Tried out Twisted Grove last night and was not disappointed. While it was a little louder than our preference, our waitress was extremely friendly and made helpful recommendations. We ended up sharing an order of bruschetta and the twisted noodle salad, and it was the perfect amount for two people. The bruschetta with avocado was delicious, as was the one with goat cheese. Neither of us really liked the one with burrata and tomato jam (which is what the missing one star is for) and found it overly salty and the flavors not well balanced. The twisted noodle salad had a good balance of ingredients and the dressing was light with a little spicy kick. We had steak in our salad and it was cooked to our preference and very tender. First, I have to say that I think the reviews for Twisted, should be deleted from this thread. It is not the same place . Just my opinion. Lets start from scratch with the Collins. We had not been here until this last Friday. Went in for Happy Hour. Grabbed a table in the bar. It was quite busy . Service was great! We ended up switching tables when someone finished. Staff was helpful to accommodate. Food was good! Drinks Good! My only complaint and reason for not giving a 5 star review is the noise level! Yikes ! It is sooooo loud in there you can't really talk to the person next to you without screaming. The design team did a great job with finishes and the feel, but something really should be done to "cushion" the noise! I'm a fan of sitting in bars, but I know things can be done to alleviate the high volume! read more

First time. Met up with an old buddy of mine that was in the area for a meeting. We both needed to unwind after a crazy week. Twisted Grove was perfect! Our mixologist Brian was attentive and made some phenomenal cocktails. La Paloma was my favorite, citrusy sweet with reposada taquilla. The interior was clean and not to modern with natural lighting, chill atmosphere with a great outside patio. Haven't eaten here yet but that will be my next order of business. We visited The Collins on a Saturday night and arrived just before happy hour ended. Fortunately we got an order in, having the gin, vodka, and oysters. The cocktails were really impressive. Oysters were great too. The Cesar salads are really good too. The meal only got better with the arrival of the prime rib and seared Ahi Tuna. Caleb recommended some great wine pairings that's were spot on. Overall impressive of The Collins is definitely high. A must try. The food and service were superb. This place is so delicious! We found it by accident but we've been going here on our date nights quite regularly. This place is absolutely legit. Everything is so full of flavor and delicious. First picture was the Croque Madame and hash browns off of the weekend brunch menu. Great time for the family birthday. We love Brussels sprouts but not all of us eat bacon. They put bacon on the side and it was great. Beef sandwich was also well received. As were the fries. My grouper sandwich was good and the beet salad also solid. Love to see beets on the menu read more

Found this place last minute on Yelp and we're happy we did! Very cute atmosphere and decor. Great for a casual dinner or drinks with friends. For a party of 6 we ordered a bunch of dishes to share: charred brussel sprouts salmon poke bruschetta board (marcarpone, ricotta, avocado) crab cakes sunny cobb salad cavatelli carbonara wild mushroom pappardelle We also ordered 2 french onion soups to share. The portions were fairly large and all delicious!! We were pretty full and maybe could have done without the bruschetta. The wait staff was friendly and checked up on us a few times. One thing I have to say is that although we did say whatever is ready can come first (vs soup/appetizers first and then entrees), the restaurant should take a look at the what we already have on the table and serve the dishes accordingly. There was absolutely no space on our table for anything and the dishes just kept on coming. It was a little comical, especially since the plating they use for dishes is huge. The carmelized onion dip is delicious. So were the golden beets, wow! We also enjoyed the ginger vodka drink. I'm not that crazy about their fries, but with so many unique offerings that are exceptional it makes no difference in my rating. I'm glad I was lucky enough to come across this gem, for dinner with a friend. The drink menu and food offerings were pretty diverse and plentiful for these COVID times. They gracefully practiced physical distancing and all wore masks. Shawn, our waiter, made excellent recommendations and even comped our beet appetizer and award-winning coconut cream pie, just because he knew it was our first visit. My crab cakes were simple and delicious, and the micro shoestring truffle fries and light coleslaw that accompanied them were perfect!! My friend's mushroom lasagna looked like cheesy comfort and was complemented by an arugula and heirloom tomato salad that had her moaning. Lol. I cannot wait to return! read more

I've been here 3 times and each time have had fantastic experiences! I would highly recommend the Brussel sprout appetizer- it's phenomenal! The crab cakes are amazing with pure, fresh, delightful crabmeat. I have ordered this 2 out of the 3 times! I have mine with a side of spaghetti squash since I'm allergic to tomatoes. The frites are super good, too! The 3rd time, I ordered the special - a lobster bisque risotto, which was good, but they had to leave off one of the sauces due to my allergy. I think it would have been better with, but that's not their fault, obviously. The desserts are incredible- I've had the Tres Leches cake and the pecan pie cheesecake, which I liked better. We won't be coming back. Mediocre, overpriced food and a misleading menu. We ordered off the "seasonal" menu only to be charged a higher price than was listed. Upon questioning this we were told it was a happy hour menu, not a seasonal menu. Apparently there was a small disclaimer on the bottom of the page explaining that the prices listed are only valid during certain hours. No apologies or accommodations were made. Shocking. At least you can help yourself to free firewood on your way out, which I suppose helps some to offset being overcharged. read more

I've been coming here since it opened since I live across the street and can walk. Have always liked the food. Went there this evening at 5. Dining room 90% empty and the bar area packed. Asked to sit in dining room because I was with my 4 year old. Booked and can't fit us in and tried to sit us in bar. When I asked to sit in the empty dining room the hostess said no. Then asked if I would like to order carry out. When I tried to speak with a manager I was just transferred around and never saw one. Came in for a work lunch a few weeks ago, with four of us total. We hadn't been here since it was Twisted Grove, but gave it a try since we heard it was the same owners and TG was delicious. This restaurant is really turning out to be a winner. The menu is diverse enough to warrant repeat visits weekly. The food is excellent and the staff is likewise extremely accommodating. I wanted to love this place but I have to say the food was pricy which is fine if it was worth the price. I had the ceaser salad with shrimp. The lettuce was wilted and the shrimp was cold and seemed like that cooked them earlier in the day and kept them in the fridge. I also had the burrata, nothing exciting happening there. My son had the club which seemed like a club you would get a Denny's. There was an interesting smell when we entered but I got use to it after a while. They had a great wine list and the prices on the wine was in line. My bill was $75 which seems a lot for the quality of food. I will give them another chance because they just opened and they had some great option on the menu. Maybe I just didn't order their popular items. More than likely I will go for drinks and maybe appetizers but not a full dinner. read more

Truly some of the best food we've had in Phoenix. Unfortunately, it was also among the slowest service at this caliber of restaurant we've had in the area. We had a 5:30 reservation and got sat promptly, but that's where the positives ended. We finished our appetizer before being offered waters, waited around 15 minutes for bread to go along with our lasagna, etc...just a little disappointing for the vibe of this place. Besides the initial food runner (?) that came to take our drink order at the beginning, our table was touched 3 times in our 1.5 hour stay. My fiancé and I have been frequents, I mean frequent patrons of this restaurant. We love the unique menu, the location, the quality of the food the ambiance. Today at brunch was a different story. I ordered a custom omelette and I ordered the children's portion of the French toast, being I could not eat a full, regular order here. I've ordered this combination for the past few weeks. I was told by a previous bar tender to indeed, order the children's option if you don't have the appetite for the regular order. So, it works out great. This afternoon my waitress mentioned that they stopped the children's portion for anyone over 12 years old. Fair, I understand if you were ONLY ordering this as your main entree or dish. This NOT being the case here. So, a "general manager", named Jason came aggressively to our table with this smug, better then thou attitude basically, telling us that this is strictly enforced that as an adult, you cannot order off the children's menu. He was rude and talked down to us and left with a complete, unprofessional attitude. The restaurant was dead, perhaps three patrons in the bar area. You lost a sale as well as loosing our business for good. Hope it was worth the strictly enforced policy and future business and recommendations to my clients, friends and family. 20 restaurants within the 2 mile radius that would love to take care of their guests. Came on a family trip to Scottsdale, and were seated quickly after being turned away from numerous other "restaurants". We should have put this restaurant first on our list. First, we ordered Sourdough Bread and brussel sprouts as starters, both are a must. For entrees we tried a wide variety of items, and everyone LOVED their food. The Salads with the Filet were a hit, and the pizzas were true wood fired. Excellent. Also great service and atmosphere. Kids and Grandparents feel welcome, they have pop, jazz, and classic rock music for all to enjoy. We will definitely return. read more

Awkward start, however, considering the plentiful parking is behind the restaurant, but then you have to walk through a side door into a bar space to the opposite side of the restaurant to get to the hostess stand. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer with candied bacon and fried garlic to start and OH MY GOD so good. I had the rotisserie chicken entree and my fiancé had the lobster roll, both were excellent, though the side fries were just fine. Ate here for the first time during their brunch hours. My friend and I were both impressed with the quality of the food we ordered. I had a short rib hash with two really nice, round poached eggs. My friend got the "Eggs in Purgatory," which is grilled cheese with short rib in a tomato soup/sauce with an egg on top. The sauce was delicious. They use fresh tomatoes to make it. We also liked the charred brussel sprouts with candied bacon. I even like the presentation of it spilling out of a jar on a wooden board. Plus, the patio was dog-friendly. Bonus! Just wish there were some umbrellas or something for the front and back patios. Anyway, look forward to trying dinner there. read more

This was not good food. The night started out with their fresh squeezed lemonade. I'm not sure if the lemons were bad or if they just didn't add sugar, but it nearly burned my throat drinking it. I had to send it back, and I never send anything back, because it was completely un-drinkable. We ordered the spinach dip and both felt that it was extremely heavy on the salt and the chips came covered in raw onion, red pepper, and sour cream. A matter of preference here but the dip should have been able to stand by itself without the weird nacho thing they tried to do on the side. The gnocchi was my main course and it didn't get any better. It was a strange mix of bitter confetti Italian squash, mushroom cream, and badly cooked gnocchi. Gnocchi is one of my favorite dishes and this was more or less inedible. I will say that the service was extremely friendly and nice. It's too bad the food couldn't live up to this place's hype. read more

We popped in here for a little happy hour drink yesterday. The ambiance is classy comfortable. It was mainly a female crowd with two bartenders. The bartender was very attentive, but didn't overdo it. The bar seating is a little strange with diner style seats, but they swivel so it works. We took advantage of their hh food menu and ordered a bruschetta board and chicken. It was delicious! And the wine pours were generous. I would definitely come back here. read more

If your at a snails pace, this is the place to go. Friendly staff, but seem to be a bit off their game. I asked two different servers for lemon for my water and a straw. I never got the lemon, and the straw was brought with bare hands and placed in my glass for me. How nice is that? Our server put our food order in before taking our drink order. Better late than never. If you like bubbly that tastes like bad beer, by all means order the sparkling wine. Our check was wrong as we were charged for the wrong items. Randomly found The Collins on Yelp one Friday night and booked on open table. We showed up a little early and said it would be a wait for our table. No big deal. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple drinks. The drinks were great and bartenders were very quick to serve. We decided to dine at the bar and we ordered the oysters on the half shell and the French onion dip to start. Both were great and the oysters were some of the freshest I have had in Arizona. We both were not to hungry after the appetizers so we decided to share a Pizza. OMG!!! The pizza was fantastic! I was so surprised as did not expect such a good pizza. I highly recommend this place! My husband and I frequently dine at The Collins, the food is amazing! I'm giving two stars because the last two times we've been in, the service has been horrible. We had a server a month ago that claimed she was new, this is why she was NOT attentive. Fast forward to today, same server ( I took a friend to celebrate her BIG birthday). Server brought us water and one of us ordered a glass of wine. She comes back 5 minutes later and asks if we'd like something to drink besides water. Yes, we ordered already. She apologized and said she was new, this is the excuse my husband and I got a month ago. She finally brings the glass of wine and I decided to have one as well, this was a challenge. I asked for a Pinot Grigio, she wasn't sure if they had that, are you kidding me. Then she said again, sorry I don't know the menu as I'm new. This was extremely frustrating as it takes time to get her attention. We had to flag her down and ask about our food as we ordered 25 minutes prior (salads). We never saw her again. We then flagged another server to refill our water. Same server, same issues. I will go back because the food is great. However, if she's working, I will ask to be moved from her section. On a positive note, the hostess was super nice and asked if we we're celebrating anything. I said yes, turning 50 and 70. She responded with, 'oh wow, I'll add that to your card'! With that comment, I assumed our server would acknowledge the celebration...nothing. read more

I love this place. We stumbled upon it a few months ago for dinner. The atmosphere is great and the cocktails are delicious. It is also a very good brunch place.
