This location is Downey (Firestone BLvd) is so bad! I made a visit 2 weeks ago and the girl that helped me out was horrible. I asked for a certain drink (pomegranate) and she didn't even let me finish before she cut me off!!!! I came today to get my quick coffee and ice fix because coffee bean ice is the best HOWEVER the girls that were here today 01/06/2021 at 6:50pm were horrible I got 2 large drinks and paid for a 32oz cup of JUST ice.... when I go to pay the girl (wasn't wearing her name tag) was on her phone. I waited for her to get off her phone and asked her to scan my barcode so I can get my point she rolled her eyes and said "oh we don't do that, are u paying cash or card" I looked at her and told her to please scan my phone to get my points she failed to do so. I get my drinks and she forgot to give me my 32oz cup of ice. When I asked for my cup of ice she came back and gave me a 32oz cup of ice EMPTY! I asked her for ice once again and she snatched the cup off my hand went back and didn't even fill up my cup of ice. She gave me a 32oz cup with less than half of the cup of ice. Sorry but I'm Paying for a good service and I'm paying extra for ice. Which other coffee beans don't charge for. So she decided to just give me an empty cup of ice. Horrible service. I have been here at all hours and always find it exceptional. I use this location to meet with clients and can always trust that they will not disappoint. Even in the afternoon when the high school across the street lets out, the place is not overrun with teens creating a ruckus. I have zero issues with the quality of drinks or the staff here but I do have two gripes with this particular location. First, do not come here Monday-Friday between 2:30-4pm because this place is swarmed with HS kids from across the street. The parents who are waiting to pick them up take every parking spot available and the kids take up every seat inside Coffee Bean without ordering a thing. My second gripe is with the patio outside Coffee Bean. It seems like it "belongs" to groups of older Russian men who sit there all day long smoking and talking loudly. Cafe mocha for me. All the time. I prefer this over Starbucks just because it tastes better. Probably depends on the barista, but I feel like Starbucks always dumps a truckload of sugar in their drinks. Staff are always nice, they have an outdoor seating area and maybe around 4 tables inside for those who like to stay and study. I believe they have free wifi. Random thought, there's a Marine recruitment agency 2 doors down and one time I saw a guy in uniform come in. I love Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in general so after picking up some cakes from Porto's, we decided to drop by and grab some coffee from this location. The place is nice and clean and the employees are nice and attentive. They have the 32 ounce size here available, which I don't often see displayed at other CBTLs. I would've gotten a 32 ounce iced blended here if it weren't so close to dinnertime (since we were going to a dinner party soon). I drove a couple of miles for my typical hazel latte to be told that she can't open as scheduled 6:30am because her other personnel isn't there. Really bad attitude from GM. A few of my co workers and I were out on the locations patio waiting from health department to b done with inspection at our restaurant which is only a few steps away and is getting ready for its grand opening. We were consuming and were just talking by the way it was only 10 in the morning and the flow of customers was really low. He came outside to ask why it was so many of us on his patio and was making sure we were consuming. Way to go make a first impression I can say that would the last time I consume there. I have been coming here for close to six years now and and it's been few and far between that I have been disappointed. The service is always great and the management seems to keep up with everything pertaining to the up-keeping of establishment. This is a wonderful Coffee Bean location! Lots of seating room, reliable wifi, and super talented/friendly baristas. The store is located in a shopping center with abundant free parking in a nice part of town. I came here to get some writing done while my friend was working at the Downey Courthouse. The atmosphere was excellent for working; very clean, great music, overall good energy. I ordered a cafe mocha and got a refill of decaf drip coffee, both which tasted great and were delivered quickly. The one complaint I have is that my app wasn't working when I tried to check in. They said their internet was down, which was slightly disappointing since I couldn't get my reward points, but it was out of the staff's control so I'm only deducting one star for that. read more

Start out at 5 stars, here are my problems and why I docked a star for each thing: 1) inconsistent charging/pricing: I ordered an iced coffee with some milk. Large is like $3. I go and order the same drink for the second time and the cashier tells me she is going to charge me for a latte because I asked for milk inside and the large comes out to $5. Ridiculous! Starbucks doesn't charge for milk inside their cold brews or iced coffees. That's pisses me off. Minus one star. 2) no rewards programs or loyalty points, but I do like that Costco sells gc's and if you purchase a $30 gc in store, you get any sized free drink. 3) if you sit outside there are always a lot of weird sketchy characters out there. I don't always feel comfortable and I don't like that. Minus a star. 4) parking in this center absolutely always sucks! 5) very hard to find seating because it's a rather small location and full of students/people on laptops and weirdos outside. My current favorite drink is the Hazelnut Latte, delicious both hot or iced (much better then blended). So SO yummy. But my tried and true is the Southern Iced Tea. If it isn't the daily brew they will happily brew you a fresh cup. The baristas are always pleasant and cheerful. It is even worth the hassle of finding a parking space in the tiny lot across from Downey HS when students are being dropped off or picked up. read more

This is my go to coffee spot in town. The service and efficiency is always phenomenal, but today's experience was exceptionally fantastic. I go in and order three #BlackForest drinks and three toasted bagels with cream cheese, to go. By the time my bagels were bagged, and paid for, unbeknownst to me, my drinks were already being finished up! I sit down to wait for them, and 30 seconds later my name was called. This location is always crowded and parking is limited. But they do have free wifi. Newly renovated outside and inside. The place feels roomier and I like the bolder colors that they used for the outside. The drinks from coffee bean has always been a bit stronger than that of Starbucks, which is a welcomed things every now and then. Service has been pretty spot on each time i've come to this location. The only gripe I do have is the location of the pick counter. I dislike it when you come to a coffee shop and you don't have a place to stand around waiting for your drink. It's so cramped at the area of the pick up counter, that you are blocking everyone's way. If there is someone who is going to the bathroom, you most likely have to move. Also note, this location is right in front of Downey High, which means in the morning or in the afternoon, this place can be pretty packed with youngins which in turn equals slow service. I go in on 2/6/2019 at about 9am. I ask for a regular coffee with steamed almond milk and the barista is telling me this will cost me $4.10 (incl. tax).
