the table. After the 1st bottle of wine which was consumed in roughly 30 minutes we inquired with the staff as to the status of our food order. We received an inappropriate stressed response from one of the staff members "there is only one of us back here", though they did have what seemed to be 3/4 staff members working. Ok, so we order a second bottle of wine which amounted to over and hour the food order had still not made it out. The slowest place I've ever been to, overall the staff was uneducated to the items available for purchase. Not likely to visit the cheese course ever again, I'd prefer to pick up a bottle at Total Wine and some appetizer type items and enjoy them at a more intimate scenic location. read more

This seemed like a nice place, we ordered a bottle of wine and 2 cheese plates. After finishing a second bottle (40 minutes) I got concerned about my order of cheese that had never arrived. when I went to the counter to check on it they yelled at me "THERE IS ONLY ONE GUYS BACK HERE GIVE US A BREAK" so i appologized and sat back down. Then another 30 minutes go by before the same rude employee aproached my table with a piece of paper to try and take my order becuase they had lost it and were going to "prepare it for me now" after it had been over an hour for some slices of cheese. This is when I lost my cool and demanded my refund. They were so unporfessional and rude about the situation I will never go back here and I discourage anyone else from going. STAY AWAY! read more

I'm happy to say, I LOVE the Cheese Course!! I had previously left a not so savory review of a past experience and I am NOW changing my tune! After the review I left, I was contact by the manager who was genuinely concerned about some issues I highlighted in my review. He asked if I would come back if he offered my a $20 gift certificate. I was reluctant to accept but, that Chicken salad calls to me!! I waited a few months before actually heading in but, I am so pleasantly surprised that they have really stepped up their game! I have been in several times over that past 2 months and each time has been a delight! The NEW staff is much more attentive and the energy in the whole placed has shifted to a much more positive vibe! I'll be back again and again! This location is really cramped and you definitely feel that when you order. The counter and register are in the far back left side with the menu facing the cashier so you have to turn around to pick something. The food is good and the cheese selection is great too. read more

Usually a favorite place to eat. Today went in and while waiting to order noticed that both blocks of pate had moldy fungus on them. We told the girl at the counter and she said she would clean it. Not sure what that means, but won't be eating here anytime soon. Update: so I started eating there again for about a month with no other issues. Then today 11/25/16 went in and the pate in the front case was moldy again. If that is what is visible at the register I can't imagine what is going on in the kitchen. Never again. read more

VERY. BAD. EXPERIENCE. Up front, I love the location in Weston. Just came home from a business trip and my wife (who doesn't care for cheese) offered me the opportunity to enjoy a visit to one of my favorite restaurants (never been to this location before) .... BAD CHOICE!!! Friday night, 9:06pm, we walked into the place to a generally empty restaurant with one of the most unpleasant "young ladies" (never did learn her name) I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to meet. We asked if they were still open and she stoically replied they were open until 10pm (so, an hour, right???). We went to sit outside to order and the same "young lady" informed us we had to order at the counter ... so we did. Much to our dismay, the same "young lady" moved behind the register to take our order. My wife ordered a 1/2 French Greens salad and a drink and asked what dressing comes with the salad; the "young lady" informed us it comes with vinaigrette dressing (more on this to follow). OK ... my turn to order. My favorite, "Build your own cheese board." I make my three requests (the menu states each cheese at a price with "accompaniment" and grapes ...) and ask how many accompaniments I receive ... "One." "So, let me get this straight, I order three cheeses and get just one side??" Young Lady: "Yes!" Me: But if I order three cheeses separately, I get three sides??" Her: "Yeah." Just cancel my order. Mind you, as this is going on, another employee is standing next to the "young lady" fielding a telephone call with a complaint about another order (OK, now at least two disgruntled customers tonight). At this point my wife is questioning her order ("well, if you're not going to eat, then this isn't really my place .... can I just cancel my order, as well??") but "young lady" has disappeared to run my credit card ... too late!!! So, we decided to go outside and enjoy a quiet evening without the kids and just talk over her dinner. Well, we get out there and hear another couple complain about the same "young lady" and lack of service and competence. They swore by the locations in mid-town and Doral ... again, terrible experience on University. As we commiserate together for a while, "young lady" comes outside with a paper bag and literally (yes, LITERALLY) tosses the bag on our table and says "it was a to-go order." When I inform the "young lady" we did not place a "to-go" order, she informed me I did, that was why she asked my name. We get home and my wife enjoys a nice salad with mixed greens and goat cheese (as she ordered) and some thick cream mustard sauce ... remember the point of asking about dressing ...vinaigrette ... nope, some kind of mustard dipping sauce?? She did say the salad was good (we used our own vinaigrette dressing). So, to sum it up, terrible, rude, incompetent service (I'm sure a new Army recruit receives more friendly service the first day of boot-camp), an hour before closing, cannot order to eat at the restaurant, and they either don't know their menu or can't get it right. Three very upset customers at the same place, same time ... I can't say our case was special. Will NOT ever choose this location, again (unless someone can convince me things have changed). Only been here once and not by choice. Up until this visit, I've never heard of such a place. I've had a hectic delivery fiasco with UberEATS from this place and I hope it doesn't cost me my use of the service, nor do I want anyone there getting into trouble. I was given a wrong order from the get go. The ticket on the bag wasn't legible because the ink had faded away. I also felt the contents of the bag handed to me, and the order was for two of their subs, and a side of soup, like the correct order I was supposed to grab had. It's an easy error to make, but still a doozy. This also happened right at closing time. I kept the client cool and explained my side of the story to her. I had to punch it all the way back to the restaurant as they were about to close. Mind you, I took a wrong turn on State Road 84 and got confused on how to get back there with the ever so terrible accuracy of Ubers GPS system. Lo and behold, they stayed open and waited for me. They could've told me tough s**t and locked up, but they didn't. They apologized for the mistake, gave me the right order and informed me the other Uber driver had to cancel the order I took on accident. They let me keep one of the subs. A prosciutto sub with pesto and fresh mozzarella. It was to die for! Very tasty and light, considering it's a sub. Not too filling and the flavors all complimented each other wonderfully. The kindness, professionalism, and very delicious free sandwich earn this place a high rating from me in only one visit. Only when I try it out a few more times to see other menu items and see how consistently good they are, will they be able to earn 5 stars. That also leaves me to wonder, how pricey are they? Well my day of shopping came to a screeching halt when I saw the name of the restaurant, The Cheese Course. As you might guess cheese is my weakness. I can say I enjoyed my escapade. This place has sandwiches, salads, soups and of course, the cheese course where you can choose a generous two ounces of each cheese for $6.45 each. The quality of the cheese did not disappoint. This is served with a French baguette and fresh grapes you can add a meat for $5.95 and an accompaniment such as honey, fruit chutney, olives etc. for a $1.00 each. Pair it with a wine for $5.99. The shop is on a corner with lots of window light and you can choose to sit outside too. A couple of things I would change is serve the bread warm, even though it was fresh. Automatically offer butter and change the wine glasses which was more like a water goblet. One orders at the counter then the meals are delivered to your table. Meh. Tried their Asiago and fontina grilled cheese sandwich. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't worth the price. Very small sandwich that looked and tasted like something I could make at home. Not impressed. And the wait for the sandwich was over 15 minutes which considering the size, didn't make sense. However every single time I go to this one in particular I feel out of place and if I were lesser of a human being then the cashier or supervisor or manager. Everyone that works there is so rude. If it wasn't for the prosciutto sandwich and the fact that there is no other cheese course close by to my school I wouldn't go back. The service sucks. But if you don't mind the staff being rude to you or giving you dirty looks while you're trying to enjoy your yummy cheese sandwich then by all means go... because the cheese is good. Because of the limited places in my area, I find myself going back here for a nice sandwich and cappuccino in a quaint, quiet setting. The central location is good, parking easy,ambiance relaxing, the food: consistent, simple, clean and tasty with average pricing. The staff of the other hand, are rude, dismissive young people who just don't have any service skills or care. The owner may want to look into hiring staff who have hospitality background, pay them a little more, keep guest coming back and grow the business. I just had a terrible experience at the Cheese Course in the Fountains. I went in to get 2 sandwiches to go. I ordered with the very young and inexperienced boy at the register, gave him my name and sat down to wait. He came out with a bag a little later and I left. I had to go to work, so my husband and I couldn't eat right away. A few hours later we finally sat down to eat and realized we got the wrong sandwiches and the receipt said uber. I ordered chicken and received deli meat turkey instead. I called and I spoke to Solomon Sanchez. He said there was a mix up and my sandwiches were there waiting. I said ok and had to drive 15 minutes to go get them. When I arrived I received no apology and not on the phone either. Mr. Sanchez demanded the wrong sandwiches back and i explained i didn't bring them. He refused to give me the sandwiches I had ordered and paid for because i didn't bring back the sandwiches they gave me in error. I asked why would you want old sandwiches? You can't resell them. It was their mistake, not mine. His whole attitude was condescending and rude. He offered no apology and instead the child who had initially rang me up asked me rudely "why don't you have them, did you eat the other sandwiches?" I cannot believe what horrible service they gave. Plus my husband and I never received the correct sandwiches that we paid for. I am so upset and i will never go back there again for small overpriced food. read more

Cheese Course is such a huge addition for Plantation. The quality of the cheeses, breads and produce they use in their products is really off the charts. It is also very nice to be able to pick a bottle of wine from their retail shelves to have with a meal. All that being said, eating at the Cheese Course won't be for everyone as you order at the counter, the table space is somewhat limited and the best tables are community tables which you will share with other people--it's kind of a cross between a New York City diner and a New York City deli. However, if you are like me and consider these small inconveniences, the food is really quite outstanding. read more
