Every time I come here for dinner, I truly enjoy the food. The pastas, steaks, and calamari are always delicious. My favorite dish, however, is the arugula salad with avocado and beets. This is not a complaint, just a friendly observation. I've noticed that each time I visit, the salad seems to have a little less arugula than before. Other than that, everything is excellent. I don't usually write bad reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience from our visit to The Cheesecake Factory today. It was my dad's first time there, it wasn't super busy and we went in on a Sunday around 1 PM.We got seated almost immediately, which was a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious and came out quickly, so I have to give credit where it's due. However, our experience was marred by some mishaps with our order due to our server. She was friendly, but unfortunately, she had multiple mix-ups that made our meal a bit frustrating. 1. My dad can't eat tomatoes due to his health condition, so I specifically asked her to put the marinara sauce on the side of the "Fried Mac & Cheese Balls." Instead, the sauce came out underneath the balls, which just wasn't what we asked for. The dish had to be sent back and we had to request the sauce on the side again. 2. I also asked for a small to-go sauce container, and while she said she'd bring it back, it completely slipped her mind and she never came back with it until we asked for the check towards the end and I had to remind her again. 3. Lastly, we ordered the raspberry white chocolate cheesecake to go and I was very clear about not wanting whipped cream. But, guess what? It came with DOUBLE the whipped cream! As a business owner myself, I know that good customer service is crucial, and these mistakes reflect poorly on the overall experience, regardless of how friendly the staff may be and how good the food is, I try to be understanding--everyone can have an off day--but it left me questioning whether she was genuinely having a bad day or if she was purposefully messing up our order. Maybe she thought we didn't have the means to pay, mind you we ordered quite a lot of food! Either way, these mistakes added up and really put a damper on the experience. Extremely disappointing experience. We waited over 25 minutes just to get our drinks and then waited over an hour for our food. To make matters worse, they were out of what seemed like almost every sauce we asked for.When the food finally arrived, one person's plate didn't come out until about 30 minutes after everyone else had already finished eating. One item didn't even arrive and when asked he server told us they ran out ,Two of the meals were also undercooked and dry. They literally ran out of sauce. the Luisiana Chicken which is what the birthday boy wanted The worst part of the experience was how the manager handled the situation. The manager was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and spoke to us in a completely unacceptable way. When we asked for one of the undercooked meals to be removed from the bill, the manager refused because a few bites had already been taken out of it. How are you supposed to know a meal is undercooked without taking a few bites? The entire experience was frustrating from beginning to end. Long waits, missing sauces, delayed food, undercooked meals, and terrible customer service from management. We were treated with absolutely no respect. I normally try to be understanding when restaurants are busy, although it wasn't as busy as usual but the way this situation was handled was unacceptable. We finally settled on pickle fries, Korean fried cauliflower, and crispy fried cheese. I am seeing "fried" as a common denominator here! The appetizers showed up hot and tasty, and were quite a bit, so we delayed our entree orders as we all pivoted to new options, given out sudden fullness. However, we did go for a chicken Katsu bowl, two little house salads (like a typical simple side salad, but a bit larger in size), and a chopped salad, which is my personal go-to favorite. On Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, we had the Honor of being served by Elijah, at our lunch table. What a remarkable young man, so friendly, positive, and great at his job. We asked him for menu recommendation and he recommended the Cuban sandwich to my husband so he ordered it. As a teenager in Southern California I used to listen to a radio show with Elmer Dills, "The Dining Doctor". Mr. Dills always said that the first thing he did when entering a restaurant was use the restroom. If it was a mess he'd leave; the state of the bathroom, he argued, accurately reflected the state of the kitchen. Elmer Dills would have walked out of The Cheesecake Factory. On the evening of my visit, which began on a Friday around 5:40 p.m., I entered the women's restroom to what can only be described as an enormous mess. Trash receptacles were overflowing and each restroom had toilet paper and paper towels strewn all over the floors. If I wasn't meeting a friend here - who'd suggested the place - I'd have left. When I emerged I wanted to alert someone to the state of things. Not only was there nobody manning a host/hostess station, but there was nobody to greet guests or seat guests. When my friend arrived, we made our way into the bar area and as we did, I flagged down a server to tell him of the status of the women's restroom. At our table, we had to again flag down someone to take our order. A different person subsequently became our server and things were smoother from there on. Before leaving though, I again used the women's restroom only to find that it was still an utter mess. The food and drinks that arrived at my table were fine but the service levels and restroom cleanliness here render that observation moot. I used to love going here as a kid. I was excited to come back again! However, I wish I would have read the other reviews. The food is not what it used to be. The pasta barely had any pasta, and the chicken and shrimp were a different flavor from the pasta that made it taste different from what I remember. The only relatively good food we had here was the fried mac and cheese and that was the appetizer. For the steak and frites you pay a lot and get very little. It's supposed to be a ribeye but the steak you get is minimum. They do give you a lot of fries. But I wish there was more steak to the dish. Service was pretty good even though they were packed. However depending on seating you will be listening to the yelling in the back. The place is nice inside I'll give them that and it's a chill vibe. Delays can happen, especially on a Saturday, but what was disappointing was the lack of urgency or concern from the host staff. I also tried to discreetly take care of the bill ahead of time by asking a hostess if I could give her my debit card, but I was told I'd have to give it directly to the server--completely defeating the purpose of keeping it a surprise. When we were finally seated, the table was dirty with a sticky residue, and the previous party's check was still sitting there. We had to ask for a wet rag just to clean our own table, which isn't something guests should have to do. To make matters worse, four of the items we ordered were unavailable. I understand that things can run out during busy times, but this many missing items felt excessive. By the end of the night, our bill came out to $451, which made the experience even more frustrating. For a tab that high, you would expect at least some level of customer service recovery--whether that's comping an item, offering a dessert, or even just a sincere apology. None of that happened. We had the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant tonight for my son's birthday. 1) When we arrived they did not have our reservation logged that was made last week. 2) While taking our food order we were told to come up with a back up option for the Chicken Parm because from what it sounded like they have ran out a lot in the past... so why not order more if you know you sell out?!? 3) We sat there for over 20 mins looking for someone to refill our drinks. 4) Dinner took over an hour to be served and to make it worse the food was all brought out at separate times leaving 4 people without there food, one of the entrees did not arrive until everyone else was done. 5) 2 of the boys ordered Louisiana pasta that was sooo dry so they asked for extra sauce and wouldn't you know..they were out of the sauce . 6) We asked the manager to take off the items on the bill that did not come out until we were done and to remove the Pasta dishes that lacked sauce and were dry and were told.. well it looks like they ate it. I was so angry already from wasting time driving out of town for dinner to a restaurant that is clearing lacking customer service. The chicken was rubbery and inedible. It was the absolute worst salad I've had in a long time. And for $23 that's pretty disappointing. First time eating here in Corte Madera we are new to the area in San Rafael. We usually eat in Walnut Creek and the food. They brought us an incorrect drink instead of a margarita that we ordered we got a Mojito, which I'm not a fan of the mint and we also had ordered some soda beverages which we finished and needed refilled also and at the time that she went to return the drink that we ordered and bring the correct one we had to remind her that we were still needing a refill of the soda needless to say this server was a little unexperienced or maybe it was just very busy and it was hard to keep track of the items on the table that needed it. Once I receive my dish I was not a fan of what I ordered. It was pasta dish, which seemed like the noodles were over cooked and it's very greasy so I waited for the waitress to come by to see how maybe I liked the food that was delivered. We waited A long time now for my husband's food finally arrived and I had to flag down a Manager, which stated he would re place my order my food but here we are 40 minutes plus into dinner service with a bad experience the manager offered to refund my food and give me something else at that time. I have not been her for a few years but this time it was a bummer for me except the Cheesecake ( sugar free) which was awesome!! Renee's Turkey Sandwich, which was simple but really well made -- fresh turkey, crisp veggies, and nicely toasted bread. A classic combination done right. Came with soup and a side salad. The SkinnyLicious® Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Ranch was another winner. Crispy, juicy chicken paired with cool ranch dressing made it feel indulgent even though it's on the lighter menu. And surprisingly, one of the biggest standouts was the Veggie Burger Melt. It's hearty, savory, and grilled perfectly. Even non-vegetarians at the table were impressed by how flavorful it was. Of course, we couldn't skip dessert. The Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake was rich, silky, and heavenly -- one of the best chocolate desserts on their menu.
