Worst customer service of my life from the manager and snarky cashier. Will never shop here again.

This store reminds me of why you can literally find everything you need in The Container Store. My friend recently moved into a new apartment and had shoes strewn everywhere in her apartment. So I suggested getting a shoe rack from The Container Store. To think she almost ordered a shoe rack from Sky Mall. The staff was not too friendly as they never said anything to us except when we left the store. Okay so it was closing...can't blame us for going on a late Sunday afternoon. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could ! I was just in here with my mom for a return and the cashier who I understand was just doing her job called over the manager "LOU" who was a condensing jerk ! He didn't even hear me out before looking at the cashier and rolling his eyes and saying "let's just end this conversation , just do it". He accepted the return for the faulty merchandise with a nasty demeanor! I would never want anyone to be in the situation we were in this evening. read more

This review is for the TCS closet system only. Beware! The TCS custom closet system from the Container Store is hyped and sold as a high end, high quality custom closet, aka "your dream closet". The sales pitch is nothing but a fantasy and the system is far from being high end, high quality or a "dream closet" system. It's a nightmare! After purchasing the TCS closet system, we found that the commitment to service, responsiveness and quality stopped. Doors installed incorrectly, defective with cracks from the factory, uneven and just plain sloppy. Numerous calls to The Container Store and their corporate office have provided no resolution, just a lot of back peddling and no shows for scheduled repairs. We chose this closet system because of the great service we received at The Container Store, the expectation that it was higher quality than their competitors and they stood by their product. Sadly, they have failed. The product is on the expensive side and is nowhere near worth the cost. Save yourself the frustration and consider another option. read more

I kind of have a love and hate relationship with this store. First off, their service is horrible and not friendly. The only people who are even nice are the guys who bring your products out to your car. Otherwise, there's a lady at the front counter that's notorious for being rude. She won't even say hi to you when you say it to her. I promise! After spending over $600 here, you'd think we'd manage to get some courteous staff, but nope. Overall, most items are overpriced and I would only recommend going when they have sales or coupons. Quality is not great but okay. read more

I've always wanted to visit The Container Store and I finally was able to this weekend. Some thoughts... 1. Wow, the line is really long. I wouldn't want to stand in that line. 2. The store, ironically, is very disorganized. Merchandise in disarray. A container/organization store should feel light, clean, and organized! 3. Prices are meh. I can find the same things on Amazon and have things shipped to my house and not have to wait in line. As a store, it is fine and sells as they say...containers to organize your life. However, they didn't give me a reason to want to go back. read more

This container store is centrally located right by South Coast Plaza off of the 405 freeway. They have a pretty big selection and the staff is very helpful even though I wasn't able to find what I wanted. My taste is quite unique and I am looking for something quite special that they were able to custom build for me nor really recommend me one so I'm going to have to do some research on Amazon. There's plenty of parking here and it is easy to get to. read more

We went to the Container Store on a Saturday looking to spend about $500 on closet organizer items. It was somewhat busy, but I suspect that's average for a Saturday. We found most of what we needed, but some items weren't on the shelf. So we looked for someone to help us. And looked. And looked. Finally, we found someone who was helping another person. She said she'd send someone right over. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, we put our stuff back and left. We stopped at a Home Depot, and found everything we were looking for at about 2/3 the price. Lesson learned! read more

I don't understand curbside pick up. I put an order in for curbside pick up and I need to wait 10 days to get it.

Organization is expensive. But, they have some great items and tools. I focused on getting new organizers for a new fridge and the selection here helped immensely. Prices were competitive with online pricing at other retailers and staff were friendly and helpful. read more

The manager on duty, Lisa, was very rude about my request to cashing out a gift card for $6. She was defensive and argumentative about the California state law that requires the merchant to cash out a gift card less than $10. She ended up realizing that she lied about what the law said when I pulled it up on my phone. read more

Great Container Store, just wish i didn't have to battle with all the idiots going to South Coast in order to go here. Parking is abominable if you go here during peak shopping hours, you know, anytime the mall is open basically. But a few things I've bought here that I still have and love to this day are as follows: 1) Colored hangers for my clothes. Ages ago I bought a box of orange hangers, and still see them adding their little pop of color to my closet everytime I peek in there. 2) Large tube trashcan with a push down flip lid. Basically every trashcan I've ever had I've bought here. I don't like the small trashcans most people, I like my garbage containers BIG. hahhah 3) Shoe Storage boxes. I bought about 2-3 dozen clear plastic shoe boxes. These are easily one of the smartest purchases I have ever made. I am able to easily fit a pair of shoes in each box, 2 or 3 pairs of sandels. I put them up in my closet and since they're clear i always know what shoe is in which box. This has made my closet so much more organized. I just reach up and grab the box with the shoe i want in it. And then when I'm done I just throw the shoes back in the box and put them back up with their fellow foot-goers. No more shoes just kicking around the floor everywhere. No, now they have a home. 4) Large clear plastic clothes storage boxes. Very similar to the shoe boxes, just much larger and with heavier duty clasps for keeping them closed. I have used to transport my entire wardrobe from Newport Beach to San Francisco via U-Haul. Saved me so much time in unpacking. Just lifted eveything out, nothing had moved around and was just a neatly folded as when they went in. Come here to get your life organized, but expect to pay a price. Nothing here is "cheap", but sometimes losing that money can save your sanity. ORGANIZE AND BE FREE read more

Everytime I come in here, I plan on just walking up and down the aisle and check it out only. I tell myself not to buy anything. Every time I leave, I end up buying tons of stuff. How can you not like this chain? They have a lot of things you need or didn't know you need. The back counter is never crowded and should be used when you're ready to purchase. Sure you need to walk all the way thru the store to get to your car, but you walk past the longer slower lines up front. If you know me, you known I practically live here. You can store anything from kitchen utensils, to jewelry, to bodies (ok, not really) in the containers here. Many seem to complain about prices but double check your label. A lot of the storage boxes here are made in the good ol' USA. The website even has a Made in the USA catagory. I went here looking for a oxo product and right when i entered the employee gladly walked me over to the corner where they sell all oxo-related products. Very kind and helpful. It's pretty big and if you haven't been to the container store in general it's always a good idea to ask for directions if you have an idea of what you want to purchase. The parking is in a slightly underground structure. Very easy to find parking. My whole shopping trip was quick. read more

I start again, well. As someone who is going through a major remodel I've been experiencing alot of different types of work people From restaurants, construction companies, to interior design. This yelp review is on the product and service of container store. A closet designer named Maureen( Mo) for short,helped me with our new special requirements for a small master bedroom closet build. She spent time to make sure I was satisfied. A problem did occur and I was displeased. A call was placed to a higher authority and everybody involved made sure that the mistake was resolved to my pleasure. Wow everybody should see how this was built and installed. WOW!! This store has a place to store everything in your house. Went in yesterday to buy me a collectors display case for my kids Vinylmation collection. I always stayed away from this store since all I heard about this place is that everything is so expensive. Its actually not that bad.. you pay for quality looking items. I'm a avid Disney collector and I saw many many things I could use to display and protect my collections. The workers seems very helpful but never got to speak to any of them. Very clean and super organized store. I think I will be coming her more often just to see whats new. read more

I bought some things $456.69. I found they charge twice in my debit account. I came back to store and ask to refund but she did not even give a word of apology about what happened. Just wait for few days. She told me they didn't have a any fault only bank was a problem. The company want get small interest money for three days. read more

My faves are the travel accessories and office supplies. They carry post-its that the office supply store doesn't. Plenty of great ideas and motivation. Excellent sales staff. They don't let anyone stand in line for long which is appreciated. read more

Nice store but out of my price range. You can get the same stuff at Ikea for half the price. It's a lot of stuff you don't really need until you see it. While they have a container for everything, my philosophy is instead of buying containers for all my crap, maybe I should be getting rid of the stuff in the first place. read more

The Container Store used to be so much better in the past. The selection is still nice although over priced. But I liked it because it had a lot more choices for boxes and containers. Now I can get a lot of the same selections at Target or on Amazon. If the customer service here had been better it would make the shopping experience better. But it is now non-existent. So I might as well stare a computer screen to do my shopping. At least the computer doesn't look back at me with weird looks. read more

Not a good experience today. I had stuff to return and my return period expired during the covid closure. I called the 800 number to ask what to do and they said no problem just go to the store and they'll take care of me. Store (specifically Rosy) did not get the memo. She argued with me about the return policy (even though I showed her the website where it states 150 days) and told me today was 120 days after they closed in March (both illogical and incorrect...today is 6/24 and who cares how many days it's been since you CLOSED if you're CLOSED I can't return things. The point is that the store closed during the return period). She then tried to refund me the lowest price in the last 120 days (again with the poor logic). I just kept repeating to her what the 800 customer service person had said and finally she processed the return at original price like she was doing me a huge favor. The icing on the cake was when she overcharged me for an in store purchase and instead of issuing a standard insincere apology, she said "oh looks like we raised the price." Nice. Way to give Container Store a black mark. read more

This store is amazing! Neat freaks all over the world must have orgasmed in unison when they heard about this store. I could not believe how many items they make for keeping organized. The funny thing is how crammed the store was with all the items meant to keep it uncluttered. I must have crashed my cart 5 times going down the aisles. I'm not usually one to write a review but my experience today was so disrespectful and appalling that after being on hold for literally 33 minutes I felt it appropriate to share it. I called in today looking for some information on storage containers. I spoke with a girl that was told by her manager is named Sam, not she was telling the truth but whatever. After being on hold for "28 minutes"I called in on another line asking to speak with the manager who apologized for her disrespectful employee and tried her best to disregard her behavior as she was busy. To busy to pick up the phone and say so! Although the manager did do some checking and tried to help me I'll never get that 30 minutes back! With that being said I'm go to reach out to corporate Monday and share my misadventure. Sure it's not to going to accomplish anything other then another apology and we will try to do better. I've got employees and if any of them treated one of our customers with much lack of respect they wouldn't be working for the company-any longer no excuses! read more

LOVE this place, LOVE IT!! For an organization freak like me, this store is like heaven. They have storage containers, travel stuff, kitchen stuff, holders galore, anything that you can think of organizing at home - they have something here that will help you complete the job!! I could seriously spend hours in this store and I do at least once a year. Sadly, there isn't a Container Store in Hawaii (poor me) so I make it a part of my vacation every year. I love the Container Store. I grew up with some of the originals way back a long time ago in Dallas. This one is probably one of my favorite locations in SoCal... it is large and bright and clean and well stocked. The staff has always been incredibly helpful and accommodating. You come in with problems, they sell you solutions. I love it. And if what you are looking for happens to not be on the shelf that day - someone will order it for you right away. I could get lost in here for hours just daydreaming about all the amazing ways I can organize every last shelf in my house. read more

This place is helping me become more organized. Yes...very slowly but it is helping the chaos that was once my house become more organized. This latest trip to the container store was for drawer organizers which we desperately needed. I find the prices very reasonable and there is something for every room in your house. I even joined their pop star rewards type of program to continue on with the organization of my house. Hopefully with some discounts......The very friendly sales lady kept talking about future discounts like $15.00 off and previews of new items so I signed up!
