This store is a type-a personality's wet dream. I ended up here cause I needed a new trashcan. The old one smelled like the rotting corpse of a dead whore and was stinking up my apartment so badly. I started off at Restoration and they sent me here and boy am I glad they did. I just kept adding shit into my basket. Stuff I didn't even know I needed until I came here. Did you know there is a magical container for inside your bathroom cabinet so that you can shove your fucking blow dryer in there. I bet you didn't have any idea. Great staff. Very friendly. Found everything I needed and other things that I didn't really need but ended up buying anyway because wow, I love what this store has. And when I had questions, the staff took a lot of time to explain things and show me around. I also had to go back to return an item, and it was quick and painless. They said they accept all returns anytime (i.e. no 14 day or 30 day time limit, etc). All I needed was my receipt. I'd definitely shop here again. read more

I absolutely love this store and can spend hours roaming the aisles dreaming about all the ways I can organize my closets and drawers with the perfect little plastic containers. This place has containers for things you never knew you needed containers for - i.e. hot dog & sliced cheese containers? I also love their gift wrap and ribbon selection especially for the holidays. I actually went to the store today for nothing other than their free Gift Wrap demo (every Sat. thru 12/23 at 2PM and 4PM). I've been meaning to check it out so finally made the time to go and lucky me, I was the only one who seemed enamored at the idea of wrapping the perfect gift, so I got a little private tutorial from the fabulous and oh so talented Mark! I was floored at the boxes on display that he wrapped. Clearly this guy knows how to add that extra sparkle to a gift. He walked me through step-by-step how to gift wrap with only 4 pieces of double-sided tape and even showed me how to make handmade ribbons! He was so patient and thorough and I was even lucky enough to score a $25 Container Store gift card in the end! Now, that's a wrap. Amazing products. Worst customer service. Tamara checked us out today at the register. She was so rude I could not believe my eyes. My mom and I were about to not even purchase the products. She got mad at me because I didn't think I was a pop member and then I had to ask her nicely a few times to put in my email and she got even more mad. Then, I asked her if I could use a coupon I had and said it's not end of January yet and threw the coupon back on the table. Then I inserted chip credit card and she rudely asked me to swipe the card twice because it was going through. She turned her head at me and my mom the entire time. We tried being nice to change her but no reciprocation. I love this store in general. Amazing product. Rude, rude customer service. Needs help in this department. But great products. read more

I have been to this store a few times now and absolutely love it. No doubt you'll always find what you're looking for, and usually several things that you didn't realize you needed. But I'm writing a review specifically to applaud their excellent customer service after I bought and assembled a TV stand only to find that there was a large scratch on the one side of it. I called and they had a new part shipped to me free of charge. It was a completely hassle free process. I was expecting to be a headache, but it was seamless. This weekend I decided it was time to redo the closets. First I went on thecontainerstore.com and entered all the dimensions to my closet, and instead of telling me what I needed, the website told me to call the store. I was totally annoyed. I went into the store, and starting looking at the elfa, eventually a very helpful Margaret found me and helped me design what I needed. She even showed me what she did for her own closet, so I knew she was capable. They trimmed everything to size for me, and didn't try to upsell me things I didn't need. Then Margaret taught me how to install everything. If you park in the bluespots on level A, they will bring the purchases down to you. But, we couldn't figure out how to get to level A. I will be back to do more closets next weekend. read more

I usually wouldn't go out of my way to post a review for a box store, but I recently had a bad experience with a saleswoman named Donna. She let me know that using a coupon (that I had received at another Container Store) was "frowned upon". Frankly, many of the items at the Container Store are overpriced and are easily purchased elsewhere for a lower price. Using a coupon is the only reason it makes sense to shop there. Save your money and buy it from Amazon. The sales staff was certainly no benefit. read more

My experience here is hits and misses. Some products are smart ideas. Some products are lame. Some have good quality. Some are really cheaply made and don't reflect the price. But they are all made in China. Some employees are nice. Some staff have major attitude like they really hate you for bothering them. Overall, I found some useful products that I can't find it elsewhere. But the staff really need to lose the attitude. Ok, I get it. Okay this is the THIRD time I've been charged more at the register than the ticket price on an item at The Container Store - they charged me DOUBLE for an item - instead of scanning it they scanned a higher priced item and entered "x 2" in the register. Once might be an error, but THREE times is a deliberate attempt to rip off the consumer. This isn't just a case of the scan code being wrong......Last year I bought a $7.99 item on sale there for $2.49 - the ONLY reason I bought it was because it was under $3. Instead of scanning the red sale price bar code the clerk scanned the (white) regular-price label above the red one. When I got home I looked at the receipt I saw they charged me more than DOUBLE what I should have paid. Had to trek all the way back for a credit - WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT? Of course every error I've had has favored the profit margin of the store - if these were "innocent" mistakes, sometimes the error would favor the consumer, but it never does. You may be asking why I would still shop there or would wait til I got home to scrutinize my receipt....well, I am a minimalist - so I only go there about once a year - enough of a gap that I forget each time to scrutinize my receipt. I am going to complain to the Dept of Weights & Measures - PLEASE check every item on your receipt BEFORE you leave the Container Store - especially if you are purchasing many items. read more

My review is for THIS container store only. I like the container store in general because they have really cute stuff.However, the manager here was the RUDEST most inconsiderate excuse for a human being I ever met. One of the reasons I would buy something from the Container Store over somewhere else was their generous return policy. However, when I was trying to return an item, the manager made extremely rude comments and refused to accept the item. Refusing to accept the item is fine but it was absolutely unnecessary not to mention incredibly unprofessional to make personal comments. However, despite this, I made around $90 something in purchases and forgot something and spent another $30 literally 5 minutes after I walked out the store and spent over $100 worth of purchases in one day. They were having a promotion where they give you a $15 giftcard if you spent over $100 in one day but because it was in separate transactions the manager refused to give the giftcard. I probably could have returned everything and rebought all the items in one receipt but it wasn't worth the hassle. That being said, I refuse to buy anything from this particular store. read more

I know a lot of customers are happy with this store but I was an employee there for awhile; They saw my resume, called me in for several interviews, loved me, hired me but then..they said that I would have to work their night truck once or twice a week for them to get to know me and me to get to know them. they promised a full time job from the beginning but the night trucks just kept going and going. I already had a full time 40 hour early morning job but they wanted me to also shine on night truck one, two and three nights a week while none of them were even there! Not my kind of company at all! their drive-by service is just to die for. if you need to get your life organized, come check out the container store! their prices are pretty comparable for certain items to amazon, even! that said, some items really are quite expensive. you could get a $15 box at target or spend $40 here -- just depends on what you want out of the box, ya know? that said, i did buy a $100 hamper here... so just beware... it is so tempting once you're there to be convinced that you need everything. including a very expensive plastic container for dirty clothes. sigh.. read more

For years I walked by this store thinking why does a store need to be this big to sell plastic containers and thought how ridiculous this waste of space is!. Little did I know that this store would one day be an obsession that i won't be able to help. Then finally I had to walk in to buy what I thought would be a few things and walked out with carts of different amazing gadgets, beautiful linen boxes for organizing closets, wonderful pantry organizers and the list will go on you must go in to see for yourself what I'm talking about. What sets this store apart -and I would even say company because I have been to about 3 different container stores now is the customer service and unbelievable warmth and kindness the staff have. This store in particular is amazing. I walk in and they now greet me by first name each time. Carlo in particular is a true gem. He is always smiling, always ready to help -even before asking, and has such amazing ideas. Thank you Carlo for always giving me such a fun and happy shopping experience. If you're a compulsive organizer like me, this is a terrific place stocked with lots of cool stuff. The staff there are nice and helpful and the store is well laid out (duh, its an organizing store LOL). I reduce it to 3 stars because it is mostly way overpriced. You can find an occasional bargain here, but be prepared for some sticker shock. read more

I've been a loyal customer of the Container Store for years and finally decided to use the Click & Pick up service, where you order online and pick up curbside. What a joke!! The worst customer service EVER! Once I placed my order online, I received confirmation that it was ready to pick up next day around Noon. On my way to the store the next day, I called the store to make sure it was in fact ready, which it was. The associate said it was being processed and it would be ready right when I arrive. About 2 minutes later, as I'm about to pull into the parking lot at the mall, I get a call that part of my order is on back order and won't be ready for another 2 days. After back and forth with the associate, I told him he'll have to ship it to me free of charge as I can't make this trip again. He agrees, and confirms my delivery address. When I arrive at the store to get the rest of the order that is ready, I called them on the phone that you're suppose to use to let them know you're downstairs. I'm told someone will be right down. After about 20 minutes, I call again and am told again that someone will be right down. Finally, an associate shows up and when I mention that this took a while longer than I thought it would, his response is "Oh I don't know, I just clocked in at Noon." It was 1pm and I had been there since 12:25pm and what do I care when he clocked in? Anyway, 2 days later I get a call from the person delivering the order and they're telling me they're at my house and no one is there. I ask them about the address, and sure enough, they're at the old house (don't even know where they would have gotten that address ,perhaps from previous purchases). It was not the address that had been confirmed with me a couple of days earlier. The guy is super annoyed that he's at the wrong address and tells me that's what he was told by the Container Store. What happened to good customer service? Don't offer a 'convenience' that you can't deliver on. Argh!! No more Container Store purchases for this customer, what a shame, as we're moving to a new house and will be needing lots of organizing ideas. read more
