Lose one star because the prices are a tad on the spendy side, and not everything had the pricing information, I had to constantly ask or wonder. Having said that, this place is just gorgeous! So huge plenty to choose from. They take you from one room to another swimmingly. The office, the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. The uniqueness of the store is quite a real thrill, one of a kind, and the employees seem to be patient and friendly, I was greeted thrice. The inventory is extensive at least three million in inventory good lighting and wide aisles. You can also shop this store online and do a free pick up at the store itself and save the shipping, they'll call you when your item arrives. Can't say enough good things about this really genuinely unique store. They also have kitchenware, luggage, carts and a thousand other things I never saw but knew they were there. Brick and mortar are dying, We all know I could do better online on many of the items, these employees have to eat too, the prices are not really that outrages on many things, on other things almost laughable, I know I can do better. Clearly I'm not the only one binge watching The Home Edit on Netflix! That whole show is basically an extended infomercial for this store. There was a line as long as IKEA's! I fast-forwarded thru the show organizers babbling and focused on before and after pics. The most interesting products for me were the tiered craft carts and the lazy Susan's with clear acrylic bins. The carts were sold out already but hopefully will be restocked this week. I got one of the last 2 lazy Susan's and I love it! "Back-stock" is now part of my daily vocabulary, lol! So many great ideas and tempting goodies- it would be easy to spend hundreds in one visit as I saw many others doing. The Home Edit display shelves in the front of the store were picked clean less than a day after they were stocked. Some items are a bit pricey for plastic and cardboard but if you aren't a DIYer, and don't mind paying for super cute accessories, this place is a dream! I caved in and bought a set of iPhone cable stick-on cable drops. I'm sticking them on every desk and table in the house! Staff in the sales floor were helpful if not particularly enthusiastic. Cashiers and the door monitor were much more helpful and friendly. Block out plenty of time to shop if you go. It's mesmerizing shopping all the organization ideas. Also measure your shelves and cabinets before you go so you can make sure the parts fit. I'm definitely addicted! read more

I got tired of being frustrated and disorganized. So I went online a few nights ago and started looking at Elfa shelving. I finally called a rep and together we designed a shelf and drawer set for my office closet. I was able to order everything online and pick everything up the next day perfect. When you go to pick up, let them know you are on your way, then park in the loading zone. Someone in a red apron will be out with your order. It took me a few hours to get everything together, but I absolutely love everything. I can now relax and hopefully focus on more important things. Before settling on Elfa, I did do some comparison shopping between Elfa and the Home Depot brand. Hands down, Elfa my be a bit more expensive, but it is ten times better. Best time to purchase is during the Elfa sales that run 1 or 2 times a year. I got mine 30% off. -Make sure you read and follow the directions step by step. I didn't and had to go back and try and fix my errors without damaging anything. -You might have a few extra pieces left over. My suggestion, return whatever you don't need. I was able to return over $30 worth of extra parts. read more

I really like The Container Store, and it's great for giving me ideas of how to organize things that I hadn't thought of. On the other hand, sometimes I go there (like I did last weekend) and say OMG why don't I just get rid of more stuff so I don't need to buy containers to organize it! The store is very laid out. I went in looking for specific item, and I was easily able to find it. The staff was friendly. So why the three-star review you ask? I originally was going to order online for store pickup, but it was not available until several hours later. I decided instead to just go into the store and grab the items myself, since I knew they were available. The items that I was purchasing range from $7 to $11 were more expensive in store than online on the container store website by anywhere from $0.50 to $1 a piece with free shipping! The cashier gladly honored the price on the website, but I shouldn't have to price check the container store against itself. This store is located in Fashion Valley Mall, near Cheesecake Factory (that's a landmark).....and is a free standing store in the Easternmost area of the mall. It's directly adjacent to PF Changs. This store has tons of staples for organizing your rooms, and some high-end items as well. It's a really huge store, with spacious aisles. I bought a clear plastic make-up organizer, which is small, fits on my vanity, and is modern looking and functional. It fits all my stuff for now. I also recently bought a high-end "Simplehuman" kitchen trash can. It's really sturdy. They have almost a whole aisle dedicated to trash cans for anything you can think of for indoors. I also saw lots of other interesting and also decorative things, and will go back from time to time, because their stock changes seasonally. There is a rewards program you can sign up for, too. I absolutely love this store and it has saved so much of my time from the day I moved out to San Diego from Boston to the time when we were moving out of San Diego. This is my go-to store for moving, for closet arrangements, and for organizations. I have found a lot of good containers, a lot of great prices on trash cans, and tons of boxes to use for moving or pretty boxes I can store stuff in. I come here for one or two things and ALWAYS end up leaving with a lot more. They have these boxes that has hooks which allows you to pack your clothes without taking them off the hangers, very cool. A lot of the boxes we bought from here are saved and used as storage boxes. The other day, we got wooden hangers for the jacket closets for our guests and the luggage rack, which was a nice cherry wood color. Along with a step ladder (since I'm short) and spice bottles I can use to store my saffron and other spices that don't come in my spice rack. I wished the Container Store was available to me back in Boston because it would have made my life 100 times easier in college. read more

Never fear small rooms, inadequate closets, or lackluster storage ever again. I have the tiniest bathroom known to man, with one big mirror and no medicine cabinet. Off to the Container Store I went, to create a "floating medicine cabinet" for the tiny piece of wall next to the door. Basically i needed inspiration on how to get all my little bathroom items I use everyday up off the limited counterspace and somehow onto the wall. Oh yeah, and in a way that doesn't look horrendous, and won't cost me more than maybe 40 bucks. I decided to hang floating cubes because they're smaller than shelves, and pick up some small clear containers from Container Store to hold all my hair accessories, cotton balls, Qtips, flossing & whitening accoutrement for my teeth... You get the idea. And behold, a masterpiece. (See pic!) PS I have always had superb customer service when I am in the store, even the last time I went, covered in drywall shavings and looking like a bum. The staff in this store are a bit of a hit/miss as far as being helpful. Once of the managers, Ron is a stellar employee who is extremely helpful both in person and on the phone. The store is well organized and has a nice selection of the Container Store's merchandise. The lack of 5th star is for the order online and pick-up in-store system. This needs work to say the least. It is not fast and they are not well organized with that regard. I have ordered something, actually gone there to pick it up and them telling me that even though I paid for it, they actually didn't have it. That was annoying since the drive is over an hour to get to that store. All in all, a good store and I have purchased many useful items from here. They have a good return policy. read more

However, the staff was nearly non-existent and seemingly focused on everything but the customers. Prices were high ~ especially when there are equivalents available at other stores for a lower price. Not "equivalents" in the context of cheaper made things at a lower price, but in the context of equal quality at lower prices. They have a large quantity of sizes and colors. I went in today to look for a specific type of container. The very nice female cashier wearing a head cover who said hello when I walked in, referred me to a readhead female employee with curly, shoulder-length hair who's probably the manager/supervisor/lead. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and she told me what they have. I asked if I could take a look at it. She said she would get someone to help me and she walked away. I waited and walked around a little bit until I saw her walking towards the front of the store. I approached her but she walked past by me while she was talking with someone on her radio. She didn't even do an eye contact with me. I followed her and saw her talk with 2 other employees. I waited to see if she would tell them about me but she didn't even look at me. I asked the other employees instead about the product I was looking for and both of them were very helpful, with one of them showing me what they have that is close to what I needed. The "manager" meanwhile took another customer and helped ring them up. I didn't end up buying anything but went to the cash register where the manager was. When she was done helping the other customer, she went to talk on her radio again and avoided eye contact with me, as if I wasn't there. I'd say this employee has poor customer service and I don't know how she is even in a managerial position if she couldn't be a good example to the other employees. It was my very first time at a "The Container Store" and I was so excited, granted we came in 10min before closing, but we just wanted to look around; and the little old white lady with short white hair ran into me and my husband and shouted: "you know we close in 5 minutes right?! Did they tell you that up front?!" We weren't even greeted or she didn't even say "Hi welcome"; she was rude and abrupt about the encounter. She could've offered to help my find what I was looking for to help us along but instead she shouted at us. I don't think I'll ever be returning to this store. As we were leaving the store, I saw her asking a customer if they needed help. I'm offended because she shouted at me, a brown person; but she didn't even shout at the white couple that entered the store not a second after us. I placed an online order and one of items I ordered arrived damaged. I emailed custom survive the day I revived the damaged item and have sent multiple follow up emails on a weekly basis. To date, No one has reached out to me to address this issue. I have an item I paid for that is unusable and their response time is unacceptable. It's been radio silence for a month now. Agneta came out to our house a year ago and took measurements of our garage. Our garage was so packed full of items we couldn't park a car inside. She was very professional and had great ideas on how to store all of our items. Within a couple days she had a full layout of the garage. We waited until the yearly sale (FYI, happens in December) and purchased per her recommendations. I was able to install the entire garage with the help of one other person. A year later, I can say that I absolutely love having my garage complete. It's always tidy, I can park a car in my garage and have everything stored away. Meh. Could be better. I've been here twice before and they don't really have what I'm looking for. The first time I visited maybe 2 years ago I was looking for a bedside shelf or small table to hold my phone. Most recently I came to buy a hydroflask since I saw online that they were one of the carriers. When I came they only had like two sizes and two colors: Green and Blue, which wasn't what I was looking for. Called to inquire about an order I had placed 7 days ago because I never got an email coming formation and simply wanted to know when it would ship. The associate I spoke with was pretty rude. She treated me like I had asked for something unreasonable, reminding me that they have up to 10 days to shop and order so they had 4 more days until I should be calling for status. A simple automated email with shipping estimate would have been great... I'll stick to ordering online. I've had consistently iffy service there. read more

The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. Upon arrival I was greeted and asked if I needed any assistance. I was guided to the aisle of what I was shopping for but the item was out of stock. The staff went above & beyond by checking in the system on the computer and unfortunately it was out of stock in stores. I was told if I ordered online, I could do a free in store pick up and arrival would be within the week. Then, I inquired about another item, that was out of stock on the floor but was available in the back, so I was able to get that! Great service and check out speed. I am a sucker for anything that has to do with home organization! I am a label freak and keep my home super organized and clean! While I love the store and concept the prices I find are high.
