I love this store. I have been shopping at The Container Store in Costa Mesa for quite some time. They have just about anything you'd want when you are moving from one place to another - packing, etc. at the old place to all kinds of things you would want to set up a home at the new place. Prices seem on the high side, but if you do a search for prices for the same items elsewhere you will find very little difference in prices. Bottom line is that The Container Store handles higher end products. I do have a caution for this particular store and one blond check out clerk that has little regard for the items you are buying. Instead of wrapping the small Amac plastic boxes I was buying, she threw them all into the bag together. She was so rough with the Intermetro pieces that she marked them. read more

I used their store pick-up option after ordering three small items online. My scheduled pick-up time was 2PM but I called in and they had it ready by 1030AM (I placed the order At 830AM). Once I parked in the designated pick-up parking area it only took 7 minutes for them to bring my completely correct order to my car. I would shop here way more if I could find more information about the treatment of the workers who make the containers because the quality of product and service is high! read more

This is one pretty cool store. Like the name says it has a lot of storage containers and boxes. It also has other things such as clothes hangers, glass jars, door stops and tons of other cool useful items for the house. I was glad to see that many of their products were made somewhere other than China. The prices seem reasonable, and the layout of the store is large and airy. read more

We went today because we were looking for a new shoe rack, when we got there we only saw the display model and so we asked for assistance, a wonderful lady named Rocky came over to help us and she was on it. She found out even though another store said they checked they did not have the one we wanted in stock however she allowed us to buy the display, Rocky made sure everything looked good and did tell us of the one small dent inside she also make sure we got 15%off for the display model. We left so happy and top side it was put together. Jamie checked us out fast friendly and made sure we got our purchase out in great condition because of the rain. I found a wonderful desk for a very tight space. It has a rolling 'under' desk component that I love. It was a needle in a haystack find. I also have give a shout out to Julie C in corporate office. Who, once it was determined that the desk that was sent had 2 left panels, instead of a right and a left, swifly resent me another desk and label for returning 'faulty' desk. While one would wonder why I gave Container Store 5 stars if they sent me the wrong product, I'm a forgiving customer. I know that perfection is often unattainable. It's HOW you handle a mistake that matters the most. Container store handled this like PROS, admitted the error, apologized and are having the desk picked up right away. This gave me the confidence that I need to continue to be a dedicated Container Store devotee! read more

If you're lacking storage space or if your living quarters are in disarray, I strongly suggest you go to The Container Store. Unfortunately, I just don't have the closet space I used to have so I had to do something to accommodate my belongings. The Container Store was the solution to my problem. With associates that are very knowledgeable and friendly, that was even more beneficial to my shopping experience here. I bought hangers that allow me to hang up to five shirts on it, hangers that allows me to hang five pair of pants, and a shoe bag with multiple slots that hangs in the closet as well. For my hats, I was able to get a cap rack that hangs over the closet door and holds up to 24 hats, baseball hats to be specific. If you don't want to spend too much on the fancy hangers, there are clips, the 'super hold clips', that affix to regular hangers, which I also bought a package of. The storage containers are just great too, and slim, and I can easily slide them under the bed. The items here are simply great and helpful in helping anyone to become more organized, neat, and orderly. In addition to useful products, the prices at The Container Store are reasonable too. read more

It's amazing how many employees can work in a store and at the same time avoid offering a customer help. I approached no less than three container store employees who all said they were busy and one who ignored my "excuse me" for help and went back to dusting. My husband and I spent two hours planning our closets with designer Carlo R. He made the whole process fun and interesting. He even told us to wait to buy the shelving for a month as the products we wanted would be going on sale. The closets turned out great and now have so much more room. We were so thrilled with our first project that I ordered a few more items online. Somehow the order was totally wrong when we went to pick it up. Carlo patiently calmed us down, and sorted through the confusion until everything was absolutely correct. Ok, so I hate stores like these. As a single guy, you would never find me inside a Bed, Bath & Beyond, IKEA, or The Container Store. Being practically married, though, I find myself in these types of stores more frequently these days. So far, The Container Store is one of my favorites. They have a huge selection of, what else, containers for every type of application you could imagine. Containers for shoes, containers for dishes, containers for containers. I could hardly contain myself. Wah wah whaaaaa. Big selection of packing and shipping supplies as well. Basically your one stop shop for storage and packing. Everything is reasonably priced, too, with the average cost ranging from $15 to $30 per item. The staff are all very helpful, friendly, and polite. I truly appreciate the fact that they will take the time out of whatever they were doing to help you out, unlike some other places (big electronics store, you know who you are). The greatest thing about the service here is that they will help you load your big containers into your car! Being on the second floor, one wonders how in the heck a person is supposed to bring all of his/her new purchases down to the parking garage? Well, if you've been here before, then you know to park in the BLUE section. If you parked anywhere else, then all you need to do is take the elevator located just outside The Container Store down to whichever floor you parked on (hopefully A, the top floor). Then you just walk to your car and notice the way you must drive back to get to the BLUE section. Once in your car, you just drive over to the BLUE section and park in the specially marked "The Container Store" loading spaces. If a friendly clerk is not already down there with your stuff (as one was for us today), then there is a Bat Phone on the wall that rings directly to the store and you can let them know you are ready for someone to bring your things down to the car. I really do appreciate businesses that still practice good customer service, especially since there are so many out there that do not anymore. read more

The Container Store is a store that sells essentially nothing. It's like a store that sells candy wrappers but not candies. What you buy here is space, that thing you can get for free just by cupping your hands. Every material that can be transformed into a box, this place has got it. They're not selling containers for dead people. Yet. Forest Lawn should watch its back. I accidentally stopped by once here and was lucky to find out that there was a sale on shelves. It finally dawned on me about how disorganized I am by looking at the large, but not overwhelming, amount of crap I thought I'd never need. See, ever since I left for college, I have collected an enormous amount of paperwork (part of being an adult I guess) with nowhere to put them. I've found my bank statements underneath my bathroom sink. I've once used my loan documents as a coaster. Sometimes I pile up all the HR documents from work to make a portable laptop table. I've also used random bits of paper to prop up tables and chairs. I think you should know why not keeping track of your paperwork is bad for you and would literally cost you money if Company A screws you over and you can't find the document to back you up. I now have stackable drawers perfect for organizing mail and documents. I will now never sleep on my Time Warner cable bill. Being to the Pasadena and Century City locations, I can tell you that the service here is unflailingly polite. Without the customer reps, I would've never gotten my Baggalini, a wee sturdy bag to shove all my toiletries for travel. I use to just get on with just a Ziplock bag. Because of this, my initial stunned reaction to its existence has gradually waned. Container Store--you're OK. read more

First, getting organized is expensive. Once you get past that though this store offers a ton of options, including reasonably priced custom closets, and importantly they do free design and can book installation (there is a fee). My wife and I stumbled into this option and even though we are renting the modular Elfa closet system allows you to take you closet with you when you leave. The closet design (which I was originally resistant to) went much faster then I thought and the software was really good! Getting to this store specifically, it's huge! Parking is generally a dollar for the mall (they don't validate) and I also have never had a bad customer service experience. Everyone has been really great. read more

Really disappointed in Container Store. I bought an ottoman at this location and went to return within the 120 day window with the receipt in hand. It was barely used, but the store refused to take it back. The blonde woman I originally spoke to had an attitude as soon as I walked up to the counter. She called over the manager, Scott, and he wasn't terribly kind either. They made me feel really uncomfortable and ultimately the Container Store's return policy is such that any manager can arbitrarily decide whether to take an item back or not. This is the COMPLETE opposite of an earlier return I had to make at Bed Bath and Beyond. Bed Bath took my items back no question and with a smile. I really don't like how Container Store made me feel today and don't plan on shopping here ever again. Bed Bath has the same items and you get more coupons and NO attitude. I'm giving this store one star. It was a $50 item. They could have done the right thing. Bad customer service. read more

i'm never as organized as I'd like to be... but i love containers. Theyve got these great rubber rimmed jars great for every day items like freshly ground coffee, or great gift ideas for coworkers where you can fill them with dried mangoes or fancy almonds from costco. they also have these cool $1 mini spray bottles that dont just spray out water... it mists the water, excellent for minimal moisture especially when styling hair and re-working the excess hair product in the palms of your hands.... I like coming here before or after a movie since I watch movies at the century city shopping center. read more

This ain't your neighborhood Target - containers, racks, organizers, etc., here can be pricey but what you get is a large selection of items that are better made and more custom specific to suit your needs whether it is organizing your jewelry (many types of racks for this), clothes, shoes, files, collectibles (our #1 reason for coming here - display cases for vinyl figurines). If you live in LA, this is a great location given its free parking in the Westfield Century City shopping structure and its fairly large store size on the second floor by the food court. read more
