If you're a fan of all things seared and charred, you'll love this place. Whether it's pork chops or steak, I've never had one from here that wasn't cooked perfectly to order and top quality meat. They don't rely on heavy seasonings to make their dishes flavorful as they really know how to bring the natural flavor out of their chops and steaks. They also have some phenomenal sides, my favorite being the creamed spinach. Can't forget the decadent desserts, either! Assuming you have room left after your main course, you can't go wrong with any of the dessert choices. Service has always been great and the only complaint I would have is that even with a reservation, you may have a bit of a wait for a table due to the popularity of this restaurant. FINALLY got to go out and eat since the pandemic started.. and it was a scary thing despite being starved and dehydrated after undergoing a medical procedure on my spinal nerves earlier that had required me to go without food and drink since the night before. My auntie and uncle had driven me to Antioch for the procedure, and upon leaving were worried that I was going to starve to death before making it home to Shelbyville... LOL... and asked if I would like to stop somewhere get something. I told them I'd buy them lunch, their choice, as I had no idea what I wanted. After some debate, and MUCH discussion over me paying (I won!) they decided on Chop House. I hadn't been there before but they assured me the food and service was really good and they weren't kidding. They wait upon arrival was around 30-35 minutes as they were keeping capacity low and distance far apart. We and the employees were the ONLY ones with masks, though. I'm really disappointed that there are so many covidiots out there. Just because stuff "opens up" doesn't mean you stop taking precautions. Anyway, upon approaching the podium to check in, the masked employees take your temperature and get your name... then you wait the approximate half hour. Once seated, a masked server gets your order rather quickly, and you notice you are not seated close to anyone the entire length of your meal... nor are you rushed. The menu has a good selection of different priced sections, and the options are nicely varied. I was nicely pleased with the choices! They even had a crème corn brûlée of all things... and it was AWESOME. We had fried mozzarella cheese bites and marina sauce as an appetizer beforehand... they were delish!!! Could've just had those and been satisfied. I had that with my "chicken fried chicken", mashed potatoes, and white country gravy. Yummy in my tummy! Auntie had some sort of pizza that was really pretty and had all kinds of veggies on it, and Uncle had turkey and gravy with a gorgeous loaded baked potato. Some bread and butter was brought to the table; I think it was wheat. I'm not a big bread eater, so forgive me on that. There was a goof up by our adorable server Sloan... she brought me a beautiful ramekin of mac'n cheese instead of the crème corn brûlée... but fixed that immediately. Oops! I felt bad it didn't get eaten... but... oh well. Just know it looked really REALLY goodlicious! I had sweet ice tea; the only bummer as it wasn't really cold nor sweet. Ordered a coke later. It's all good, as they probably just made the tea... it WAS just as they were opening up. This happens. No biggie. The tea was still a bit hot and the ice watered it down. Everything else was EXCELLENT. Not gonna hold it against them. I'd definitely go again, despite all the covidiots without masks. If we are to defeat COVID-19, and get through all the phases of "opening up", we HAVE TO TAKE THE NECESSARY MEASURES to keep one another safe. I have cancer. I don't want to get this virus. I don't want anyone ELSE to get this virus. I would like life to be returning to a more *normal* state... but that's not going to happen unless we all work together. I had kind of mixed feelings concerning my chop house experience. The food was "OK" a little disappointing. The steaks were decent but nothing special in the flavor, tenderness or presentation. You can get a equal if not better steak at a cheaper steakhouse. If your looking for a good atmosphere and not flavor this would be a great place. But if your looking for a juicy slab of meat with tons of flavor you may want to look elsewhere based on my visit anyway. Now I do want to say the service was superb and our waiter was on point. Took my brother and parents out to celebrate new jobs and college graduation. Had a nice time however I was disappointed by the quality of my lamb chops. I ordered them medium rare and they came out medium well. Server sent them back and the next time new ones came out they were very rare. Sent them back and they came back closer to medium rare but still on the rare side. I ate them anyways as everyone else was done with their meal. My sides were excellent. I'd go back another time and be a loyal customer as long as the meat comes out as ordered the first time. I expect this of a chop house. read more

The food is tasty. But the service and the lack of communication and listening is terrible. This is my third time coming here and having and issue with my food. Whether that be the server not hearing me correctly in this terribly loud atmosphere, To getting a very dry sandwich because the kitchen didn't put the sauce on it. I called and made a reservation on Friday for a party of 8 with a high chair for 4:30 on Feb 25th. This was for my 70th birthday celbration. Everyone in my party arrived before 4:30 on time. I was told that my table should be ready in a couple of minutes. 20 minutes went by and no one told us anything. I went up to the hostess and she explainged that there was a party there and had been ther for over 2 hours. now at 5:a5 and everyone in my party getting tired of waiting i spoke with the manager. his responce was ther was nothing he could do to make the party leave and that we would just have to wait. finally at 5:30 one hour after my supposed resvervation. This is my second time at the chophouse, we started out with some cocktails at the bar then ended up getting a bottle of sliver oaks cab.For appetizers we got the ahi tuna. It was delicious and it was a big portion. I got the filet Oscar and it was suppose to be one of the most tenderest cut of meat. But to me is was not. Steak needed s little more flavor. Love this place. The one in Murfreesboro, TN is my spot. I've been many times, eaten in the bar and the restaurant and the bar my fav. The bartenders are fast, attentive and they make great martinis! Prices are reasonable. I've never had a bad steak (always order the ribeye done medium+) and it's perfect. The vibe is nice too. The bar has plenty of TVs for sports etc if that's what you're in to , however, they don't diminish the intimate atmosphere in the bar. You can't go wrong going to this Chop House!! read more

Generally Love this place, Great food and great atmosphere, but this visit left some to be desired and I blame most of this on our waitress. Apparently the bartender that was on the night of our visit didn't understand how to make a Mudslide on the rocks EVEN when we told them how to do it! After waiting more than 15 mins and two tries later, my wife gave up and ordered something else. Hint: it's only THREE INGREDIENTS, and ice cream and chocolate sauce aren't on the list!! They were able to get my drink right but the ice was melted by the time her's made it to the table. We weren't offered bread and the waitress was noticeably absent during most of the meal. We've had some great waitresses here but this woman was obviously new and badly trained. On the up side, the food was excellent as usual. As a side point, what's the sense of having a fireplace as the focal point of the room if you're not going to light it on a Friday night during dinner hour?? We're generally not "squeaky wheel" people looking for freebies, so we didn't complain too much. But management, please take note of the above for the future. read more

The Chop House dining experience was great! This place is a more smaller restaurant but very cozy. So, lets talk about the most important things... The Chop House - 1. Staff was great in regards the hostess with first impression of the place. 2. The waitress was great we had and she made sure we had all we need in regards to drinks and appetizers, etc. 3. The food was great!!! Everyone in my gamily was more than satisfied with the dishes they ordered. 4. There were no delays in getting your orders; great timely service a given. I would recommend this place for any formal or informal dining. The atmosphere is great and cozy. I will be returning with my family! There was one odd ball thing I noticed while dining here. The restaurant leaves ice water on the fireplace to replenish guests glasses quickly. I didn't care too much for that due to it looks like it could be easily tampered with... To-Go Service Is TERRIBLE!!! I have loved the restaurant for years! I took my wife in our first date here. We've have frequented it weekly since then. The prices used to be reasonable. However, recently they've escalated...similar to other places. I still love the food. However, the to-go service is TERRIBLE!!!! We typically place a to-go order several times a week because the in-person wait time has gotten long. Now, each time we call to place a to-go order, I'm placed on hold for (at least) 5 minutes before my order is even taken!!! Service should still be a priority...even for to-go orders. read more

My husband and I came here for the first time last month, and had an OUTSTANDING experience. The food was excellent, and our waitress was awesome...extremely attentive and friendly! Tonight we decided to come back (with our kids this time) to have a special night out, and had an entirely different experience. First, we made reservations for 7:00 pm and still had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which wouldn't have been an issue if the lady working the hostess booth wouldn't have been so RUDE. She was impersonal, wasn't greeting anyone, just kept demanding people's names when they came in to tell her they had reservations. (She was also complaining to coworkers and in her earpiece loud enough for us to hear.) When we were seated, we waited a long time for anyone to come over. When our waitress finally did come over, she wanted us to order our drinks, appetizers, and meals right then and there. We normally want to take our time and enjoy ourselves, but it seemed she wanted to rush us through. She was pretty inattentive and absent most of the meal, and it took quite a while to get everything. Another gentlemen brought us everything except for our drinks, which were often empty. She brought us our bill before asking if we were through, and we still wanted to order dessert. (Which we had previously mentioned). The food also left a lot to be desired. While it was delicious the first time we came, we had the lobster bisque soup tonight which was the worst I have ever had. It didn't taste anything like lobster bisque...more like a weird clam chowder concoction. I couldn't even eat it. My steak, which was supposed to be cooked medium, was definitely more like medium-rare, and I could barely cut through the center. I was literally having to saw at it. I was pleasantly surprised by The Chop House. Normally a steakhouse that looks as nice as The Chop House would come with a hefty bill. But I was able to get a salad, seven ounce ribeye, and broccoli on the side for a whopping total of...$19. On top of that, for that low price, the steak was of very high quality. It was delicious actually. The interior of The Chop House is a sweet mix between romantic and casual. I was heading out of town for work and decided to take my wife here for a date before I flew out the next morning. I used the open table app to make a reservation for 8pm. We arrived a little early (7:15) and checked in. I figured we would have a bit of a wait so the missus and I headed to the bar to get a drink. Before I could even order, our table was ready. So we got to our table and our server, Benjamin, arrived to take our drink orders. We got our drinks and proceeded to order our main course. My wife ordered the ribs and I ordered a 10 oz steak (medium). And we didn't have to wait long at all. My steak was cooked to absolute perfection. Cut like butter. And tasted even better! And the ribs?? Let me tell you: I've been to Kansas City and had the best ribs ever. These ribs were very, VERY close to that. So good! Fall off the bone, for real! My wife didn't even have to get her hands messy. Those food and drinks here are wonderful and the service was excellent! Props to our server Benjamin for his recommendations as well. Perhaps the best steakhouse in Murfreesboro. Very plush decorations. There is so much to talk about. So, here goes. To avoid repetition, I will make one general comment of praise. The food was not overly salty. This is significant in my mind because of the foods I selected and how many other establishments would serve salty foods. I will review the food, the atmosphere and the server in this article. Soup of the day was a chicken poblano offering. A rich broth base had a noticeable chicken presence that was balanced perfectly with poblanos. There were other great flavors that were perfectly merged. I loved it and it could make a great lunch with the bread all by itself. Fresh baked, whole wheat bread came next and it, too was great. It was a softer whole wheat, a bit fluffy, but still with a nice texture and crust. Soften honey butter melted nicely on the still warm bread and complimented it perfectly. While the prime rib was not very hot, I reminded myself that I did order it very rare. It was cooked to my perfection. It did not have that dry-aged flavor, but was very, very good. There was a nice seasoned crust that provided about 1/2" of well done meat that then gave way to rare beef I asked for. It is served "au jus", as a wonderful accompaniment. Yes, I am raving about that little dish of juice that came with it. A hearty beef flavor added wonders to the prime rib dipped in it. Some steak houses offer this little dish that is so thin and watery, but not here. The juice was richly prepared to the point that your beef partially disappeared in the dense broth. Horseradish is offered either creamy, or "raw". I was not familiar with the term, raw. To me it was just out of the jar like we Polish people enjoy. Horseradish goes stale very quickly. From experience, I can say this jar had been opened for a week or so, and it still had a nice bite. For the first time, I ate the beef with both juice and horseradish. It was that well balanced. I even considered mixing a portion of the horseradish in with the juice, much like you do with wasabi and shoyu when you have sushi or sashimi. Justin, my server, suggested the "Corn Creme Brulee". I'm glad he did. It was wonderful. Perhaps he mentioned it was a creamed corn. No. It was like a corn pudding it was so thick. The sugar topping, nicely scorched added a wonder flavorful touch. Since I mentioned Justin, let me tell you how good a job he did and why management should notice this young man. He offered suggestions. He was spot on with refilling my tea, remembered I wanted lemon and brought extra slices with out asking. Prompt on removing my dishes, he checked in with me often. For $28, with tip, I got a great meal at a wonderful price. An open kitchen is present just beyond the host/hostess station. Whenever you have an open kitchen and can see the food being cooked, to me, it sends a message of confidence and I tend to trust the quality more. Glancing at others' meals without appearing some kind of creeper, I believed most of the other plates were served with the same quality I enjoyed. Decor was very rich, with dark wood, wallpaper and soft lighting. This even carried to the restrooms, though were better lit. The booth seat was comfortable. A large fire place commanded the center of the dining area I was in. While not ablaze, there were nice gas lights on both sides of the mantle. As a driver for Uber, I will recommend this place to out of town visitors who are looking for an upscale option. Great food, decent prices, nice service and a wonderful atmosphere. read more

Another excellent lunch at Chop House/Murfreesboro. The lunch wait line was long at 11:30 (20 minute wait). The only negative is that the "wait area" is very small and standing for 20-30 minutes can be less than motivating for a leisurely lunch. I enjoyed the grilled chicken salad with balsamic dressing. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The salad comes with a large fried onion ring on top which is a tasty treat. My lunch partner had the trout, creamed spinach and baked sweet potato. Let me tell you about a server named Micah - We came to the Chop House for their great food and a remedy to not cook for ourselves, but Micah made it a special night. His exceptional service, attention to detail, knowledge of the food and wine, made me feel so cared for. He even engaged our six-year-old daughter and talked briefly about his own child, which made me like him even more. If you can't use the whole card at once or you have any amount left it seems like their system seems to be down for you to use the balance. I may be wrong, I'm just guessing it's just a feeling got.
