I was really hoping that how the outside of this place looked, in no way reflected the quality of the restaurant. However, we must have showed up on an off night (at least imo), because it seemed they weren't at all prepared for anyone. First impressions are important, and when your first impression of a new restaurant is that the woman serving you looks like she would rather kill you, it starts the meal off with a not so good vibe. I know I shouldn't take it personal since she was looking at everyone with this death gaze. Another thing that killed me at this place is there phone system. Not only is the phone annoyingly loud, they also never freaking pick it up. So if you're calling in an order, and you're wondering why it's been 5 minutes and still no answer, this is the reason. Also on the topic of to-go orders, be aware that the time they give you for pick up is not the actual the food is ready. I watched three people come in to pick up their food, and all three times the woman told them it would be "15 more minutes". Ok, now let's get to the food. We ordered pot stickers (always a staple when get Chinese), combination chow mein, and broccoli chicken. The pot stickers came out first, naturally. They looked and tasted good, and they definitely were served hot; however, the dough was undercooked. It made it a little hard to chew through. The combination chow mein was pretty good, and everything had good flavor except for the noodles themselves. I did love the plump shrimp; I just wish we had more of them. Last but not least is the broccoli chicken. I love the amount of broccoli they put on the plate, as well as carrots. The chicken to veggie ratio was probably about 70 percent broccoli, and 30 percent chicken. Seeing as I'm trying to eat better this was great for me. In the end there are MUCH better Chinese food places around. I'm not sure if I caught them on a bad night; however, I really don't have any desire to revisit as well. read more

First off, when they say your order will be ready in 35 minuets, and it turns into an hour, that's just wrong. Second, I got on their website to pick out what we wanted. The prices were there also. So, we picked out what we wanted and ordered it. When my husband went to get the food what was to be around $30-35 turned out to be $55!! Don't go by their website prices!! I wouldn't of taken the food if I had of gone to get it. The egg foo young was like hockey pucks and the so called pancakes for MO Shu Pork were non-edible. Two dishes ordered spicy - although I could use it kicked up a notch. All dishes were very tasty & we'll definitely put this into our take out rotation! We visited The Chinese Kitchen on a Monday evening. I was surprised at the amount of people going in & out carrying large bags of piping hot food! We ordered egg rolls, pot stickers, mushroom chicken, sweet & sour chicken and chicken chow menu. Everything was pretty darn good for a take out! The egg rolls were crispy, the pot stickers were plump and had a nice hint of ginger. Our main dishes were pleasant enough and the chow menu was a bit disappointing! It looked and tasted like pasta noodles mixed with the regular chow menu goodies. Our bill totaled $43. I believe we're going to return to try other dishes. read more

After spending a solid 18 hours attached to my bed with Nyquil seeping from my pores, I decided that I needed to feed. Chinese isn't the best choice for the sickly but at least it isn't a pizza. I was relieved that the person who picked up the telly spoke great english considering my cold made it rather difficult to speak or be spoken too. Few words came out clearly between violent sneezes. Mongolian chicken, Beef Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Orange Chicken, Eggs Rolls. Somehow the woman understood me. I felt like Sandra Bullock in Two Weeks Notice , apologizing for ordering all that food for just one person. Still, I am glad I did. The food came so quickly! The fried rice was probably my favorite because the slices of beef were so tender , I really didn't need to order a meat dish. Oh but I did, and they were all very derrrisshous indeed. The delivery man was also very polite and patient with me as I fumbled for my robe and clumsily attempted to sign the receipt. I'll make this short. I am horribly allergic to shrimp - to the point that I died a year ago from an allergic reaction. Upon ordering at Chinese Kitchen tonight, I was quite adamant on asking if the food being ordered had seafood in it. The answer was no. Not more than 10 seconds later, the party I was with said they wanted to change what was being ordered, so it was changed. I did not ask if there was shrimp in the new soup; there was no indication from the menu that the rice soup had seafood in it. After eating half a bowl of the soup, I began having hot flashes, breaking out in hives, and itching. This is the beginning of an allergic reaction. With a bit of exploration into the soup, my spoon brought out a large shrimp. A call into the store was received by, "You didn't ask specifically about that dish..." and "You're just trying to cheat me." Well sir - as a paramedic and an individual who has a severe reaction to shellfish, your horrid customer service, and more importantly, your staff's inability to utilize common sense to advise the customer that new dishes contain a death sentence inside of them is astounding. Please note that while the customer may have changed their menu item, their allergy to seafood is not selective and present only during the consumption of some dishes. Lastly, your arrogance is unbelievable. In this case, (which is not always the case) the customer is right. Had I of died secondary to your staff's negligence, the price would have been far higher than the $10.00 you attempted to give me in between blaming me for not asking about every dish that was served. To be fair - the beef and chicken dishes were really good. But this review is not about the quality of the food; this review is about your establishment's incompetence and its lack of even a hint of an apology after putting my life in danger, literally. read more

Our GO-TO PLACE FOR TAKE OUT!! and they DELIVER! well for a min charge of 17 or more. They even have coupons in the penny saver and newspaper for free egg rolls and 10 % off the entire bill. There is nothing to great about their food. Its typical chinese food for the most part. They can hold the msg and other things per order as well. The delievery sometimes takes 30 mins and you would expect for the food to be cold, but no the food is still hot and steamy! The sad part is that they dont make my favorite salt and pepper pork chops! What we normally order is 2 bbq pork fried rice, combo chow mien, broc and beef and sweet and sour pork! We recently decided to give this little place a chance after driving by it countless times; it's definitely a hole in the wall but darn it if they don't make great chinese food! This place seems to be all family run and the people there are really nice; I wanted to write a review because they definitely deserve props and I'm surprised they don't have more reviews already. We've gotten take-out several times and so far we've tried a few things. The mushu vegetables are great ( just get extra pancakes because there's a lot of filling). I love the way they do this dish because the vegetables are all of high quality and never overcooked and the plum sauce is equally good. My boyfriend has also made a habit of ordering the garlic chicken which we both really like ( I don't eat the chicken as I'm a pescatarian) but the vegetables are beautifully cut and full of flavor. We also have decided they make the best spring rolls, and they have the best spicy mustard (not watered down like some places- it's the kind that's real spicy gets ya' in the nose!) Tonight I saw some men eating when I went to pick up our usual order and noticed whatever they were eating, some kind of broccoli beef, looked irresistibly good- I think I spotted snap peas, carrots, and water-chestnuts in there.They also had yummy looking chow-mein and I was kicking myself for not ordering more. I also plan on ordering their kung-pao shrimp and maybe one of their curry dishes. FYI they have quite a few tasty sounding specials posted on the walls that aren't found in the menu. I would definitely recommend this place if you live in the area. They are our go-to chinese place now. This is the very first restaurant that my family and I really got attached to here in America back in the year 2000! We lived in the nearby apartments and this place was good and convenient. I ate here recently and the only thing that changed is the price. It used to be so cheap, which was the main reason why we went here so often. But now, it's so pricey! The food did not really change because it's still really good. As far as the actual setting of the restaurant... they could use some cleaning. The place is in a pretty old building. The walls are a bit icky so I don't recommend you sitting next to it. Perhaps order take out.... But overall, this place is great! Lets face it. This place does not look like much from the outside or the inside. Hand printed signs on the wall advertising certain menu items add to the mediocre decor. I was in a party of five. We were greeted immediately and seated. Menus were given to all. The menus were new and not sticky. I wish the menus had pictures of each entree. It would help with the selection process, but alas, a quick look on the walls showed some photos of some of the entrees. We got Orange Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, Mongolian Beef, Garlic Broccoli, Chicken Fried Rice and another chicken dish. All the food came out hot and delicious. It was just enough for the five of us. I was pleasantly surprised at the food and service. We paid less than $60 for the five of us. I'll be back to try some more delicious delights. read more

I'm not a big Chinese food fan but this place was pretty good! Vegetable fried rice was good. Vegetable chow mien was pretty good..for some reason I haven't had a chow mein I've really liked besides Panda Express lol don't judge. Orange chicken was amazing. I had low expectations to be honest but it surprised me on how good it was. Pot stickers seem like any other pot sticker so they were alright. Fried prawns were the bomb dot com! We had it delivered and the man was very nice and friendly. Delivered all the way to my house that's by the pavilion. Overall the food was good and filling. It just seemed..clean. That's the word I thought of the entire time I was eating. The orange chicken had the perfect amount of marinade/sauce so it wasn't goopy and there were no weird pieces of meat. We ordered honey walnut prawns, fried rice and pot stickers. The prawns came out first & were delicious. Very nice crunch from the batter and they we pretty large prawns. The fried rice was next but it tasted oily and didn't have many vegetables mixed in, just small amount of pork, chicken and maybe 2 prawns. The pot stickers last and were bigger than normal. The wonton wrapper felt homemade and was a bit thick and they didn't taste like they were fully cooked, the meat inside tasted mushy and still raw. The food was decent and I would order the prawns again but definitely to go because the dining area was not clean at all. The table we sat at was close to the kitchen but felt like it had a film of oil mixed with dust on it. And the smell of the restaurant wasn't pleasant, like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. You expect it to smell like chinese food especially since we were sitting so close to the kitchen...but it didn't. Definitely could use some deep cleaning in my opinion. read more

No need to order the lunch menus and have it delivered bc they don't give you the lunch they will charge you for the dinner even though you have told them several times it's off the lunch menu. Also you will not get the soup that comes with the lunch they charge you for a full order. It does not matter how many times I said no this is off the lunch. Basically I was double charged. Not high dining Chinese- it's better than average local Chinese delivery. Fairly decent. We ordered: Kung pao prawns- prawns were a nice size, moist- delicious. Vegetables were a little soggy. Beef fried rice- not greasy beef or fatty. Needs more vegetables though. Potstickers- pretty good- ask for extra sauce Sizzling rice soup- flavorless- wont order this again. We finally tried this place a few days ago and ordered for delivery. We were so impressed because they came quickly to deliver it and it was still very hot. We ordered mu shu pork, bbq pork fried rice and shrimp with asparagus in a medium spicy sauce.
