this place is amazing!!! I got the filet with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. The filet was cooked perfectly, exactly how a Medium temp steak should be cooked. The mashed potatoes were the perfect consistency and the mac n cheese was to die for. My boyfriend got the T bone with a caesar salad and the parmesan spinach. He said his steak was also cooked perfectly, the salad was fresh and the spinach was SO SO SO GOOD. We had the the fried mozzarella for our appetizer and they were very well made. We had a delightful dinner here at the Chop House. We called ahead and made reservations on a Friday evening which resulted in less than a five minute wait. Our server, Natalie was very helpful and had a very welcoming demeanor. The food was delicious and very generous at a reasonable price. Our glasses barely reached half empty before refills were brought. The Chop House was recommended by a good friend who lives in the area. Not just for the price/portion ratio, their lunch special that is everyday to 3 or 4pm or the fact they accept call-in wait-list reservation, but for their consistency in customer service. This was the first time my husband and I went to the chop House. Our friends gave us a gift card for Christmas. We went today at 12:30 with our friends. Sydney was our waitress.We ordered the crispy calamari and shrimp and our friends or the onion rings for appetizers. They were absolutely delicious hot fresh full of flavor! I ordered the prime rib with sautéed mushrooms and baked sweet potato. It was off the hook! I have been craving prime rib for a very long time you could cut it with a fork so flavorful, the mushrooms were a great side dish with it and the sweet potato was so fluffy and delicious!. My husband ordered the seafood fettuccine and he said it was very good. We had great service from Sydney food came out at different times so we weren't rushed and that was a plus! This is the second time I have sat in the bar area and have waited extremely long for my food, ignored by both bartenders, and served my food after "others" that didn't look like me were served similar dishes. I also was completely disregarded for even the dang bread! While again "others" that didn't look like me were checked on, brought more bread, drinks refilled, we were ignored. When I asked the bartender why we weren't even acknowledged, brought bread, or even asked if we needed anything after our food came out the answer was simply I don't know I forgot. It is simply unacceptable! The food was good and flavorful at least. But I couldn't enjoy eating it at the establishment due to the poor service. I asked for a togo box because I didn't even feel comfortable eating it there. The other bartender completely ignored and served the people on either side of me. I will never eat in person here again! Which is terrible because it's one of few very nice restaurants in Murfreesboro. No type of apology or accountability. read more

Baxter and I fell upon this delightful steak house last evening. As other reviews have noted, it's cozy, dimly lit and has a smooth ambience. The hostess and server were quite young, but professional, prompt and pleasant. Generally, young servers tend to be aloof and inattentive, but that was not the case here as it appears they were properly trained. Dinner was the basics, filet and ribeye. Both properly cooked, and the vegetables were steamed to perfection. Dinner, with one drink each and no dessert was $70, out the door. Very solid meal, at a very fair price. We were seated to the right of the front door, and it was very quiet. Easy to converse. To the left, it was noisier. We chose the seared Ahi tuna as our appetizer. Yeah, not the best I've ever had, but it came out quickly and got our brains back online. It was served atop some couscous. I think the pasta was a bit overdone, but I'm picky. The wasabi was wimpy. I liked the sweet / hot dipping sauce. A Guinness for the hubster. He could not get it served at room temp, but allowed it to warm up as the night wore on. I had a glass of wine. Salads: Crisp greens, and the Parmesan cheese was abundant on my Caesar salad. Creamy baked potato soup was great. Topped with bacon, green onion & cheese. Entree: Hubby got the prime rib with a loaded baked potato. The star of the evening! I wondered if it had been smoked. We asked the waitress, and she said that it was cooked in a ... oh, I forgot. But it is some special technique. The prime rib was very tender, and had taken all night to cook. You can get grated horseradish or horseradish sauce to go with it. Somehow, we still had room for apple crisp, topped with ice cream. We went for a walk in the nearby mall. The restaurant was a bit hard for us to find. It is close to the NW corner of Medical Center Parkway and Thompson Lane. Great service! We decided to go on a whim and were really delighted we did. The Chop House was a really good environment that has higher end food, but still allows for a more casual dress. Our server was attentive and polite even though it felt like it took us forever to make a final decision. We all settled on different variations of the filet, which is unusual for us since we typically go for something different to share. The filets were all cooked to medium rare perfection. The house salads were fresh and crisp with good toppings, and our veggies were lightly seasoned and also perfectly cooked. Even our cocktails were fabulous. We truly enjoyed everything about this place! "CHOP HOUSE CHOP", THE BEST Chop I've ever had! The cut was 2" thick grilled to perfection on the outside and perfectly cooked inside. Served with Sweet Potato, Spiced Apples and Apple/Orange/Ginger Chutney. I intended to order a steak but opted for the "Chop House Chop" I think this is a house specialty and I highly recommend trying it. I think you will be pleased. A reliable spot for a good lunch or dinner here in the 'boro. The Chop House is a chain (albeit a very good one) so this likely isn't the spot you will find the most life changing meal of your life. However, the service is on point and the food is consistently delicious. You can expect your protein to be perfectly cooked every time and the homemade soups are worth a visit based solely on their own merit. The lunch menu is extensive and a hidden gem no matter what time of day you visit is the chargrilled shrimp. We return to this spot regularly and whether we stick with our known favorites or try something new I can honestly say that we have never been dissatisfied with the quality of the food or service we have received. Prices on the dinner menu run the gamut but you can enjoy many of the same options on the lunch menu for a lower price if you want to find your new favorite. read more

Great food, expensive, poor customer service. Reserved a booth or table well in advance for a corner away from the middle of the room bc of anxiety (for valentine's day). Got there, still had to wait awhile to be seated, and then told me that they don't honor reservations like that on valentine's day due to the extra seating they implement to make more money. They put us in a tiny table in the very middle of there room-- worst possible place. The waiter seemed to be more interested in the older people because he probably thought we wouldn't tip much as young people. Jokes on him bc I would've tipped great had he given great service. It was first time at The Chop House, I had traveled from Cookeville to meet a lady, she picked The Chop House. It was Saturday and it was a 30 minute wait, that was not a problem it gave us a chance to talk. When we were texted that a table was ready we when up to be seated, we were advised there would be a short delay, 7 minutes later you were seated. She ordered the Santa Fe Salad with dressing on the side and I ordered the Chicken Tenders with Onion Rings. The meal was served, she seemed happy with her meal. My meal was 4 small (about the size of a little finger) Chicken Tenders and 3 Onion Rings. The Chicken Tender seemed to be over cooked and dry. I had to cut the Tenders and the Onion Rings into little pieces to make my lunch last so she could finish her salad. If it was not for the waiter our experience was have been worse. The I got back to Cookeville, I had to get something to eat. I guess you are wonder why I did not make a big deal about meal, It was the first time I met the lady and I did not want to make a issue about the meal.
