Brunch was a whole vibe from start to finish. The breakfast burrito was absolutely on point -- warm, perfectly grilled, and packed with flavor. It was loaded with fluffy scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes, melted cheese, and savory sausage, all wrapped in a soft tortilla with just the right crisp on the outside the peppers had good flavor also. Very casual and chill bar. I've been here multiple times already and service has always been straight to the point. Food is solid, typical bar food, service is great, and ambiance is super laid-back. Jared and Joseph are great bartenders. Rachelle is also a very great server along with her boyfriend too! Ambiance is really relaxed/casual and laid-back. I've had a hard time with my job's transfer since now I have to drive across the other side of the metroplex, but it is really nice to spend time with my coworkers outside of work. My wife, daughter, and I were hungry for lunch and I found this restaurant which was close by. I saw online that the wait for 45 minutes so I made a reservation, it was $15 deposit to hold the table which is fine since it goes towards the bill. We show up to the restaurant and were surprised to see it was hip hop brunch, and it was LIT! We almost left because it didn't seem like the vibe a 2 year old should go to but we were hungry and we had the deposit down so we stayed. I'm happy we stayed because the music was great, all the old school Hip Hop and R&B hits mixed with some new school as well. We were definitely singing a long and moving to a lot of the songs. They have a kids menu, and high chairs, so they definitely accommodate parents with kids, The speakers are loud so if you are looking for a chill lunch or a quiet spot to bring a toddler, I'd look elsewhere. I had a veggie omelette (veggies are mushrooms, spinach, onions, tomatoes I believe) with potatoes aka home fries with onions and green peppers. I really enjoyed it, as the home fries reminded me of the home fries my dad would make at home growing up. My wife had the chicken and waffles, she really enjoyed the waffles, and the chicken was good as well. The chicken and waffles come with hot syrup, and franks red hot buffalo sauce. My daughter got the kids quesadilla, she didn't seem to love it. Also didn't come with any dipping sauces, we had our waitress bring a side of sour cream. The cheese didn't seem like regular cheese that would normally be on a quesadilla and they didn't put that much cheese on it. Beverages my wife and I had IPAs, 20 oz for $10, and our daughter had a milk. Our waitress Bianca was very nice, and helped give us suggestions on what were popular menu items. She had a good energy, and was pleasant to talk with. Overall this is definitely a fun place for brunch. People were chanting "Shots! shots! Shots!", popping bottles with sparklers, bday celebrations, jamming out to music, and drinking mimosas from towers. I LOVE visiting The Common Table for brunch. They always have a dj playing great music, the food is always good, and the staff is friendly. If you're ever in the area looking for brunch with a vibe, I highly recommend this restaurant. I don't recommend the tower mimosa's unless you're into flat champagne. I always order a glass of prosecco or a martini since the bottles of champagne seem to be open for too long and there's nothing worse than flat champagne. We decided to participate in Sunday funday and this was our first stop! I got the breakfast wrap, with no eggs or meat BUT filled with potatoes. The Common Table was here and we ate here twice as we didn't realize this was a scheduled dinner spot with the conference. When we arrived in Frisco we ate here first. We had the Queso & Chips, chicken philly w/ fries (me), and the salmon with brussel sprouts (coworker). Queso had a good consistency and had flavor - solid start. The chicken philly was average but the fries were cooked well. My coworker liked the salmon but the brussel sprouts were too tough and she left them on the plate. The 2nd meal with the conference consisted of Fish &Chips - again average. Unfortunately, the water tasty very earthy this time around and was undrinkable - which is okay because our waiter only came by once. The service from our first visit was much better. Came here for brunch with a friend and I was shocked by how much I enjoyed my meal as someone who is less than a fan of brunch. After seeing someone at the table next to me receive it, I bravely order the chicken fried steak and it did not disappoint! The portion was huge, the steak was super crispy and extremely well seasoned without being too salty. The gravy was great and the potatoes that come with it were good. I could've used more peppers and onions but that's personal preference! We also got the short rib hash, and it wasn't bad. There's a sauce that comes on top of it that was really good. But in comparison to the steak, it doesn't stand a chance. Experience wise, this place is LOUD and lively. We sat outside and could still feel the energy of the restaurant. Our server was great and attentive. My only complaint was that there were so many flies! Even with fans blowing directly at our table, it was unbelievable how many flies were at our table. We got sat fairly quickly with a paid reservation for "hip hop brunch" which did NOT have a live dj like the menu/promos said. $35 for a mimosa tower that claimed to be 2 bottles of champagne but there was no way. It had to have been 2 smaller bottles. The waitress asked what juice we wanted for the tower and we chose tropical. It was really good. When I got my bill, it was an additional $5 just for the juice!? The waitress never once mentioned that & that seems a bit ridiculous to charge $5 for juice in a MIMOSA tower.. but okay. Got our food, it was fine. Most girls liked their lunch. One of our girls ordered chicken and waffles. It came with ONE chicken tender.. we saw other plates walk by with 2-3 pieces. My plate came out last, not sure if she forgot it but I ordered the blackened chicken. It was fine. Not worth the price. My grits under the chicken were cold. I ordered a side of bacon that was severely soggy and $7 for a side of bacon that wasn't good was frustrating. Half of the patio is covered with shade but half isn't. Be prepared for that. AND if you have a reservation of a larger group, keep in mind that you're timed. So the larger the group, the faster time feels and your 2 hours goes by fast. We made reservations online for Sunday brunch and were excited to enjoy the food and vibes here until we arrived and it wasn't worth the hassle. There is a two-hour time limit on busy days and we understood that going in. Our table wasn't set for our arrival, so unbeknownst to us, they marked us as sitting down late, hurting our time limit. We (group of 4) started with a $44 common table punch, but decided that wasn't what we wanted due to the massive amount of ice in the container that watered down the drink, plus the ice that they brought in our individual cups to accompany the punch. The waitress, who was argumentative and passive aggressive throughout this process, did not help us. The manager, there at the time, removed the punch from our tab. We ordered a mimosa tower, that came without any ice, and it was good and plentiful. The short rib hash was delicious but it was more like a snack, it wasn't enough to fill me up. The biscuit sandwich was very tasty and filling. Our two hour limit was approaching and we asked if our time would be extended since the mimosa tower took more than 25 minutes to arrive because they ran out of the pitchers that it was poured in. The answer was no. However, two tables that had reservations before us (I confirmed with those tables) were not forced to leave but we were? Our server clearly was playing favoritism, she was dancing on them, while forcing us to leave. The Common Table is the place to be for brunch if you're in Dallas. It's officially a "must-visit" any time I'm in town. I dined on a Sunday morning. I strongly recommend making a reservation beforehand as the seats fill up quickly. It's a lively brunch (hip-hop themed) so expect to be yelling to communicate but you're only communicating if you're not singing to the music, eating the delicious food, or cheering your mimosas. And honestly, you're gonna be havingsuch a great time you probably won't even notice the volume after while. This restaurant has amazing energy and is a huge space with indoor and outdoor seating. I was visiting from Chicago over the weekend and my friend brought me here for brunch with her boyfriend. She had a reservation for the patio but because it was raining, we had to wait for a table inside. The hostess provided us with a large round table in the corner, which felt like a vip section. We were so grateful because it wasn't looking like we would get a table. I wish I knew her name because she was really sweet and even gave us complimentary mimosas during our wait. Once seated, our server, Chris, came right over with waters and introduced himself. He helped me choose the short rib hash and I was not disappointed! This dish was so amazing. The baschumel sauce was so rich and so tasty. The short rib itself was tender and the potatoes crispy. I could order this again for sure. I also had a pancake on the side. It was way too cakey and dense for me. I didn't care for it. I tried the chicken fried steak that my friend's bf ordered. Also very good! I would order that as well. Now for the atmosphere. I have been to both locations, and both locations do not disappoint, especially with their Happy Hour specials. Atmosphere/Ambiance - 5/5 - Just like the other location, I have never been inside haha. We take our pup and sit outside. This location doesn't have an area for the kids, but there there are many other places to eat in this area as well. Staff - 5/5 - Very friendly and attentive. Made sure to come out and check on us in a timely fashion. Food/Drink - What we ordered: Drinks - Smoke & Mirrors - $7 HH - 5/5 - Cannot beat this $7 old fashioned. Food - Chicken Quesadillas - $7 - 5/5 - These are massive. I get these every time. Garlic Knot Chicken Parm Sliders - $7 - 3/5 - This location has them dry as well. Pretzel Bites - $7 - 4/5 - Nothing special, but recommend if you are a pretzel lover. Chicken Philly Egg Rolls - $7 - 4.5/5 - Philly Steak egg roll style. Recommended. Ahi Tuna Tacos - $8 - 5/5 - Highly Recommend. Definitely one of my faves. Fried Pickles - $4 - 5/5 - nothing special. But CHEAP. Thursday is AYCE wings, so one day will need to check it out. There were 4 of us and we all tried different main meals from fish and chips to pasta. It was not even busy but took about 45 minutes after ordering to receive our food. Also, I am not a big breakfast person and the lunch options on the menu are extremely sparse...almost to the point of leaving. I have been to The Common Table before but this was the first time I was there for the Hip Hop Brunch and it did not disappoint! I frequent The Star and would hear the music for the brunch and thought it sounded like an amazing vibe so when a girlfriend and I were looking for places to have our weekly brunch this was the first place I thought of. Fortunately, she and I plan our brunches in advance so I got online and had no problem getting a reservation. I really wanted to be outside, but due to the Texas summer heat I couldn't risk it and decided to opt for a table inside. I arrived about 5 minutes early and was seated right away. Fortunately, we were sat in the far back away from the DJ because, let me tell you, the place is very cozy and the music was pretty loud so you could hear it inside and out. You definitely felt like you were at the club - everyone in the restaurant was laughing, dancing and having an amazing time. Even one of the waiters got in on the fun and started dancing by one of the tables. All of it created such a fun and entertaining experience. There were only two of us so we didn't order one of the towers, but there was one at almost every table that had a group. I've never been to a brunch spot with more drink than food options and there were some really unique drinks and tons of fun variety - I guarantee there's something for everyone. I had the tropical mimosa (light and tasty) and my friend had both a white and red Skittles sangria with the red being stronger than the white but she enjoyed them both! She and I decided to split the chicken biscuit and even though it cost an extra $1.50 it was 100% the right decision. Splitting the meal gave each of us our own egg and it was the perfect portion of food. And I can't forget our server who was super sweet and attentive even though this place was SUPER crowded.
