Due to a medical issue, this is the first outing I've had for quite a while. I was so disappointed. Let me start with what works. The service was good. The restaurant is clean and attractive. Lots of chicken on the menu, but there's something there for almost everyone. I ordered a grilled cheese, mostly because it had pork on it and two different cheeses. The very small portion of thinly sliced pork was so dry it even looked dry. I would have not served it. I thought about picking the meat off and just enjoying the cheese, but it turned out there was very little cheese on it. This particular sandwich has so much potential - and it really shouldn't be hard to make. The pickle spears are really good though. They're a bread-and-butter type of pickle with a little heat. Came here for their Sunday Hip Hop Brunch. Make sure to make reservations because it is packed. The vibes here are so much fun! The music was great the whole time and everyone was singing dancing along. You can order mimosa towers for $40 and it's a great deal for a good day drunk. The food was pretty good as well. We ordered the chicken biscuit sliders which were so tasteful. The pretzel bites rivaled Auntie Ann's! I ordered the break wraps with chorizo. Made a reservation for 12:30 via Yelp. Got to the restaurant about 10 mins early. For most restaurants that's not usually a problem. We were seated 12:40 or later. Not sure what's happening with restaurants and their reservations these days. any who...I was starving. There was no bread or anything like that for the table and the appetizers on the menu we really too much food. I finally asked for something cause I just couldn't take it anymore. Our server offered biscuits and I said yes. We had been waiting for some time to place our orders and for the mains to come out. Finally got the biscuits which were the tiniest dry looking things when I had my food already. I ordered the eggs benedict cause I had seen them taking it out to tables and it looked good. I wanted to get something different than chicken and waffles, that I love but always order. I asked for the egg over medium. I know, that was risky but I always ask hoping they'll get it right. Eggs benedict came out with over easy runny eggs. The potatoes they served with it were cold and tasted burnt. The english muffin was not toasted so it was rubbery and pasty. I was too hungry not to return that and get something else. A few friends ordered the blackened chicken and grits and said it was good so I tried it. First Impressions? Door Hostess was kinda rude. 4 folks sitting around the door greeting station, not one of them asked how they could help. I was there last night for a friends' birthday. Bartenders were not attentive and we ended up leaving but not before they overcharged us. Manager was unapologetic at the time. I called last night and they told me to call back today. I called a few minutes ago and they said to call back after 2. Then they said to write an email instead. I did write the email but am also leaving this review in hopes of getting contacted to discuss the lack of service from last night -- and correct the charges on my card. I would give this place more stars because the food is very good, but the service is so terrible that it doesn't deserve them. When we arrived it was so loud inside that we decided on sitting outside and because it was early evening and starting to get chilly we asked the staff to turn on the patio heater. They said someone would come do it. They never did. Our waitress took a very long time coming to us and we waited nearly 45 minutes for the food to come out. They forgot about us repeatedly and eventually when we asked again, after nearly 90 minutes for the heater to be lit, a staff member informed us that they had no propane left. Terrible service and dry chicken. We made reservations for a large party for a birthday brunch. We were told we would have 3 tables for our party. When we arrived we were told we could not have the tables because they were heavily booked with reservations. The manager named Lou came out and told us this. Meanwhile 8 tables say empty for the duration of our meal. Our party ended up having to split while all these tables sat empty. I'd like to say that the food was worth the trouble. Fantastic food. We ordered the off menu Chicharrones, which were some of the best we've ever had. Served warm and fresh, these pork rinds are light, airy, crispy, and full of flavor from the the spice/herb blend that was lightly coating them. The pork flavor came through nicely and wasn't overpowered at all. The appetizer came with a side of house made ranch that was creamy with well developed flavors from the herbs and seasonings. Chef Chris even came out to greet us, so I'm hoping that our encouragement will help him to decide on making that a permanent menu item(you're welcome). We also ordered the Notorious P.I.G., Cheeseboard, and bread pudding. All were extremely delicious. The only setback to the evening was the hostess. Her surliness and inability to even make eye contact was almost enough to make us walk right out of the door and try out the new Korean BBQ joint across the street. I don't know about you, but that's often a foreboding sign of things to come when your first impression is a negative one. We certainly don't expect perfection out of the service we receive, but we definitely expect basic human decency. Other than that, the experience was pleasurable and the food made up for it. We had a reservation where the service was ok, but failed to tell us our time was almost done (we had just order another tower of alcohol) even though the previous time we were here they let us go past the 2hr as long as we kept consuming alcohol. My husband and I went to this restaurant last Saturday night for the first time. This is why we give one star. - On the first 15 minutes, the waitress cut our conversation and kept hurrying the appetizer order for 3 times, then another waiter and asked for the appetizer order (it was not that busy, there were still 2-3 tables open) - Chicken pops appetizer was undercooked, saw red bloody part near the drumstick bones - The waitress served water with earwig( photo attached) , I mean does she not watch what she is serving? Great place to enjoy Saturday brunch from 10-4. It is reserved seating or an open bar. My friend and I sat at the bar, and Grace served us. She was awesome. She made the experience wonderful. I ordered the country-fried steak. It was perfect, Tasteful and savory. My friend ordered something that was like roast beef in breakfast form. That, too, was heaven. We got the tower of mimosas which came with two or three champagne bottles. That's the best method to go to keep your mimosas coming when your server is busy. I chose to sit outside since it was a gorgeous spring day. There are tables with umbrellas so one can have shade if needed. There were so many delicious dishes on the menu, we thought it would be good to order a few apps and a couple of drinks. I was intrigued by the Skittles White Sangria and D had her signature mule. The Sangria was definitely on the sweeter side but was delicious. It also makes for a great pic on the gram. Now to the main event...the corn dogs. They were all I ever dreamed of. Crisp flavorful breading on the outside and juicy hot dog on the inside. It's what food porn dreams are made of. (Too much?) The Dijon mustard on the side is good but not necessary. We also tried the Roasted Corn Elote with Tajin. If you are a true lover of elote, save yourself the heartbreak and disappointment. But if you enjoy lightly seasoned corn sprinkled with cheese probably made by Karen you might like it. Last but not least are the Philadelphia Egg Rolls. I don't know what yelpers are talking about here and why there are so many good reviews. The food was not at all good. I had to order the dip and chips since that would be my last meal if I had to choose. But the onion dip tasted exactly like the dip I used to make at home with the dried soup packets. We didn't finish it. We got the Philly cheese steak egg rolls that everyone mentioned and they were nothing memorable. They tasted worse than chili's version. All of our meals, I mean all, were not good. The notorious p.i.g. was a joke. The burger was a tiny sliver of meat, cooked too well and burnt tasting, with no flavor and a huge bun. I took one bite and was done. The fried grouper sandwich had the exact same issues, minus the burnt taste. The grilled cheese was literally something like I used to eat at Denny's. And lastly my son's chicken and dumplings was actually OK, however it was drowning in their sauce. None of us finished our meals. As if we hadn't learned our lessons, we ordered dessert. They peach cobbler tasted burnt. The bread pudding was decent but as you got closer to the bottom, the moistness was gone. The only reason I gave it a two was because the wine was decent and at first, our service was good. Went back a second time and they were packed... food was still good, service was a little slower, but perfectly understandable given the number of customers. But, I won't ever go back again as long as they continue to employ one of the rudest and socially ignorant people I have ever had the displeasure of communicating with. So I was able to visit The Common Table the other evening for a Yelp Elite event. The Common Table is located in a nice area in Frisco right next to the Ford Center surrounded by some beautiful scenery. The staff went beyond my expectations by immediately making sure me had drinks & the food was brought out back to back & when I say back to back, I mean it! I was struggling between bites & pics before everyone put their hands on the plates lol. 1) Chips w/French Onion Dip -- the chips had a nice crunch & the dip was refreshing. It was quite windy so most of my chips blew away but oh well I was enjoying the weather ! 2) Bison Meatballs & toast drizzled w/Duck Sauce -- the meatballs had a little spice to them but the cheese & tomato sauce kept it balanced. 3) Bavarian Pretzel Bites -- not much of a bread person but the bites were decent when dipped in the beer cheese fondue. 4) Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls -- OMG! They were so good & fulfilling. I especially like that they came out nice & warm vs cold. I think I had about 2-3, just couldn't get enough. 5) Pulled Pork Cuban -- it was decent; wish the pork was a bit more juicy. 6) Chicken Lollipops (TX Dry Rub & Asian style) -- ahhhh! The name is cute in regards to how they come out but I would say the asian style was the best. 7) The Notorious PIG -- not a burger person but for the most part it was good nothing special. I came here for a Yelp Elite event. The atmosphere was great and met some amazing peoole. The Philly Cheese Steak egg rolls were crunchy and I liked that it was accompanied with queso on the bottom. The stuffing was good though it may have been squished a bit much where the flavors were a bit meddled. The bison meatballs were so delicious! Definitely try these on top of the duck fat encrusted toast. The flavors were on top with this one. The kobe beef corndogs were phenomenal! Omg I could eat a plate of that om my own.
