    Barbecue 6pc Wings

I recently checked out Cherry Pit on the east side of St. Paul after hearing rave reviews about their wings. I stopped by on a Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised to find a fun atmosphere with Vikings staff hosting raffles and giveaways--it definitely added to the vibe. I came primarily for the food, though, and ordered the walleye sandwich, six-piece wings, and a Caesar salad. The walleye sandwich was flavorful and easily my favorite part of the meal. The Caesar salad was decent, but the wings didn't live up to the hype for me. They came out extremely burnt, to the point where I had to ask the bartender to have them redone. She mentioned I should request 'less done' wings next time, which I found odd since I didn't think they'd come fried hard by default. The customer service was decent, though I didn't appreciate being pressured to close out my bill before finishing my meal--it felt rushed, especially if I'd wanted to address any issues with the food. On the pricier side for what I got, but the overall atmosphere was decent, with a laid-back, hole-in-the-wall bar vibe. Parking-wise, they do have a small free lot, though it can fill up quickly depending on how busy they are. All in all, while I appreciated the walleye and the lively environment, I probably wouldn't return specifically for the wings.

    Club sandwich and waffle fries

Food is good. There's sandwiches, burgers, and salads to choose from. We love the club sandwich and burgers. Go for the waffle fry upgrade with sour cream. Service can be a bit slow around here. It's usually pretty busy here too especially on game days. They do have great drink specials on game day.

Definitely a neighborhood spot. Came here on a Saturday night. Drinks were affordable and I thoroughly enjoyed my wings. Come here for the good music and food but don't expect five star service.

    Buffalo wrap w/ Crispy Chicken

My sister ran across an Instagram post for The Cherry Pit and wanted to check it out. We decided to go during lunch on a Friday. The did offer a few lunch special options for $6.50, which is a great price. I did not order off the lunch menu and ended up trying a Buffalo wrap with crispy chicken and fries and my sister ordered a plan ole hamburger with nothing on it. lol. My buffalo wrap was good, sauced well and filling. My sister said her burger was really good & seasoned good. I'd usually start my weekend with a nice drink (which they seemed to have decently price/cheap drinks) but I decided against it-- this one time. The bartender was also our waitress, she was very nice and checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed while we were there. She was great! They have a parking lot which is nice, because parking in this area can be a pain. I would go back to try more things on the menu.

    The patio area

The food was AMAZING! My burger was SUPER fresh and came with wings on it!!! My husband's walleye burger was delish. Our waitress Diana was super personable, gave out great recommendations and answered all of our questions. She deserves some free food! The meat comes fresh from Big Steer Meats across the street from them. They also have meat raffles on Fridays for the meat from there. The decor was done up with great Halloween decorations and the bathrooms were nice and clean. The patio area was well lit. Highly recommend if you want to try somewhere new!

Sunday fun day with lil yang was at the Cherry Pit today. Lil yang for the Sweet Barbecue Burger with toys. I got the Bacon Double Cheese Burger with fries. The sweet barbecue burger comes with a cherry pit secret sauce. Which seemed to be a sriracha mayo, not bad. I like sriracha mayo so that was nice. Lil yang said her burger was good but nothing fancy or overly special about it. I liked the Bacon cheese burger but I would have to agree it wasn't anything special. I normally really like fries but the fries were too salty and that is crazy if I say t because I usually add salt to my food. But definitely didn't here. It was a nice place, lots of Tvs and they play music. They have a nice outside patio. I'd probably come here again. Overall seems like a nice hang out spot. Just wish I had more friends to make myself a regular. Haha

    Over charged for margaritas
    De'Janell J.

I can't listen to music of my choice on the juke box being over charged for margaritas that's average 10 dollars for 15 with mostly ice, lemonade and sprite not worth 15 at all nor a tip and to mention every female worler is rude with a disgusting tone and attitude I DO NOT RECOMMEND ‼

Chicken wonton tacos app. A must have
    Danielle R.

It you stay away from Fridays apparently you're safer according to other yelp reviews. The location is less than ideal for parking but the food is pretty darn good. Had the chicken wonton tacos. They are their best seller and there's a reason why. It's a must order. The curd burger and aussie burger are equally amazing. The meat tasted fresh and is apparently bought from the local meat marker. The fries were unfortunately completely soaked through with grease and inedible. The menu says crispy, they definitely are far from that. The place was pretty packed for a weeknight but it's meat raffle Tuesday apparently. The waitress was friendly and comped $4 for the app since it came out significantly later than our meals. Our bill was also incorrect with other patrons drinks on it totalling $17 extra. Beers were forgotten about on 2/4 orders. Not a good average. Worth a try for a mean burger and apps.

We walked in for a pretty late dinner, slightly past 8PM and this place was still crowded. Ten minute wait for a table, the concierge said, but there were free seats at the bar either downstairs or up. We decided to walk down to the bowling alley (a fully functioning, retro alley might I add), and order at the bar. Nook Curds ($13.75) - It's a big basket of battered and fried cheese curds. There's bacon mixed in the batter, giving that smoky and salty, meaty element, and then drizzled honey for some very complementary sweetness. The batter is lightly crisp and the cheese curds inside are completely softened, to the point of being gooey and stretchy. Definitely no squeak here, but these were so delicious that I didn't particularly care. (5/5) Juicy Nookie Burger ($15.95) - Now that's a burger. Huge patty, completely filled with a large pocket of hot, melty, gooey, stretchy American cheese that gushes out while biting through the patty. It's decadent and rich, and that patty - charred so well, giving a robustly smoky charred flavor along with a strong natural beefiness, a result of the patty only being cooked until medium pink. Somehow even with so much cheese stuffed inside, it doesn't leak out at all. It's a pretty simple burger, with just that patty, three pickle rounds on the side, and a bun. The bun is buttered and barely toasted, just enough to give a hint of toastiness and hold up to the massive patty. It cradles the beef like a baby and sucks up all the patty juices and cheese. The burger comes with fresh homemade fries, fried heavily until dark brown, making them similar in both look and taste to my secret craving for Better Made Rainbow Chips, which has a heavily caramelized almost slightly burnt flavor. And yet somehow they aren't over fried in terms of texture. The outside isn't super crisp like commercial battered fries, instead the clear homemade nature leaves some softer areas interspersed with the crunch. The insides, of course, are still perfectly fluffy, and there are little crumbs spread out all along the bottom for an extra crunch. These fries are the height of deliciousness. (5/5) Yes, I've been missing this kind of fatty, unctuous, filling, greasy, rich food after moving away from the Midwest to Seattle. You simply can't get this kind of food anywhere in the PNW. What a great start to our week long trip! If you don't wanna wait, you can sit at the bar downstairs - or even put an order in at the bar and eat at the lanes. We ended up getting seated in the basement, which I highly recommend! The food was classic - great wings, great fries, great ranch, and awesome Jucy Lucy burgers. The ambiance here is top notch, especially in the basement. Very solid bar food, and though service is stretched a bit thin still a great experience. Bring cash for a soft serve cone after!!

You get west coast mid century modern that feels cozy and hip. The band played from 3-5 which I admit I originally thought was weird. But quickly realized why. This place was created for three reasons: good food, vibes, and family fun. You look around the room and EVERYONE is having a great time. Someone's Grandpa and grandma are having a blast on the Dance floor, kids are laughing, and everyone eating and truly having a wonderful time. The food was SO SO SO good.
