Visited chef's corner on a Sunday for brunch. Cute place but quiet. I ordered the spicy italian sausage frittata and my friend had the shrimp omlette. and since we went during brunch they offered a side of toast or a muffin. Go with the banana nut muffin, they slice it and toast it. the frittata was a little salty for my taste but still delicious and the shrimp omlette was different, the shrimp is chopped into tiny pieces and the corn adds a nice bite to it. I would come here again maybe try a sandwich and dessert next time. read more

Have eaten here three times and it's been a consistently great place to eat brunch. My wife loves the quesadilla with steak and orders it every time. All the brunch options are delicious and you can't make any mistakes when choosing. Came with the whole family and tried many of the dishes. The hot pepper sausages are an especially good choice of side. The dishes are your usual American brunch food with great twists that make them different from the usual. It's no surprise that the waiters have the words 'it's awesome' on their shirts, because..... IT IS! I have been here over ten times and have never been dissapointed. For breakfast- you can't beat it. The omelettes are delicious and come with home made jam and fresh multigrain bread (if you wish). You must try the home-made chioptle sauce on sandwhiches...mmm mmm. The service is always quick, fresh and the atmosphere is relaxed. I love this place and their original items with unique flavor. Just be aware of their hours -they are not open for dinner and hours vary on the weekend. read more

I've come here for brunch a few times and have only tried their omelettes. The omelette are delicious and the service is excellent. I especially like that in the summer they open all the doors and you feel like you're sitting outside and it's very spacious and airy. I'm taking off one star because I feel as though they can expand their menu some more. read more

There are no negatives for this place! Food is excellent I had the salmon eggs Benedict with a side of pancakes (ordered with my eyes not with my stomach) it was delicious! I came here with a couple of co workers for lunch. The place itself is not very big, but still It didn't feel crowded. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with pesto sauce, and a side of sweet fried potatoes, it also came with guac; I was not disappointed at all, all the flavors blended well together. My coworkers too enjoyed their meals, one got mac cheese with oxacan cheese and spicy green pepper puree which was pretty good, another one got grilled salmon burger and she certainly enjoyed her meal. I will give three stars because the wait staff is so kind and humble people. And also the food is delicious and very good price. However I saw something in there that terrified me. I saw one petite lady come in with hospital bracelets can barley stand up. And the "owner (an big lady who resembles miss trunchable from Matilda)" targeted this very young lady from the moment she walked in. Giving her glares. When the woman asked for something she snapped at her and chose to remind her "who's the boss" the petite woman looked like she was gonna drop dead. This is how we treat patients that come from Winthrop? This is our humanity? Maybe in the hood, but honey this is Mineola not some who're trash area. You better learn respect. My family went for Sunday brunch/breakfast. The vibe is perfect, eclectic and comfortable. Our waiter was the co-owner and she was knowledgeable and lovely. The menu is straight forward creative breakfast food with a Latin flair. The ingredients are top notch (real maple syrup, own baked muffins) and for the under 10 dollar per omelet price, it is an absolute bargain. My wife ordered the veggie omelet with egg whites, normally not my cuppa tea. But it was flavorful and creatively used corn on it for a fun twist. I ordered the Mexican omelet, very flavorful and a new breakfast first for me, Pulled chicken in an omelet. They were very kid friendly and wonderfully attentive. One negative was that it can be drafty on a cold day and I would recommend they add a vestibule (even a temporary plastic one) to reduce the draft. OMG. This is my absolute favorite restaurant. The location is amazing-I go to Hofstra so this is only 10 minutes away from me. It's very affordable, me and my boyfriend can get breakfast, coffee, and muffins for under $30 including a good tip! Everyone here has been so nice and I love how relaxed of an environment this is. Definitely try their mexican pulled chicken omelette or their sausage frittata and get the pumpkin muffin! I often meet my clients at various eateries anywhere from Midtown Manhattan to Long Island. I am so glad that remembered The Chefs Corner for yesterday's meeting. I love the open air design of the restaurant just as much as I did the food. Felt just like we were in NYC. The Eggs Benedict (which I substituted for scrambled) with lox home fries and hollendaise sauce was divine. My client ,a very successful member of Weight Watchers, had Egg,whites,Canadian Bacon,fresh spinach and 1/2 slice of whole wheat toast with points to spare. This place is amazing! MaryEllen and her partner are creative, consitant, and have great customer service skills. I have my favorites as my friends and I frequent the Corner Chef for lunch every week. Their chicken is out of this world....so tender. The wraps, salmon burger, chicken burger, salad dressings, and my favorite....Mexican Hominy Chicken soup are amazing. They also have a great brunch menu, wonderful omelletes with homemade jam and muffins or whole grain bread are favorites. We have also had them cater special luncheons in the office. I've ordered breakfast from here before and it's pretty good. The Banana Muffin is delicious! My only complaint is the delivery service.. It is absolutely horrible! I've ordered over 10 times to my apartment complex and every time the service has been terrible. The person often doesn't understand any english at all, which isn't helpful when you are trying to tell the person "I am coming downstairs". Instead, after calling me, they will walk into my building manager's office and make them call me again! Within 2 minutes! They also completely ignore the comment/note section when you order; my number was written multiple times and yet they didn't call me when they arrived. I had to find out from someone else downstairs.. -__- The food here is good, but I really wish their service away from the restaurant was a better representative of their product. read more

Came here for lunch on a weekend. The restaurant was empty besides 1 guy sitting alone. I got a turkey club, but the bread tasted kind of stale. My boyfriend got the angus stuffed burger or whatever it's called. Tasted ok. Not overpriced. So, I have to update my review on this place. The first couple of times I ate here, I was blown away. Since then, I have eaten here a few more times and have been completely disappointed. They used to make a great chicken burger on a brioche bun and they've nixed the bun and threw it on a regular roll. A hard roll. It's not appetizing. I'm just really disappointed because I thought this was my new hot spot for breakfast and lunch and sadly...I was wrong. Not terrible...but totally not amazing. read more

This place is great! We're new to the area but it looks like they just had their grand opening. Perfect for grabbing lunch or take out. So far we've tried the grilled salmon (with a vegetable orzo that had some type of pesto-like light citrus vinaigrette....really good..and the fish was cooked perfectly), chicken pot pie, and oaxacan chicken sandwich. All DELICIOUS! I'm excited to try more from the menu, especially some of their homemade desserts, and I'll definitely be bringing people here! read more

Went to Chef's corner with my parents for brunch on my birthday this past Sunday. We all enjoyed our simple, perfectly and lovingly prepared meals. We ordered the Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon, a vegetable omelet and scrambled eggs with salad. The eggs Benedict were fantastic, perfectly poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, scrumptious, not overly seasoned. The omelet was generous, soft inside and came with hearty multi grain toast. Most impressive were the absolutely fresh, vibrant salad greens...leaves of Tatsoi, mizuna and lettuces all fresh, abundant and evenly dressed with what tasted like Dijon mustard vinaigrette. The décor is simple, straightforward and clean. There are some stunning paintings of vegetables hanging on the walls, not something you typically see on restaurant walls in Nassau County. For dessert we decided to try the dulce de leche cheesecake and we were blown away. A simple round of New York style cream cheesecake with dulce de leche mixed in and drizzled over the top. The cheesecake round sat atop an oreo base crust. Dulce de leche was caramely and not crystallized at all. This dessert was delicious and not too sweet. Our waitress was really helpful and knowledgeable about the food. She even gave us a sample of the Hominy soup when I expressed my interest. I cannot say enough about how good this little gem is. Food is lovingly prepared by chefs and cooks who value fresh simple ingredients prepared well with restraint to showcase the flavor. The only criticisms I have are for the coffee, we love strong coffee and theirs was weak. And for the hash brown potatoes---some cubes of potato were a bit too al dente. Too bad they don't serve some nice fair trade Gorilla coffee. I am already thinking of friends to bring here and my Dad plans to bring his colleague for lunch. read more

Great little brunch spot in Mineola! Went this Saturday and had the spicy Italian sausage frittata, it was amazing! Try the chefs juice- it's halfway between juice and a smoothie, has guava strawberry and orange juice in it - delicious! Very reasonable prices. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is just because the place was vastly understaffed, only one poor waitress for about 10 filled tables. She did a great job considering, though.
