My daughters and I had a wonderful lunch at YGF Malatang and chill visit at Chaos Bubbles Shoppe with some friends in Chino Hills. Upon leaving the area, I found myself a bit parched. It must have been the spicy soup LOL. I wanted something cold so why not try the original ice blended drink as advertised by The Coffee Bean. I am not a regular customer at any of The Coffee Bean shops. I may become one after this visit. I got a regular mocha ice blended and both my daughters got the caramel ice blended... one regular and one small... get the regular because small is way too tiny IMHO. My mocha was very light in taste and thin in ice blend. I prefer it with more mocha and a little bit more ice. Maybe I'm just used to the Starbucks version. My daughters love their caramel drinks so no complaints there. Staff was okay. However, after the lady took my order, she just walked away and I had to wait for someone to come my way again so I can get a receipt. Just thought that was weird. Was in the area and looking to redeem a drink through the app. Good thing I searched for a CBTL location before driving all the way to the DB location, thinking that was the closest (or on my route). This CBTL is located between the Chevron and Sprouts, at the corner of the inner strip mall. I was able to find a parking spot a bit down the strip and ordered ahead through the app. After waiting a few minutes, I walked over to CBTL and was greeted as I stepped into the store. The interior was pretty spacious and had plenty of tables and chairs for its customers, especially during this day and age when some stores are "downsizing" their interior seating for its customers. Since I was redeeming a drink, I opted to try a seasonal drink. Even with the extra added shot and half powder, the drink was still a bit too sweet for me. I could not imagine this drink having the full powder. 1 x Large Honey & Nut Latte with Almond Milk 1 x Add Shot 1 x Half Powder Overall, the drink was too sweet, but the service was quick and efficient. It's always something with this place... the last straw was him not giving us the 50% off our first order when getting the app. When I told him he said we would have to do a refund and that I didn't tell him. Even though he did scan my app and it shows there he just chose not to do it. Then a second promo was buy a large for the price of a regular which once again he did not put it through because "we didn't tell him" but it's advertised on the app and instore. The app clearly says "scan in store" to get it and we did. The Claremont location always scans and automatically applies our coupons. They are the reason I have the app in the first place because they always talk to me about it versus here they don't even mention it or want to give any coupons. I used to come here in the 90s when I started getting into coffee. And the 2000s but back then I would only order ice blended coffee with mocha. I got out of the habit of coming to Coffee Bean because there isn't really any around me and I just got used to making it at home or just running to Starbucks drive thru. The other day my daughter and I came here and I got an Americano with the vanilla sugar-free powder. It was so good. It didn't have a weird aftertaste like most sugar-free vanilla do. I went there on Thursday and the manager Tessa was very rude and displayed unprofessional and horrible customer service!!! On top of it all, she served us old coffee and used the excuse that we came in 10 min before closing. That's unacceptable and not a valid reason! Have been in NY almost 15 years and this is still one of my three go-to's that I visit every time I come home. Starbucks doesn't compare - the CBTL powders are so smooth and compliment the coffee or tea. The tea is high quality because they use the full leaves - if you look at bags that have smaller pieces (ie Lipton), it's the lesser quality / dust of the higher quality leaves. That's why you can brew multiple cups with one CBTL tea bag. Appreciate the coffee and tea is responsibly sourced too. read more

For many years this has been my favorite coffee and tea place, and so it remains today. I was first introduced to the coffee Bean & tea leaf happy McLaren airport in Las Vegas, when I happened upon a food engineer (for lack of a better term) on a flight and he was talking about why he prefers The coffee Bean over other corporate establishments. Because they use powders instead of syrups as their base, he said the taste will come through to spite hot or cold temperatures, which makes a big difference. I don't know if he was right or wrong, but I will tell you this, their coffee and tea lattes and drinks far exceed my expectations. Adornment, their coffees and teas are rich and wonderfully roasted, not bitter, over roasted, or burnt. 1 fun things that I just noted is that they've brought back their Vanilla Ceylon tea. I've had it hot with a little cream and sugar, and to me, it tastes like a wonderful dessert. But my favorite way to drink their Vanilla Ceylon is over ice. It did not sound appealing to me when I first heard about that years ago, but after sampling it, I learned that vanilla just cannot be stopped! It's not always in their shops so I highly recommend that you get in there and try the Vanilla Ceylon. And since it's so blasted hot right now, may I recommend you drink it over ice? read more
