As we paid for the smoothie, the rude manager just took the money and kept his head down, no eye contact, no thank you for your patronage, no smile. I have not been to Rehoboth in a few years but it pleases me no end to order coffee from The Coffee Mill. I enjoy flavored coffees particularly and the Coffee Mill has a wide selection. In the summer I love making big pitchers of iced coffee with a nice dark roast mixed with the Mill's Chocolate Thunder. I appreciate supporting small business. I enjoy thinking about Shop's delightful, relaxed setting as I drink. Plus, opening the mail makes the house smell great. My boyfriend and I stayed in Rehoboth this past weekend and I'm all about supporting local shops in town, especially local seasonal shops, opposed to the big corporate places (here's looking at you Starbucks, which was available as well...). I know we probably stood out like sore-thumbs as tourist and probably have 'NYC tourists' written across our foreheads but always expect the same kind of respect, reciprocated. Day 1. We walked in to The Coffee Mill and were greeted by a very happy, young and lovely gentleman who was overwhelmed, yet welcomed the busy crowd and was very accommodating. Our orders were correct, prompt and delicious! Day 2. An older, rather bothered, not nearly as jolly or lively gentleman takes my order, but whatever, didn't effect me at all. I place the same order as the previous day; 'a small frozen vanilla latte, light on the vanilla syrup or powder- whichever, just not too sweet please'. He calls the order in and tells me "that'll be five and a half" Now... The menu clearly states: Frozen Vanilla or caramel latte's $4.50 small $5.50 large. (Please refer to picture I've included) I confirm that it's a 'small' and question if it should be $4.50. He says, "no no it's $5.50". I point to the menu written on the huge chalkboard above and behind him, and explain that it clearly says $4.50. He mumbles something that makes absolutely NO SENSE about charging extra for the vanilla. Funny, bc the menu not only says "frozen VANILLA latte", but I actually asked for less of it. The place is extremely cramped inside and pretty crowded. I suck it up and figured my pride and time were worth more than the $1 he was hustling me for, but just wait until you come to my hometown and get hustled $25 for a dirty water dog! I was so extremely insulted over the fact that he hustled me. The remainder of our stay and from here forward, we will only visit Cafe A 'Go Go again, another great place with great food, but HONEST and not insulting! read more

A cool little independent coffee shop tucked away in one of the alleys on the north side of Rehoboth Avenue. Many coffees to choose from, and lots of fresh baked goods to go along with your cup o'joe. I had a decaf iced coffee on my last visit that was surprisingly good - we all know how decaf can be, but with good beans and a good roast, you get really nice flavor. The alleyway has lots of little shaded tables along its length, perfect for a little respite from the sun, along with some good people-watching. read more

I had a terrible experience here! After paying $22 for a breakfast sandwich and two "smoothie cleansers" the owner called me back up to charge me an extra $4 for ham that I substituted due to an egg allergy. When I mentioned my allergy he said "doesn't matter I still have to charge you." We waited over 10 minutes for the smoothies after which we were told to wait outside for the sandwich. The smoothies were so watery and tasted terrible! When the sandwich was finally ready I mentioned that the smoothies weren't satisfactory and nowhere near smoothie consistency. I asked if they would be willing to re-make or refund. The owner proceeded to tell me that "that's what a cleanser is, do you even know what a cleanser is?" When I mentioned that I did in fact know the difference between a juice cleanser and a smoothie and pointed out that the drink was called a "smoothie" cleanser he told me "if you wanted something thicker you should have ordered something with a banana or strawberries in it." They refused to remake it or accommodate in any way! On my way out the owner sarcastically yelled "next time you come in maybe you should try a smoothie!" Anyone who enjoys coffee will love this place. The wonderful aroma of coffee when you walk in will quickly get you in line for a cup! They offer different brewed flavors every day. We ordered coffee and beans to make at home, really good coffee. Only a few tables but there's seating outside also. My complaint is their shipping process. I went out on the first morning of my vacation excited to try some of the coffee shops in Rehoboth for my caffeine fix. The Coffee Mill wasn't far from where I was staying and seemed to be a nice local place, so I stopped in. From first impressions, the shop is cute and clean. The menu is a bit overwhelming, and located in several different places, so it's hard to know if you're seeing everything. When I stepped up to the counter to order, the man who was behind it, as others have said, didn't seem excited to help and was brusque. I've had those days at my job as well, so I wasn't necessarily going to hold it against him. I ordered a small toffee iced latte with skim milk and a small regular hot coffee. The latte was quite expensive, but it is the beach, and to be fair it was 20 oz. The main problem I had with the place, and the biggest reason for my 2-star rating, is that what I received was not an iced latte. I'm a barista so I know the difference between the drinks, and the customer should not have to add their own milk to a latte. I'm fairly sure it was just iced coffee with flavoring and ice. If I had wanted iced coffee, that's what I would have ordered. It tasted fine but it was not what I was expecting, and that's why I don't recommend the Coffee Mill for anything other than perhaps hot or iced coffee. read more

I just got a cold brew with one pump of flavor, and this guy, who has been very rude up to this point, pours at least 4oz of flavor into my only maybe 10oz cup. First my drink tasted awful, all I got was syrup in the first sip and this strange black pepper taste. I've been a huge fan of this place for years... and it seems to just get better and better (including the remodel last year). Its the only place in town that I can go have a great cup of coffee, have a snack, listen to acoustic music, and bring my dog - and sit outside. I've been here twice in about a weeks time. Visiting from NJ I was there on a nice, sunny, but chilly, Saturday. The place was buzzing with folks and the older gentleman at the counter was talkative and super friendly. We ordered two teas and a blueberry scone. We sat outside to listen to the acoustic entertainment while we sipped. The tea was nice - but how can you mess up a teabag and hot water!? The scone - well, lets just say we now refer to this as "the incident with the stone". It was so hard that we took turned trying to break it against the metal table edge!!! Yuck! lol Second time was with my daughter and it was a quiet, drizzly, Weds. We needed warming up. There was no one there, just one younger man who was on the phone at one of the blocked off, inside, tables. He seemed perturbed we bothered him. We ordered two chai lattes. They were very good but the entire time he made them he was on speaker phone with a credit card compnay kind of yelling - it was not comfortable - so we looked around - you know, like you do when you don't want to show you can hear but obviously can! lol The place needs a very serious scrubbing down - so cute, but wow - clean it up before summer hits!! read more

The coffee is delicious (that's coming from a barista of many years), the food is a delectable little snack (not a meal so don't expect to fill up), and the staff is direct and efficient. The strong scent of flavored coffees foreshadows the menu. On a recent afternoon, they were out of croissants, so I tried a breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg, cheese) on a bagel. It was reasonably executed, but begged for the option of hot sauce, pepper, salsa, or something to add some flavor dimension. Espresso was unfortunately harsh, without the smoothness that comes from an experienced barista's touch. The pastries were so-so. All in all, a nice spot to linger and "good enough" by beach standards, but pretty average otherwise. If it didn't have the outdoor seating, I'd have dropped my rating to 3 stars. read more

Coffee was served warm but not hot like it had been sitting for hours. Creamer was in a Costco sized container with a small plastic spoon at the bottom. Untold number of hands have been digging around that creamer, not sanitary during a pandemic. Wife had a bagel with cream cheese with a very generous helping of cream cheese. I don't drink coffee, but this is an excellent place for breakfast. Pastries, cider, and a nice seating area outdoors (couple of tables indoors as well). Gentleman said Splenda and half and half are behind me and hands me a coffee. I pay - and tip 20% because people are still hurting after Covid. I take my coffee to add Splenda and half and half and there no half and half. Gentlemen says "what's there is all we have". Coffee mate, like the powder kind you spoon into your coffee WTH? Why not say that before you sell me something you don't have? Moreover, who sells coffee as their main product without the additions that coffee drinkers typically request? I live locally and this is hands down the worst coffee experience I've had. I left the cup of coffee on the counter. Keep my money, dude. You'll need it more than I do if this is the kind of business you run. read more
