The service was awful, entitled attitudes at every stop. The drinks were overpriced and watered down, and to make it worse, they automatically added 20% to the tab once it went over $100, then handed over the payment machine with another 15% tip already selected hoping you don't catch it. We loved it. We came there to see my favourite comedian. That crazy German guy, Mario Adrion. We've never been to this place. First, we were looking for some parking, and since it was on a Wednesday, we decided to park somewhere nearby on the street before having to pay for parking. We were lucky to find parking not too far on a side street. When we got to the place, two guys, very friendly, checked our tickets and scanned us for ( I guess weapons, with one of those body scanners), and let us in to the front patio where there is plenty of seating and a bar. We waited there for a while until about 8:15 pm, and then slowly went back towards the area where you go up to the so-called " Belly dance room". That was where Mario performed. We waited there until 8:30, and there was a very nice and friendly guy sitting at a small table, and there we showed him our tickets when it was time to let us in. We had to put our cellphones into one of those security bags that we could take with us. But those were locked, and we had no access to our phones while the show was going on. When we left they opened the bags for us to retrieve our phones. We were led by another friendly employee up some stairs into the showroom, and as lucky as we were, we were seated right by the stage. It was a relatively small showroom. But that made it even more cozy, and as it turned out, sitting at the front by the stage made you an easier target for jokes by Mario. LOL A sweet waitress came by and asked us what we liked to drink. There was a 2-drink minimum. That was okay. The show was packed, and, of course, it was fantastic. My spouse and I had a wonderful and fun night, and we laughed so hard. And the service you get from the staff of the Comedy Store is truly great. read more

We went there to celebrate a birthday with a party of 7. The venue is very nice and surprisingly intimate. Good bathrooms. The main room is a bit tightly packed but not bad. The drinks (minimum of 2 per person, alcoholic or not) were very good and well made/strong which makes the comedy even funnier! We saw Howie Mandel, Arsenio and four or five others. Don Barris is gross, needs to come up with new jokes not about harassing women. They said no heckling, but it seemed one couple in the audience was running the show. Service was slow, at the end the workers were heckling the comedians. Made us feel extremely uncomfortable and violated. I had an amazing time at the Funny Girls show. Great line up with Jenn Sterger headlining. All the ladies were hilarious and what a great intimate room for some laughs. I enjoyed supporting these women comics! Two drink minimum and it can be two Diet Cokes which came to $10. There is a $5 parking lot just past Katana that I will use next time instead of spending $20 so keep a look out for it so you can have great entertainment for a small amount on the Sunset strip! read more

He was rolling strong with the jokes and was on point. We also had another bonus which was Nico Santos. Yes, he was in Guardians of the Galaxy and Crazy Rich Asians but his stand up was funny and had us laughing. He was down to earth and my better half was able to grab a pic with him. I purchased 2 tickets to the Frankie Quiñones show for May 15th, the show was canceled then rescheduled to May 26th. I got an email offering a refund if the rescheduling doesn't work for me, I replied that I'll take the refund as I'm not in town on the 26th. I never heard back- then when I reached out about my refund, they said no refunds on tickets. The complete denial of accountability is unacceptable. Bad business practice- I do not recommend giving this place your money because they might just cancel your show and not give your money back. read more

One of the most iconic comedy clubs in the country. A lot of big names have started and have come out of this club. One of the few clubs that offers comedy 7 days a week with multiple shows each night. There is a food and drink menu and there is a two drink minimum purchase. A pretty basic food menu with your standard options. I would plan on getting dinner before your show. The show that we saw had 20 plus comedians and they all had about two minutes each for their act. Majority of the comedians were ok and seemed like they were just starting out. The show just seemed to drag on for to long. They also didn't have a lot of wait staff. This is still one of the best spot to see comedy though and highly recommend going if you are in LA. read more

This was the best time. We came for the Friday show at 10 PM and the lineup was stacked - Ali Wong and Leslie Jones stopped in for surprise performances which was unreal. Marc Maron and the other comedians who were slated to perform were also hilarious. Tickets are $30 and then there's a two drink min. Pretty standard for a comedy club. The house well drinks aren't great (also pretty standard for a comedy club) so I suggest sticking to wine or beer. Crowd control was also pretty rough. We waited on a super long line to get in, and it seems like there was a lot of confusion around checking people in and finding their tickets and seats. This felt surprising because they are a pretty established comedy club! Overall this is an awesome place to catch a stand up show, and it's absolutely worth the visit. I used to really enjoy The Comedy Store and thought it was a place that cared about its reputation. But at the last show I went to, a russian comedian opened her set by saying: "I'm unhappy about how Ukraine treats us. I'm Russian, we're used to bombing." This is not comedy--it's mocking people being killed in real life. If she wants to make jokes, she could talk about her own dictator instead. And from what I've heard, this isn't the first time she's performed there. This place was ok, crowded but the comedians were great. The service was not that great. But overall had a great time and would even go back for the right comics. But be careful with your debit cards. I put mine to hold but at the end my friend has paid for our tab. I check my bank account a couple days later like I always do and sure enough there were 3x charges for the same amount .. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience watching Martin Amini and friends at The Comedy Store in the main room. The special guest, Leslie Jones, was absolutely legendary and I am so thankful to have been able to see her perform as the special guest of the night. I wasn't sure what to expect from my first comedy show, but I was laughing all night and the transition between each comedian was seamless. The comedians were hilarious and the crowd energy was super fun. I highly recommend lining up early if you want good seats because you will be seated based on the order of arrival. I got in line roughly 45 minutes before the start time, and we were seated roughly in the fourth row in front of the stage for reference. The Comedy Store does have a two drink minimum policy per person. Non-alcoholic drinks are included but they're not found on the menu, just ask your server. They did not serve food in the main room for their 10:30pm show, not sure if this is the case in the other rooms. Parking was really hard to come by despite it being a Tuesday night at 9:30pm. There are several lots and structures for parking, but many of them were full. Expect to park and walk if you arrive closer to the start time. Overall I really liked how fun and professional this venue was. I look forward to attending more events here in the future! read more

My first experience at the Comedy Store, all I have to say is go extremely early. Show was supposed to start at 930 and I think it started at 11 due to people still standing outside in line. I was there for Marcello Hernandez and he is a huge comic right now so I get it but omg it was so unorganized. Don't expect to get your drinks for 45 mins to a hour. One server had a section of 100 people .. how do I know that ? I asked her. She would take 20 orders at a time and disappear to go and run them. I had to order my 2 drink minimum right away. I always talk about this comedy club and what an amazingly hilarious time it always is. It was over a decade ago, but I remember my first time as if it was yesterday. I got to see so many iconic comedians. It was one of those Friday evenings without a real lineup, and just comic after comic for 20 minutes each. We stayed there 'til almost closing, but the time flew! That night I got to see Dane Cook, Marc Maron, Chris D'lia, Bobby Lee, Whitney Cummings, and a dozen others. Whitney became my favorite after that experience. She's the only comedian I follow, and while she went through a strange time for a couple years starting in 2020, she's back baby! And with an actual baby this time...HA HA! Yeah she's pregnant now. I was able to get tickets for this weekends sold out special taping here at the Comedy Store, and she killed it! Now just one thing to keep in mind while visiting this club, or any comedy led event...um...don't be annoying. There's 3 other adjectives I wanna use, but I'm gonna refrain from that kind of language just for this review. LOL! But seriously...all comedians have one job, and that's to make you laugh, by making fun of evvvvverything. So if you can't take it, and you get offended easily, a comedy club is just not for you. But if you're a mature, to semi-mature adult who can take a joke, even if it's about you, then this is the place to be! read more

Terrible experience. On Valentine's Day we were told there was lots of availability and asked to sit 1 and 1/2 hours for the show then get in line to buy tickets. The Comedy Store is one of the best homes for comedy around. I really enjoyed seeing a headlining show here earlier this week. Tickets were reasonably priced, and there are even pop-ins from legends here and there. The decor and ambiance is perfect, and the service was also spot-on. I really like the neon lights illuminating the artwork on the walls. Getting in and out of the venue was seamless, and this club does a great job of paying homage to its roots. Parking nearby can be challenging, I would recommend going on SpotHero for lower priced parking or catching a ride to the club if you can. The two-drink minimum (present in most other comedy clubs) is prevalent and there is no skirting by it. Kind of a bummer that food purchases don't count towards the final amount. Also - definitely not a dealbreaker for me, but the shows have the Yondr sleeves for restricting phone access for shows. Absolutely a necessary evil at the club. If you are visiting Hollywood and are a comedy fan, this is a really cool place to check out! read more

We went to a comedy show at this club on Sunday January 18. It was my husband, adult daughter and myself. The rest of the show had funny comedians and we were entertained. The last comedian Don Baris was so personally filthy and insulting to myself and my daughter. He never started with any humor and never had any humor in his performance. He went on and on about crude sexual acts that my husband might do as well as crude things he would want to do to our daughters mom ( me). I was so throughly disgusted that we got up and walked out at which point he started heckling us. I thought the management should have stepped in and stopped his nasty behavior. I have developed fond memories of this place because of the comics, and yearly tradition we've made to go and spend my husbands bday around LA (we plan to go to more!) I follow @thecomedystore on Instagram so i keep up with the lineup, but both fortunately and unfortunately it's bound to change just because of availability. It is great to purchase online, and you'll see they have different lineups for the different rooms. We have been in the "u" around the stage and outside, and they are both great seats where you can see the comics people perform. Sometimes you can upgrade to the U as long as there is availability. There is a 2 drink minimum, and it does not have to be alcohol, but the prices are expected in a downtown city not to mention Hollywood area. They do not offer food unfortunately, which would be nice. It's nice to see how chill the comedy store is. The famous comics about to perform may be hanging out in the audience or by the bathrooms like it's no big deal, while I'm fan girling like crazy! Nice places to take photos by the comics' names and photos. However, no phones or cameras during the shows! My fav will always be Bobby Lee, who always gives a great show! read more

Had VIP tickets and it was a bit chaotic outfront getting in . I was wrongfully instructed by the outside usher people to wait in the GA line that was pretty long. If you are looking for something fun to do in West Hollywood come here!! This is a famous comedy club known for having the most famous comedians perform and work here!! We typically love coming on Sundays for the potluck mystery headliners show that's hosted in the original room. They do half off drinks from 5-6pm which is a great deal! We saw Robbie Hoffman and a ton of really great comedians! The service throughout the show is also top notch and the food is really good! I highly recommend the pizza. read more

Close seating is to be expected in a comedy club, but during Covid with everyone with masks off... well, pretty sure we inadvertently attended an unsafe event. Sad about that because we have been SO SAFE and their advertised safety measures were not reenforced. Even one of the comedians commented on it. :( Overall, fun... but maybe wait until they reenforce Covid protocols. Should be coming soon as I am sure most of their staff has been exposed. Absolutely ridiculous. I've been going to this club for about 30 years. Whenever I'm in LA I would catch a show. Which is often.. The last few times have just gotten progressively worse. Last night being the final straw. The prices get higher and the drinks get weaker.. You're basically paying for mixer in a very small glass. The comedians are great and this review isn't about them it's about how bad this club has gotten over the years to the point I'll never go back. I don't like being ripped off. When I order a drink I expect to pay for the drink that I ordered. That being said I don't like Gray Goose so I ordered a well cocktail. Now mind you the drinks are so weak it doesn't really matter because you can't taste the alcohol but I also don't want to be paying $20 for a cocktail when I ordered a $15 cocktail. I was very specific with my order when I asked for just a well vodka press. But yet when it came to pay.. the numbers didn't add up. So I asked for a check because they don't even give you one anymore, they bring you the little handheld credit card machine that is already set up on ADD gratuity. After finally getting a printed copy of my check, of course they charged me for Gray Goose which again I do not like and did not order. Trying to find someone to resolve the situation was not even worth my time so I ended up leaving. If you're going to go to this club I highly recommend you don't waste your money on a cocktail. You have to order two beverages so just order a couple bottles of water and save your money for a real bar.. or just order a Sprite and pay the Sprite price since that's what you're basically getting when you order a cocktail anyways.. A huge difference from the review I left in 2018 which just goes to show how bad it's gotten read more

Did this as a last minute thing and definitely had a great time! We went on a random Tuesday night. GA tix were sold out so bought "VIP" seating tickets which is an extra $50 for two people. Also there's a 2 drink minimum so also be expected to budget for 2 drinks each person. Me and the bf were seated right in the front which was awesome but also we shouldn't have been surprised to be apart of some jokes in a few performers sets LOL (I'd recommend GA if you don't want that to happen). Good lineup in the "Original Room". Some who have had experience and been in the industry for YEARS and also some newbies- it's kind of a mixed bag. But definitely won't see anybody bomb, I'd like to assume the venue is pretty exclusive who may be "earned" time to perform. Also I guess if they end early they let their own employees perform at the end which is nice- lots of talented, aspiring comedians trying to work their way up. Also keep in mind the lineup is subject to change day of which is a bummer. I was looking forward to see Bobby Lee who was headlining for the day I bought tickets. First time here this weekend in The Main Room & was not impressed. Maybe we had a bad lineup, but out of the 7-8 comedians, only a couple were funny. And even the funny ones got maybe a chuckle out of me, not serious laughter. Maybe that's normal for The Comedy Store, but as a first-timer, I was pretty bummed. I'm not a terribly sensitive person, but some of the acts were just straight up offensive. Not even like offensive jokes that could still be found kind of funny, just crude and offensive for crude and offensive sake. The building itself was pretty cool and relatively clean. It was VERY crowded inside and everyone had their masks off, even without actively drinking. Although everyone was vaccinated, this still made me feel a little unsafe. One of the comedians even joked that some of the people in the room definitely had COVID and were actively spreading it. Not COVID-safe at all. If this is a serious concern of yours, please avoid The Comedy Store. Service was incredibly slow. I understand that the servers are running around trying to get everyone their drinks in a packed room, but I waited a couple acts from when I ordered until when I actually got my beer. They also messed up billing, and ended up charing one party for our group, when we had asked to have separate bills. They stated that there was a two drink minimum, but it didn't seem to be enforced. I'm willing to give The Comedy Store another chance with a different lineup, but honestly, I think it would be a similar experience. read more
