As a Laotian girly, this is 10/10! It's so hard to find a restaurant with good food when I'm spoiled with authentic cooks at home but this is like home away from home (does it count if I live 20 minutes away from here?)! We got fried rice (not pictured), drunken noodles, Thai tea and complimentary salad! Each dish was perfectly seasoned and portioned. The salad was like a cherry on top (but before the main dishes) because the peanut sauce was chefs kiss!! The owner is also insanely sweet and personable!! Don't doubt it, just go!!

I've been coming here for years and it's just comfort on a plate. My favorite is the Pad see ewe all the flavors and everything from the veggies taste so fresh. I'm always welcomed as I walk in and the vibe is so family oriented. I can't wait to go back to try more of their items but I know everything would be amazing. Authentic Thai foods at a great price

I was super skeptical of a place called Tasty Thai but thought it can't be that bad. The complete opposite, the food was tasty and some better Thai food that have had in awhile. I ordered for take out and though it took about 20 minutes it was worth the wait. The tofu panang curry $13,95 was really flavorful and ran on the sweeter side. But I liked it a lot. The tofu pad Thai $13.95 was plentiful and noodles had great texture. The packaging was great as well. The utensils were packed in a separate bag so didn't get messed up. Service was friendly. I decided to stop by this (literal) hidden gem after picking my parents up from the airport. I've passed by this restaurant so many times without ever knowing it existed! We got there around 7 pm last night and they still seated us even though they close at 8 pm. The hostess was super lovely and kind. It seemed like she knew a few of the people that came in for takeout and dine in which was a very positive sign for me that we picked a good place to have dinner at! It's also very clean, nice, and cozy inside. We ordered the pad thai to share, the #29 with chicken, and veggie rolls. Everything was delicious! I talked to the hostess after our meal and she let me know that everything is freshly made to order and nothing comes from a jar. I'm not a huge Thai cuisine fan but I would definitely come back here again (especially for those veggie rolls)!

When I walked in, it immediately felt like home. I'm part Lao and Thai, and the interior reminded me of my grandma's house so it really took me back! My boyfriend and I were seated right away and warmly greeted by our waitress. She was so kind, friendly, and accommodating, which really set the tone for the meal. We started with the Calamari appetizer perfectly golden, crispy, and served with a unique sweet & sour sauce. It wasn't the usual egg roll dipping sauce; this one was a bit darker, richer, and had an umami depth that stood out to me a lot For entrées, we ordered the Thai Basil Fried Rice and the Prik-King Tilapia(both at Thai spicy level so def only order if you can handle heat!). The flavors were sooooo incredible it was bold, authentic, and packed with spice. Everything is served family-style, but we learned that during lunch hours the portions are more personal-sized. The portions overall were very generous, so we ended up taking a lot home. No complaints though since it means more to enjoy later! As someone who isn't a Sacramento native, I can confidently say this has become my favorite Thai spot so far. I wish I had gotten our waitress' name because she made the experience even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!

Its ok if youre really hungry. Service is friendly. Papaya is always hit or miss , its really annoying. Some days it taste like papaya in water and sugar. Some days its excellent i just dont understand. Pad see ew/ drunken noodles and boat noodles are good, chicken is super dry in the stir fry dish, but flavors are decent. I will never ever order the egg rolls again (in photo) has nothing in it, barely a skimpy tiny piece of chicken u can barely taste it. Its basically just fried eggroll wrapper and its super hard , not a good crunchy but like hard over fried or stale over friend roll. Theres better thai options.....

Tasty Thai is by far one of the best Thai Restaurants in Sacramento! The family ran business takes pride in the freshness of their food. All ingredients are fresh and bought same day. I have witnessed this over the years. The service impeccable! The family works together to make sure their customers are well taken care of and have top customer service. The ambiance is small and intimate. My favorite part is coming in and seeing the grandmother cooking in the back. The best in Town!

Thai time Owner and…read moreRecipe Wizard Thammasorn Lau has created something that feels less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's home -- assuming that someone's home happens to have amazing Thai chefs, incredible spices, and food that makes you immediately start planning your next visit before you're even done eating. We did our best "research project" and ordered everything our table could justify: Thai iced coffee, coconut canopy salad, pad see ew and pad Thai with pork belly, sunset curry with tilapia, and mango sticky rice with ice cream. For science, obviously. Thai Time should put a warning label on their Thai iced coffee. One sip through each layer and the conversation stopped. We woke up. The taste buds clocked in for work. The brain sent out the announcement: "Cancel all distractions -- apparently dinner has plans for us." Good thing we listened. Thammasorn then proceeded to take us on a full Thai flavor adventure. This wasn't just dinner. This was a carefully organized attack on our ability to say, "No thanks, I'm full." The coconut canopy salad started fresh and bright, the noodles brought the comfort, the pork belly brought the celebration, the sunset curry with tilapia brought the "wait, everyone try this" moment. And the mango sticky rice with ice cream showed up at the end like a victory parade. I always read the bad reviews because I'm fascinated by the rare human ability to find sadness while surrounded by curry, noodles, and people being nice to you. They are to be safely ignored. Our experience? Five stars out of 10. Beautiful flavors, warm service, and that special energy you only get when the people behind a place actually care. Thank you, Thammasorn and Thai Time. Sacramento is lucky to have you.

I'm not sure if management or chef has changed but their food is not what I remembered from years ago. We initially ordered their tofu pad thai and gai yang and immediately noticed how pricey their menu was. They have a wall of specials and I remember being shocked that their orange chicken was $24. I didn't mind paying more than what I was used to for my pad thai because I remembered their food was delicious but I was shocked when my pad thai came out. It was literally drowned in sauce and looked like it was a bowl of noodle soup. I was still optimistic hoping that it tasted better than it looked but it just tasted like sweet rice noodle soup. I was hesitant to bring it up to the waitress after two bites but so glad I did because I would have hated myself if I left without saying anything. The waitress was kind and offered to remake the dish. Instead, I opted for something else because I was afraid to be disappointed again. I ordered their tofu drunken noodles since I've gotten it here before and remember it being tasty. I confirmed that the drunken noodle was going to be a dry noodle dish and thankfully it was. It was good but not the best I've ever had. My boyfriend had their gai yang which is a marinated grilled chicken dish. He said it was pretty dry without the sauce on the side but the sweet chili sauce provided was pretty tasty. It's probably not worth $26 given the how dry the chicken was and he said he would never order it again. Overall, the customer service was great and portions were good. I had to deduct 3 stars from my previous review as the food quality has significantly gone down in my experience and doesn't justify the high menu prices in my opinion.

The location was a bit odd, as there were barely any other businesses nearby. There is street parking that you can pay for. It's a fairly small restaurant. We were were seated pretty quickly. We opted for mild spice on this. I would order this again. -Chicken pad thai: Done very well! Some places the pad thai is too sweet, but this one was very balanced and had a good tamarind flavor. Medium spicy was a bit on the spicy side, but perfect for me! Would order this again. -Duck larb: Unique, but I couldn't tell it was duck. My partner enjoyed this more than I did. The portion for the larb was on the smaller side and it came with some lettuce, radish, carrots, cucumbers. -Mee kati ground pork: A very unique dish that not many Thai restaurants seem to have, in which it came with noodles, and a variety of toppings like beans sprouts, lettuce, green beans, peanuts, and cilantro. It came with a fermented curry gravy, and it delicious! I would totally order this again. -Green Thai tea: Quite fragrant and not too full on half and half like some other places have it. It's also not as sweet as another local Thai restaurant. I would actually order this again. -Classic Thai tea: Strong Thai tea flavor, also not too sweet. Everything else sat somewhere in the middle Parking? Lot We had: Chicken Satay (4/5): Flavor wise, this was locked in. One of the better peanut sauces I've had. Nutty, slightly sweet, with enough depth to keep it interesting. The problem was execution. It came out lukewarm, which dulled the whole experience and made it feel less fresh than it should have. Also could've used more sauce. Still good, just not quite dialed Green Curry (2.5/5): This one just didn't show up. The flavors felt muted and never really came together. The vegetable mix was fine, but it needed more eggplant to give it some body and identity. The chicken was forgettable. Nothing offensive, just flat. Easy pass Mango Curry (4.5/5): This is where things turned around. Bright, layered, and actually interesting. Real mango brought a natural sweetness that worked instead of overwhelming, and the sauce had depth. It felt composed.
