This was my first ever visit to Cheesecake Factory after hearing people rave about this place so much. I have to say I was very underwhelmed by both the food and the service. We had to wait 1.5 hours for a table - we decided to explore the Yorkdale mall to kill some time and when we finally got to sit, we were told they ran out of the fried mac and cheese balls which was one of their most popular item and something we really wanted to try. Anyway, our server said she didn't see any bread and will bring us some if she sees it. Kinda weird... We ordered our food and the wait time was quite long. The calamaris were really bad. No taste whatsoever, just deep fried and served. The Asian chicken nachos were okay but it barely had any chicken in it. For mains the chicken madeira was the only highlight of our meal. The chicken was tender and flavourful and the mashed potatoes were really well done (can't go wrong with that, eh?) but the spicy chipotle pasta didn't have enough sauce and it needed a good mix tbh. I come here for every birthday with my family as I love the food and the portions are huge! The wait times are usually long but to be expected as they don't take reservations and they are the only branch in Canada. Thankfully, I don't live too far and since they are located in Yorkdale mall, you can always shop or look around to make up time. I love their Fried Chicken Cobb salad and the Cajun salmon is to die for. I love the spinach and artichoke dip but wish they used another bread rather than tortilla chips. Prices are a bit higher than other places but, happy hour specials are good and have lots of food and drinks to choose from for $9-$12. Would definitely recommend! read more

Delicious food overall. Loved the crispy chicken for the Louisiana pasta, i felt the portion used to be bigger and tastier. My mom ordered the shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta which was do flavorful and delicious. For appetizers we ordered Calamari and fried Mac & cheese balls both were so delicious. For drinks we tried the frozen mango drink which didnt disappoint packed with mango flavour but a bit too thick for my liking. Cheesecake Factory is honestly one of my favourite spots of all time. There's just something about the environment and the vibes that makes it so fun. It's chill but still has that cute, slightly chic feel. The interior is beautiful in my opinion, and the dim lighting gives it such a cozy, homey vibe. I love coming here with friends and family. Now, service is definitely slow. There's almost always a long waitlist, usually anywhere from an hour to two hours because it's constantly packed. They don't take reservations either, so you can't book ahead. The one upside is that it's inside Yorkdale, so you can shop while you wait, which honestly makes the time go by faster. Once you're seated, the servers have always been kind and helpful, it's just that things move a bit slow because of how many tables each person is handling. Even on weekdays it's busy, so just keep that in mind. The menu is huge!! literally every dish imaginable and for the most part they do a great job with the flavours. My all-time favourite are the mac and cheese balls. So delicious. 10/10 every single time. This visit we also got the egg roll sampler, which comes with four different rolls: avocado, tex mex, cheeseburger spring rolls, and chicken taquitos. They were all good, and it was my first time trying this. The avocado one was my favourite and it comes with such a yummy sauce. I'd give that sampler an 8/10 just because not every single roll was my absolute favourite, but it was still good. We also got the Buffalo Blast, which I always order. The breading is so good and crispy with buffalo chicken inside, such a cool concept and always a hit for me. 9/10. There were only two of us and these appetizers were more than enough for a full meal. We didn't even finish everything and ended up taking a lot home. For what it is. It's fantastic. Cheesecake Factory seems to do chicken right. There are several fantastic chicken dishes so this time I decided to combine two of them. I ordered the chicken bellagio which is usually Crispy Coated Chicken Breast over Basil Pasta and Parmesan Cream Sauce Topped with Prosciutto and Arugula. However I substituted the Romano-crusted chicken breast from Crusted chicken Romano to make an ultra cheesy chicken dish that was frankly fantastic. Also had the cheeseburger spring rolls which were cheesy beefy good What's even better is they give you two rolls of bread with butter to start. I've been to this Cheesecake Factory many times, and honestly, it's usually a perfect 5-star experience. The food is consistent, the vibe is awesome, and I'm always happy with what I order. On this visit, I finally tried the Fried Macaroni and Cheese balls, and I was blown away by how amazingly good they were! I was actually surprised by the flavor and the crunch definitely a new favorite that I'll be ordering every time from now on. I recently visited The Cheesecake Factory just for dessert, and overall it was a mixed experience. When we entered through the mall entrance, no one greeted us at the door. We had to find the front desk ourselves, and once we got there, it was confusing. It also turns out they don't take reservations unless you have a rewards account, which was a bit inconvenient. The restaurant itself was completely packed and very loud. The music combined with how large and full the space was made it hard to hear my friends talking. It's honestly one of the biggest restaurants I've ever been to with tons of seating, but I feel like they could really benefit from some kind of wall dividers or sound-absorbing panels because the noise level was overwhelming. On the positive side, our waiter was really sweet and attentive. Even though we only went for cheesecake, they still brought complimentary bread and butter and gave us free ice water refills, which was a nice touch. The cheesecake slices were huge. One slice was so filling that we had to take leftovers home and it tasted pretty good. However, the price was shocking. My single slice came out to $18, which feels pretty expensive for just dessert. The menu overall has tons of options, but everything is pretty pricey. That said, the vibe of the restaurant is actually really nice with very 2000s Tuscan-inspired decor. It's definitely a fun time and great for groups but as noted by other diners, the wait is a really pain. Unless you go at an off-peak time, be prepared from anywhere between 45 m to 1hr wait. We came around 1:00 p.m. and it was pretty busy, but the wait time for two people was only about 15 minutes. Our server Brittany was great! Both the brown bread and white bread were very fresh, there was even steam coming out from the bread once you opened it. I wasn't a huge fan of the brown bread, it seemed like it was just pumpernickel bread with a honey and oat exterior which made it pretty sweet. one thing to note is that if you leave the bread out for a little while, it does get pretty hard and not enjoyable. I think it would have been really good to have room temperature butter with this bread but unfortunately all they had was cold butter. Still I'm glad I tried it. Since it was our first time, we decided to go all out and order a few dishes to share. We decided to get the Korean fried cauliflower and the mac and cheese ball appetizers. Then for our mains, we got the Lunch Size of the Louisiana Chicken Pasta salad and the Chinese Chicken Salad. The Korean fried cauliflower was delicious and the fried mac and cheese balls were pretty good. I also really enjoyed the Louisiana Chicken Pasta. The flavour was really good and the chicken was very crispy. The Chinese chicken salad was pretty good, it was really nice to have something fresh alongside all of the heavier items on our table, but I'm not sure that I would get that one again. The Italian sausage was flavourful but the fettuccini Alfredo was nothing special. They were both very saucy and dense which made for a sleepy afternoon. Be careful if you're lactose intolerant, the sauces we had were VERY creamy. The service was friendly enough but they rarely checked in on us. I decided to stick with what I love - the fried chicken club salad! I can't say enough good things about it. It's perfect! Even better than the last time since this order did have blue cheese on it! I love the small pieces of fried chicken, blue cheese, bacon & the hard boiled egg that is halved with mayo inside. It's my new fave as an alternative to a Cobb salad. The server offered bread to start. The bread is always great. The butter could be a bit more soft to be easily spreadable, but good nonetheless! The vibe is casual & busy! I find it strange that you need to walk into the middle of the restaurant and find the concierge desk to ask for a table. Chicken madeira 3/5 This is huge! Comes with two pieces of chicken breast, baked with cheese and mushrooms. Comes served with a pile of mashed potatoes. This was okay in terms of taste, but was comforting to eat. Chicken alfredo pasta 3/5 Can probably skip on this dish next time. It was a little bland and wasn't the best thing we ordered. Gets heavy very fast when you're eating it. We didn't end with a slice of cheesecake, since it's so heavy and we're not huge cheesecake fans, so ended the meal after our mains. Not the super casual looking location you see in Big Bang Theory - this one looks pretty fancy, as befits its location in Yorkdale mall. You can access it either directly from the parking lot outside, or the entrance inside the mall. If you access it from inside the mall, you'll have to make your way over to the reception counter that is just inside the entrance from the parking lot. My sister treated me to a birthday lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. We figured that the lower level of traffic and busy-ness were due to the fact that it was a January Sunday just after Christmas, and we were grateful. We only had to wait about 10 minutes. We didn't get the full, comfy booth for 2 I would have wished for, and we were a little crammed against the barrier at the end of the row where we were seated. The table was a little too small to handle our drinks, appetizer, and then condiments and food, but we were able to eat. For the appetizer, we had the Thai lettuce chicken wraps. The chicken was beautifully cooked and tasty. Some of the toppings were awkwardly sized and took some skill being able to handle putting it together, but everything was super fresh. For our mains, my sister had the "low cal men" chicken sandwich and salad option, and I went for the chicken and waffles. (In hindsight, I think I wish we had at least one dish that wasn't chicken, but I'll keep that in mind for a next time.) As to be expected, my sister's sandwich was pretty small, but again, the grilled meat was not at all dry. For my fried chicken pieces, this also easily fit the pattern of a juicy cook. The waffles were really nice and crunchy, while the interior was light and fluffy. They serve the maple syrup already mixed with melted butter, which I find kind of dilutes the maple taste too much while just adding fat, but I wasn't mad at it. I couldn't finish it and took half of it to take home to enjoy later, because we wanted our actual cheesecake dessert. I tried their Adam's peanut butter ripple flavour, because I'd never heard of it, and really wanted to taste what makes it any better than Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. I did want the peanut butter cup to be the star, so I think I made the right choice in avoiding the extra chocolate cake in the Reese's. I love Butterfinger as well so that was a nice difference. My sister went with a lemon flavour and really loved it. The slices almost live up to their $15+/slice tags and the whipped cream was fresh. The coffee, not so much, just your typical hotel-like brew you find anywhere else. There was a marked difference in service between the gentleman initially assigned to us, and his backup while he went on lunch. The girl who "covered" for him really didn't pay us much attention, and I was glad when he returned before we left. I'm really glad my sister brought me here to finally experience this hyped-up chain, and for the most part, it was quite enjoyable. My overall experience at the Cheesecake Factory is only ok. I've been here a few times (at the request or someone I know who used to like one of their pasta dishes) and have not been impressed. The Cheesecakes are good and come in large slices but most of the food here isn't impressive enough for me to want to deal with the wait and in efficient service. They don't take reservations so you're either eating at odd times if you go outside their peak periods, or you find yourself waiting 1 to 2 hr to get a table if you go around the common meal times. I would come here again just to have an appetizer and cheesecake. Nice crispiness on the outside, Mac and cheese on the inside, but not too heavy, and some rosé sauce underneath it. Very good. Farfalle pasta - 3.5/5 when I read the description, I was excited to try it... but it was average, honestly. Cheesecake - white chocolate raspberry cheesecake 3.5/5 - it was probably the flavour that we chose because I've had other great ones in the USA... wouldn't necessarily get again. Probably the Godiva will be my pick next time, since I've had it. Service: 5/5 - all the waitresses were so nice, especially ours. Friendly, fast, and everything you need! I'm always so confused when I come here the menu is so large. But on this day I arrived for happy hour and let's admit Cheesecake Factory is pricey. Happy hour is fabulous. The service is typical, somewhat fast. The complimentary bread is a nice touch I recommend the brown bread with lots of butter. The appetizers were so worth it! Especially the fries Mac & cheese balls, the marinara sauce was nice. I also tried the spring rolls which were also good. read more

The Cheesecake Factory is a classic. It's consistently the same experience every time I go. We were quoted a10-15 min wait which was closer to 20 min but that was okay. As always, started in on the 2 types of bread which was delicious! To drink, I love getting the Arnold Palmer because it comes with a sugar coating on the rim of the glass. Delicious! We got the Buffalo blasts to start because I've heard so much about them. They were really good!! I usually go for the Cajun pasta but was in the mood for a salad. I opted for the chopped salad but asked for white cheddar instead of the blue cheese. It was very good. For dessert I had the Reece's cheesecake. I wanted to stop eating because I was so full but it was too good to stop! The service was okay. Our server went on break at one point and the person who came over to help while they were gone was really great. Overall, it was good. Premium food & experience for a premium price. For anyone unsure what to get, I can recommend the "Chicken Madeira and Steak Diane ($37.95), which is under the Factory Combinations part of the menu. The meal comes with mashed potatoes and was welcomingly filling. Both chicken and steak were lathered with their own distinct sauces to offer variety. The chicken and steak combo was a safe bet, which was why many in my group opted to go with this dish. I wanted to try something different like the "Shrimp scampi and steak Diane"; but our server mentioned that it will only come with I think 3 shrimps, so that more than discouraged me from ordering it. We ended the meal with 2 orders of cheesecakes. Every cheesecake slice was sufficiently sweet and dense, so it will be good for sharing with the group.
