So I show up on a Monday morning. There is one guy sitting at a table and one guy standing at the counter near the drink delivery area. There are two employees. One is at the main drink making machine making drinks and the other (Sava)is facing the back counter, I could not determine what she was doing. I stand at the counter waiting to be acknowledged. It's take a solid 90 seconds. I finally get the, "We'll be with you in a moment." Another 2 minutes pass and I become more confused. I'm the only person in line and no one inside the store is waiting for a drink. I keep returning because I love the Cookie Butter latte. I came in the day before Thanksgiving and was told there was no oat milk. I go to place a mobile order 6 days later and that app says there is no oat milk. So on day 7, I call the store at 5:30 am to inquire about the oat milk. I speak with Adam who tells me they do have oat milk. I ask him to update the app so that I can mobile order and he says he will update the app. Flash forward to 6:20, the app is not updated. I see Adam at the register when I arrive and I let him know that I called about oat milk and that I was still unable to order. Adam said he updated on the iPad but will check. He also told me it would take a few minutes. Adam looked confused when I told him I called nearly an hour ago! When I go to pay for my order, my app says I have $8.90. My total is $8.55. Adam tells me my card only has $5.90 and that I owe a balance. I was very confused. This could be an app issue but that's not very cool! I came in the following morning and guess what?!?! Oat milk was not available in the app yet again! You're never believe this next part. They actually had oat milk when I arrived at the store, stood in line, and placed my order. Once again, I was denied an opportunity to save time and order exactly what I desired on the app. I like that they are quickly to turn off options that are not available but I wish they were more eager to turn options on when they are available. I'm will likely stop going to this place and try to make my own java. I drive 10 minutes out of my way before work to come and I am not able to save time in the store my mobile ordering often. read more

While the coffee itself was fine, I will forever be confused and perplexed by coffee shops that have tables and chairs for people to come sit and enjoy their coffee in but don't have available restrooms. This place has had "broken" or out of service restrooms for as long as I can remember and I don't see how that's even allowed. I wish I had a CBTL like this one close to home. (The Shell Gas station on my neighborhood walking route carries their coffee, but that doesn't count.) This location looks to be a good relaxing place to just sit down & enjoy your coffee. Got a Hazelnut iced coffee and it was really good. I could taste the hazelnut, but it didn't overpower the coffee. I like that they use crushed iced instead of cubes. Saw a bottle of liquid sugar-free sweetener on the condiments stand and added a bit in. Nice employees, sunny airy dining room, nice restroom (needs a key). Its your typical Coffee bean & Tea Leaf type of place. You can expect to get the same drinks, treats, and great service that most coffee bean locations give. The staff here has always been more then accommodating and sometimes I want to mix up my drink orders so I ask what do the recommend etc, and they usually surprise me with a specialty not on the menu drink. I love that! Jaqueline was really helpful. I tend to go towards the coffee side when I come here however I think I just might life the tea a lot more sometimes. When they have it brewed I get the peach green tea iced. Amazing, super refreshing and no sugar so you can really taste the peach in the green tea. The hours are your standard coffee shop. Coffee Bean is celebrating their 55th year this week. I got an email saying it's buy one drink get one drink free for iced drinks. We went yesterday to one near my parents house in Diamond Bar and they happily gave us a free ice blended vanilla to go with my wife's iced green matcha tea. She goes on our behalf to this Coffee Bean in Downey and they say it does not apply to iced blended drinks. Is it because they iced blended drinks are not "iced"? I was confused, disappointed, and sad that my wife had to waste gas and time for a store that is inconsistent with more generous stores from the same chain. 1 star for inconsistency with the other store and for inconsistency in one worker saying the deal does not apply to iced blended drinks, another workers saying it does, and then them both deciding that it does not. read more

First time ordering got no straw and it was a Frappuccino, second time i ordered no straw, and now third time I ordered a Oreo Frappuccino and they basically gave me a blended up coffee with ice and whipped cream. Gave them 3 chances and they still messed up. Unbelievable and when I tried to call back, no answer. Just goes ringing on and on and on. Going back to Starbucks. I love a place that has friendly staff and gives you a quality product for the money you spend. We stopped in 6/15 at about 9:30pm. There was 5 people/groups in front of us and a good 10 minute wait to order. It was close to closing time but the chick manning the counter was super nice and an overall great type of person to have up front, talking with the customers. Not once did she show that she was tired or sick of customers and their silly drink orders. Our drinks were made perfectly and I was so happy to finally get a great blended coffee. I went in to redeem my promo code that I shared as a new coffee bean customer I downloaded my app and i was excited! I went from Starbucks chai tea to the coffee bean as it tastes much more delicious. And the first time I was there the girl was super nice and helpful. Today the cashier was nice tiny little gale but she wasn't aware of the promo code so she asked the manager who rudely shush me away by saying we don't take any of that. And right away jumped into the cashier register even when I wasn't down ordering. They could explain it a bit better then being rude. Not a good manager she was using a white tshirt and glasses. So, I'm at coaching a Volleyball tournament down the road and we have about an hour break. So, my fellow coach and I decide to look for a quick coffee fix and we find this Coffee Bean. It's a nice little store located across the street from Downey High School. Since it's a hot day today, I thought I'd pick up a large white chocolate ice blend. Let me tell you...it was pretty darn good. In addition, I also got an espresso shot as well to give it a "lil umph". This coffee bean is always a mess.. I've never ever been more disappointed. Today I came in for my regular cold brew with hazelnut and a splash of 1/2 and 1/2 and got charged for the milk when she gave me my price I was literally like whattt!!! I visit the one in long beach or the drive thru on Lakewood atleast 4 times a week and have always been charged $4.25 and today I was charged $5.45 When I asked if I was being charged for milk or what going on she said "yes because it isn't out" ummm idk if it's just me being confused but it really isn't my fault there's a pandemic and it isn't allowed to be out so I don't get why were being charged extra for that Lol and even if that's the case how did I get charged more for my coffee ??? And If I would've just ordered mobile it would've still been $4.25 She continued to give me an attitude soo I reached out to the coffee bean online chat and spoke with a representative who gave me the answer I knew already which was no I shouldn't have been getting charged. When I brought it to the cashiers attention she didn't make it right she just gave me the eyes .. unfortunately I had to visit the petco today which is why I didn't just drive the extra two miles away but this will definitely be the last time I'll be back there.. Love this Coffee Bean location. Sunday nights can get a little packed with laptops, so maybe be prepared to wait a little bit for someone to leave or don't expect a table at around 5-7pm on Sundays...but the rest of the time, there are tables and so many OUTLETS. This is a study-spot-seeker's dream. They only have two armchairs, but that's ok, I've spent many coffee dates here at one of the plain tables and it's good. Outside tables are nice too, although sometimes the traffic going by can be a little loud. I LOVE their gluten-free honey raisin bran muffins and I'm not even gluten-intolerant. And their packaged mini gluten-free strawberry cheesecakes. And the rest of their menu is great too. I like this place more than Starbucks -- it has more variety in drinks and food. When you order a chai latte -- if you're like me and you can't deal with THAT much sugar, ask them to use half the amount of powder in the drink. They do start pulling in their outside tables into the store a bit early at night though, so they have slightly fewer tables at 9pm. hi there, on June 13 around 9:50am, I went to your location on 9516 lakewood blvd in downey CA 90240 and I ordered 2 cookie n cream drinks and one had coffee and the other didnt. the total was $9. When I got my coffee one it began to spill. the lady over flowed the cup and it began to spill on my clothes and some fell on my brand new 2018 truck! i quikcly stuck out the drink and got out of my car and began to drink it. to make matter worse, the drink was not blended well. it had chunks of cookies. the other drink was also not well blended. The cookies would not go through the straw! Honesltly what truly sent me over the edge was that my seat has coffee stains now because someone decided to be lazy and careless. Normally they're ok with their service. But there's been a couple of times where there's been a problem with them closing when they don't have enough staff (pre-Covid) and not opening on time. I wanted to order something with oat milk this morning and noticed they don't have that option on the mobile app anymore for this location the last few times I've ordered. So i went there before my 630am shift and at 615, they were inside but still hadn't opened their doors when the hours are 6am. It says on a messy handwritten paper "mobile orders only" but i couldn't order my drink on the mobile order. They saw me but still didn't open the doors. Another time before work i ordered on their app and when i got there it was closed with another handwritten note saying they were closed and sorry for the inconvenience... they had to refund me a couple of days later. It's not a very reliable place so I'm going to have to grab my coffee before work somewhere else read more

This is by far one of my favorite stores. An employee named Monica made my day. She went above and beyond her job. She makes sure everyone is covered in every way. She throws in those ad-ons, which if you need, you'll highly appreciate. I needed an extra shot of espresso bad and I forgot to ask for it until she offered it. Then she asks for donations for the nearby schools. Best of all, she asks if you're part of the rewards program to make sure you get the points for your purchase. So amazing!
