Once upon a time our house cleaner told me that our central vac wasn't working. He switched it on and I could hear suction but the brush wasn't turning. I then took it and switched it on and off a few times, since the vacumn could probably tell that I meant business. I then proclaimed that it was broken. I searched Google and found The Cleaning Supplier. The man on the phone said they could probably fix it, and to bring it by anytime. When I got there, Dewey asked what he could do for me. I explained my problem and he told me that he would be able to give me an estimate in a couple of days. He then said that the switches sometimes go, because they click to one side for suction and the other side for power to the brush. That was when I realized - despite having owned this house and central vac for ten years - that I may not have switched it to both sides... Dewey happily tested it for me right then and there, and sure enough, it worked fine. He didn't charge me for his time, most likely because he didn't want to embarrass me further. He was a total gentleman, so I promised to write a review. Here it is. Really rude owner. I called earlier in the day to ask if they were an authorized repair center for Ricarr and the gentleman said yes. I asked if they charge for diagnostic and he said no, we'll look it over for 10-15 minutes and give you an idea of what might be wrong. I got there about 5 minutes before they closed so I wasn't expecting much. I saw that the windows said they were a small business which I love to support. I walk in with my son and there was a guy, in maybe his 60's, sitting in a chair up front. He didn't say hi so I greeted him. I looked around, no one behind the counter and no one around the store - beside him. I asked if he worked there and he starred at me for 10 seconds then condescendingly said Yes, I work here. I kind of laughed and said ok I didn't know if you were a customer waiting. Since he didn't ask I started explaining that in 2020 I bought the machine "new" from eBay and have only ever had problems. Since it was a faulty machine I opened a dispute asking for my money back but my ebay dispute was settled in favor of the seller because he said it was "new". About this time, who I assume to be this man's wife, came up front from the back. At this point I assume I am dealing with owners. The guy asked me the rhetorical question, "you bought it on eBay?" Which obviously I replied yes since I had just stated as much. He asked how much I paid and told him then I said because I didn't want to pay almost double that in store. He started looking my vacuum over and plugged it in then turned it on. I explain I had replaced the bag and took apart a few things on the bottom to see if anything obvious was wrong like too much hair or something I could identify. He said well the price depends what store you go to, I have this newest for the same price you paid. He told the woman that mine is a 2011 and she acted surprised. She started writing up a ticket with my vacuum description while I mentioned I talked to someone earlier and that he said it was a free diagnostic and it would be about 10-15 minutes. The owner said it was $35 because that is how much he pays the tech hourly and taking it apart take about an hour so that cost covers the employees pay but the $35 could be applied towards the repair or a new machine. The woman handed me a stub to the matching ticket she was creating. I said ok, well that's what I was told over the phone and the owner countered saying that he knows what tech it was and he'll tell him. Then he continued to condescend, telling me he wouldn't go to the car dealership for a diagnostic and expect it to be free and that he couldn't make money by doing free diagnostics all the time. I said that's just what I was told over the phone after I had taken off some panels and nothing I had done resolved the problem. He said well I know you didn't take like 56 screws out to see everything and there could be any number of things wrong when they really dive deep. Then he said when it's fixed you'll have an excellent vacuum like he was doing me a huge favor. I told him I didn't claim to take it apart that extensively. I removed hair then put it back together when I couldn't find the problem. After feeling throughly stupid and my voice shaking I told them both that I would take my vacuum and decide what I wanted to do. I handed my ticket stub back to the woman and turned around then left with my son and vacuum in had. I knew my decision before I walked out The Cleaning Supplier door. I will not be returning. I went to another local authorized Ricarr repair Wimmers Sew & Vac in South Salt Lake after I had called and asked the price to diagnose. I was told there was no cost to diagnose. When I got there the employee greeted me, was professional and had an idea of what what she thought it could within minutes. She was honest and also mentioned several other things it could be and gave me rough estimates of each price and labor prices. I got a 50% off labor coupon on their website when I had looked them up in the parking lot of The Cleaning Supplier. Wimmers expects to determine what is wrong by Tuesday (today is Saturday) and I won't have to pay anything unless I decide to go forward with the repair. The owner, or whoever he is, shouldn't be customer facing and should only do repairs if he is going to talk to people the way he talked to me. read more

Cleaning the shower is now easier, cleaning the floors is more effective, etc, etc. I bought a bunch of little rags and sponges and cleaning pads and a squeegee she recommended and they're all great. This company is a complete pleasure to work with! I worked with Spencer and he was so professional and courteous. The power head on my vacuum went out and they diagnosed it, compared the cost of fixing it vs. replacing it and gave me my options without pressuring me. The costs were completely reasonable. I chose to order a new one and would be without a vacuum for several days while we waited for it to come in. They offered to give me a loaner if I needed it. It is the time of Covid-19 and they came to my car wearing a mask and picked up my vacuum and hose for service and then returned them when they were ready for pick-up to my trunk without contact and were friendly about it. I dropped my Bissell Carpet Cleaner off while it was under warranty. They were able to get it replaced for me. I also dropped off my older Dyson upright which needed a couple of replacement parts. They were able to fix it within my budget. There was a bit of a communication problem, but they were able to make it all right in the end. this is my second time bringing my dyson animal 25. few years ago the service was excellent. this time i honestly i'm so taken back. first off i called few weeks ago and was told by a woman on the phone just to bring it in and it will take day or two. was told they have to different levels for servicing my dyson. basic $100 and upgraded $130. the upgraded one cleaned the internals specially the funnels etc. came in two weeks ago and was told it will be 7-10 days due to owners being away on vacation. wasn't happy but vacation is vacation. the store lady said the 130$ doesn't clean the funnels, only the $150 one does. ok, i told her that's not what i was told but proceeded to request the middle one. got a call yesterday, just short of 2 weeks i am assuming by the owner and told to pick up. picked up just now, the store lady first couldn't find it. then rings me up for $160. when i asked why, she said my filters must have been dirty so they were swapped and new filter given to me. i told her no one called me to ask if that's ok, it s not anywhere on their description that that is the part of service plus my filters were very well take. care off because i clean them myself weekly. she proceeded to ask if i want my old filter back and i told her i certainly am not paying for new one if it wasn't needed. she went back to find my "old filter" came back and switched it. OMG i am so glad i asked to see it. she put dirty full of hair and whatnot filter back in my machine trying to pass it as mine. if i say nasty literally full of hair and dust clumps, the whole filter was just clogged. i asked her why she tried to pass that as my filter and she said she did not, that is just what she found in the back because she doesn't have my filter anymore. i almost died. then she rang me up for $144 and when i asked if the service was 130 what else is on the charge she said $0.50 cent credit card fee which they do have displayed by the register but additional $4 store fee that is NOWHERE posted. i understand everything is going up, small business are trying to survive but this whole experience was nothing but ridiculous. i asked to speak to the owners and they are supposed to call me today but will see. as of right now i will never go back and take my business elsewhere. i also have video of the bottom bristles brush. not sure if that was part of the service, i thought it would be and it still has hair and dust bunnies on it like it wasn't even touched. read more

This place is wonderfully staffed and operated. I dropped my Bissell Carpet Cleaner off with a problem that was covered by the manufacturer warranty. Heather was the one who helped me. She was very kind and told me upfront that Bissell has a reputation for terrible turnaround times. This was very useful because I didn't wait weeks wondering why it took so long to come back to me. Turns out Bissell replaced machine altogether. After receiving a call, I picked it up and just had to sign the receipt. Very friendly and very good service. Horrible do not go there! They have horrible customer service, and are not friendly there at all. I got called a liar after I called the Walmart, who told me to call Biswell, who told me that they would give me a replacement belt. He then yelled at me, called Biswell and very rudely accused the representative that either they were wrong, or I was wrong. When they said I was wrong, he then tried to shove the phone at my face to prove to me that I was wrong. The whole time I was about to cry. I put up my hands and said "no thank you." They delivered the vacuum and installed a Johnny Vac unit, not what we ordered or agreed to. We have always had good experiences here. When we recently needed a new vacuum, the staff was friendly and helpful in showing us several options in a relaxed (no pressure) atmosphere.
