We went here to listen to music in their outdoor patio even though it was hot weather. Fortunately it is a covered outside patio. Great Guitar music from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. We enjoyed some beer and appetizers. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a fun place to have some beverages and appetizers for happy hour. read more

Visited quite often, I like their selection of kitchenware although pricey... I can usually find what I need. The food has been good but not impressed by the bar service. Staff on more than one occasion has not been attentive (to an empty wine glass in front of me for over 5 min!) , not particularly friendly, in fact a bit stand-offish and definitely not customer service oriented. Not good... They misdiagnosed a fix for my refrigerator, charged us over $500, later admitted they did it wrong, no refund... But they did apologize, which I guess is good. Terrible communication along the way, basically would just ignore me for weeks. The most troublesome thing is that they seemed to kind of collude with the manufacturer of the refrigerator, I asked them on several different occasions why the manufacturer of the refrigerator changed their mind and would not honor the warranty. Each time they just ignored me, the owner actually completely ignored the question. Each time. I would find somewhere else to make a purchase. read more

This is a difficult review to write because it is a bit of a mixed bag. We went to the indian cooking class here. The class was professionally managed. The instructor was entertaining and knowledgeable. The cleanliness and Covid management was perfect. Overall a great experience. Mostly. The only constructive criticism I would give is to use better ingredients for the food. It was odd in a high end cooking supply store that all of the spices and food was from Wal Mart. The instructor said so, and the brands were Wal Mart generic brands. Other than the chicken, many of the ingredients were canned. That would have been ok if the food had come together. The appetizer was pretty good, but the main dish was pretty bland. It was also served with a lot of rice further diluting the taste. I did not expect spicy hot food because it is for the masses, but I would have expected a little more fresh herbs and brighter spices. It was a nice experience, and I would probably return, just love to see what this chef can do with fresh food and high end spices. read more

The new location is gorgeous! It's in our neighborhood, so we walked over this evening to check it out. There is so much to take in! Kitchen items, unique gifts, wine, candles, and more. There's a small bar area where you can order wine or beer to enjoy while you look around and listen to the very cool music playing overhead. There are refrigerated snacks and salads to grab and go or even to enjoy with a beverage on the patio, so food is always available even after the cafe closes for the day at 3. Breakfast and lunch items are served. There's a walk-up window on the patio to place your order if you don't want to go in. Upstairs there are grill accessories, appliances, and more dishware, along with a large kitchen, bar, and dining area for classes, such as tonight's class on how to make sushi. Looking forward to visiting again and experiencing more as they settle in. read more

I am LOVING the new Cook's Station. We stopped by their second location last Friday night on our way to dinner to check it out. Parking was easy and the new floor plan felt open and welcoming. The store is packed full of fun cooking gadgets, delicious goodies, and beautiful bouquets. There are also lots of freshly made individually packaged food-- dips, cheeses, salads, and rice/quinoa bowls. It would be a great place to stop by and pick up a quick lunch if you work downtown! After browsing the shop, we saw they were offering build-your-own-charcuterie boards. We selected all of the cheeses, meats, and spreads we wanted and they put it all together for us in a beautiful presentation. They even gave great recommendations for cheese that compliment each other and wine to pair with it. We enjoyed it on the patio. We will definitely be back. I can see this becoming a new regular for us! read more

I haves loved the Cook's Station since it was in downtown. So giving the new location only 3 stars is hard for me. I came in to try the new deli. I ordered the soup of the day, vegan corn chowder. I'm not vegan (quite the opposite) but I expected they would've replaced the cream in corn chowder with something else to give it body. They did not. It was like eating thin corn soup. ‍ My sandwich was okay, but nothing special. On another visit I stopped in to buy some birthday presents. I was looking for a Kitchenaid stand mixer and attachments. They don't carry them! Now I understand that you can now buy them at Walmart and Target, but they are the gold standard in mixers. Williams-Sonoma carries the full line bc it is a kitchen classic and still the best mixer out there. The Cook's Station carries all the Oxo Good Grips products which are also sold at Target, so I don't get it.. I try to shop local, but they don't make it easy! read more

This is just an initial review after one visit, but wow! Can't wait to return. A friend suggested lunch here, a new addition to Cook's Station, I think, since it moved to this new, beautiful location. It houses, among other things, a great little gourmet lunch counter inside, with seating next to a nice-sized wine bar. Plentiful seating also available outside. We both really enjoyed our food (mine was a messy but very tasty french dip daily special - highly recommend) and were tempted by the nice wine selection and what looked like nice-sized wine pours. I'll definitely come back for some wine sometime - and it looks like Cook's Station offers a rotating selection of recommended wines, that are fairly priced and that I look forward to trying also. If you like kitchen stores, you'll love browsing the extensive one included here, with all the kitchen gadgets, the wine, the wine tools, seasonal offerings, some gourmet-ish grocery items, even flavored oil and vinegar! I would have liked some guidance or help for how to buy the oils and vinegars, there really aren't tools around to DIY this - I suppose you have to ask for help. The lunch counter area also includes some packaged foods for takeaway or, presumably, to have with your wine when the lunch counter closes. The lunch counter actually seems to be open 8am to 3 pm, so - for breakfast too. Can't wait to come back and explore more, what a great place! read more

A foodies dream come true! I drive by this place everyday on my way to work and was blown away when I finally came in. Any culinary need or want you can think of can be found here. To me the biggest highlight was the oil and vinegar tasting bar - a try before you buy so to say. Perfect to get some quality cooking and baking tools, and get some gifts as well. read more

This is a very cool store and it is a local store, two good things! I did not eat here, but the food menu is sort of deli/bistro-ish and there is a "stadium kitchen" for cooking classes upstairs. This Saturday, the cooking class was going, food was being prepared, eaten and enjoyed, there was a healthy amount of traffic in the store at the dining area as well as the shopping area. Downstairs is the dining area along with some groceries for unique items or for ready to prepare frozen entree's with a bent towards the health conscious trends. The upstairs has the cooking class on one side and a gourmet kitchen showroom on the other side, including appliances arranged in small kitchen displays for "the look." This store definitely trends towards the gourmet, healthy, serious foody. But it all comes with a price tag.....it is not cheap. Nevertheless, I purchased a medium sized fish spatula that was one of the high end choices - $30 vs some options half that price. And, we picked up a few other things, because, buy local, ya know. But for the overall "pricyness" of the store, I held back a star. It's not going to hurt The Cook's Station, they are in the right location with the right demographic and they have an excellent selection of food, utensils, dinner ware, pots, pans, etc. that is high end and quality product. Two very helpful male employees--one was Frank, another moved here from Chicago--helped me find the right napkins and choose a great balsamic vinegar, and filled me in on the monthly Tuesday burger night. Puzzling experience checking out--waited 2-3 minutes for a cashier to arrive, along with another customer who walked up shortly after I did. Reaga rushed up, asked who was next, and the customer behind me answered that I was. Reaga checked me out without speaking except to tell me the total, then wordlessly handed me my bag without even making eye contact. As I left I heard her apologize to the customer behind me, who replied "that's ok". Wondered why I was treated differently. Left feeling deflated. read more

We have been visiting for about a year ( new location North West Greenville). Cool store, neat retail items. Great oil and vinegar selections. I hear the classes are great, maybe the food/ sandwiches also. Perfect out door area. However, the wine pours for 9.00 plus a glass are horrible. Maybe 3 oz. at best.. Pour a little bit more wine and maybe you will have more repeat business on your vacant outdoor patio . Create some energy out there and gives us value for our dollar. We want to come back , but you have to market your bar / patio better for us and many of our friends close by. read more

They literally have EVERYTHING you could dream of in connection with cooking!! Sensory overload in a good way!! Huge selection of Le Creuset, great looking casual china, every cook's tool imaginable, and all kinds of cute kitchen accessories, napkins, Hester and Cook placemats and accessories, etc. Upstairs- a full cooks demonstration kitchen, a deck with grills, tons of higher end appliances (Wolf, SubZero, Fisher and Paykel, etc) that you can order from them for your home. They also serve lunch- sandwiches and salads that you can eat there or take away- and they have a bar as well! I had the Soba noodle salad - it was delicious!! They offer cooking classes, they sell wine, beer, everything you'd need for a great charcuterie board (including the board) an olive oil bar, and some take and bake meals. It's been a while since I left a bad review, but our recent visit to The Cook's Station was a really disappointing experience. We went there to look at appliances and try to start planning a total kitchen remodel for next year. But after being told it would be a couple minutes to talk to someone, we were ignored for 20 minutes before walking out. If you didn't want my business, you sure didn't have to waste 20 minutes while we stood/sat there doing nothing. I'd like to think it was not an issue of us being Hispanic in a store that had minorities working there, but I cannot be sure. In all my years of leaving reviews on Google/Yelp/Facebook, I've never once brought up race before and this is the first time I've felt like it might have been an issue. It was just an odd feeling, because there were no other minorities there that we saw, shopping or as employees, and as my wife and I walked out discussing our disappointment in the way we were treated (I never mentioned race to my wife until I got in the car), we walked past two different employees who looked directly at us and made a surprised face at hearing part of our conversation, but never bothered to pull us aside and ask what the issue was. So the entire experience felt very snobby, which is very unlike the way we've been treated since we retired to the Greenville area almost two years ago. read more

Amazing place to register for weddings at, also: we had the MOST WONDERFUL tasting with Kelly-She was an absolute rockstar and so so helpful! The oil and vinegar tasting station will BLOW YOU AWAY!!! We loved and purchased the blood orange olive oil, and these balsamic vinegars: pear, fig, and peach. INCREDIBLE. We are from Florida and will not hesitate to plan our next trip around this store. That class was awful. Poorly run, the instructor had horrible hygiene & didn't wash her hands once during the whole process. Even after licking her fingers?? There was no measuring, the only thing we did was whip egg whites that were already measured out for us. And to that, there were only 3 stand mixers so it was groups of 5. We were all on the same big table. When paying $70 for a cooking class, I expected to actually do more. We didn't even make the filling, she made it. We didn't measure anything out. I don't understand why you would fill a class so much just to not have enough equipment. The class ran over time because of lack of oven space, even though there were 2 ovens being unused. We didn't even put them in the oven, she did. I truly feel like she had no idea how to teach or explain anything. I think the class description should be more detailed in explaining how little hands on experience there is. Also the recipe was written in paragraph form which makes zero sense and makes it difficult to read. I think the classes need to be cut in half and maybe "taught" more than once a month so accommodate correctly. I basically paid $70 to have some other girl whip egg whites & then I piped the circles & then I waited over an hour. The "drying" process could have been more effectively done; my teams were dry before other teams yet the other teams went in first and when they came out cracked the lady asked why the instructor would put it in if they weren't ready. The class was already running over, just do it correctly at that point. Also, she was very snooty about ingredients & how she gets her chocolate directly from France yet uses salted butter & Philly cream cheese? Just lots of contradicting opinions. She is also not even a trained chef, she learned off YouTube...why pay $70 to sit in a not hands on class when you could also learn via YouTube, exactly how she did. I wanted to leave another 5 star review bc I am in love with this place. High quality everything all the time. My fiance actually threw me a surprise birthday party here a couple of months ago and rented out the whole upstairs and had a private cooking class for us and about 15 of our closest friends. The whole evening was amazing and more than I could have asked for. The menu was customized to what we wanted and there were fun games incorporated throughout that made the evening very interactive. We also come in to have wine or a beer every so often on the patio, pop in for lunch often and try their specials and we exclusively buy our olive oil and balsamic from them as well. I am hoping that one day they will build onto the building or modify it somehow so they can serve dinner like a restaurant bc then my life would be complete. read more

Took the pizza class- boy not what I expected- wanted to get some tips on dough making with right flour, dough consistency and how to cook (i.e.) what temp., optimum toppings for crust thickness, how to know if it was done etc. I split a mixer with another attendee- chef eye-balled the dough and finished it for us without giving us tips- zero teaching; supposed to rise for 3-4 hours but of course we did not have time. It was started on the grill to 'brown it' - temp. gauge was not working so when asked he said maybe 400 (?) - it was a swag- then it sat on the counter (cooling down) before popping it in a 350 degree oven to finish the toppings- asked if bake/broil? - he said convention setting- would have been good to know. Drum roll.... the end result - dense uncooked & partially raw dough crust-placed it back to finish when I asked him but there was no coming back from that. Vegetable toppings- mushrooms and tomatoes only as an FYI. Expected more for the price- good kids class but not meant for those looking to learn how to make a good pizza at home. Class consisted of mostly over 45 year olds. First and last class there- (sigh). read more

I can only review the store aspect of this place, because I haven't gone for food or the cooking classes (the food and drinks looked fantastic, however!). The new location and added room for this store has opened up a realm of possibilities for them, which they are taking full advantage of. Since leaving Main Street, they have transformed their store into a one-stop shop for any kitchen needs. The bottom floor is a general kitchen/cooking store with any knick knack or tool you could possibly imagine, as well as their cafe and eating area. The second floor is an appliance show room + cooking lesson area. Everything they sell looks fantastic and makes you want to figure out how to save several thousand dollars to afford that massive stove you've always wanted. Staff were super nice and helpful, but not pushy. They also had lots of free food samples which are always lovely! read more

Could have been so much better. Stopped in for a quick bite for breakfast and to do a bit of shopping. We ordered Toad in a Hole. Their variation of Eggs in a Basket. It advertised sausage gravy on the top. This was just horrible! The absolute worst sausage gravy I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. The eggs were best described as warm.... basically raw and exceedingly runny. This (not) delightful looking option was served on a paper lining which quickly disintegrated and blended in the swimming slop on the tray. A definite thumbs down. I was expecting so much more from this shop. I was hoping for something a little more elevated considering they are a high end cooking store. I stopped eating after three bites. My husband tried it and his words were " this would turn his stomach". We won't be back to shop or otherwise. read more
