    Curry comes with rice
    Kaylee C.

I'm really sad to write this but I just ordered my usual spring rolls from here and when I ate a big bite I literally had to spit it out because it tasted so bitter or spoiled. I started trying the ingredients separately and I found out it was the cucumber? Everything else tasted fine. The cucumber was so extremely bitter it didn't make sense. And the rolls without cucumber are just plain and dry. I will try again soon to see if the issue was fixed but that was really disappointing.

Sorry it took me 10 days to write this review, but I absolutely needed to write one. We went here for dinner and it was wonderful. The food was great, and the prices are reasonable. But that's not what this review was about. When we got here, the place was hopping. People were waiting for takeout orders, and it was pretty busy with sit-down customers too. And helping all the tables was ONE waitress. Yet, despite the stress, she was on top of it, prompt, and friendly. I'm not good with names, but she deserves a raise! We'll definitely be back.

Thai House is one of those reliable spots I keep coming back to whenever I'm craving Thai food. The flavors are always on point, portions are satisfying, and everything tastes fresh and made with care. The absolute best thing to get here is the Pad See Ew--seriously SO good. The noodles are perfectly cooked, the sauce has that great balance of savory and slightly sweet, and everything comes together really well. It's comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you're craving classic Thai comfort food. Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly, which made the whole experience smooth and easy. The vibe is casual and relaxed, perfect for a low-key lunch or dinner. Best for: Comfort food cravings, casual meals, or anyone looking for a solid Thai spot in Sacramento. Easy 5 stars from me--I'll definitely be back for that Pad See Ew again.

This is a nice little spot for Thai comfort food. There about -0 or 12 tables, all with fresh roses on them, which was a nice touch. There's just one guy running the dining room and the door dash orders. But he was attentive and food came out quick. The fresh rolls were fantastic and well balanced, no chewiness of the wrappers. The peanut vinaigrette was sweet and just a little spicy. The pad Thai was fantastic! Sweet and cooked to the perfect doneness. The shrimp were not overcooked. The curry was very flavorful. The pineapple flavor permeated the entire dish and I've never had a pineapple curry quite like this one. Would highly recommend. The restaurant made it easy to adapt the entrees to the dietary restrictions we provided. I recommend sitting outside because if you sit inside, you'll smell every dish as it's being made and you'll end up ordering all of them. Also, the Tom Kha soup was one of the better ones I've found in Sacramento. Stop by and grab some soul comforting Thai food!

It had been a few years since we ate at Thai House. We should not have waited so long! You don't go here for the ambiance, think of a diner for Thai food - you go for the flavor. We did a pretty wide sample: Beef Satay; Chicken Tom-Ka soup; Veggie PaNang curry; and Pork Pad Thai. THE PROS: The flavors are spot- on. Really liked the Tom-Ka. Unlike many Thai places, they don't ask you how "hot" you want it. To me all our food was just right spice wise. About a 4.5/10 on the Thai Hot scale. We often get it hotter, but these flavors were so good, it didn't seem necessary. If you want high-heat let them know up front. Good size portions-(which often Thai restaurants skimp on.) A few outside tables on a sidewalk patio for nice evenings. THE CONS: None of these are enough not to eat here, but to be fair, most places have a few. The overall ambience and decor are nothing to speak of. Boxes of supplies are stacked in the dining area. The background music, while definitely authentic, was, for me, a bit too upfront and noticeable. Also, while common, I wish they would remove the inedible aromatics- like the galanga, keifer leaf and lemon grass stalk - from the soup when it's served. BOTTOM LINE: The foods the thing, you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for fancy, get it to go and light a candle at home. Rating: 8/10

    W7. Spicy Eggplant Dinner
    Patricia J.

We love this place. Tried nothing new last week--the spicy eggplant. I asked for it to be not too spicy and they gave me something with the perfect level spicy. It was so beautiful and tasty. The service is always friendly and we love this casual place.

Absolutely love this place. Amazing food. Great customer service. Love their pad Thai, drunken noodles, red and yellow curry. Must order their Thai tea.

First time to Thai House. Ambiance is small, clean, mediocre. You don't go there for the ambiance. But the service was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Excellent assortment of food choices. While there many people were picking up to go orders, so that may be the way to go. Regardless, definitely will eat there again or order take out. Our meals were as ordered and so good! Recommend!

    Chinese Zodiac Placements
    Jen L.

It's a little strange that they have a Chinese Zodiac on the paper placemats at a Thai restaurant but whatever. They are still entertaining to read even though I have seen them a million times. The service was friendly as soon as we walked in the door. They quickly seated us and came by soon to take our order, and they checked on us during dinner. Everything we had was delicious and had really good flavor. The table of us four shared a large Tom Kha with Chicken, Fresh Shrimp Rolls, Pad Kee Mow with Chicken, Cashew Chicken with a side of White Rice, Panang Chicken Curry with a side of Brown Rice. Yummy yummy in my tummy. My son really enjoyed the rolls and Cashew Chicken which was not spicy and not too sweet. The Panang Curry had big chucks of chicken and veggies. I would've liked some of my spicy dishes to be spicier but at least they had Thai chiles available.

Picked up takeout from Thai House. Two N1's and an order of fried chicken egg rolls. The pad see ew had that smoky, savory flavor we were hoping for, and the egg rolls had a solid crunch. You only get four egg rolls for $12, which felt a little steep for the portion. Food was still hot by the time we got home, which is always a plus with takeout. When I walked in, the woman at the front was polite, but one of the first things she said was, "How are you paying?" Kind of caught me off guard. Not a dealbreaker, just... notable. Good food, fast service, and we'll be back. Might just be ready with my card next time.

Eggplant with chicken. Spicy and delicious!
    Lisa B.

Really good Thai food! Came for lunch. One server gal was bustling. Wish there were more lunch specials. Ordered the $15 eggplant stir fry with chicken. Came with a small salad and a small serving of white or brown rice. Large portion, super fresh, tasty, authentic, spicy. Flavors were on point. There's an annoying ringing-- I think when a phone order or online order comes across? A bit annoying. Otherwise, delicious meal and would love to come back and try other dishes.

    Julia L.

Sadly I came back for this soup last night and it wasn't at all like last time. The broth was watery, it lacked that creamy coconut aspect and lacked flavor, I actually went back in to ask if there was anything I could add to make it better and the chef told me the problem was we "added too much" (my boyfriend and I like to add extra veggies/protein) so that's why the soup base was bland. He then handed me a bunch of some kind of spicy sauce that it no where near what I was needing because my soup was already spicy enough... I'm just super disappointed in this soup this time around. So due to the inconsistency and the lack of actual care to fix it from the chef I no longer recommend this.

Pad kee mao with beef to go
    Joseph R.

After 7+ yrs living in the area i decided to finally try the establishment for the first time. I ordered online to go a few minutes before they opened during a weekday. I originally planned to order a few food items but observed the cost was on the higher than what I'm accustomed to when ordering from Thai Restaurants throughout the years. This included fees for ordering online plus substituting for different proteins. Weary over the pricing, I just stuck with the pad kee mow (drunken noodles) and replaced their standard chicken with beef. From online order to having the food ready, it didn't take long at all (there was an estimated time of 45 minutes but it was ready in 10-15). Walking in to pick up the order I observed a nice, clean and spacious establishment - was promptly greeted and received my order. The food itself was pretty good - wasn't as spicy as I'd have hoped it to be. I'm knocking it a few stars mainly because for the amount I paid, I'd expected a bit more for the serving.I do however plan to come back and eat indoors and try a few other dishes in hopes that my first experience was due to ordering take out.

We did our best "research project" and ordered everything our table could justify: Thai iced coffee, coconut canopy salad, pad see ew and pad Thai with pork belly, sunset curry with tilapia, and mango sticky rice with ice cream. For science, obviously. Thai Time should put a warning label on their Thai iced coffee. One sip through each layer and the conversation stopped. We woke up. The taste buds clocked in for work. The brain sent out the announcement: "Cancel all distractions -- apparently dinner has plans for us." Good thing we listened. Thammasorn then proceeded to take us on a full Thai flavor adventure. This wasn't just dinner. This was a carefully organized attack on our ability to say, "No thanks, I'm full." The coconut canopy salad started fresh and bright, the noodles brought the comfort, the pork belly brought the celebration, the sunset curry with tilapia brought the "wait, everyone try this" moment. And the mango sticky rice with ice cream showed up at the end like a victory parade. I always read the bad reviews because I'm fascinated by the rare human ability to find sadness while surrounded by curry, noodles, and people being nice to you. They are to be safely ignored. Our experience? Five stars out of 10. Beautiful flavors, warm service, and that special energy you only get when the people behind a place actually care. Thank you, Thammasorn and Thai Time. Sacramento is lucky to have you.

I'm not sure if management or chef has changed but their food is not what I remembered from years ago. We initially ordered their tofu pad thai and gai yang and immediately noticed how pricey their menu was. They have a wall of specials and I remember being shocked that their orange chicken was $24. I didn't mind paying more than what I was used to for my pad thai because I remembered their food was delicious but I was shocked when my pad thai came out. It was literally drowned in sauce and looked like it was a bowl of noodle soup. I was still optimistic hoping that it tasted better than it looked but it just tasted like sweet rice noodle soup. I was hesitant to bring it up to the waitress after two bites but so glad I did because I would have hated myself if I left without saying anything. The waitress was kind and offered to remake the dish. Instead, I opted for something else because I was afraid to be disappointed again. I ordered their tofu drunken noodles since I've gotten it here before and remember it being tasty. I confirmed that the drunken noodle was going to be a dry noodle dish and thankfully it was. It was good but not the best I've ever had. My boyfriend had their gai yang which is a marinated grilled chicken dish. He said it was pretty dry without the sauce on the side but the sweet chili sauce provided was pretty tasty. It's probably not worth $26 given the how dry the chicken was and he said he would never order it again. Overall, the customer service was great and portions were good. I had to deduct 3 stars from my previous review as the food quality has significantly gone down in my experience and doesn't justify the high menu prices in my opinion.

Everything else sat somewhere in the middle Parking? Lot We had: Chicken Satay (4/5): Flavor wise, this was locked in. One of the better peanut sauces I've had. Nutty, slightly sweet, with enough depth to keep it interesting. The problem was execution. It came out lukewarm, which dulled the whole experience and made it feel less fresh than it should have. Also could've used more sauce. Still good, just not quite dialed Green Curry (2.5/5): This one just didn't show up. The flavors felt muted and never really came together.
