The service was great. My ginger tea was great. The music was great. The atmosphere/wall art was great. Mellow spot good for catching up on some reading or just casual hang out time with a friend. Came here last week with a friend for food and coffee. Pros: cozy ambience, very friendly staff, it's big, clean and a good place to study or converse Cons: the sandwiches were made on stale bread and with undercooked vegetables while the chicken tasted cold, I ordered a London fog (chai tea with steamed milk) and the steam was too foamy and dry Service was also pretty slow so it took a while to get our food If I came back here, it would just be for a simple cup of tea while I study- but I advise bringing your own food. read more

Surprised by the service, it was honestly amazing for a Holiday the place was so packed but service was very efficient. I decided to try a new syrup flavor in my coffee today thinking I would be adventurous and didn't like it so the barista made me second latte free of charge. The ambiance of this place is really nice and relaxing. I went around 11 a.m and there were plenty of seats. It has a modern feel to it and I love the decor. Now, time to discuss the coffee and service. I had a vanilla soy latte. It was delicious. I also ordered a bagel with cream cheese to stay and actually use the seating. The man attending us was so helpful and brought everything to us after ordering. He didn't ask us to pay after ordering. We enjoyed our lattes and bagels and then paid afterwards (you don't get many places that do that). Whenever I am in the area I will be stopping by. This is a much better/tastier choice than the usual Starbucks/DD. Prices vary but they are on the pricier side for the lattes but I stil think they are worth it. read more

All I can say is WOW! We finally found our Place. We've been seeking a comfortable hangout since Starbucks took over our local spot and Edison's The Coffee House is IT. Delicious, affordable waffles, sandwiches and pastries to go with fantastic coffee and drink options all served by super friendly and "on track" folks. Really comfy upscale layout. Clean and new. They have wifi, which is great. There are plenty of comfortable chairs. Amazing croissant with chocolate and pistachio, out of this world. The reviews are right. This will definitely be my work spot whenever I'm in town visiting my parents! Lots of coffee-drink options, all very well-priced. Iced latte was yummy. Good amount of sandwich offerings also; plus they'll put it on a lettuce and tomato bed if you're minimizing carbs like I'm pretending to. I got the veggie and goat cheese and there was so much cheeeese. Yass. Inside, the AC was a bit chilly (probably my only gripe), but the layout and seats are very comfy. Also there's an outside patio with at least 7 tables... best of all, each has an umbrella--no sun glare on my laptop!! Free wifi. Free parking. One of my favorite coffee places! This coffee spot is very spacious and different options for you to enjoy your snack. There's a lounging area and couches if you're in the mood to just talk to some friends. If you're in the mood to study, there are also tables lined along the side of the wall with outlets. There's also outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer outside. So no matter what you want to do while you're drinking coffee, its accommodating. This was one of the first coffee houses I've been to and I found that it wasn't that "intimidating." I was always scared that coffee places would be filled with "hipsters", but there were lots of different people walking in and out of the place. The owner was really friendly and taught us how The Coffee House worked when we walked in. You order at the counter and a little tag is placed on your table that serves as a "tab." They will bring your coffee/food to the table you're sitting at. I just ordered a simple cafe au lait. Nothing super fancy or out of the ordinary. There's a lot of different kinds of specialized coffees, cappuccinos, teas, hot chocolates, as well as pastries, desserts and sandwiches. At the end, you just bring your tab up to the counter to pay. There's also free wifi and a parking lot! If you're looking for a good place to just hang out for a couple hours, this is a great place! read more

What an amazing experience. Was looking to have a vegan sandwich and they did not have any. The chef made an avocado smash, loaded with veggies on grilled multigrain bread and it was terrific. The staff were very courteous and extremely polite. Will be visiting again soon. read more

I would agree with one poster that the owner Ben did patronize the female barista in front of customers. Not cool. They try to recruit musicians who play for free, and then close their doors on a Friday & Saturday night at 10:00 pm. Really? When asked why? "It's a lot on us he said..." Are you trying to earn money I thought? Ten customers were turned away at 10:05. The ambiance is great for a first date, but fifty cents for a small cookie was robbery. A one inch by one inch cookie. The coffee is good, But I have had a few first dates there. The place is cozy, but they should get a few paid acts thete and charge a five dollar cover. Edison would pay . Local coffee shop I didn't even know existed! I've been here several times and now I'm here weekly. It's a great ambiance for people to gather over some great coffee. They have an extensive coffee menu along with teas, sandwiches and other drinks. They have a small parking lot maybe for ten or so cars on the left side of the store but you can also park on the street. Usually you can order your coffee and sit down either at a table or on the sofa and they will bring you the coffee and leave an open tab. They have some unique tea flavors you can choose from + they have coffee from illy. read more

It's a nice coffee shop but the service and staff was horrible. I came here on a Sunday and we didn't even get a hello, how can I help you? No one bothered to acknowledge us. It took them some time to ask us what we would like and then took them 10 mins to make us our coffee. We were the only two people they had to tend at that point and I had to wait some more after that to get my croissant. They also gave me an iced latte when I asked for hot but I didn't even care, I was so upset by their service I just wanted to get out of there. I'm not a big coffee person so I might not be the right person to review coffee. The space here seems really nice though. I loved their couch seating, great for sober lounging if you didn't want to go to a bar for the night. My favorite part is their fire place. It was really cozy here. My boyfriend and I sat here for a few hours and watched tv while we sipped away on the latte. Great spot for a cold day. I was looking for a coffee shop other than Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts where I can sit and relax and a have sip of a nice espresso shot. And by looking at Yelp this was the first thing came up on the search results so I gave it a try, which was totally worth it. I never believed that I can get a really good coffee in Edison, I am not saying Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts coffee is bad but sometimes you have to take a break from those and give a chance to your local coffee houses too, to see what you are missing. I saved this place a while ago when I moved closer to the area and finally got a chance to stop by. My boyfriend and I tried a few months ago but it was a holiday so they were closed. The vibe is pretty cozy. Plenty of clean and comfortable lounging chairs, a couch, and tables. We came in on a Sunday afternoon to get some work and studying done. There were plenty of people hanging around but there were still plenty of places for us to sit. Music was playing but it was fairly calm music and it wasn't too loud so it wasn't distracting to me since I study without headphones. Each seating area had tabletop menus along with the menu printed on the wall. Easy to follow and fair prices. They also had soy and almond options for lactose intolerant coffee drinks like me. Their food menu wasn't overwhelming but had plenty of options. We came later in the afternoon so many of their bagels and pastries were all gone but that usually means they're good. My boyfriend had their last bagel with cream cheese and tea while I had a nutella filled croissant along with an almond caffe latte. I didn't have my croissant warmed, though given the option, but it had a small amount of nutella inside (I would've liked a little more). My latte was made well though. When I first ordered, there was only one staff member working by herself but she was super friendly and prepared everything very quickly. When I went back up to order a second time, there was a 2nd staff member working so while one staff was preparing one thing, the other staff member was preparing my drink. The bathroom was clean which is always nice! There is also a good amount of outside of patio seating which would be a great place to sit in warm weather. Only one table had an umbrella though so it may get a little uncomfortable on very humid and sunny days. I've read previous reviews of other Yelpers encountering rude staff and bad service. I've only visited once but I didn't encounter any of that. I'd definitely come again! read more

The Coffee House is a much better place to relax with a cup of coffee than anywhere in the town where I am from. They have really nice seating, both indoors and outdoors. It feels European in a way; maybe that is because they have Illy brand coffee. I like how they have wraps and other sandwiches available, but they are not pushed on you. Oftentimes I just want to grab a coffee and enjoy it for 30 minutes in a calm environment without feeling obligated to order food or alcohol. I think too many coffee shops have basically turned into restaurants. This place maintains the coffee shop feel. 4 stars instead of 5 because they do not roast their own. read more

The owner I believe his name is Mike is off putting to me. If his workers mess up an order or anything for that matter he isn't very nice to the worker and as the customer it feels as if he puts on a customer service front. I know one of the workers personally and they tell me that he is rude and will often ignore them. It's sad because I do frequent this coffee shop a lot and was sad to witness this as well as hear personal stories to confirm. I hope he changes the way he treats his workers or else I don't see myself returning. read more
