This is a long read. But maybe it'll help someone. But Cmon Cheesecake Factory. You gotta do better! First and foremost, you'll notice the trend and consistent feedback here in the reviews that having a reservation means absolutely nothing. Why bother?! CF sends out a ton of text reminders beforehand, then you get there and wait! Not just a little wait. It took us nearly 30 mins to get seated despite having a reservation. The front desk staff are absolutely useless! Snarky, grumpy, zero idea how to treat or talk to customers. They also gave our table to other people--twice!! They were arguing amongst themselves. One girl telling us we were next then another taking other families back.. Also, Just terrible attitudes. 20 mins of waiting after our reservation we dared ask for an update and her response? "you're already checked in. You don't need to ask me" Nice. Management ought to make some front of house changes ASAP. It's clearly ruining your Yelp review score! So we order for 8... 3 of the same chicken dishes are among them. Waiter comes back "sorry, there's only two of those left". So someone in our party changes their order. Waiter goes to put the order in. Comes back. "Sorry, now there's only 1 of those left." Sigh. When it does arrive, it's completely different! Waiter says "Sorry, they ran out of the type of chicken in that dish so they just substituted it and did the best they could" - uhhhhhh. So what you meant to say is they ran out of ALL remaining (3) of that dish and the kitchen just guessed after the order was in. Shoutout Jarod, our waiter. Doing the best he could with disappearing dishes and a kitchen staff who seemed to be the epitome of a shoulder shrug. The place was busy and he handled well despite possibly having too many tables assigned. Despite food not being available still in the 20 seconds our waiter went to put the order in, the food that did make it was really very good. No complaints. Portion sizes are massive, drinks are refilled. Really can't complain too much there. It's consistent CF and as expected. But yikes corporate. Boot the people up front making terrible first impressions on your guests. Honor actual reservations--that's why we make them. read more

Meh, we made a reservation at 3 o'clock and received an email confirmation of the reservation. But when we showed up at the restaurant, they said they didn't have a our reservation even when after we showed them the email that confirmed the reservation. Even if it didn't show in their system for great Customer Service, they should've said ok let us just let us get your table ready and we wouldn't have known the difference but instead we were treated poorly , even though we had the proof of the reservation. First of all, cheesecake factory has the biggest menu ever so if u can't find anything there, you are very picky! They do have lunch specials which I ended up getting the chicken piccata with angel hair pasta. I loved the lemony piccata with capers. It was really good. The only issue I had was I wish they had more sauce to add to the pasta but overall I really enjoyed it! And the service was great! read more

Chicken Gumbo is a mis-nomer, for they do not make a roux. It is not gumbo. At best, it is flavorless tomatoes and rice, with proteins added in without any seasoning. Very bland, and a disservice to the name 'gumbo'. The Louisiana chicken pasta is a better way to go. read more

I will never order from The Cheesecake Factory again. Not only was I ignored while waiting for my DoorDash order, but the restaurant has a small room tucked away in the back corner specifically for delivery drivers to wait in. Unfortunately, it felt more like a place to hide dashers than to help them. Several of us were waiting there for extended periods of time with little to no communication from staff. I ended up waiting 30 minutes just to get attention regarding my DoorDash order, and then an additional 45 minutes for the food itself. Throughout the entire process, there were no meaningful updates, apologies, or explanations for the delay. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but ignoring delivery drivers and leaving them waiting in a back room for over an hour is unacceptable. Delivery drivers' time matters too, and delays like this affect both our earnings and our customers. Very disappointing experience and extremely poor customer service. I was very impressed with this location. I've been to the Murray location and it's always hard to get into and overly crowded. The wait wasn't horribly and the service was quick. Our server gave us good recommendations. They also have a lunch menu that's cheaper and smaller portions. I ordered some pasta off the lunch menu and I really enjoyed it. First off, I understand mistakes happen. Not a big deal normally and it usually gets taken care of quickly and easily....unless its Cheesecake Factory! Ordered a bunch of cheesecakes online but one was missing from the order. I called that night and talked to a Maicy who was at the cheesecake station and she said she would tell a manager who would then credit it back. Refund never happened. Called a week later and talked to a manager named Quincy who said they didn't have a report on it that but she would take care of it. Said it would take 7-10 days for corporate to approve it. Never saw the refund. Called again on the 10th day and was again transferred to Quincy who said it has been approved by corporate but probably won't clear for another 10 days because corporate had been out of office so they are backlogged on the refunds. What the heck?? I don't know why a $13 credit has to take so long and starting to wonder if this is business ploy hoping people forget after they think it has been taken care of. Not ethical. I'm glad it's only over a $13 charge but I would watch your accounts people and instead of trying to get a credit just drive back to the restaurant and have them give you what was missing instead of this whole crazy deal. It was my fiancé and I's first time at this chain restaurant. And overall, it did not live up to the hype. Maybe it's the dishes we chose or could be because of how new this establishment is. For appetizers we ordered chicken potstickers and the egg roll sampler. The pot stickers were room temperature and had a unique flavor that we couldn't decide if we liked. The egg roll sampler was good and we do recommend. My entree...I honestly should have asked our waitress to take it back. The steak was tough and the tortillas rubbery. Both the black beans and rice had NO flavor. (Yes I know it's rice but, I was expecting cilantro lime. Menu nor waitress specified.) Three stars instead of 2 because our cheesecake dessert was actually the best thing we had and would go back for just that. read more

It was my granddaughters birthday. We were excited to celebrate with her, she picked cheesecake factory in Orem to have dinner on Sunday with the family. We called ahead and the hostess said the best time to come is 4 o'clock. They could most likely seat all 10 of us quickly. So we decided we would all meet at 4 o'clock. As I got there at 3:40, I checked in with the hostess she seemed irritated. There were 10 of us. She said it would be a while before they could even seat us. She suggested maybe we eat outside on the patio, today was in the high 90s and I did not want to sit on the patio. I told her we would wait for a table. (They didn't look busy and had a lot of empty tables) She seemed irritated, I did not want to be on the patio, so she told me she could have us seated by 4:30 and to let her know when the whole party arrived. I went in at 4:05 and tell them our whole party was here, the other lady which I thought maybe was a manager was quite rude and said we were quoted 30 min. that we wouldn't be seated until 430 and we would just have to wait. I let her know that I was there at 3:40 and it was quoted we would be sat no later than 430 and to let her know when our whole party was there. We did not get seated until about 4:40! I would've left, but my granddaughter wanted to eat there for her birthday so we stayed! Our server was fantastic, very tentative and made our granddaughter feel special on her birthday! Our check came to almost $250.00 the food was amazing and again the waiter was fabulous. Our visit started out awful but the waiter turned it around! I love the Cheesecake Factory and I'm glad there's one by however it was a big disappointment. Hostess was not very good at communicating with us and wouldn't look at us when talking so it was a bit confusing especially when it's so loud. Waitress was friendly but did not tend to us very often especially with water refills. Took over 20 mins for bread to be served and it wasn't warm and tasted stale. Food was mediocre, ordered pineapple chicken and shrimp. It lacked sauce and shrimp, it was mainly an undercooked rice dish with a side of microwaved meat. I was also served the wrong cheesecake but didn't feel like waiting another 20+ mins. Not really worth it. Might as well drive to SLC. read more

I am an avid Cheesecake Factory goer.... Every time I go to the one in Orem, it's a terrible experience. Almost all waiters I've had have given bad service. Every single time we wait at least 20 minutes before someone even comes by to tell us to wait a little longer. And then they leave again. I only got one refill the entire hour and a half I was there which was bad too. I even had a situation where managers were talked to because the waiter was so bad. During this visit, the waitress forgot to put in our order for an appetizer but never even came back until we were done eating our main course so she didn't really check on us to realize that we didn't get our appetizer. Like all of the other bad reviews for this location, service is terrible and slow. The food is good, but that's all cheesecake factories. I will still eat here... BUT, I was VERY disappointed with my "free" birthday cheesecake. Basically, B1G1. For a $10 SLICE of cheesecake, it would have been nice for the strawberries to be fresh. Even my 9 year old noticed something was off. I knew the second I cut into the strawberry, that it was old and past its prime. Only because we asked, then asked to speak to a manager, did they finally seat us after 1 hour 8 min. They don't seat in order of you showing up, but seat even numbers first leaving us 3 top, waiting. So they were maximizing thie revenue and making us wait. And all they offered was a free dessert. I've noticed in recent years that the menu at The Cheesecake Factory (all locations) has diminished and is definitely not like it used to be. My experience this past weekend hardened my resolve to not go back. At the new(er) Orem, UT location, we arrived about 5 PM on Saturday evening. We took one of the high tables in the bar area to avoid a (really, a pretty reasonable) 20 minute wait for a booth. The waiter was really great, but the entire operation was understaffed for a Saturday evening. It took abnormally long to get drinks, bread, etc. Appetizer was brought out AFTER entrees. But that's not the worst. We ordered the chicken green chile enchiladas - which I have ordered MANY times before. In the old days, it came with rice and beans, AND a delicious scoop of sweet cornbread, which, in many ways, was the highlight. It's been some years since the cornbread has been removed, to my dismay. My wife and I shared the plate. She had one enchilada and I had the other two. The presentation and flavor were just sub-par in every way this time. The chicken was dry, no sauce on the enchiladas, very bland, and so tough I had to cut them with a knife. The rice was dry and bland as well. It gets worse. About 9 hours later (2 AM-ish) my wife and I were both up with upset stomachs. About a half an hour later I started vomiting uncontrollably. The other guests that we took there had other dishes and did not get sick. The ONLY thing that my wife and I BOTH ate that day, in common, was that plate. Won't be going back. This chain has gone downhill in recent years, and there was something wrong with food prep/sanitation at this location this past weekend. read more

Was delivered my kids salads (that they've eaten dozens of times) and the chef mistakenly put HOT SAUCE on the salad instead of the BBQ sauce my son had an allergic reaction I brought the food back and the general manager and chef argued with me and said that the sauce just had "paprika" and refused to admit their mistake. Absolutely Horrible Experience - Never Again If I could give zero stars, I would. This was by far the WORST dining experience I've ever had. We came in as a party of 10 and were prepared to have a great night. Instead, we were met with a level of incompetence and disrespect I wouldn't wish on anyone. To start, it took FORTY minutes just to get water. Not drinks, not appetizers - just WATER. And from there, things went downhill fast. We waited over TWO HOURS for our food to arrive, only for it to show up cold and poorly prepared. Out of 10 meals, SIX had serious issues - wrong items, undercooked food, and missing ingredients. To top it all off, one person in our group NEVER received their food at all. Not late - just never showed up. When we tried to address this with the wait staff, we were met with attitude, eye rolls, and flat-out rudeness. And don't even get me started on the manager. Instead of apologizing or offering any kind of solution, they were dismissive and borderline hostile. It felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there. We spent hours at this restaurant and left hungry, frustrated, and furious. There was no accountability, no compensation offered, and no basic human decency. DO NOT waste your time or money here. We've eaten many times at Cheesecake Factories in different locations and have always enjoyed our meals. The restaurant in Orem was not good - we were so disappointed! The red headed hostess was extremely rude to us - she really shouldn't be the first person to greet people. The only good things was our waiter. He did a good job and was very efficient. The Oriental Chicken Salad was the worst I've ever had - the lettuce was old and very soggy. The dressing did not taste like the dressing on previous salads - it really didn't have any taste, just soggy! The Chicken Madara was not good - the sauce tasted burnt. The appetizers were not good either. There were 4 of us and none of us thought our food was good. We don't mind spending nearly $200 on food that is delicious or even good but sure regret this experience! read more

We came by to try the brunch and what a disappointment it was. I had high hopes that we would have another great breakfast spot on the weekends, but boy were we disappointed and will NEVER come back. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my wife ordered the same but the avocado version. My sister also came along with us and she ordered the breakfast dish with pancake, eggs and bacon. My wife and I received our dishes but they were stone cold. When we brought it up to the waitress she was very sorry and had the kitchen cook again. When the manager came by, they had to make sure to tell us that the hollandaise sauce is only room temperature but we assured her that the entire dish and the eggs were cold throughout. She also seemed annoyed of us. My sister received scrambled eggs, but asked for over medium, so the waitress also apologized and asked that they cook new eggs. My sister receives her eggs but now they are sunny side up, with runny white. She asks again to make over medium eggs, which the waitress took it back. My wife and I finally received the replacement Benedict's, but this time the hollandaise sauce was thick and disgusting. I put the sauce over mine and it immediately turned to liquid and seemed to only look like butter. My wife's tasted like they added buffalo sauce and was absolutely disgusting. The muffins were thin and hard as a rock. My sister now receives correctly cooked eggs, but now we have EGG SHELLS sitting on the top of the egg. This was one of the worst experiences we have had at any restaurant and the quality of the meals were sub par. We could have easily went to Dennys for far better quality. I would be ashamed if I were the manager and the manager we had was very off put that we complained and let alone didn't really want to do anything for us, but they eventually took our Benedict's off the bill and gave some credit to my sister. Again, we will never come back to this location, or may only come back for lunch/dinner. But Tru Religion is far superior for breakfast around this area and would not recommend this place for any type of brunch. read more

So thrilled to see this open. And bitterly disappointed that they don't have their famous Topical Tea as part of their menu. Per our awesome waiter (Abby), the GM says they are testing if their guest would prefer sweet tea over tropical tea...such a bummer...why don't they test it by offering both!?!? This is why the rating is a 3. Food was typically delicious but my pasta had a missing ingredient that they were out of. Unfortunately the waitress has not been informed to let me know, as I would have chosen a different plate if I had know. Also, if you are not familiar with Utah County liquor laws, make sure you bring your ID (no matter how old you are) in order to sit at the bar or in the bar area. SKIP IT. Go to the Murray location. Long time fan of the CCF. Have lived all over the US & are well used to the long wait times due to no reservation policy (which, let's admit, is a business model flaw). Neverthe less we go & love it. This location is awful. Truly sets new records for SLOW and full of entitled pick me customers who seek special treatment & are loud & pushy. We walked around the mall and headed back around the time we were told our number would be called as is our custom... they were 30 min behind. we watched a couple approach & get shuffled ahead but when we followed suit were told that was impossible. It was so loud w/ pushy ppl that we retreated to the corner behind the bar & pretty soon people followed us. We went on their opening day and I understand that being new the FOOD and their staff are learning but their meals were nothing to brag about, everything was cold and the ambiance was not set for an opening day. I think that they're getting better but I know from a good source that they're started understaffed and I can really tell by the quality of their meals. Maybe I'll give it a try in the future.
