We were in line today when a customer ahead of us made a very reasonable request to have her personal cup filled instead of using a plastic cup. Not only would the man behind the counter not fill her request he also started to yell at her saying "I don't care about environmental impact I have a line, you can leave" shocked at the fact that he would talk to a customer make such a simple request in that way I decided to leave and take my business somewhere else. Upon realizing people were leaving because of how he was speaking to his customers he said to us "bye have a nice life" Whether or not their coffee is any good I would never give my money to a business that cares so little for the people it's serving. read more

To validate the other reviews concerning the cruel owner... they are spot on and I would encourage future customers to go elsewhere for their caffeine fix. I spoke up to notify him that he was making drinks out of order in which they were placed and that customers 3 spots behind me were getting their drinks (same things I ordered) before me and he completely lashed out at me. Yelling that he is the owner and this is how it works. There was such anger and ugliness pouring from him. I've been going to the CM for 20 years and even spent 2 summers working there when it was under the previous ownership. It's so sad that I will never step foot in there again. This cafe is located at the Mews and has indoor and outdoor seating. They have a large variety of coffees, and I think you can buy a bag of their ground coffees if you find a favorite. We had a mocha frappuccino and honey ginger green tea. Both were really good. It took a while for the owner to greet us, but he was busy doing something to the cash register, so it was understandable. The baristas were nice. Just wanted to post a thank you to the nasty man who owns this place. Had he not be such a rude buffoon we would have forgotten about Kaisy's and Robin Hood. Had great breakfasts at both places. Thursday at Kaisy's--they have homemade compote and it is excellent. Friday morning at Robin Hood, an outstanding old-style diner with amazing breakfasts! Will never, ever walk into the Coffee Mill again. We've had quick bites there over the years. In my 62 years I've never been treated as badly I was this past Thursday morning--anywhere, anytime. I sincerely hope this is read and people stay away from here. Otherwise he'll be like a cockroach. Here long after we're all gone. The Coffee Mill is tucked into an alleyway, so don't miss it! They offer a variety of baked goods, café fare, coffee beverages, and coffee beans. So much to choose from! Thankfully the staff is v accommodating in helping you find something you'll enjoy. The first drink I had was the mocha zip frappe. It's a blended mocha drink with *ground, chocolate covered espresso beans*, mercy! The flavor was a bit watered down tasting, but still tasty. The espresso beans were a nice touch. My friend had a snickerdoodle iced coffee which was very flavorful. This morning my friend had another snickerdoodle iced coffee (this time in a large) and a blueberry muffin. I had a large iced midnight sun coffee and a blueberry crumb cake slice. Everything we had was amazing. The muffin and crumb cake were both creamy and rich. Much better than the typically dry baked goods you'd find at Starbucks. My iced coffee had an amazing but not overwhelming chocolate taste, it did not outshine the classic taste of coffee. I think it would have had a crisper taste with more ice added but I still enjoyed it. The staff, specifically Mel and Robert (the owners?) are great. Both were very kind and helpful. Not only is the coffee good with many options, But sitting outside in the lovely setting so enjoyable. Mingling with locals and visitors is always a joy. We are residents and enjoy it year round. Small business rule #1 Don't be a jerk to customers. Being a jerk can be an asset when running a business. Negotiating contracts, pricing and managing people can sometimes benefit. Unfortunately customers can smell a jerk. In the case of this place they can also hear him. I have been a casual customer here over the years. This guy is friendly one day and rude the next. He is always barking at his help. Then he smiles across the counter for the next order. Coffee is good and the pastry cart is filled with goodies. But this quality can be found elsewhere in Rehoboth. The line often extends out the door. When this happens someone always barks to close the door. Good problem to have? Finally, I will post a photo of what makes this a special kind of jerk. As you order they have sample cups stacked so you can see the sizes - small med and large. Each cup has a note with the ounce limit. Apparently they have trouble with people touching the cups. So they have more sticky notes asking not to lift the cups. Is that such a problem that you need all that signage?? Or are you just an impatient jerk?
